Ugh I have a problem with watching and liking cancelled shows. Like, let me be happy once. There's a reason I gave up tv. Anyway, shoutout to The Hollow for making me lose sleep, and write this at like 2 in the morning. Watch it if you haven't, but....

every time someone says something cringe about kids’ cartoons people take it as an excuse to say that watching cartoons as an adult means you’re a sexual predator, or say shit like “leave the cartoons to the kids” like there’s a limited amount of people who can stream a video online, or go and take screenshots of people saying something like “i’m watching the clifford movie and i’m having fun” and act like they’re pointing a gun to their head and forcing them to watch it too. the few people who actually refuse to watch more mature shows are an excuse to accuse people who occasionally watch cartoons of heinous shit. that’s not encouraging people to broaden their tastes, you’re just being shitty to people you find cringe but since you’re on tumblr you need to be morally righteous about it

SHE'S TAKING MY HUSBAND!
Child Y/n and Child Xiao: *Hanging out playing with each other. Morax and the other adepti are watching over them.*
Cloud retainer: *Looking at the two playing before focusing her attention on Xiao* I should probably take him for his lessons.
Morax: *Sips his drink lot looking up from the table* I wouldn't do that if I were you
Cloud retainer: *Ignores Morax and picks up Xiao* It's time for your lesson Xiao
Child Y/n: *eyes widen and trying to pull Xiao back down* No! Don't take Xiao!
Cloud retainer: *Looks down at Child Y/n trying to calm them down* Now Y/n he needs to do his lesson
Child Y/n: *Starts to scream and looks at Morax absolutely devastated Xiao wasn't playing with them* SHE'S TAKING MY HUSBAND!
Morax: *spits out his tea and starts to chuckle*
Cloud retainer: *Looks at child Y/n surprised and puts Xiao down unsure what to do now* Very well then...
Child Xiao: *Blushes not understanding what's going on as Child Y/n hugs him, then looks behind Y/n to stare at Morax* What's a husband?
Morax: *Walks up to the two kids and ruffles Xiao's hair* I'll tell you later

As someone who has incidentally overheard bluey on several occasions i want to be the reverse of those adults that swear it's the best thing ever and everyone should watch it. i want to be the disproportionate bluey hater. the messaging on that show is deeply capitalist and authoritarian, outlining key social values of private ownership and filial piety. I felt genuinely sick listening to an episode whose central premise and moral was to unquestioningly listen to anyone who's "been on earth longer than you," because kids know nothing and have no cognitive faculties worth considering so they should shut up and stop asking annoying questions when adults tell them what's right. there were several times where i'm in shock at the degree of genuine contempt the show has for children it's not unique in this, of course. I think most shows in its age demographic are the same. but today i am the disproportionate bluey hater.

What about a blurb with P asking for the reader because she hasn't seen her in a while? And Lando tells her you're flying over and they arrange a playdate for you
Note: this is easily the cutest video I've ever seen of them 🥹
"Look! It's Lando! Can I go?", the British driver heard as he hung out outside of the hospitality, getting some fresh air before he had to go to the meeting room,
"P!", he cheered, finding the source of the voice, "you're here for the race this weekend?", he mused.
"Yes, me and mama came to watch Maxie race!", she said excitedly as she hugged Lando.
"That's a nice idea - are you enjoying it? I like your backpack", he smiled at the kanguru like backpack, giving Kelly a quick greeting before turning his attention back to the little girl.
"Is Y/N here with you?", Penelope asked, looking around for you.
"She's flying over today! She should be here in a couple of hours", Lando smiled as she nuzzled her head on his tummy, "do you miss her?".
"Yes, I do! I haven't seen her in so looong", P extended the word with a groan as Lando petted her head slightly, "do you think she'll want to come play with me? Me and Maxie found some swings yesterday", she smiled.
"I bet she will - I don't think she's coming to the paddock today, but tomorrow she will be here, and you can tell her all about those cartoons you showed me the other day too!", Lando suggested.
"Yes! Mama! Me and Y/N have a playdate tomorrow!", she yelled as Kelly approached them after she snapped a couple of pictures at the cute moment.
"Is that so, hm? Did she say yes to it or are you making everyone follow your lead? Her teacher says she's always bossing the other kids around", she mused.
"She's not here, but Lando says she's flying today and tomorrow we have a playdate - we have to bring my iPad so I can show her the new Bluey episode - do you know if she's seen if?", Penelope asked.
"I'm sure she hasn't", Lando assumed, "which means you'll get to show her for the first time, darling!", he smiled.
"Yes! Tomorrow, we'll come here to find Y/N - tell her that I like her a lot and that I can't wait, okay?", Penelope asked.
"I will - say hi to Max for me too?", he stretched his pinky finger to lace it in her much smaller one.
"That was cute actually", Zak said once they were back inside the hospitality.
"She loves Y/N, which also means I gave her a free pass to steal my girlfriend for the whole weekend", Lando mumbled, "might have not been the best decision considering I haven't seen her in two weeks and I would very much like to keep her all to myself".
"Should've thought about it first as I'm not sure you can compete with Bluey - that episode is very fluffy!".
(Thank you for sending this in ✨️)

20 Minutes | dad!peter imagine
A/N: just a quick one before I sleep. I saw a gif from we live in time and just suddenly became very needy for some dad Peter again. It’s been a little while, hope you enjoy. If you know the Bluey episode that inspired, you are a real one and I have love for you. Also MJ stands for May Junior
Warnings: this is just some dad!peter fluff, everyday domestic parent stuff even though your hubby is the local superhero
Tumblr media
The moment he climbs through the window, he’s already wishing he was back in the other side of it.
