I think I made a post before about the creepy guy at high school in a study hall who always sat next to me being creepy and one time touched me under the table, under my skirt without consent. he said he was 19, turning 20 that year and I think he said he failed to graduate for two years so that's why he's still I high school at that age...makes me wonder if he was purposely failing because it gave him a chance to be creepy to all the high school freshmen like me. I was 14 🤢 listening to crime podcasts and hearing all the ridiculous things creeps like that do made me have this realization.... too bad the teacher I tried to tell ignored me and yelled at me to go sit back down. that useless teacher never liked me and saw me as a trouble maker all because I was autistic and bad at talking and fell asleep in his class when i was really sick 😭 growing up with useless adults that never helped you is so traumatizing. but I hope that creepy guy never hurt kids and if he did, I hope he got caught and prevented from doing it again!!!!!!

I would say that Mashle has won as a series because when I first got into it I saw Lance and I was like "close enough welcome back kuroko tetsuya" but I've reached a point where Lance is so Defined as a character to me I no longer see Kuroko in him I forget he ever reminded me of Kuroko at times I just see him and go "it's Lance!!!! :D!!!!!"

Not specific to any specific fandom, but... 😂 Definitely when people criticise ships they don't like & justify their own OTPs by trying to appeal to politics or morality.

I've seen people argue that m/m shippers (a few times, specifically tumblr user fitz rove - that's always fun 😂💀) are misogynists; I've seen people argue that f/m shippers are homophobic; I've seen people argue that people who ship ONE f/m ship are misogynists but people who ship a DIFFERENT f/m ship from the same work are women's liberation activists; I've never seen anyone say much of anything about F/F shippers because the masses (save for specific fandoms where it's more commonplace) don't care about wlw fic 💀💀💀🥲

The fact is, liking or enjoying most things is morally neutral, but the way you talk about them and "justify" them (if you start down that road) to other people in public spaces, specifically by commenting on the canon or the state of fan culture, is (often) political. And that's how a lot of analysis and interpretation is, it's not inherently bad! But I do think that in some cases people can be very combative with their takes and just label people with different opinions some kind of bigot, which is never productive imo.

And like, yeah, there is bigotry in fandom (especially in situations when certain things or headcanons become established fanon to the extent that straying from them is seen as a violation - and sometimes these headcanons can have roots in offensive or reductive stereotypes), there are also weird people with weird worldviews in fandom, but I still don't think people approach these things in a productive way most of the time.
