Conseguir adiar a sua ida para a história que lhe foi destinado, com certeza foi um enorme presente que aproveitaria ao máximo. A decisão de viver na cidade próxima do escola era exatamente para se manter longe daquele círculo, a começa pelo próprio Gaston, ainda que tenha que ficar mais tempo longe de seu pai, LeFou. Estava no bar, servindo algumas bebidas antes de voltar pro seu pequeno apartamento na parte de cima do estabelecimento, uma vida bem simples para quem era herdeiro e cheio de regalias. Ainda era o favorito de Cruella, ainda se vestia muito bem, era elegante e sensual como sempre, e ainda fazia marmanjo chorar porque não estava afim de ir pra cama com eles.

Henri estava quase terminando quando ouviu a porta e se virou para dizer o seu costumeiro — bem vinde, o que deseja? — que sempre fazia quando algum novo cliente chegava. Se surpreendeu com a presença de Lowell, que independente do tempo que passe, das relações que tem, das histórias que construía, ainda fazia Henri perder o ar por segundos enquanto o seu coração batia em um ritmo completamente descompassado. “But THAT’S a story for another night.” she mused.

“Aw come on.” Henry groaned. “Just one more?”“ENCORE! ENCORE!” Emily cheered.

Polly sighed “One. More. Okay, mateys? Because I want to save the more juicy ones when we know each other better.”

“WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” Frances cheered.

Polly smirked. “Ya remind me a bit of Ricardo.” she mused. “Chaotic rascal.”

“Ricardo? Who are they?” Agatha asked.

“Ricardo, where do I begin? He’s the best first mate a Capt’n could ever yearn f’r.” Polly explained. “Eager, excitable and as restless as a pirate crew on a heist!”

“Sounds just like Frances.” Agatha chuckled.

Frances groaned. “I get it, I have a problem.”

“Well this one night, the waves was rocking our wee lil’ ship like a mere leaf and I was in me hammock, reading, when Ricardo looked over at me eagerly, unable to sleep.” Polly explained.

“This sounds more and more like Frances.” Emily smiled. “They can’t sleep, half the time.”

“Half?” Polly paused.

“More like ALL the time.” Edgar laughed.

Polly facepalmed a little. 

“ANYWAYS…” she continued. “On this particular night, Ricardo was extremely sleepless. And the rest of me crew, ‘cept the two o’ us, they were snorin’ away.”

“Go on.” Frances was intrigued.

“So I glanced at ol’ Ricardo and asked him why the heck he was still up. I mean, we were anchored down, no plans for the mornin’ an’ here he was, restless as ever. So I just swayed ‘is hammock a lil, just to see if it’d calm his body- even if it was a lil’ bit. I take the wins I get.” Polly smirked.

“Wish we had a hammock.” Gertrude beamed.

“...Let’s just listen to Polly.” Arthur smiled. “That sounds like the life, though. A hammock, no worries, anchored into the sea…”

“Preach it.” Polly nodded before continuing. “So, that wasn’t workin’, an’ it’d usually work. So the big waves must’ve been makin’ ‘im really restless. So I got out me ol’ squeezebox an’ began singing ol’ shanties.”

Beat.

“THAT didn’t work either.” Polly laughed. “It was a nightmare.”

“I figured.” Emily chuckled. 

“So I needed a foolproof plan. A good capt’n always has a plan, Ms. Rose.” Polly reminded. “I eventually came up with a plan. Had ‘im visualize the ship bobbin’ in the ocean, the gulls squawking o’erhead. The moon glowin’ in the sky. All ‘em whales an’ dolphins splashin’ round. The sharks slowly swimmin’ round our ship.”

Frances did so…and promptly began snuggling up against Agatha.

“After a bit, Ricardo was oddly quiet. An’ lemme tell ya, he was NOT the quiet type.” Polly laughed. “Even when he was asleep, he wasn’t quiet. So I just waited a wee lil’ bit to see if he was okay.”

“Was he?” Theodore mused.

“He was alright, just busy visualizin’ the scenario. I rocked the hammock a lil’ an’ it sent ‘im off t’ dreamland. A good capt’n knows ‘er crew.” Polly beamed.

Frances snored.

Modern / No Powers AU

Verse for generic interactions or crossover with series with no powers or special abilities.

Everyone still works at Bar Lupin, but might have slightly different backstories.

Maurice - 24, the owner and main bartender. He and his younger sister Georgette were orphaned as children and ended up in an orphanage, but escaped to avoid being separated. He has a juvenile criminal record for theft and robbery (which he committed to feed himself and his sister), but has long since cleaned up his act, although he still likes to put the skills he's learned on the streets to use to impress and entertain costumers.

Georgette - 21, Maurice's younger sister and full-time waitress. Devoted to her brother for raising and protecting her after they were orphaned. She also volunteers for the local community theater as a makeup artist, costume designer and substitute actress (her ability to play both female and male roles is highly coveted).

Murasaki - 23, a college student who works part-time as a waitress. Estranged from her mother, whose domineering behavior caused her daughter to have a mental breakdown and seek emancipation at 17. Loves literature (both reading and writing) and is a skilled baker.

