PSA: A little real talk on a Sunday...

or Monday, depending on what time zone you are in 😉

I know people are still processing everything that happened and going through different emotions. VALID. One important suggestion that I have right now is to protect your peace!!! YOU are in control of the time, investment and emotional capital you give to Lukola. We don't know what's going on bts - I mean, we kind of do, but obviously not everything that is holding them back from going public.

Let's keep in mind none of us know them personally. We see a small percentage of their lives on social media and in live events. We know they have a baby... don't gaslight yourself into thinking that isn't real. We saw what we saw and not just in the body transformation. She didn't have a baby w/ a gay man. She didn't even have one w/ a bisexual or pan man who has yet to look half-way interested in her and whom she has yet to claim.

What did we get prior to the BAFTA nominees event? An article about how amazing Lukola (not Polin, but Lukola) is on screen and OFF, and another article that highlighted N's claddagh ring. I do think it was supposed to soften the blow for what was to come. W/ that said, there's a reason this had to happen. HAD to, not WANTED to.

If I felt like there was any joy or contentment, I may have second thoughts. But we saw JD comforting N on the red carpet ("You got enough", "We're almost done") and them looking emotional - rumors were that JD had a panic attack and N was so stressed her body rejected it. She changed the neckline of her jacket inside the party, suggesting anything near her neck may have made her feel sick.

L has likewise never looked happy about any outing w/ A, and he's never claimed her either. We've known that since papgate when he had the angriest look on his face that has only worsened to current day. "Let's get this done", hand swatting and general misery followed by nose picking and zombie like disinterest, all juxtaposed w/ N at the SAGs - "your dress matches your eyes", full elation, and baby...S? No comparison.

We see the signs and we wait, we ship. BUT WE DON'T HAVE TO. You know the truth, you don't need some gossip writer at Enews or People or Deuxmoi of all people to confirm it for you. Don't let waiting for a public launch rule your life or emotional state! You already know!

When everything bts gets cleared up, they will come out eventually (and if they don't, N has the weirdest privacy kink ever or L really did murder someone. I kid!). Until then, you have the quiet satisfaction of being one of the ones who GETS IT. Thank God you're THAT person - one who roots for love, believes in true connection, and knows what soulmates look like when you see them! 👫🫶🥰🙏

Let me explain real quick how I got to this fic because it's a little ridiculous and convoluted and I think that's kinda funny.

I'm not a big fanfic guy, generally. I am extraordinarily picky, I didn't get into it as a teen because I had already been blindsided by horny fanart for children's media and did NOT want a repeat of THAT experience (I was devastated to learn that safe search did practically nothing), and tbh all the fanfic websites scared me because I don't like learning new UIs or signing up for things. I just sort of missed the prime window for getting into fanfic as a hobby. Unless something is specifically recommended to me there is a high chance it'll just never cross my path.

Cut to sometime in early November, 2022. I had just recently gotten into Ace Attorney so that I could talk about it with a friend. As I often do, I accidentally became obsessed with it and shot way ahead of where my friend was, ironically making it difficult to discuss it with him. And now I'm drawing a lot of Franziska, and thinking "damn I wish she had a game". Not much longer after I posted some sketches about the concept, I got a notification from @pictureswithboxes. Turns out, she had seen my silly little doodles AND WRITTEN AN ENTIRE COURT CASE BASED ON THE IDEA!!

That story is called Turnabout Substitution, and it's phenomenal. I also have some doodles from that one, but I want to polish them before I share. Anyways, the point is I died on the spot and now, three years later, I've reread the finished story at least 5 times. About a week ago I noticed that there was a new story available, Metal Masquerade. After reading the available chapters I realized that this story has a co-author. Well, I've enjoyed these ones so much, I wonder if this person has any other- OH WOW THAT'S A LOT. Well who do they tend to focus on- FRANZISKA???!? MY BELOVED FRANZISKA VON KARMA!?!?

