perona + drucilla

one way perona bonds with drucilla is grooming her; whether it’s braiding and combing drucilla’s hair (she loves her hair), or even washing her fur in her cat form, or even just combing through her fur and getting any pesky pests out that she’s picked up in her strolls. usually, she’s yapping away while she does so, but she appreciates that drucilla lets her without telling her she’s noisy or too much. she knows she can be too much (it’s a matter of not really caring), but she likes that drucilla really listens to her.

robin + drucilla

i like to think that robin and drucilla often just missed each other during their travels and in some way, it’s almost like fate that they meet given their shared history with ohara. robin had to hop around a lot since she was a child. it could be that they were in the same sea, the crews that robin’s joined have been in alliance or in battle with the siren pirates, and it could be that they were often after similar artifacts or within the same island looking for different things.

iselda + law

sometimes, when the navy was getting too close to tracking down the heart pirates before law became a warlord but had become one of the established rookies in the worst generation, iselda would falsify reports of where they'd been spotted. she couldn't do it every time because it would soon draw suspicion. but, she would throw them slightly off course or send in false reports to send the navy on a wild goose chase. she never tells him this because she feels he would hate the idea of her trying to protect him.

zephyr + nami

when nami was a baby, zephyr would love to try to make her laugh, pulling funny faces and doing all sorts of antics just to hear her bubbly laughter. when they meet much later on, before nami sails off or when they're seeing each other off, he makes a silly face at her regardless if it makes her laugh or not.

rayleigh + shakky

i feel like in a modern au, rayleigh + shakky are those cute older couples that coordinate their outfits (same color scheme, details, fabric design, etc.). they're just in love with each other like that, and i could see rayleigh being a fashionable guy in a modern au. shakky elevates his outfits a lot more though or balances them out, and they have fun doing that together.

luffy + shanks

luffy is very much looking forward to fighting shanks. i think at the back of his mind, he knows it's going to be a serious battle. it's not really gonna be friendly, there will be bloodshed. but, he wants to show shanks how strong he's gotten and to not be underestimated anymore. of course, he was a child when he was asking to be on shanks' crew, but he wants to show him that he's capable of even surpassing him. i think out of every emperor, he believes shanks will be the strongest.

ace + rogue

in an au where rogue lives, i can see ace being protective of her, but also knowing that if anyone wrongs her, they're definitely the ones who should be scared because rogue can 100% handle herself. i think he tells scary stories of her just to freak people out, especially to luffy and sabo. while half of them may have some truth to it, ace embellishes a lot.

nami + sanji

whenever nami is feeling tense or has had a long day in the map room, sanji offers to give her a massage. his hands are strong from all the work he does in the kitchen, but precise as well and can be gentle when necessary. it's a little treat she looks forward to when she's had a particularly long day.

kaya + chopper

chopper and kaya stay up late together every now and then doing research and testing medicines. when kaya develops poisons, chopper helps create antidotes in case her materials were ever used against them / in case of emergencies. they have started a catalog together of all the medicines they've created.

The need to push him away clashes with the need to keep him close. We didn't come from the same parents anyway! she remembers yelling at Bell-mère, tired of their unending poverty. We're not real sisters! To find out she still had birth family was beyond anything she could have imagined.

Where were you? She's trying to be kind, even as he feels like an outlier on their ship. He's all she has left of the past, Nojiko is all she has left of the middle, and now she's fitting them both into the next chapter of her story.

Nami pulls her Clima-Tact from the holster on her thigh, and shakes it a little as she calls out Zeus. The little thundercloud greets her with a sleepy yawn, like a housecat woken from a nap. "My partner, Zeus. Picked him up from an Emperor."

"more like weather witch." zoro grumbles from behind her, not even faltering as he ducks the swing nami aims at his head. he touches the back of zephyr's shoulder as he moves past, briefly, before brushing a hand down nami's arm in much the same manner, fleeting but reassuring all the same.

with a nod to them both, he forgoes the stairs and hops right over the railing to land on the lawn below, which naturally draws sanji over and soon enough the two are tussling across the deck with luffy egging them on from the sidelines, damn brat. zephyr can see the smiles on their faces though, when zoro flips the cook over his shoulder and gets a kick to the knee for his efforts. beside aer nami shakes her head, fond.