“Ahhh good, you’re home.” You say cheerfully as you enter the room. “Here, hold this.” You say, holding out your two and a half month old to him, just as a cry of “Muuuuuuuuumm!” called out to down the hall.
“What? The? Huh? What?” Peter frowns at you confused as he stands in the middle of the room in his spider suite, toddler in his outstretched hands as you’re already beginning to leave the room, another call of “muuuuuuuuummm!” echoing down the hall.
“I just need 20 minutes.” You tell him.
“But I just got in.” He protests.
“20 minutes.” You reason cheerfully, like it’s no time at all and he will be fine.
“Maaaaaaaahhhhmmm!” The voice down the hall comes again and he can see the way your shoulders rise and the corners of your lip twitch at your 4 year olds whine of your household moniker.
“Daddy’s coming in just a minute!” You call back to the young girl out in the living room.
“Can I at least take the suit off?” Peter tries to reason as the toddler in his hand starts to pull at the stretchy material.
“Just 20 minutes.” You repeat to him again as you begin to back away. “20 minutes.” You say. You can hear his small frustrated huff that no doubt was paired with the famous Parker eye roll, but you didn’t care. If you didn’t get 20 minutes to yourself and a moment to go to the bathroom in peace, you were probably going to throw yourself out of the window your husband just climbed through.
Okay maybe that was a little dramatic, but in your defence he had been out longer than he said he would on patrol and MJ has regressed back into her clingy phase. As you locked the bathroom door and pulled out your phone in order to have a quick scroll through social media and a catch up whilst you sat on the loo, the reason for your husbands tardiness quickly became apparent.
There was video after video popping up of footage from peoples phones of Spider-Man saving a family from a car wreck. As you watched the masked figure swing into action again and again from different angles, watched him pull the two kids from the back of the burning car, your irritation before quickly subsided, instead making way for pride; for your husband, his family values, his care for the people of your community. Memory after memory of him sharing both special and also mundane moments with your two children flooded your mind, making your heart glow and your tummy all fuzzy and warm.
When you eventually emerged from the bathroom 20 minutes later and made your way back down the hall, that fuzzy feeling only grew as you saw him sat on the sofa with your two children tucked in tightly to either side of him. He had put on your fluffy robe over the top of his suit, the legs and sleeves poking out beneath the pink fabric comically, as he read a book to them.
As he turned the last page, MJ cried, “Again, again, read it again daddy.”
“But May, I’ve already read it to you three times. Maybe we should give another book a go.” He tried to sway her.
“Again!” She insisted and you loved the way he laughed with her as she giggled at her own cheekiness.
He looked up to you then as you leant against the door frame, hopefully. “Or maybe Mommy can read it.” He stated.
“Orrr,” you began to counter as you saw May’s eyes light up at the sight of you and the prospect of you reading her, her favourite book of the moment for the umpteenth time that day, “we could go out for ice cream.” You suggested.
There was a piercing shriek as May got up from the sofa at the sound of the trigger word. “IIICCCEEEECREEEEAAMM!” She screeched before running off to find her shoes.
“Ice cream?” Peter asks with raised brow as he stands to hand off your youngest back to you.
“Yeah,” you say with a coy smile, “I think we’ve all earned it.”
“Well, if that’s the case, I best go get out of this suit then.” He muses.
“Oh really?” You whine. “But this is such a good look on you.” You joke.
“It’s a good thing I love you Mrs Parker.” He grins, a leaning forward to kiss your lips.
“I love you too.” You smile.
“IIIICCEEEEE CRRREEEAAAMMM!” May bellowed excitedly as she came back in the room, her shoes on the wrong feet and her jacket inside out. Both of you couldn’t help but laugh.
“You get changed, I’ll help her out.” You smile.
“I love you.” He says again as he begins to back away. “You’re my hero!” He shouted across the room to you, reminding you your just as resilient and heroic as he was- and sure, you couldn’t swing from buildings or save kids from the back of burning cars, but you could look after both your kids alone for 6-8 hours of the day and live to tell the tail; and that in itself was a heroic act too.

I was forced to watch kids cartoon called Sheriff Labrador and I'm too embarrassed to admit that I kinda enjoyed it (-_-;)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Long chatter below (it is long. I'm not joking)
So umm basically it's a Babybus YouTube cartoon and it is exactly the quality you expect from youtube kids show
It's not secretly good or something the whole family can enjoy like "Bluey". It's just okay and yet here I am dumping bunch of art about it, idk how this works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My sibling made me watch it and while I'm at it let me tell you about some things I actually enjoyed about this cartoon
Umm first of all if I watched this cartoon as a kid I just know I would've had a huge crush on this fucking cartoon Labrador, he's just the type I really liked (still do) — responsible, perfect, good at everything adult in kids show (the other character close to this is Sportacus from "Lazytown" which I did watch as a child and did have a crush on this sports dude so that checks out)
Second — the themes. This cartoon teaches kids safety so I expected some basic stuff like "Don't play with fire" or "Don't cross the road on red". And I was actually surprised when the first ever episode I saw was about food delivery and how you should always read reviews before ordering something online. Idk maybe I haven't watched modern kids show in a while but I think it's cool that they talk about that kind of stuff (and ! there was also an episode about AI face swapping! wow modern problems ig)
Also an episode that stuck with me was about a pool. I saw the video preview and thought "yeah pools.. don't run.. don't drown.. basic stuff" and while later I discovered that they have an episode about safety at pools, this specific episode was about something else. It taught children to never go with strangers anywhere and never let them touch your private parts. The episode literally showed a bad character grabbing the child and taking him away, then the child was rescued when police came in with the words "Don't touch the child, that's illegal!"
