everyones more than welcome to send me asks about stuff* btw, i know i havent been that good in answering, but i think thats largely bc i always want to do too much, like .. drawing entire character design sheets and everything and then never having the energy or motivation for it so it sits around like all of my hundreds of wips i never finished bc i lost energy/motivation, waiting for it to come back .. which might never happen (and i still dont know how to handle compliments ,, i might never will tbh- if i havent answered a compliment its very very likely i dont know how to properly convey my gratitude- feeling like theres no amount of things i can do or say to 'pay back'? ... kinda weird if you think about it .. but i am weird so what do i know jsklfnhsdk, i promise you i treasure it)

So the first issue of the new run was running at a break-neck speed. You can tell they want to set up a bunch of stuff quickly to get the plot going. A criticism I remember a lot about the previous run was that it sometimes felt meandering, so we shall see if the new run can maintain this speed, and if that'll even be a good thing? I do sort of hope it'll slow down a bit once we get further into the plot

Books of 2024: ORDINARY MONSTERS by J. M. Miro.

Swinging from a teeny tiny read (A SHINING) to this behemoth, which weighs in at 658 pages (that's like. uh. nine (9) SHININGs, never mind about the word density per page).

Did I know this is the first book in a trilogy? No. Did I know the trilogy is not yet complete?? Also no. Will that stop me from reading it now anyway??? Wow, you guessed it: No.

I'm always down books featuring corvids in the cover art and kids with mysterious powers, AND the "man made of smoke" that the jacket promises sounds Very Intriguing. All I know going into this book is what the jacket tells me, though, so I'm excited to be surprised!

🌿 Daneryn Mahariel - She's pragmatic, somewhat cold and quick to give sass, but underneath she's a very kindhearted person. She's easily irritated and acts prickly almost constantly. She lacks social graces and is very inept at handling her own emotions... So practically a tsundere 😭 After Tamlen died, she tried to close herself off completely.... But she fell for Alistairs silly boy swag anyway 💀 She thinks Anora is a great queen and sees no reason to rock the boat by giving up her bf... Alistair sees she's far more gentle than she lets on, and he gets her to come more out of her shell by always making her laugh. Duncan practically had to drag her to Ostagar, but she came to accept the leaving her clan was for the best.

🌿 Issala Adaar - She's a mage qunari, so obviously she didn't fit in anywhere growing up, but she's incredibly optimistic despite it all and has a great distaste for authority. She's also a raging lesbian, so all of these factored in together made her immediately fall head over heels for Sera, the goofiest wife in the history of Thedas. She never wanted to be the Inquisitor and she certainly didn't believe she was Andrastes herald. To the surprise of no one, her best friends are Dorian and Solas. Cole is her favorite little guy and her closeness with him annoys Sera, but that doesn't dissuade her even remotely 🤭

🌿 Alina de Riva - She has a dispassionate demeanor that belies her inner fire. She tends not to speak often and rarely ever raises her voice, but when she does, she surprises everyone with just how shrill her yelling is 😭 She's incredibly starved for contact and is unused to people being genuine or gentle with her, so when Emmrich is immediately nothing but kind and patient, her first instinct is to write him off. But she pretty quickly develops feelings for him and becomes the biggest dilf chaser in Thedas 💀 She teaches him about the hobbies she picked up from her mother's profession and he teaches her about literally everything she doesn't specifically stop him from talking about. (she never interrupts him, she literally lives off of his lectures)

Not adding Hawke bc I just use default Marian Hawke bc she's perfect and I can't possibly change it 😔