James - 40s, the bar manager (often mistaken for being the owner as well). Looks younger than his actual age (no one's ever given him more than 30 years). Has experience working in bars, having ran his family's pub for almost ten years. Sole survivor of a tragic accident where he lost his entire family (parents, wife and unborn child). Never gets drunk.

Henry - 32, supplier and occasional bouncer. Having worked as a sailor for half his life, he has several contacts and connections with many businesses. The oldest of three siblings, he's naturally protective and nurturing (albeit often oblivious to many costumers crushing on him). His arms are covered in tattoos. Has a love for poetry.

Ted - 20, a really quiet young man (whether he's unable to speak or simply chooses not to is a mystery to many), works as a busboy and barkeep-in-training. A skilled artist, illustrator and cartoonist. Adopted and raised by two loving mothers since he was a baby, had a bit of a sheltered upbringing but is curious and adventurous. Often feeds the local stray cats.

Patrick - 25, barback. Born with an extraordinary sense of smell (hyperosmia), he dreams of becoming a perfumer and is saving up money to open his own perfume shop. Has a troubled past (the result of his mother's affair with a married man, grew up in foster care until the age of 16, etc.).

Arthur - 26, cook. Formerly a pharmacist, he was disgraced after an experimental drug of his creation almost killed a patient (in truth it was his boss' fault, who pushed for using the medicine despite his subordinate's protests and put all the blame on him to save his own skin). Tests the drugs he creates on himself at times (under strict supervision) and is a coffee addict.

thanks i'm very amused by them incidentally as evidenced here, on Henry Cavill Glitch Day, you could just about squeeze out some other people, but none with the ease or results of Cavill. It's so mysterious. "Ben, other prompt, Affleck" worked a bit but I hated the results, Paul Rudd could be turned into a very pasty sad old man, and you could get a bad approximation of Matt LeBlanc only if you used "Matt LeBlanc Joey Tribbiani." Charlie Hunnam also worked but not in a very interesting way. I scraped many barrels to end up at James Corden (why was that so effective?!), and many other names suggested the AI was choosing to ignore them, and after a few warnings I was suspended. also at that point, "blond hair" made everyone have a stringy blond bob, and "egyptian man" was always interpreted as "man wearing tacky Pharoah costume" which i later exploited on purpose OH and the one where the guy is shooting two tiny guns at his belly is because i tried to get the Mission Impossible version of Henry Cavill lol

Happy birthday to our favorite chaos bisexual baby boi, Alex! I am almost at the finished line for this chapter. I'm determined to post today, so stay tuned, folks. Wordy little bastard Alex has a lot to say and a lot of FEELS. ENJOY!

As they exited the cemetery, Henry turned to him and asked, “Would you indulge me one more cemetery tour?” Alex nodded, something in Henry’s eyes telling him this was important. They walked down the street until they found an appropriate place to cross. Henry led them up to the open gate that read Holt Cemetery. Compared to the grandeur of the place they just left, Holt looked rundown and neglected. The gravestones were worn and crooked, some lined with PVC pipe or broken mini-picket fences, and decorated with mementos from loved ones. He took Henry’s hand and squeezed it as they walked along the gravel drive. “Somewhere in here,” Henry said softly, “may lie the remains of four men, victims of a gay bar fire in 1973 called the Upstairs Lounge.” “May?” Henry’s jaw tightened. “Many older records were destroyed after Katrina. Some say the victims, one, possibly two, who have been identified, were buried here or in the Charity Hospital Cemetery nearby. Their bodies were so damaged, they were never identified or claimed. One man’s family, Ferris LeBlanc, didn’t even know he’d died in the fire until 2015. In total, thirty-two men died that night, the deadliest attack on a queer space until Pulse in Orlando.” “Jesus fucking Christ,” Alex hissed. “Was anyone ever charged?” Henry shook his head. “There was a suspect, a man who had been ejected about twenty minutes before the fire started, but it ultimately went nowhere. It was just a bunch of queers who had it coming, right?” “How did you learn about this?” “A documentary,” Henry replied. They paused, and Henry held their joined hands against his chest. “I have a vested interest in the history of our community because the mainstream media and so-called educators still seek to bury it.” Alex swallowed thickly as he scanned the cemetery. As the son of a Mexican immigrant, he knew all too well how hard the system fought to suppress those they deemed as “other.” It occurred to him that so much of the real history of this country hadn’t been taught to him in the classroom but through books, documentaries, and people like Henry. People determined not to let their history fade into obscurity. “I don’t mean to preach-” Alex stopped him. “No, you’re not. And you’re right. These men deserve to be remembered. Thank you for sharing this with me. I’ve only been for about a year, and I’ve still got so much more I need to learn.” “That’s the first step,” Henry smiled. “The worst thing you can do as a young queer person is live in willful ignorance because the people in power are counting on it. Pride Month is about so much more than celebrating who we are. It’s about remembering those who we’ve lost, who didn’t get the chance to live openly as we do now.” Alex felt a lump growing in his throat. He wrapped his arms around Henry and squeezed tight. Henry huffed a laugh but returned his embrace, murmuring, “I’d kiss you right now, but that would be grossly inappropriate, given our current location.” “Good call.”

There are so many bonding moments between A&H in this chapter, but this is one I'm proud of. As a queer person myself, Henry was channeling me as I too think it is beyond vital that queer people learn their history, the bad and the good.
