Abled neurotypical people love to pull out the “not everything needs to be tailored to you!!” when disabled people are literally just asking that you don’t talk down to people who can’t prioritize the super “easy” lifestyle choices you promote.

#like im not saying you as an abled person have to make videos on how curly haired disabled people can more easily style their hair #(tho that would be cool)#im saying ‘hey maybe don’t imply that people who say they don’t have the time/energy to do this are lazy and/or stupid.’#…that’s literally it!!#even if someone is completely abled… if they don’t want to spend a lot of time on their hair that doesn’t make them ‘bad at prioritizing’#when hair styling is obviously very cosmetic #it has personal importance to a lot of people but if some ppl decide they don’t want to do all that #what right does that give you to say they ‘dont have their priorities straight’?? It’s not like a moral failing #or even something that is physically bad for them #I swear you will ask abled people to just not needlessly shame people when they are explaining something #and they’ll be like ‘oh so it’s *my* responsibility to think about how my words affect other people??’#like… yes. yes it is.

When I was younger and researching the autism diagnosis criteria and symptoms, I thought “oh I couldn’t POSSIBLY be autistic.” Because when I read “takes everything literally” I thought it literally meant EVERYTHING and I was like “I don’t take EVERYTHING literally, just most things!” And I just realized the other day that it didn’t actually mean EVERYTHING and that was an overstatement.

"thank you, i am unwell because the incident was hurtful to me due to my childhood, which was bad." I CANT!!!!

do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!