I'm writing this not because I "criticize" the show for it, I actually think it's important to show what actually can happen to you if you go with strangers, it was just a surreal experience when I watched two cartoon police dogs arresting a cartoon representation of an actual pedophile and then hearing this said character cry and say "I'm sorry, I won't do this again!" Like...wow... I fucking hope you won't because you're going to cartoon jail forever 💀
I also was really surprised when I discovered the show actually has small fandom on tiktok let's goo??
TL;DR This is a show for little kids and I accidentally got hooked because of my sibling

On occasion, I swear I get undertones from the side of the fandom that liked the season 5 finale that “if you didn’t enjoy it, you must not be smart enough to understand it”…
But… that’s kind of a really stupid argument?
Is this not a TV show intended for 5-12 year olds? If the writing is too complicated for a grown adult to understand, then they have failed at writing a good kids show. Point blank period.
You can write a good kids show that has elements that go right over the kids heads, but those elements should be subtle bonuses that mildly improve the story. They should not be a key part of the overall message. A great little example is this scene from Bluey where the titular character finds an obnoxious "lost" toy hidden under the sink in the laundry room:
youtube
Adults and older kids watch this scene and immediately get why the toy was under the sink, but little kids probably miss it. That's not a problem because the sink thing is just a bonus joke that is not vital to the message of this episode. If the sink joke was vital to understanding the message, then the writers would have failed at their job because they wrote something too subtle for the intended audience.
That's why I'm so critical of everything Miraculous is doing. Even if there's ultimately going to be an amazing story here, they've failed to tell it in a way that the intended audience can engage with and that makes the story objectively bad no matter how good it is for older viewers. The lessons should be obvious. The jokes should be obvious, too. There should be no question about what the message is.*
The season five ending is a perfect example of why Miraculous is objectively bad for its intended audience. Lets say that season six is going to address all of the issues with Gabriel and tell us that he was an abusive monster. How powerful is that lesson going to be to the five-year-old who grows out of the show in the year between season five ending and season six airing? What about the kid who obsessively rewatches seasons one to five in the hiatus between seasons and internalizes the happy ending? Or the kid who only watches the show casually and doesn't remember most of the early seasons by the time their issue are addressed?
Obviously those kids won't walk away with a great lesson, which is why shows aimed at kids usually make their morals clear by the end of every episode. Complex morals told over seasons are a bad fit here. Kids in the show's intended age group are only just starting to really learn about the complexities of the world. They generally don't have the life experience to question the show's morals.
That's not to say that shows for kids can't have cliffhangers. The cliffhangers just need to be about the story, not the morals. Season four was a good example of this. While I don't think it was a great final, it did have a clear message. It ends with Ladybug stating what she'd supposedly done wrong - even if season four didn't actually have her do what she said she did - and the question was only what would she do now. There was no moral ambiguity about what happened. Every episode of Miraculous should feel that way, but the show often fails at this. There's way to much ambiguity for a kids show. The fact that many adults can't tell if Gabriel was evil or not is a terrible sign!
*I will note that even perfectly clear messages can be twisted into baffling shapes by viewers of all ages and people will read into things in ways that leave even talented writers scratching their heads. The pigeon thing comes to mind as a good, Miraculous-based example of poor media literacy. So I wouldn't go so far as to say that a kids show is always bad if adults misinterpret things. It depends on how widespread the misinterpretation is and how logical the misreading is. The season five ending is a good example of a true issue because it's played like a happy ending. It's not weird that some people took that at face value while others are waiting for the other shoe to drop. Only time will tell which side is right, which should not be the case when we're dealing with content like the widespread manipulation of an abuse victim in a show aimed at children. That should be presented as unequivocally wrong. Instead, the lies lead to a kiss and happy smiles.

omg hello! since requests are open and all, I want to request kenma, Suna and atsumu and Oikawa with a reader who gets happy over the most childish thinsg
I got a shadow the hedgehog plush backpack from one of my brothers and I was so happy for like a week straight
HQ BOYS WITH AN S/O WHOS LOVES CHILDISH THINGS
a/n: THIS IS LITERALLY ME. i still watch disney movies and kids shows bcs they're just so nostalgic and wonderlicious
warnings: suna's is a little ooc but wtv im in a fluffy duffy mood
Tumblr media
suna, atsumu, and oikawa x reader (separate)
Tumblr media
S. RINTARO
he finds it so cute
he loves how he can give you something like a plushie or a lollipop and you get all happy and smiley
he just loves it. he loves you!
he's addicted to the way your eyes light up and brighten the room when a funny scene comes on in the kids show you're watching
literally anyone could see the way his eyes soften whenever you get all happy over something childish
he just finds it so stinking adorable
but ofc, he also has to tease you about it
its all in good fun, he loves it so much
you giggled happily and twirled around with the cute little plushie that rin had just given you. it was soft and fluffy and warm and had the cutest ears and just made you so happy.
unbeknownst to you, rin was staring at you lovingly with a tender gaze, wondering to himself how he got someone so cute.
you were the light rin needed. when he got down and dark, you were the light that pulled him back up. and he found the fact that you loved stuff like this SO CUTE
contrary to what he was thinking, he smirked and began to tease you about it. "it makes you that happy? what are you, a baby?"
you beamed. "your baby!"
he cringed slightly, but then let out a loving sigh as he curled an arm around you.
"i guess so."
