May we get! Some Eugene lore please!
Ough, my guy Eugene ๐๐. Ngl, I created him like 2 years ago or so. I've been trying to keep him under wraps because I wanted to do something with him. But also I WANNA TALK ABOUT HIM SO BAD ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ PAKFNFKA. So I'm gonna talk about him, especially if people are showing interest in him ๐ค. If you have any more specific questions, you can send some more asks. I'll try to cover some things about him, but I don't wanna put everything onto a single post ๐๐ฆ
So starting off with the basics lol. He's 24, 5'8, and is currently working towards getting a computer science degree. He's not particularly passionate about it, but the jobs pay well, so he figures it's a safer option. He's pretty decent at coding too, so that helps lol
He lives on campus with a roommate (who I STILL DON'T HAVE A FUCKING NAME FOR ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ). This guy is really his only friend. Eugene is super shy and awkward, and has a lot of confidence issues. His friend was the one who introduced himself first. He saw Eugene hanging out all by himself off to the side, like a wet sad dog ๐, so he approached him! He didn't want Eugene to feel lonely and wanted to try to get him out of his shell a bit. Eugene slowly began to grow more comfortable around him, and now they're really good friends ๐
So the thing about Eugene is that... he's kinda a bit unsettling? Pwjfjkskkw. I think he's more awkward than anything though lol. He never really learned how to interact with people and is super conscious about how he presents himself. He's always worried that he'll say the wrong thing, or will act too weird and everyone will hate him. He just wants someone who he can be close to, and who likes him back. As he grows older, he's started to become more desperate for that sort of affection. He's worried if he doesn't find someone soon, then he's going to end up all alone ๐
This is where he gets into his more stalkerish tendencies. (It's. It's not stalkerish. It's definitely just full on stalker tendencies paofhks.) It is very easy for him to swoon over someone. There doesn't have to be a particular reason for it sometimes. It can be someone as simple as just being nice to him that day. Or accidentally bumping into him on the street. Once you catch his eye, he becomes obsessed. He wants you to like him back, he wants you to like him as much as he likes you. But no one's ever really liked him for who he is. So what better way is there to get someone to like you than just becoming everything that they like?
He is on a mission to know everything about his crush. The more he knows about them, the more he'll know how to act, how to please them, how to make them happy. He will be breaking into your house when you're not there lol. He is memorizing your daily routines, taking note of your favorite foods, what soap you use. Absolutely everything. He wants to mold himself into the perfect boyfriend and is willing to do anything to become that. You don't like facial hair? He's shaving. You don't like guys with glasses? He's buying contacts. He's willing to change his fashion sense and even his personality. One of his favorite things to do is to dye his hair to his crush's favorite color. He also has a golden locket he wears with a little token inside to remind him of his crush. He typically puts a lock of hair in there, but if they also have something that's small enough to fit, he'll use that too
Interests include wood carving and berries ๐. His favorite is raspberries
#anon#mouse speaks#my oc#eugene wagner#'i don't wanna put everything onto one post' i say before PROCEEDING TO WRITE A MOUNTAIN OF TEXT#idk if any of this is confusing. i just kinda put a huge info dump down lol#feel free to send in more asks if you're curious tho ๐

I really appreciate how DHBM did him justice and aimed for a playful and mischievous edge to his portrayal while also having him respected just as much as any of the rest of the cast, and while I really would have liked to see an official side quest with Megavolt, the choices they did go with to explore his character are surprisingly solid choices outside of the norm.
I absolutely love how natural the dialogue with Slinky went, right down to the premises for the additional mini missions implying that he continued to hang out with Slinky and the rest of Andy's Toys and that they actually are decent to him.
Then there's Lock, Shock and Barrel apparently not only gaining his admiration for thier quick wits in getting him out of a tight spot, but them also actually being very eager to see what sort of toys he makes, which must have been so cathartic for him for once. He finally found the perfect target audience!
I'm pretty sure he basically just emotionally adopted them, lol.
Something really funny about QuackerJack saying that a variety of toy is too dangerous for kids, not gonna lie. Also, apparently his place of residency in the DHBM world has a basement, so I assume he finally got a stable house now. And wow, QuackerJack dressing up in old civilian garb for Halloween every year is surprisingly a heavy lore drop. ๐
And I like that his relationship with 22 basically just amounts to QuackerJack wants to cause chaos for chaos' sake, and 22 keeps trying to keep him in check. Also, they totally bought a soccer ball to play impromptu dodgeball with everyone whether they want to join or not.
Also, I love how QuackerJack just starts laughing while watching fireworks. There's no particular reason given, he just starts laughing. "Maniacally", yes, but that's normal for him.
The general implications the DHBM continuity seems to give is that he's well established in the collective city and I like that he can just walk up to someone to talk and ask for help when he needs it. Also, bonus for his attachment to Mr. Banana Brain being taken seriously.
Actually, the game in general has some rather positive notes for self care and accommodations. Rex has anxiety in the game and Zurg actually helps him get through it ((mostly to mold him into the perfect minion)), Megavolt and Fennic go to anger management ((and Darkwing expresses delight in seeing Megavolt taking care of himself)), Ursula and Maleficent end up stumbling into a sudden spa day, Scar learns about Hakuna Matata from Timon and Pumbaa, Mad Hatter has a surprisingly lucid moment of emotional support for Alice at some point, Stitch gets to spread the message of the meaning of Ohana to Barbosa... Basically, nearly every single Friend Campaign has some sort of sweet undertone regardless if the two characters involved are both Heroes and/or Villains. ๐
I still think about how QuackerJack thought that the NBC world was pre-telephone era, which seems to imply that he still uses the Time Top on a regular basis and tries to stick to the "A Sound of Thunder" rule of time travel, probably because he still has trauma from the time he and Megavolt royalty messed up the future in one timeline by not doing a spot check.
This is especially funny considering that "The Nightmare Before Christmas" released in theaters after Darkwing Duck finished airing and seemingly takes place in the year 1993, so technically speaking in the massive collective Disney Canon, QuackerJack's continuity takes place a year before.
Anyway, I love that QuackerJack's reaction to possibly messing up the time flow to advertise his company is a subdued "... Well, geeze." when the guy literally tried to erase yoyos from history once.
What year does he think they came from? Because phonebooks were invented in the late 1800s.
Alternately, does he just think they came from a parallel universe where phones never developed? A very odd choice of skewing timelines, because I know for a fact that electricity exists in Halloweentown, because what else would be powering the Christmas lights Jack put up on the tree during the whole trying to get everyone interested in the concept?
Either way, it's just really funny to me that QuackerJack's frame of reference for how the world development differs between his and thiers is the existence and usage of phonebooks.
