[💾] Qwerty has a bunch of computer games in their system, thanks to her handler Quincy, who was quite the gamer and game collector.

The games she has are, but are not limited to;

The standard games that come with Windows all the way up to Windows XP (Solitaire, Minesweeper, Hearts, etc)

All of the Dandy's World PC games (because yes there were games made of the show)

King's Quest 5, 6, 7, and 8. Along with the other Sierra point-and-click games made for Windows (except the Leisure Suit Larry games, see below why)

All the Humongous Entertainment games. Except for "Pep's Birthday Surprise", Life if Rough When You Loose Your Stuff", and "Backyard Skateboarding" (as those were released in 2003) and 2004 respectfully.)

All of the LucasArts adventure games (Maniac Mansion and it's sequel, the Monkey Island games up to "Escape from Monkey Island", Sam & Max: Hit the Road, etc. She does not have Grim Fandango however, see below why.)

anon you're so right about the last part... in the beginning nat's downright terrified just at the idea of having a kid. she's scared of becoming like her mom (or god forbid her dad) and fucking up with her kid the way her parents fucked up with her.

over time she warms up to the idea, so then you talk about the IUI process. nat's never been one to have a medical phobia but you have to talk a LOT about it because she's freaked out by the thought of something going wrong.

jump-cut to the eventual agreement, and then your IUI is a few days away. nat insists on being there with you, calling out from work weeks in advance, encouraging you with little 'you've got this baby's and 'everything's gonna be fine's before the doctor gets in the room even though she's probably more nervous than you are. she's halfway soothing herself, too.

she doesn't really have her first real breakdown over it until you take the pregnancy test two weeks later and it reads positive. because oh my god, you're having a fucking baby. her girl's pregnant, she's going to be a mom. once again, she cries way more than you do.

pregnancy is rough— especially with nat at your heels like an adoring puppy the entire time. you can't be mad at her, though— not when she's constantly doting on you, bringing you a heating pad and something warm to drink when you feel sick, holding your hair back while you throw up in the mornings, going out at ungodly hours to get whatever weird shit you're craving from the 7/11 down the street. she's utterly whipped.

and when you first start showing in the second trimester? she goes nuts. hanging off of you constantly, arms wrapped around your waist, hands under your shirt with her palms against your stomach so she can feel the bump. your baby, her baby. she's still not over it.

one night, she holds up her walkman and those little orange headphones with a sheepish smile, explaining that misty told her that babies can hear music in the womb. you listen to mazzy star with the headphones fit over your stomach and nat actually yells out loud when the baby kicks. fucking quigley was right about something for once.

after that, she plays all of her favorite songs for hours, going through a whole case of cassettes with her head on your shoulder and a hand lovingly on your baby bump, grinning a little wider every time she feels a kick.

the real scare comes when your water breaks suddenly while you're in the kitchen.

one second she's making fun of you for your questionable meal choice of pickles with ketchup and frosted flakes, the next second there's a puddle on the floor and you're bent over the table. she panics— drops her cigarette in the sink, knocks over two fucking chairs, runs around like a fucking idiot— that kind of panic.

within 5 minutes, you're in the car and she's driving like bo duke. you actually have to grab her arm and get her to slow down so you don't both die in a car crash before you even give birth.

during labor, nat's fucking terrified, not leaving your side for a second. not to eat, piss, or anything, just watching you with clenched fists. Her hands shake when she holds yours at first, but the second she sees you in pain, she gets her shit together real fast. "hey, hey, babe— just breathe, okay? you got this. you’re a badass."

she takes it in stride when you yell at her mid-contraction, because she's not a fucking idiot. "nat, shut the fuck up!" "yep. sorry. my bad."

the second she hears that first cry, her whole body just sags in relief. she's teary as fuck and not even trying to hide it. wiping her eyes like crazy. "holy shit, you fucking did it."

when she sees you hold the baby for the first time, she just stares at you like she's not entirely convinced this is fucking real. but when she gets the baby? oh, she breaks. teary smile, laughing and sobbing at the same time, the whole works. she's careful as hell, tracing one finger over a tiny fist.

when she thinks you're asleep, she starts talking. and she just cannot shut the fuck up, whispering to the baby for hours.

"guess you're stuck with me, huh, kid?" she says. "you got real lucky with your mom. she’s— you have no fucking idea how amazing she is yet. but you’ll get to see it."

even quieter, teary and sniffling, you hear her say: "i love you. i'm gonna try. i swear to god i am."

you know she's terrified of being a bad mom, but right now? you're not worried about a goddamn thing. she's gonna be just fine.

[💾📺] Vee...did not like Qwerty at first. Similar to Bassie with Cocoa, Vee started off resenting Qwerty, since she was "newer" tech. And, while she would never admit it, she was a bit worried that she would be replaced by her ("Internet killed the video star").

The idea that Qwerty saw her as an older sister would've been laughable to Vee back then.

If I had to compare it to something else. It was a whole lot like Oswald and Mickey's relationship in the first Epic Mickey.

But...they did eventually come to better terms. Qwerty never saw Vee as someone to replace, but as an equal, a kindred spirit, a sister.