Tumblr media
M. ATSUMU
he loves everything about you, and that includes your love for childish things
whenever you have a cute reaction to something childish, he has to fight the urge to spin you around in a tight hug and pepper your face with kisses and tell you how cute that was
he fails most of the time
he doesn't really think its weird or tease you about it or anything
i firmly believe that atsumu still sleeps with his childhood stuffie, so he thinks its cute that you guys are kinda similar in that aspect
also, hes just a ginormous child, so uh
it was a peaceful sunday afternoon, and you guys were watching bluey together. then, during the magic xylophone episode in the scene where bluey's dad played bluey like a piano and tickled her silly, he paused the show and quickly pounced on you and dug his fingers into your ribs.
"you're MY magic xylophone! ping ping ping! ping ping! pururururuing!" he shouted, kneading and knocking at your ribs
"tsuhuhumu, stahahap!" you giggled trying weakly to fight his hands off
"hmm.. i think that i should get some more practice in, don'tcha think?" he teased, continually prodding at the sensitive area.
"NAHAHA TSUHU- *HIC!*"
you both paused at the little hiccup you gave. it was silent for a moment before atsumu grabbed you and spun you around, laughing as you giggled and "wheee!"'d.
"yer so freakin' cute im gonna die!" he laughed as he peppered your face with kisses.
you giggled as you two settled back down on the couch together, cuddling up with each other and your favorite stuffies.
he sighed contentedly as he leaned his head on you, melting into your warmth as you did the same.
he honestly loved moments where he could be childish without being judged like this with the person he loved most in the world. (he internally apologized to his ma)
Tumblr media
O. TOORU
little brat but its ok
he really likes bubbles, as do you
sometimes when its nice out, the two of you will just blow bubbles and just watch in mesmerization
(sometimes in the shower too!)
hes also really into disney
he hid it before, but once he started dating you, one of his favorite at-home date activities is watching disney movies together!
frozen is his fav
he knows all the lyrics to all the frozen songs and sings along everytime
hes your little princess
"LET IT GOOOO" tooru screeched in your ear. "LET IT GOOOOOOO! CAN'T HOLD IT BACK AAAANYMO-O-ORE"
"LET IT GOOOO" you screeched in his ear. "LET IT GO-O-O, TURN AWAY AND SLAM THE DOOOOR"
"I DON'T CARE"
"WHAT THEY'RE GOING TO SAY"
"LET THE STORM RAGE OOOOOOOOON" tooru held the high note, his voice cracking a couple times.
"the cold never bothered me anyway" *hairflip*
you two plopped your butts back down on the couch heavily, tired and out of breath from the karaoke session.
"you did really well, princess" he complimented, voice breathy.
"you... you, too." you replied, "princess."
"HEY" he cried, clinging onto you. "i'm your PRINCE, remember?"
you grinned. "i think princess suits you better."
"y/n-chaaaaaaan!" he whined, shaking you, "you're so mean!"
you couldn't help but laugh at his childish antics, hiding your face slightly with your olaf plushie
"i love you."
you stopped short, giving him a curious look.
"you're the one for me."
you simply smiled in return. "as are you for me."
"Y/N-CHAN LOOK! ITS THE PART WHERE THEY MEET OLAF!!"
"OH MY GOD I LOVE THAT PART"

Another approach to checking your mixes as an audio drama producer:
I mentioned earlier that if you are an audio drama producer, you should always listen to your show with a single earbud in a noisy environment before you publish it. You should definitely do this.
What I didn't mention is that there's something else you can do: mix your show while your child* loudly watches an episode of Bluey. If you can still track your own show while Lucky's Dad (whose name is Pat, by the way) is frantically trying to fix the birthday party he ruined with his commitment to the old-school 'Pass the Parcel' rules, then this proves two things: 1) Your show is legible in noisy environments! 2) Your show can compete with Bluey and still hold your attention. Don't sleep on #2! I think Metropolis is a great show (and you should definitely check it out on Apple Podcasts/Spotify/etc), but I'd retire a happy person if I knew I was making anything remotely as good as Bluey. (*or you)

The Nanny
Part 4
Rio x fem!reader
Word count: 2.5k
Warnings: angst (I think lol), our favourite couple part their ways for now, Nick being a nosey weirdo, sad Rio, sad reader. Idk I think that’s it.
A/N: I know this is a bit short and (surprise) no smut lol but we will get there dw. this is (kind of) a filler. Also if you’re new, check out my master list for parts 1-3 ❤️cus I’m too lazy to link them here lmao oops
Tumblr media
It'd been two weeks since Y/n's encounter with the blonde lady. Elizabeth. Her name was Elizabeth. She noticed it at the top of the ultrasound. That ultrasound felt like it was forever engraved in her mind. She hadn't talked to Rio about it yet, she didn't know if she wanted to. Y/n wasn't really an angry or confrontational person, but when it came to it, she could explode and if it was going to be like that she didn't want Marcus to hear anything.
So, until then, she played her part as usual. Well, the affection she delivered had shortened, and that was very noticeable for Rio. They were practically living in each other's skin half the time and now he suddenly felt cold and that's what she wanted.
"Y/n." She felt something poking her hip, she blinked a few times zoning back in and looking down to see poor Marcus attempting to receive her attention. "Sorry, honey, what's going on?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to put my plate in the sink." She shifted over allowing him access to the sink, she continued to wash the dishes and hummed a tune that was repetitive in her head. "Do you know when Daddy will be home?"
She shook her head. "No idea bud." Suddenly there was a knock on the door, Y/n turned off the water and dried her hands lightly jogging through the short hallway to get to the door. She held her breath as she unlocked the door and pulled it open. "Oh, hi." It was Rio's brother... cousin... whichever. "Hey... you." She awkwardly greeted him, she forgot his name. He chuckled reaching out his hand, "Nick."