"some things never change." with mock exasperation, zephyr sighs in agreement and settles in for the long haul.

brief bio. during the events of the war in okyot kingdom, he and his younger sister, nami, are separated. a couple revolutionary army operatives find zephyr and protect him, later finding him someplace to live with a loving family. later, however, craving adventure and justice against those oppressed, he contacts the revolutionary army and asks to join them.

or, Luffy and Zoro have a few things that need resolving after the events of Whiskey Peak.

to cut your teeth on love: Zoro meets Luffy and gives himself over wholeheartedly the instant Wadō is placed between his teeth again. Luffy meets Zoro and decides in a heartbeat that Zoro is his.

the sea makes bones of bodies: At the question (or maybe just Nami, a reprieve from talking to Zoro—who he's still vaguely afraid of) Usopp perks up. “Kind of! I mean, yeah—the big Sun God in the Trench. But also the sea gods themselves, and the missing Moon God—it’s a whole thing,” he says, waving his hands as Nami crosses the deck, book tucked under her arm. Usopp trails off again but she gestures him onward and plops next to Zoro, dangling her feet over the open water, too.

“Go on,” she says.

He stares at them both before letting out a strangled kind of, “Do you actually want to know?”

Zoro and Nami exchange a look. “We have a keen interest in the local wildlife,” Zoro drawls, and Nami snorts out a laugh. The sound startles Usopp, who might be one of the most skittish people Zoro has ever met—second only to Koby, maybe.

Nami elbows Zoro in the side, trying (and failing) to hide her smile as he flips her the middle finger in return. “Local legends, then,” she amends.

Spin a Yarn: Luffy and Zoro time travel back to the early days and split up, in order to change the events of the first timeline for the better. Of course, they find their way back to one another eventually.

challenge: “You don’t have a romantic bone in your big, dumb body,” Sanji quips, giving Zoro a hearty shove.

riptide: Luffy unhinges his jaw and crams an entire breakfast ham down his throat. He chews reflectively a moment and then demands, “Zoro, you wanna have a date tonight?”

Zoro answers by inhaling the rest of his orange juice through his nose and promptly spewing it everywhere.

“That a yes?”

Luffy and Zoro destroy a restaurant, end up lost, get in a bar fight with a bunch of pirates and go on their first date. Not necessarily in that order.

zephyr: “I think I could beat you with one hand and blindfolded,” Zoro adds which makes Luffy laugh again. It doesn’t really take that much to make Luffy laugh but Zoro likes when he’s the cause of it anyway. He likes the way Luffy throws his head all the way back, the way his whole face crinkles up, the way that he laughs like he’s not afraid of anything. It’s probably weird, noticing these things about Luffy. Which doesn’t mean that Zoro doesn’t do it — notice.

In which Luffy kisses Zoro twice, and Zoro still fails to take a hint.

The Sun Plays: “Can you stop him? He’s been flinging himself back and forth more than usual. A bit dangerous,” Nami said.

“Why me?" Zoro cracked an eye open. "He’s not going to listen to me."

“Oh, he will. More than us,” Nami said with a pleased smile.

we got lost in each other (cause time wasn't catching us): Dribbles and oneshots that take place throughout canon as I watch the show. Pairings will include ZoLu and probably eventual NamiSan. That may change as I keep watching.

Some fics will be more shippy than others. Also, it will feature different POV characters.

turn off the lights (come and lay with me): He can feel Luffy’s breath against his throat—slow and steady—and he automatically wraps an arm around the other’s waist, hand curling over his hip.

“Go to sleep, Captain,” he says softly. “You need rest just as much as I do.”

(Or, Zoro would do anything for his captain and Luffy just wants his swordsman to be safe)

feed your plants a little sunlight: Instead of napping, Zoro helps. It is his job, after all.

my main issue with Film Z is that nothing really happend in it! Why should care about when there are really no stakes?

I didn't feel anything for Zed, and Strawhats barely did anything and didn't have any real reason o be fighting Zed in the first place (Other than the fact 4 of their crewmembers were de-aged)

yeah but nothing came of it. Like it isn't even resolved it just, stops being a priority.

I really don't understand why so many people say it's "The Best" One Piece film. Like, have you SEEN Strong World or Baron Omatsuri? Because those films just completely blow Z out of the water.

anyway, long story short; film Z is overrated, and the true best one piece films are Strong World and Baron Omatsuri.

Her fingers find the familiar grooves in the tangerine that allow for perfect puncturing. Nami works in tender quiet as she pulls the fruit from its skin, placing it on a nearby scrap of cloth, and continues molding the hard rind into the shape she wants. It doesn't move much without a stick to hold it up and allow the wind to turn it, but it's still evidently a pinwheel.

She holds it out, a rarer softer smile pulling at her lips. "Yours, if you want." Nami sets it aside, and breaks the tangerine in half to share. "From my personal trees."