And that's how we got here :D

Both of these writers have such an exquisite handle on these characters and what makes them interesting, I was genuinely just as entertained by Franziska unraveling a murder case as I was by Phoenix picking up pastries from a café. They're all so full of life, every single scene I've read has been a treat. They're funny, they're dramatic, they're well-paced, introspective, and curious about this fictional world and the people in it. I cannot recommend these authors enough, and I feel genuinely lucky to have found their work

But listen, I know their interactions were meant to be flirty, I know both actors have said they played it that way, but I just…cannot get behind Mohan x Abbot, mostly because I have a hard time believing either of them would risk an HR violation for a little hookup OR being the subject of Perlah and Princess’ chismis seshs lmao. I know the writers will prob develop their flirtations next season and then when Mohan becomes an attending we’ll see something real. Which like, fine, I can live with it. But honestly their scenes mostly read as “Dad who throws his kid into the deep end because he knows they can swim, they’re just being too in their head about it”.

Like to me it TRULY read as the writers showing us what Mohan is capable of under an attending who trusts her and lets her take the lead even when she’s uncertain, one who is encouraging but still firm with a “lock tf in, you got this” attitude instead of Robby’s constant berating of everything Mohan is doing wrong. How Abbot spoke to Mohan and Mel and Santos showed us how Robby has been getting it wrong with his female students all day (not always, but often) - and that maybe his championing of Langdon has caused his other students to slip through the cracks.

Tldr Mohan and Abbot’s relationship to me is giving “ugh dad, mom just doesn’t understand me!” (Robby is mom in this scenario) with the response of “I get it kid, your mom is having a rough time right now. If I let you do donuts in the parking lot would that make you feel better?”

my submission for the Fanfic Writers of the SPN Fandom April Challenge <3

prompt: I missed feeling the sun on my skin.

warnings: angst, hurt/comfort, reader is not only dead, but stuck in Hell (so sorry) but there are no real descriptions of what happened down there, sam is grieving hard in the beginning, i actually edited a fic for once (thank u for beta-ing @crowleysmistress)

summary: the spring brings flowers, vampire hunts, and a beautiful gift for a grieving sam.

January first. The marker of the new year, a symbol of change. It never made sense to Sam; January first being the start of the calendar, yeah, sure, but seeing it as a new beginning never made any sense. What was new about it?

Dead-set in the middle of the winter months, bringing Kansas nothing but dreary, cold weather. No celebrations that were particularly enticing to Sam, and this year Sam can’t even bring himself to accompany Dean to the bar to watch whatever performances are playing on the TV, play wing man so Dean can “start the new year off with a bang” (his words), and countdown to midnight.

No, Sam is stuck in bed, stuck in the same pattern he’d been in at the beginning of what has felt like a forever winter.

Grief.

Sam’s most familiar friend. It’s haunted him his entire life, quite literally since he was a baby. No matter how much older he grows, how many changes he has tried to make or goals he has tried to achieve, he cannot escape loss. Just as January cannot escape the dreadful winter.

However, this time was different for Sam. This loss, this pain, this grief, felt different. It felt like a blizzard, surrounding him in nothing but cold and giving him a bone-deep ache in his chest. His steps felt heavy as he walked, as if he was trying to track through foot upon foot of snow.

His girl. The one person in the world who was his. His to hold, to protect, to love. The one person in this world who was able to handle all of him in every kind of way.

You were a hunter, too. Sam remembered a conversation he’d had with his brother just a few days before you hunted them down, quite literally. A conversation about making it work with another hunter, someone who understood the life they lived.

Then you showed up, leaning against the impala, heated about their heavy steps alerting the ōkami to their presence, ready to cuss both of them out despite it turning out to be a successful hunt after all.