"Right, Nick, sorry." She shook his hand, a little longer than she wanted to, his grip was a little tight on her. "What can I help you with?"
"Is my brother here?"
Y/n smirked. "Thought he was your cousin." He was amused.  "Anyway, he's not here yet but he should be home soon if you want to wait for him." She stepped aside inviting him inside the house, she closed the door behind him. He took off his shoes and wandered off at the sound of Marcus' voice. "Uncle Nick!"
"Hey buddy, what's going on? What are you watching?"
"Bluey."
Y/n chimes in. "As always. And remember our deal, after this episode, you hit the shower and hit your bed okay?"
Marcus pouted and delivered those sweet brown puppy eyes. "What about Dad?" She groaned internally, he had school tomorrow and she did not need him to be up all night and end up sleeping in the next day. "I'll send him upstairs as soon as he's through that door okay?"
"Okay." He agreed and sat back down on the couch. She turned over to Nick and smiled. "Would you like anything?" He put his hand up and shook his head. "I couldn't intrude like that."
She reassured him that it was fine, suggesting there was water, juice and wine to choose from. He chose wine. He followed her trail back to the kitchen, he sat on one of the stools and waited patiently, watching her squat down behind the island to reach into a cabinet where she kept her special drinks. She then walked over to the upper cabinets and reached for a glass, her shirt slipping up exposing a bit of her skin, a small silly tattoo of Snoopy sitting on her hip as her sweatpants were almost dangerously low. His tongue swiped across his bottom lip.
She turned back placing the glass on the counter and poured out some liquor. "Not too much gotta drive back."
She hummed and nodded.
"You're okay?" Nick asked. She'd never talked to Nick, had no intention of speaking to him ever again since the dinner at their grandmother's house and judging how stiff Rio acted towards him she didn't really want to expose the problem at hand. So she bit her tongue and nodded.
Well, maybe she didn't bite hard enough.
"Actually, can I ask something?"
"Yeah."
Her nostrils widened as she angrily exhaled through her nose. "Has Rio ever..." Sigh. "When he was with Maria, and she was pregnant... was he sleeping with other people? Or bringing other women around?"
He thought about and she couldn't tell if he was going to save his ass or throw him under the bus. "I mean, they weren't really together when Maria was pregnant, so he still had other women around yeah."
"Okay." She simply replied looking at her wine glass, twirling it around at the stem, the red liquid swishing and swooshing with every movement it almost became hypnotizing. Her ears rang as scenarios filled her head. Was she the other woman that was around? How come no one in his family said anything? Do they not know?
Nick noticed how quiet she was and the coping mechanism she developed sitting there, he gently placed his hand over hers and she stopped playing with the glass. "Are you..."
"No," She quickly answered. "No, I mean I wouldn't be drinking."
Duh. He thought to himself but he had to ask anyway. He leaned forward attempting to pry more out of her without giving himself away. "Do you think-"
She cut him off. "Maria said that when you think you're the only one you're not and-"
Not too much.
"Fuck, I don't know it just got me thinking. And now I'm overthinking."
Before he could reply to her statement Marcus repeatedly squealed.  "Daddy's home! Daddy's home! Y/n! Daddy's home!"
She smiled at his cheery tone. "So I've heard."
Rio's figure came to join the duo in the kitchen, an overgrown Marcus sitting on his hip, just a small reminder that he'd forever be his baby. A very apparent frown played on his face while his eyes darted between her and Nick. "Hey, pretty mama." Immediately asserting his dominance.
"Hi." She nodded before taking another sip of her wine. "Nick... why are you in my kitchen?" He asked with hostility lacing his voice. Nick smirked, always smug at how immediately defensive Rio seemed to get whenever he came around. "Just came to see you, little brother."
Y/n cleared her throat standing up from her seat, she reached out for Marcus who easily transferred over to her, he was reluctant to leave his dad at first, not seeing him all day and only getting a minute with him made him a bit sad, but after a promise from Rio that he'd be up to at least read a story he cooperated and clung to Y/n as she took him upstairs.
While they were getting ready, Y/n's mind couldn't help but wonder about how she'd bring up the situation at hand, the envelope had been tucked under her side of the mattress for a while, maybe that's why she had trouble sleeping too it was taunting her underneath where she lay. She felt a bit of guilt, it was wrong for her to keep this a secret from him, he had the right to know he was having another kid.
Huh.
Another kid.
And it's not with her.
She sighed shaking off the thought, putting it on the back burner for a bit to focus on whatever Roblox game Marcus was trying to teach her to play on his iPad. She couldn't understand why these kids were so into this thing, he was obsessed. He rested his head on her shoulder while she tapped away on the screen. Her character disappeared and respawned in a moment. "What did I do?"
"Someone killed you." He giggled, and she gasped playfully poking his side. "That's not funny, I don't know what I'm doing." She laughed. He took his iPad back showing her once more what to do, a slight knock against the door frame interrupted their time together. Marcus sighed knowing he had to put his device away so he handed it back to her to take downstairs and in the morning he could have it back during breakfast.
Rio smiled. "Picked a book yet?"
Marcus nodded reaching under his pillow and showing him. "Say goodnight to Y/n."
"Night Y/n."
She kissed his head. "Night sweetness. I'll see you when I see you." Strange, Rio thought to himself, she always said she'll see him in the morning.
She walked past Rio, avoiding even an inch of contact with him. He swore he felt a cold air as she passed by, her loving and warmth had suddenly been replaced. Rio poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue and nodded. "Cool, let's uh, start reading."
