sometimes I think it can be fun to incorporate both original names and localizations into lore... in the underground the band that makes all the stage music is known as OCTOTOOL but when inklings found the master recordings in a trash bin near Inkopolis Tower and decided to put them all together onto an album and release it (canon information) they called the artist Turquoise October because they had no fucking clue who made it but the name sounded pretty :)

#prince talks #'band' is also very loose I think of it like. collaboration/compilation album. there's waaaaay more tracks on the album than #we ever get to see in canon. It is entirely possible there's a Marina song on there.#If they got properly released on sea spotify it would be like. find me on artfight! i've decided to be team seafoam for now, but it's a tough pick this year so we'll see if it sticks :'D

i know that historically i've been pretty prolific, and currently my stats are at a perfect 50% battle ratio (equal number attacks and defenses) - but last year marked the tides shifting to a point where i'm unable revenge every single person who attacks me. i think i did around 50 pieces in 2023 and i could not close that gap! it's absolutely incredible that so many people wanted to draw my characters, but i also know it's in large part because i have promised to return the favour to the best of my ability.

uuunfortunately i can't make that promise this year! i'm going to be pretty busy and genuinely don't know how much time and spoons i'll have for making art, so please take that into account if you're planning to attack me!

Been a couple of years, but I still think fondly of Grace Monroe from Infinity Train for achieving that very rare redemption arc narrative of "the people you hurt are allowed to sever all ties, and you can still become a better, happier person."

#grace monroe #grace infinity train #infinity train #in a sea of demands that you must always forgive the people who hurt you no matter what #it was nice to see a plot that gave good weight to feelings and motivations on both side of the equation #hm.#come to think of it #it seems a lot of redemption arcs usually go the route #of redemption through death #or very quick if not immediate acceptance into team the people you traumatized #much more rare to see a redemption arc #where the one on the journey to redemption has to accept that at least some people they've hurt can't or won't forgive them #but that this doesn't automatically mean they can't become a kinder person #hell in grace's case it was pretty shocking/refreshing to see that it was precisely because someone set a hard no-contact boundary with her #that she lost someone she loved but still hurt #which really forced her to reconsider what she was doing #it was a true 'oh no not the quencies' kind of story #but also a 'you will accept the quencies and go forward with your life & hard gained knowledge' narrative #redemption arcs

My wife raises geese and their eggs are huge, 3x the size of a hen’s eggs, and are generally fluffier and delicately sweeter.

I do! They taste like an egg.

Sea Serpent Hobie who is huge but still manages to hide perfectly in the kelp forests!

Who has bioluminescence and uses it both to terrify enemies and as a way to calm down people in distress, as a way for him to signal goodwill - and to show off when he feels like it!

Who can change his pigmentation similarly to octopi to communicate his mood and feelings! Or just to blend in with his surroundings (also as a nod to the way he changes filters in the movie!)

Sea Serpent Hobie who's frequently seen swimming with whale pods- Orcas being his favourites to hang out with (they sometimes go on yacht sinking trips together)
