- start adjusting your diet to fit your personal goals. remember that slow motion is better than no motion + discipline is necessary. donโt force yourself to get healthy / fit in one week this is a steady win - avoid burnout. writing your goals every week helps. โ๐ผ๐ณ๐๐ซ๐ฅ
- practice detachment. i donโt mean from emotions & becoming โstoicโ but from materialistic objects, remove yourself from labels, become nothing so that you may become something. detach yourself from people that no longer serve you, stop dwelling on the past; there is only โright nowโ. detach yourself from the future, it is not promised & only creates anxious emotions. ๐ง ๐ซ๐ฆถ๐ผ
- learn to become comfortable with the uncomfortable. train yourself with breath work. I recommend pranayama, morning & night. I used to be anxious about anything that is โnewโ until I started simply breathing properly & quieting my mind first thing when I wake up, I swear by it. ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
- journal morning & night. track your mental + emotional patterns. write down why you feel a certain way & if you donโt know why, break it down instead of looking at the bigger picture. ๐

If the Fellowship Collected Things
a/n: So making Fellowship headcanons has been my newest obsession as far as writing goes. It's so much fun! It's so cool how it just come to you. I was partially inspired by @wordbunch and those amazing ones. I'll be posting the plethora of ones I've written over time. Here's what the Fellowship would have collections of. Enjoy!

Sam: dried/pressed leaves and flowers. Dirt samples in little glass bottles with cork caps (he has a tiny spade too). Recipes and cookingware. ๐ณ
Frodo: maps and books. If a map is torn, he will cut it into small pieces and put it in a frame like a collage. Feathers he finds. ๐ชถQuilts and blankets.
Merry: he collects ale mugs and cloth napkins. Since hobbits have so many parties, his collection is always growing. Every now and then he'll snatch spoons or forks because he's always losing his silverware ๐ฝ
Pippin: he collects poetry and songs, but no one knows how or where he gets so many. He has a wardrobe of just scarves. A bunch of cool rocks he finds that he thinks have gold in them, though Gimli tells him otherwise. ๐ชจ
Aragorn: books... lots and lots of books ๐ He also has a collection of swords and daggers since he becomes attached to them. He has a secret collection of ribbons that Arwen wore in her hair that NO ONE touches ๐
Boromir: he collects shields ๐ก Sometimes you'll find bones from who knows what. He has a wall of animal hides from hunting. He whittles little figurines a lot too.
Legolas: feathers and fern leaves ๐ (ferns are the only plants he'll collect). And arrowheads also
Gimli: blades of axes and acorns ๐ฐ (he won't explain why). He always admires Sam's dirt collection and has a rock collection of his own for each important place he visits.

with body: musings on food and exercise
I actually just realized that I had a lot of experiences with disordered eating that was less about weight loss and more about food pickiness, loneliness/depression, mandated fifteen minute breaks while working retail, super late lunches while working fast food, and heartburn/dental issue-related food restrictions.
Iโm lucky Iโm not allergic to any food as far as I know. Iโm also lucky that I am still generally healthy except for a tendency towards anemia. Now I try to enjoy everything I eat, even my lazy go-tos, and also expand my repertoire of things I can cook. My biggest struggle is to slow down while eating.
I am chubby/overweight for my height after being a skinny kid growing up. It means I still have a moment of cognitive dissonance sometimes when I look in the mirror or at pictures of myself. I try not to hate this body. For one thing, Iโm a lot stronger now than as a kid. I actually look a bit more proportional now because of more developed shoulders/arms. Iโm getting old and my knees are feeling it, and Iโll never be what you might call athletic, but I am still relatively able-bodied.
I am trying to lose weight in a manner as healthy as possible. Just enough to feel a bit lighter and tighter but not enough to need a new wardrobe. Listening to Maintenance Phase podcast helps clarify a lot of that for me.
My method? A very loose tracking system where I fill in my weight anytime I want to for the month and also record how many times I use the treadmill, go on the elliptical for at least 10 minutes, (that we have those machines at home and the space for them is a big privilege I know) go on forest walks and river walks and follow workout videos plus the nebulous other which counts weight training, dancing, or other activities. No goal, no pressure. Ok one goal is to go swimming a couple of times. And another goal is to visit a new park. But theyโre not really written down. I liked the gym the one time I tried it, but I didnโt go there enough to make it worth the money.
My forest walks are basically hour-long nature walks on some Sunday mornings to the little tree-enclosed bike lane close to our house. I mostly check out whatโs growing and listen to birdsong. A river walk is me getting off a stop early before work for an extra ten minutesโ walk. If I have more time I take a detour to the pier to talk to the river/get my head straight. I do it for destressing as much as for weight loss tbh.
I donโt do anything different with food because the moment I think about going on a diet, I immediately get ravenously hungry. And skipping meals has had a bad effect on me historically.
But I am also aware that thereโs a growing movement towards vegetarianism for climate change reasons. I think thatโs admirable; I want to learn more vegetarian dishes, but I kind of hate the judgment and expectations that go with it.
I think we as humans have a lot of baggage when it comes to food. Itโs fuel but itโs also love and time/expense and things we swallow down because we heard it was good for us or because someone we care about made it for us and things we throw together for convenience. Food is relationship building and celebration and comfort. Food is family memory, cultural connection and exploration. Food is historyโI didnโt realize how much exchange my country had with Mexico until I started finding familiar Filipino tastes at Mexican restaurants. I live on food and live for food.