---
By the time y/n got downstairs Nick had long disappeared, she sighed placing the yellow envelope on the counter after retrieving it from their room. She needed another glass of wine if she was ever going to get through this. She sat on the stool around the Island and twirled her wine glass once again, staring blankly at it until the sound of descending footsteps brought her back to Earth. "How was your day?" He asked opening the fridge and looking for something to drink or at least snack on.
"Good,"
Sip.
"How was yours?" Her tone was cold and uninterested so he responded with the same simple answer she gave him. "Good."
The silence returned aside from the obnoxious tapping of her fingers against her phone screen. He knew her well enough, when she was making extra noise on purpose she was pissed. Rio shook his head. "What was Nick doing here?"
The tapping stopped. "Came to say hi." She answered placing her phone down on the counter and picking up her wine glass. "Why are you talking to me like that?"
"Like what?"
"Like you want to pick a fight."
She chuckled pettily. "Hm."
"Y/n-"
"Who's Elizabeth?" She asked finally lifting her head up to look at him, he froze and audibly swallowed. "She's a business partner."
"Is she?" Y/n questioned with a trembling voice. She slid the envelope over to him as he took a seat next to her. "Open it,"
He was lowkey starting to sweat. He fumbled with the envelope until it opened, he reached inside and pulled out the evidence. His eyes fell out of his head and rolled onto the shiny clean floor. "Y/n..."
"Congratulations, I guess." She shrugged. He looked up at the name double checking if it was really Beth's. There's no way this was fucking happening. He'd admit they had their fair share of encounters, maybe one before he met Y/n but there was no way that it resulted in this. She would've told him, or at least he'd hoped she would.
This looked bad, there was no way to weasel out of this when the evidence was right there. What made everything more uneasy is how calm Y/n was being, any other woman would have thrown their wine at him or knocked him with the bottle but she downed the last of the liquid and poured whatever was left of the bottle.
"You think it's a boy or a girl?" She laughed tipsily. "This isn't funny."
"You're right," She sipped. "It's not, but you know... when you've been crying about it for two weeks, you just run out of tears and all you can do is laugh."
She continued. "You laugh and you wonder how you fell so fucking foolishly in love with someone, in such a short time... how in that short time he made you feel so special like you were his world. You fall in love with his son, the sweetest boy you've ever met who tugs at your heart everyday and you think to yourself maybe one day you can give this kid his own little best friend."
Rio dropped his head. "And you come to find out, that- that someone else beat you to it. Is that how you did Maria? I mean she- she told me I'm not the only one, Christopher can never have one girl and I fucking defended you. I was so fucking sure-"
Y/n's voice cracked, and her chin trembled as she fought back a flood of tears but they were no longer tears of sadness, they were angry. Pissed. "I was so fucking sure you wouldn't do that to me."
He didn't know what to say, his mouth ran dry. "I'm... baby, I'm sorry. Look at me, look at me," He put the picture down and grabbed her face forcing her to look at him. Her eyes were so sad, so tired, so broken. He'd never seen her like this, he couldn't believe he was the cause.
"I love you... Y/n. I swear to god, I fucking love you ma. I'm sorry, okay? But you're going to have to believe me when I say this ain't my kid. There's no way. I-it's just been you and me this whole time, baby, I fucking swear."
She sniffled. She could see it, or maybe she just wanted to see it. That he did love her and some part of him was telling her the truth, but bless her heart she didn't know what to believe. It was too much, maybe she moved too fast and this was her consequence, didn't ask enough questions when they started dating and now this was the result. She loved him. God she loved him. Her whole body gravitated towards him and it was so hard to pull away when she found out.
It was hard to pull away now, how close they were in proximity, noses almost touching, foreheads pressed together. He didn't want to let go, this was something he was willing to go to war for. Against her better judgement, she leaned forward connecting their lips.
The love, the regret, the sorrow was all wrapped up in it. Ugh, he tasted like alcohol, probably took a shot before he came home. He smelt so good even after a long day. His lips were so soft, so sweet to her and extra gentle. Their kiss started slow and soon picked up feverishly, she pulled at his shirt, the sudden need for him took over. The two sides of her brain knocked at each other, sleep with him tonight and leave in the morning or leave now and never see him again— let this kiss be the last.
Beep! Beep!
Someone else was there to answer for her. She pulled back but he brought her in, one last kiss. Just one. Y/n pulled back, tugging his hands away from her and she immediately missed them. She stood up and grabbed her keys off the counter. "I made Marcus' lunch... oh, you know the routine."
"Y/n... ma, please..."
She kissed his cheek. "Tell him I'll see him soon, okay?"
"No." He protested. "He can see you tomorrow, in the morning."
"Christopher."
"Y/n."
She wasn't about to argue with him, her sister blowing up her phone letting her know she was outside and to hurry the fuck up. She backed away as slowly as she could, his jaw flexed and his eyes became glossy. He was going to cry. She couldn't watch it otherwise she'd stay and she just needed the space right now. She quickly made her way down the hall with him hot on her trail, she opened the door and wiped a tear that ran down her cheek.
Her sister caught sight of Rio and shook her head. Y/n went on the passenger side.
Just one last glance.
She ducked down and sat, closing the car door. She turned away from her sibling not wanting to be bothered by anyone right now. Understandable.
Rio watched as the car disappeared, the gravel under the tires crunching as she vanished before him. He stood there, dumbfounded. He's fucked up a lot but never like this.
He needed a way to resolve this and he needed it now.

“when are you marrying mommy?”
Tumblr media
a/n: this is my first fic ever so i hope you like it. i also literally love chris dad fics. so likee !!
warnings: kissing, language, nothing much.
chris
y/n
mason
it’s currently 7:27 am at the moment, chris was asleep, meanwhile i was brushing my teeth. all of a sudden i hear crying out of nowhere. it’s mason, our son. “oh shit” i immediately spit out the toothpaste and go to my sons room. i then see that he dropped his toy car on his foot, i then pick him up and go to the kitchen to get him a cup of juice.