Sam, instantly enamored with you, let your angry rant go in one ear and out the other. He looked at you with the puppy dog eyes he saved for when he really, really wanted something and said, “ Do you want to get a drink with us?” He wasn't sure if your face or Dean’s scrunched up faster. Your rant stopped, and you stumbled over an answer, completely forgetting about what was pissing you off in the first place. “Uh, yeah, yeah, sure,” you accepted. Sam ignored the way Dean mumbled a “great” under his breath.

And now you are gone. Years later, after a long journey you’d taken with the Winchesters, you were gone. Not just gone, but stuck. Stuck in hell. And there was nothing Sam could do about it and that hurt worse than anything he’d ever been through.

“C’mon, man, it’s Jody,” Dean ushered, resting against Sam’s door frame. “You know she wouldn’t be calling unless she needed us. Both of us.”

Sam knew he was right, even if it was an excuse for Dean to finally get him out of bed. “Okay,” Sam sighed. Dean tried to fight the smirk that was growing on his face, happy to see his brother finally getting vertical. Sam rubbed his face, trying to push off the exhaustion, anger, and sadness he had been feeling. He moved slowly as he got ready, not feeling any motivation to rush.

By the time Sam met Dean in the car, the sun had started to set. “Let’s go, Sammy. We got a couple hours ride ahead of us,” Dean cheered. There was no complaint about Sam taking too long to get ready, no music that was too loud, and no songs that Dean knew Sam didn’t like. Sam pretended not to notice how thoughtful Dean was being. No chick flick moments, Sam thought.

he hunt was something that Claire had stumbled onto. It took all of them a few days to figure out what they were hunting, and even longer to successfully gank it; allowing February to roll into March, and snow start to turn into rain. It was a group success, one that had Sam feeling like maybe, just maybe, he could be okay without you. Not good, but functioning. Enough that he could get back to doing what he does best; saving people, hunting things, the family business. Outside of you, that was his purpose.

You would want him to keep going, that he knew.

“You alright?” Dean asked as they took their seats in the impala. Sam felt warm for the first time in months. His belly full with Jody and Alex’s home cooked meal, his brother by his side, and a new outlook on what he needs to be doing. The blankets on his bed did not provide the same warmth, the same comfort, that being around his family did. Even if it was missing someone, he belongs with his family.

As Dean drove, Sam spent his time online, looking for the next case. He braced himself with how he approached it. Dean would shut him down if he thought he was getting too eager, dealing with his grief by putting his own life on the line.

“Hey, look,” Sam broke the silence as Dean rolled up to a redlight a few hours away from Jody’s, on their way home. “Like 30 miles that way,” Sam vaguely gestured over Dean’s shoulder, “They found two bodies drained of all of their blood two days ago.” Sam raised an eyebrow at his brother, a silent invitation for a detour. Dean shrugged tiredly, but turned towards the town.

A simple vamp hunt that only took a few days for the brothers to wrap up. Sammy woke up on the morning of the Spring Equinox, feeling like he could finally start his new year. Surrounded by sunshine, Sam deemed March 20th his new January 1st, and set a resolution for himself: I am going to always keep fighting. For the people who needed to be saved, for his brother, for you. 

That was all he needed to do. Keep fighting.

The Impala slowed to a stop just a few yards outside of the bunker. Far enough that Sam couldn’t see the front door through the trees. “You good?” Dean asked as Sam stepped out, throwing his backpack over his shoulder. “Yeah, you should park it in the garage. I need a little R and R for a few days.” Dean nodded, happy his brother was able to admit that for once, and pulled off towards the garage.

Sam walked down the dirt path with a pep in his step that hadn’t been there when they first left for Jody’s. He felt different. Lighter. Warmer.

“I’ll have to thank her,” Sam thought, grateful for Jody’s impact on his life.

Sam scanned the clearing in front of the bunker, hunter’s instinct. His eyes followed the horizon until the woods came into view. He inspected them from a distance, making sure nothing weird was out there. And nothing was, so he continued his search until his eyes landed on the front door of the bunker.