Persephone in the Real World
OMG, guys, you won't believe what I found out about Persephone! ๐ฒ Like, you know she's the queen of the underworld and all, but did you ever wonder what she'd be like if she were living it up in modern times? ๐๐ฑ Well, here's a little peek into a day in the life of Persephone in our 21st-century world. Spoiler alert: She's a total boss, even outside the underworld! ๐ฅ๐
Day 1: #OOTD in the Underworld So, Persephone starts her day by scrolling through her Instagram feed for some fashion inspo. She's like, "I need a killer #OOTD for today!" ๐๐ถ๏ธ But instead of a closet full of designer clothes, she's got an enchanted wardrobe that serves up outfits on demand. She steps out of the underworld looking like a fashion icon, ready to slay Hades' heart and the mortal realm at the same time. ๐โโ๏ธ๐
Day 2: Brunch with Demeter Persephone's like, "Gotta keep mama happy!" ๐ณ๐ฅ She FaceTimes Demeter while whipping up some avocado toast (cause even goddesses need their avo fix). They chat about life and crop rotation because, you know, Demeter's all about that agriculture. It's a chill mother-daughter brunch, complete with Greek yogurt and pomegranate seeds for dessert. ๐๐จ
Day 3: Hades' Surprise Date Night Hades is like, "Babe, I'm planning a surprise date night!" ๐น Persephone's intrigued because he's got a flair for the dramatic. She gets dressed up in her hottest outfit (I mean, it's the queen of the underworld, so duh). Hades whisks her off to an exclusive, underground speakeasy. ๐ธ๐บ They sip on ambrosia cocktails and dance the night away while being serenaded by the souls of the dearly departed. #DateGoals ๐๐
Day 4: Instagram Takeover Persephone's feeling extra today and decides to do an Instagram takeover. She takes us on a tour of the underworld, showing off all the cool stuff like the River Styx and Cerberus the three-headed dog. ๐๐ธ The ghosts of ancient heroes follow her, leaving heart-eye emojis on her posts. They're her OG fans. ๐ปโค๏ธ
Day 5: Self-Care Sunday Even queens of the underworld need some self-care. Persephone runs a bubble bath with pomegranate-scented bath bombs ๐๐, throws on a face mask, and binge-watches Netflix (yes, she has a secret Wi-Fi connection down there). She texts Aphrodite for some beauty tips, and they swap skincare routines. ๐งโโ๏ธ๐
Day 6: Goddess Pilates Class Persephone is all about that goddess fitness life. She hits up a Pilates class with Athena and Artemis. ๐งโโ๏ธ๐ช Hades got her a personalized yoga mat with pomegranates on it. Afterward, they sip on green smoothies and gossip about other gods' drama. ๐๐ฃ๏ธ
Day 7: Reigning Over the Underworld It's back to business. Persephone rules the underworld with an iron fist (but like, a stylish iron fist). She checks in on the souls, reviews the latest fashion trends in Tartarus, and has a meeting with Hades about their upcoming Halloween party. ๐๐ป She's the boss lady of the underworld and Instagram's original #GirlBoss. ๐ผ๐