8:47
chris is finally awake, he’s currently watching bluey with our son. mason is currently playing with his cars while chris is invested in the show, i giggle at the fact that he’s paying attention to it. “what?” he asks with a smirk, “nothing” i reply, smiling while still making breakfast.
10 minutes later
i bring chris his breakfast and give him a cup of juice “thank you y/nnn” he kisses my cheek and begins to eat. i then bring my 5 year old a cup of juice and some cereal, “thank you mommy!!” he says joyfully while beginning to eat.
later, at around 8:56
chris and mason are currently on the last episode of bluey, chris is super invested now. after the episode ends and i fall asleep, mason asks chris the big question. “daddy, when are you marrying mommy?” chris then looks shocked by his sons question, but he answers calmly. “why? you think i should?” he asks, mason then nods while smiling and clapping his hands. “okay buddy, i’ll see what i can do.”
the next morning
i wake up to find chris out of bed, so i go to check my toddlers room, realizing he’s out of bed as well. i then run to my room and call chris immediately. “hello?” i hear a familiar voice, “chris where are you?? and where is mason?” i ask slightly raising my voice. “it’s okay, it’s okay. he’s with me,” chris replies. i then calm down a bit, “okay, but.. where are you??” i continue to ask questions. “we’re just out shopping for moree uh cars for mason. ya know he loves his toys.” he answers a bit hesitantly, but he answered me, so it’s okay. “oh okay, please don’t leave without telling me again. i love you, stay safe.” i say before i hang up.
at around 5:34 pm, they get home.
“mommyyyyy!!!” mason runs up to me, i hug him tight and kiss his head. “hiii babyyyy!! i missed you” i smile at my son. “isn’t that my nickname?” chris asks jokingly, i then roll my eyes giggling slightly.
10:46 pm
it’s now time for bed, me and mason are sleeping, meanwhile chris is up looking for rings and suits. he’s dead serious about proposing, i mean, who wouldn’t?? it’s been 8 years of them dating. since middle school. anyways, he spent a whole 2 months looking for rings. until him and his son found the perfect one.
i really hope you like thisss, i literally tried so hard. i get why writers sometimes take forever to make a second part now 😭😭 also this is HEAVILY inspired by @st7rnioioss so all the credits go to her. also this is lowkey ass soo like.

I watched the new Bluey episode The Sign just now (watched at double speed of course). You guys ever heard the term "Shaggy dog Story?"
Yeah. That was The Sign. Should have figured it was a dead giveaway with actual shaggy dog characters as the "antagonists" lmao. Typical clever writing!

I always loved the Bluey episodes 'dance mode' and 'yoga ball' because they're both such good lessons about boundaries and enthusiastic consent.
in 'dance mode' the family never shame Bingo for saying yes when she meant no, they're hard on themselves for being too caught up in what they wanted to notice they'd been making her miserable all day.
then in 'yoga ball' it's a lesson about boundaries when Bingo finds some of Bandit's games too rough, but the two of them work out what her tolerance is together.
and importantly both episodes don't invalidate Bingo's feelings or blame her for everything
it's honestly such a breath of fresh air after watching hh/hb, two shows that don't seem to understand that sexual harassment isn't something the target should just have to put up with (in fact both shows explicitly frame the target of the harassment as OTPs in the case of Angel/Husk and Stolas/Blitz)
They were both so good and so necessary, and Yoga Ball is one of those episodes that I still can't believe -- in the best possible way -- that someone actually made. The entire gist is that Bingo doesn't want Bandit to stop playing with her, that she likes when he's rough, but she's got a limit to how much roughness is fun. It's unironically the perfect viewing material for people who think they might want to dip their toes into BDSM.
If Viv were writing that episode, the moral would be that using your big girl bark might hurt an attractive man's feelings, so just let him do whatever he wants to you.