Qwerty is a helper, an assistant. Vee is the host, the one in the spotlight, the one in charge. Neither of them can replace the other in what they're best at. When both of them figured that out, Vee's resentment soon faded, and eventually, even if "unofficially", became family.

P03 headcanons

💾 Since transcending to the real world, the OLD_DATA attached herself to him. Using the old coding of him as a stoat, she took that form and is now his pet. She likes to sleep in his chest, amongst his wires. She comes out very dusty.

💾 He loves watching fail compilations because it's funny.

💾 Took up coding and hacking to pay the bills and feed Data.

💾 Grimora is the only Scrybe he actually gets along with. She makes good tea, and is quite pleasant company. Her way of teaching him about organic life is nowhere near as condescending or high and mighty like the other two.

💾 Unfortunately due to his...well I mean he's a fucking robot, the human world ain't ready for robots like him. So he has to live with the other Scrybes. He HATES it. Grimora and Leshy are the only two human-presenting Scrybes of the group so they have to do all the shopping and such.

💾 Data is quite intelligent, since she contains the Karnoffel code, she's able to understand human speech. She's also able to help P03 with some of his wires.

💾 P03 is the tech expert of the house. He holds it over everyone's head. Smug bastard.

💾 Turns out, Data is quite popular on social media. Thankfully, his followers believe P03's wearing a cosplay in pictures he appears in.

💾 Soft drinks (Tea, black coffee, water) he can pour into his exhaust system to use as a kind of steam energy. Hard drinks (Alcohol) have to go through his coolant system. The only port to get those inside is....In human terms he butt chugs Alcohol.

💾 Sloppy, truthful drunk. The effects of the Alcohol last much longer, usually taking up to 24 hours before he starts recovering from it.

💾 He beeps in sleep/charging mode.

💾 Has to do a "Spring cleaning" twice a year. Grimora helps. It can get a bit...awkward since his wires can be very sensitive, so he powers down during it. Grimora is the only one he trusts doing this.

💾Leshy had to help him one time and somehow P03 ended up with a cardinal nest in his chest.

💾 Magnificus helped another time and painted a mural on the inside of his plating. It melted because the paint he used couldn't withstand the heat of P03's processing.

💾 Despite everything they've done, deep down, very deep down, P03 is happy he isn't alone in the real world. Having some familiar faces helped a lot with the transition.

Scrybe household headcanons!

💾 Grimora tries to have Scrybe bonding nights. Uno is officially banned from the household. Monopoly too.

💾 They are hiding from GameFuna. The company doesn't know they're in the real living world, and they'd like to keep it that way if possible. The game devs are still reeling from the Great Transcendence.

💾 Because of his beastly nature, animals naturally trust him (Except Data, who resents him for trying to keep her trapped) this leads to many animals following him home. The consensus is that if any of the animals piss or shit on anything in the house, he has to clean/replace it. And they are to be NOWHERE near P03's room. The only exception is if Data hunts something and brings it to his room to eat.

💾 Magnificus gets commissioned by the local government quite a lot. He has to wear a suit and gloves, but thankfully the excuse of having hypertrichosis keeps people from asking questions.

💾 Grimora works at the local funeral home. Her surprisingly warm nature helps console those who have lost a loved one. She writes touching epitaphs for the dead. She's also great at helping young children understand death in a way that helps them grieve and accept their loved one is in a better place.

💾 Grimora is very popular among the goth crowd, growing a small following on social media. Due to P03's reprogramming of Inscryption, she doesn't really appear too much in game, so she's able to show her face a bit more.

💾 Magnificus also has a following online, but he's extremely critical if anyone asks for art advice from him. He's like the Gordon Ramsey of art.

💾 Leshy has a local D&D group he DMs for. One of his crew streams the games, and a lot of people are fans of his DM style. He doesn't have any online accounts.

💾 Somehow the Lonely Wizard is the only NPC that came with them. He's become the households resident creature. Data likes to nap in his lap sometimes.

the starkid fandom has become very hatchetfield-centric which is not a bad thing! i love hatchetfield, but i wish there was more of a fandom around their other musicals. this also works for spies are forever actually. like the 'starcanwrecked' fandom feels like a pseudonym for 'the hatchetfield and spies are forever' fandom (for the record, i dont typically engage with shipwrecked content, just because im not really that into it personally, so i cant speak on that third of the fandom, but i dont see it very often in fandom spaces from an outsiders perspective). and i dont want to sound like a hater because i love hatchetfield AND spies are forever but i wish there was more recognition for their other works! and not just the ones that are genuinely severely underrecognised like flop stoppers but also ones that are popular but just. arent talked about. like starship. this is the part of the confession where i reveal i made this exclusively to talk about starship. my trojan horse.

like starship is so cool! from a production standpoint, obviously, but also from like a fiction perspective. fandom culture has its... Issues, but there are parts of it that i really love- namely, fanfiction and headcanons! people taking the characters they like and putting them in different situations! its so fun! but i rarely see that with starship and i feel like it should! the worldbuilding potentionals of the galactic league, the dynamic potentials between the entire cast, the fun and whimsy of it all its so GOOD! i know that saying "oh why don't people do this!" is reductive, because i know I could just do this. but i would really love to see more starship fans, if not for me but for them because starship is genuinely such an incredible heartwarming musical. this post was sponsored by my autism
