Squad for the NA half of the party is now up! You can /sqjoin or /whisper Zhalsi for a taxi invite if you end up lost in the wrong map! ♥
Happy Spring, everyone! Though where you are may not be warming up just yet (I know it isn't for me), the end is in sight! And speaking of things happening soon - this Saturday is the first one of a new month, which means it's time for another art party hosted by my guild, Verdant Shield [VS]!
For those not familiar, art parties are a concept carried over from Final Fantasy XIV: in-game get-togethers for artists of all kinds to hang out, chat, and create together! For GW2 parties there’s more of an emphasis on hanging out and gathering references during the party itself, and then in the days/weeks following to work on your creations at your own pace and then post to the shared art party tag. We’ve used the same one (#VSArtParty) since the very beginning so you can go allll the way back and explore what people have made! The most important thing to keep in mind though is this: the ‘goal’ of an art party isn’t to be drawn, but to draw others, and share with the community!
Time and /squadjoin information is below the cut, but will also be posted again on the day of the party as squads go up!
Location Information:
It was incredibly funny to me when doing up the promo image that Judgment Rock just...has no POI attached to it at all. It simply is a tiny little region in the Southeast corner of Mount Maelstrom with its own waypoint (aptly named Judgment Waypoint) and literally nothing else. Good news for us though - that means it's a perfect place to set up shop for a party and not be disturbed!
Time & Squad Details:
As always, there'll be two parties - the first one on EU servers and the second on NA ones - with an hour break in between!
The EU server party will begin at 9pm Central European Summer Time (aka 3pm Eastern Daylight Time or 5 hours before in-game reset). I'm actually unsure of my work schedule for this weekend, so EU partygoers will have to stand by and I'll update this post (and subsequent reblogs) with who may be hosting for the first half of the party!
The NA server party will begin 1 hour after the EU party’s official end, at 7pm Eastern Daylight Time (aka 1am Central European Summer Time or 1 hour before in-game reset). I’ll be on my main account for this one, so please /whisper or /squadjoin Zhalsi for a taxi invite if you don’t see my customary white cat tag hanging around on your map!
Closing Words:
The dreaded concept of time and its perception led to me procrastinating on this post, only to realize that both regions have already switched their clocks by now and there was nothing to worry about, so sorry for the delay! Thank you for putting up with my short notices, I'd say it won't happen again but who knows what strange thing will come up next month. :P
Thank you again to everyone who comes out to these, I look forward to them every month even if I don't talk very much, and as long as people are interested will continue to be your designated cat herder! I'll see you all this weekend, take care! ♥
#i'm like 90% asleep so sorry if i haven't been super chatty this fine evening ewehhhh#obnoxious tourist simulator#vsartparty

Okay as it turns out I'm extra no-brain today because the concept of time was grappled with last month, it is in fact not March anymore x.x
I was procrastinating on perceiving the concept of time, my apologies for the late art party post it'll be here soon orz
#that does explain why the project file had mixed time zone abbreviations at least#ANYWAY#obnoxious tourist simulator

Hello hello! It's that time yet again for a little artfternoon tea party!
For anyone that hasn't been before, the point of these are to see what you can draw within the two hours! Could be a full piece, could be screen edits, could be silly doodles, could be something completely unrelated!!
This is made to be a nice chill experience, so grab yourself a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits and get settled in to do some doodling.
The theme this time is Commanders! Thank you to everyone who voted on that poll <3 The theme is of course not mandatory, you're very welcome to bring anyone you like! It's just a way of helping people pick which character to bring!
More details under the cut including squad joins!

The location is just up the stairs right near the waypoint! This is in Brisban Wildlands, just up from the map change to Metrica Province.
The squad will have two groups, one for people who are happy to be drawn and one for people who don't want to be drawn!
The EU party will be hosted by me and will be /sqjoin Midas Carrano
The NA party will be hosted by my dear friend @skydrifter and will be /sqjoin Zeet The Swift I will also be at the NA party, I just don't have a commander tag there!
As ever, shout out to the organisers of the original art parties, it's lovely seeing the art coming out of those <3
I hope to see you all there <3

Aaand squad is up for the NA half now! If you don't see my cat tag, you can /sqjoin or /whisper Khina Al Amiri for an invite! ♥
Happy March, everyone! I hope the Winter blues don't have you too down, because Spring is just around the corner! And what's even closer than that is the first Saturday of a new month, which means it's time for another art party hosted by my guild, [VS] Verdant Shield!
It's not exactly the aesthetic you'd normally think of when you think of Fireheart Rise, but Haymal Gore is that frosty little kodan settlement up in the Northwestish corner of the map! Rustbowl Waypoint is the one just beside the zone portal to Frostgorge Sound - you can take that one and head north, or take Icespear's Waypoint and head south (though I think north from Rustbowl is a bit closer)! As far as I could tell by hanging out there for a while, any events that could disturb the peace are restricted to the water, so we should be pretty relaxed out here!
Time & Squad Details:
As is customary, we’ll be having two parties - the first one on EU servers and the second on NA - with an hour break in between for those who may want to attend both!
The EU server party will begin at 9pm Central European Time (aka 3pm Eastern Standard Time or 4 hours before in-game reset). I’ll be hosting this one on my EU alt account, so please either /whisper or /squadjoin Runa Gravemourn for a taxi invite if you don’t end up on the right map!
The NA server party will begin 1 hour after the EU party’s official end, at 7pm Eastern Standard Time (aka 1am Central European Time or at in-game reset). I’ll be on my main account for this one, so please /whisper or /squadjoin Khina al Amiri for a taxi invite if you don’t see my customary white cat tag hanging around on your map!
Closing Words:
I'm dancing on the edge of being summoned back into work for the season (I work in a greenhouse), but as far as I can tell this shouldn't interfere with this specific Saturday's party since they like to divide everything by calendar week! If anything does come up though I'll be sure to let you guys know who the stand-in host will be until I'm off work and can take back over!
I say this every single time but it's also true every single time so I'll keep yapping about it: thank you so much to everyone who comes out to these things, you guys are what make them special! Take care of yourselves, and I'll see you this weekend! ♥

Hi! I've never been to an art party and am nervous about just showing up and not knowing anyone/not knowing what to do: do you have to be a part of VS to go, or is it open to all? Is there anything a nervous first-timer should know besides "show up, don't be a jerk, and have fun"?
You've got the right idea at the end there! It can seem like a lot's going on at first but it really is just as easy and moseying on up and settling in to do whatever feels right for you! Some people love to chat and play around with each other, but it's just as often that people are quietly working and simply enjoying the atmosphere. And regarding that first bit: it may be hosted by [VS], but that's more or less just because I wanted something simple and recognizable to use for the art party tag - it's open to anyone and everyone who'll treat the space and everyone in it with respect! ♥
#tbh me and szhor are the only vs members who are consistently there anyway lol#if it was a guild only event it would just be me and him drawing our asura back and forth for eternity#asks#anonymous#vsartparty#obnoxious tourist simulator