taylor swift and puppy cuddles
This is just something quick I came up with while I was on my break at work today. Again it’s kind of a sequel to the other two one shots I wrote…not proof-read :) also posted on ao3 :)
"Okay, so you're sure that you can handle being on your own for a week?" Katie nervously smiled. Her bags were already in the trunk of her car, if she wanted to make it to the airport on time she would have to leave now. "Katie...I am a grown woman, of course I can handle being on my own. And if I do regress I can always call the others." You gave Katie a big hug and smiled at her. You knew she was looking forward to camp, seeing her Ireland teammates and her family again. And she deserved a break. Katie did a great job at taking care of you when you were little and altough she never complained, you knew that you were asking a lot from her. "Alright," Katie sighed "Call me if you need anything!" "I will and now get in the car or you'll miss your flight! Good luck!" You waved until you couldn't see her car anymore before closing the front door. You ploped down on the couch and scrolled through your phone for a bit. The house was unnaturally quiet without Katie and Caitlin. The Aussie was a frequent guest and basically already lived with the two of you. She had left for camp yesterday, unfortunately you had been little when she had to leave, which had caused a lot of tears on your side (and a few on Caitlin's side, too) and you only calmed down once Caitlin promised to bring you back a little gift from Australia and to give you a call at least once a day. Your mind was getting a bit fuzzy when you thought about Caitlin. Hoping it would distract you from the feeling that you knew all too well, you turned on the TV. But it didn't. You knew that it would only be a few more hours, if you were lucky, before you would be little. "Okay, I can handle it. No need to call Katie..." You mumbled to yourself and decided to get a little snack. Maybe some food would distract you from the fuzzy feeling in your brain. You made yourself some cereal and sat down at the kitchen table, where you found a note from Katie. "Hi! If you need anything and you cannot reach me: Beth and Viv are at home and you can always call them or go over to their house until I can call you back." You read and smiled. Afer finishing your cereal, you put your bowl into the dishwasher and tried to think about what to do now. You didn't want to watch anything on TV, you didn't feel like reading a book and scrolling on your phone was just boring. Fortunately for you, your phone started ringing and a few seconds later Caitlin's face appeared on the screen. "Caitlin! How's camp?" "Good! We just got done with training and I thought I'd give you a quick call before we go to dinner" Caitlin said and proceeded to tell you about her day. Your brain was getting more and more fuzzy and you tried your hardest to just ignore it. But of course, Caitlin noticed anyways. "Y/N, are you okay?" She looked concerned. "Yeah, don't worry...I'm fine. Just a bit tired, that's all." You really didn't want her to worry. You were a big girl and you could handle being on your own for a week. "I don't think so, babygirl" Caitlin softly smiled. "Noooo, I'm finneeee" You whined. "Babygirl, I'm gonna call Beth and Viv to come pick you up. I really don't think you should be alone right now. Can you get your stuffie and your pacie while I call them?" "No leaving me" You sniffled. "I'm not leaving you, babygirl. I promise to call you back in 10 minutes. That's about one Bluey episode." You perked up at the mentioning of your favourite show. "Buey?" "Yes, babygirl. How about you gather all your stuffies and lay down in Mummy's bed to watch an episode of Bluey and then Caitlin will call you again. Does that sound good?" Caitlin silently prayed that it would work. You nodded and raced up to your bedroom. You gathered your bunny, the jellycat in the form of a football and your pacie. Then you layed down in Katie's big bed and turned on an episode of Bluey. As promised, Caitlin called you back before the episode was even over.
Two Bluey episodes later, you were all packed up in the backseat of Beth and Viv’s car. You held your bunny close and anxiously sucked on your pacifier. You loved Beth and Viv but had never been at their house without your Mummy before. “Myle cannot wait to see you, darling. Are you excited to go over to our house?” Beth excitedly asked. Deep down she was really fuckin anxious. She and Viv had never really taken care of you on their own. When Katie had asked them if they theoretically could watch you, while she and Caitlin were at camp, they both had agreed without hesitating for even a second. But Beth was still scared they’d mess up. Surprisingly it was Viv, who had no doubt that they couldn’t handle taking care of you. “Beth, honey…please let her breathe. Give her a few minutes, I think she’s really really small right now.” She turned around and gave you an encouraging smile. Viv turned up the music and a few minutes you were babbling and bouncing along to Taylor Swift. Beth giggled, when little you tried to sing along to “22” (Taylor’s version, duh!) but it sounded more like “uh-uh”. She quickly grabbed her phone and sent Katie a short video of you and Viv singing together. Not even 2 seconds later, Katie replied: “No matter big or little…this girl loves Taylor Swift…remind me to get her some tickets to the concert for her birthday!”
Once you all arrived at Beth and Viv’s house, the anxious feeling in your stomach returned. You desperately clung into Beth’s hand when you entered the house. You heard Myle before you could see her and a few seconds later the puppy rushed up to you, almost running you over. “Myle, sit down! Give her some space! MYLE!” Viv tried her best to keep the puppy away from you, but it was too late. You were already crying. “Viv, take Myle outside. I’ll calm her down!” Beth picked you up and took you to their bedroom, Viv took Myle outside and joined you a few minutes later. “I’m sorry, liefje. Myle was just so excited to see you. You don’t need to be afraid of her.” Viv lovingly tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear. “Myle’s only a baby, just like you. She didn’t know how else to show you that she was excited to see you. You know how you get excited when you see Kyra at training?” Beth asked and you nodded, the tears slowly stopping,”Myle gets just as excited seeing you, as you get when you see Kyra. That just means she really likes you - just how you like Kyra!” “Kywa!” You smiled. The Aussie was funny and always helped you prank the others. “Yes, Kyra’s at camp with Caitlin. Do you wanna call her?” Viv asked, pulling out her phone from the pocket of her hoodie. You shook your head. You wanted to see Myle. It was understandable that she was excited to see you. When you saw Kyra again after not seeing her for two weeks, you had gotten so excited that you had slammed into her without a warning and accidentally hit her nose. Kyra had ended up with a bloody nose and you had gotten a small lecture from your Mummy about not just jumping into people’s arms without a warning. Maybe no one had given Myle that lecture yet. “Myeeee!” You jumped up from Beth’s lap and dragged her and Viv down the stairs, into the garden. Myle excitedly ran up to you, but this time you didn’t start crying. You stood still, gripping Beth’s and Viv’s hands tightly and letting Myle say hello. Once she had calmed down, you relaxed too and let go of Beth and Viv. “Mye” You said, trying to look serious. “No jump.” Myle tilted her head, as if she was really taking in what you were saying. “That’s right, honey. Myle shouldn’t jump. Next time she does, you just say “Stop!”. Alright? How about we play some football together?” Beth smiled and pulled out a football from behind her back. Excitedly you clapped your hands and Myle barked.
Two minutes later you were running around the garden, giggling and chasing the little pink football. Myle was chasing after you and was just as excited as you to finally get someone to play with. Save to say, both you and Myle slept like log that night. Beth made sure to send both Katie and Caitlin a picture of you cuddled up with Myle on the couch, the both of you mouth wide-open and a little smile on your faces. Katie texted back immediately: “if the Taylor Swift tickets don’t work out for her birthday, then I’ll just get her a dog :)”
