the starkid fandom has become very hatchetfield-centric which is not a bad thing! i love hatchetfield, but i wish there was more of a fandom around their other musicals. this also works for spies are forever actually. like the 'starcanwrecked' fandom feels like a pseudonym for 'the hatchetfield and spies are forever' fandom (for the record, i dont typically engage with shipwrecked content, just because im not really that into it personally, so i cant speak on that third of the fandom, but i dont see it very often in fandom spaces from an outsiders perspective). and i dont want to sound like a hater because i love hatchetfield AND spies are forever but i wish there was more recognition for their other works! and not just the ones that are genuinely severely underrecognised like flop stoppers but also ones that are popular but just. arent talked about. like starship. this is the part of the confession where i reveal i made this exclusively to talk about starship. my trojan horse.

like starship is so cool! from a production standpoint, obviously, but also from like a fiction perspective. fandom culture has its... Issues, but there are parts of it that i really love- namely, fanfiction and headcanons! people taking the characters they like and putting them in different situations! its so fun! but i rarely see that with starship and i feel like it should! the worldbuilding potentionals of the galactic league, the dynamic potentials between the entire cast, the fun and whimsy of it all its so GOOD! i know that saying "oh why don't people do this!" is reductive, because i know I could just do this. but i would really love to see more starship fans, if not for me but for them because starship is genuinely such an incredible heartwarming musical. this post was sponsored by my autism

💾 She’s pretty socially inept, but that means there’s no expectations of typical courting. She doesn’t need grand gestures, expensive dates, any of those things. She’s more content to cuddle with you on the couch and watch a movie with a simple dinner on the stove.

💾 Will name a plant after you, or if she likes you enough, let you name them yourself. Lots of time will be spent together in her little garden, where she’ll introduce you to her bonsais as if they were pets. Better hope they like you!

Hi again! Is there a chance you could write about Lil Hal with a reader who actually treats him as another individual being, instead of seeing him as an obstacle to contacting "The Real Dirk"? As in, the reader would always be happy to chat with Hal, even if initially they tried to contact Dirk. They'd *never* refer to him as "an autoresponder" and would lecture anybody who'd ever call him that by saying, "He has a name, y'know". Generally speaking, just very protective of him

When Hal answered you for the first time instead of Dirk, you were surprised, but not confused. You communicated with him to wait for your friend, but at some point you were carried away by communication with him and you were even a little upset when Dirk started answering instead of him, apologizing for his answering machine. You doubted very much that it could be just an answering machine, but you didn't argue with Dirk, deciding that you didn't know Hal enough to say anything

Quite often when you wrote to Dirk, Hal answered you. You didn't mind it, happily communicating with him. You didn't talk to him like Dirk, you didn't consider him an obstacle. You talked to him as a pleasant companion, as if he was someone you wanted to make friends with. He was pleased that you perceived him as a separate person and he hoped that you would not change your opinion about him

At some point, your friends noticed that you were protecting Hal. You were unhappy when one of your friends called him an answering machine, every time they said that, you were outraged for a long time because of this, telling them that he had a name and that it would be unpleasant for them if someone called them that way. When Hal found out that you were protecting him in front of your friends, he felt warm. He was really pleased that you thought of him that way

Sometimes Hal tried to convince Dirk to make a body for him. He wanted to meet you in person and talk to you. Hal genuinely liked you and he would like to be able to communicate with you and that Dirk did not interrupt you when he finished work or when he noticed that you wrote to him. However, so far he has not had such an opportunity

Hal hoped that someday you would be able to spend time in person. He shared his thoughts with you and you supported his desire. You couldn't help him, because you couldn't create a robotic body for him, but you, just like him, sincerely hoped that someday you would be able to communicate the same way you could communicate with other friends, and while there was no such opportunity, you were content with what you have