His eyebrows furrowed as he noticed legs dangling from the concrete pad atop the door. He let out a gasp as his gaze drifted upwards. He would recognize that face anywhere, any day, from any distance.

His girl.

Sam’s backpack was on the ground and his long legs were sprinting up the hill before he could register where he was going. Before those hunter’s instincts could kick in. He could hear your laughter as he made his way to you. Your real laughter, not a recording or an old voicemail of it. Your genuine, true laughter. If Sam thought he was warm before, he was overheating now.

Sam tried his best to be gentle as he pulled you into his arms. He was like an excited dog, one that has the best of intentions but forgets how big he really is. All of sudden, you were surrounded by nothing but Sam. For the first time in what felt like years, you were finally home.

Sam allowed himself to bask in the idea of you before he pulled away, “Are you real?” Something he should’ve considered before he was within harming distance, especially given his history. You nodded, raising your forearm to show the cut from where you’d tested yourself with silver. After your time in Hell, you had to be sure for yourself you were real. Sure, you felt real, the world around you seemed real, but you had been tortured with it all, and much worse, before. Your guard was up and it was going to take a lot to break it down.

“I tried it all, I swear. Silver, holy water, I even tried to find Ruby’s knife just to be sure.” Sam’s face twisted in confusion. You sighed, knowing you owed him an explanation. First, you claimed your seat back in front of the bunker door. You’d been deprived of all things nature for far too long. It was the end of March, when it finally starts to feel like Spring again in Kansas, and you wanted to bask in all the world had to offer for as long as possible.

As Sam took his place on the ground next to you, he fired off another question, “Why are you out here? You could’ve gone in.” He was still wary of you being real. The real you knew how to get in, yet you were sitting outside.

You shrugged, this time a slow, sadder shrug, and answered, “I missed feeling the sun on my skin.” And with that, Sam understood. He knew you were stuck in Hell, he knew you remembered every second of it, he knew you were real.

With a sad smile, he pulled you closer and pressed a kiss against the top of your head. “You don’t have to tell me now, you don’t have to tell me at all, you just have to tell me that you are going to be okay.”  Maybe it would take days, weeks, years, decades, he didn’t care. You only had to promise him you would be okay, eventually.

“I will, I have you.” You replied, pressing yourself closer to him. You were sure you would be. Not today, probably not even soon, but one day. You were here, real, alive. You could feel the sun on your skin and Sam’s skin pressed against your own. That was all you needed to have a chance for a new beginning. No matter the day.

I groaned, tossing my phone onto the sofa and flopping dramatically after it.

"This is impossible," I muttered into a cushion. "I’m a singer, not a bloody poet."

Will chuckled from the armchair opposite, where he was lazily scrolling on his phone. "What’s the drama this time?"

I lifted my head just enough to glare at him. "I need an album title, Will. Something meaningful. Powerful. Timeless. And I’ve got nothing."

He grinned, clearly enjoying my suffering. "How about Songs to Cry To When You're Hungover?"

I threw a cushion at him.

"I���m serious!" he said, laughing as he caught it. "Or... The Chronicles of Heartbreak and Other Mild Inconveniences."

I let out a strangled laugh despite myself. "You're ridiculous."

"You knew that when you fell for me," he said with a wink.

I rolled my eyes, but my heart did a stupid little flip anyway. Bloody Will Poulter how was he this annoying and this charming at the same time?

I sat up properly, running a hand through my hair. "Seriously though. I want it to feel... honest. A little sad, but still beautiful, you know?"

He put his phone down and looked thoughtful for a moment. Then, with that signature mischief dancing in his eyes, he said, "Alright. What about... My Favourite Colour is None?"

I blinked. "...What?"

He shrugged. "Think about it. It's a bit moody, a bit cryptic. Like... you're saying you’ve lost the vibrancy you once had."

I stared at him.

"That’s actually... not bad," I admitted slowly.

He beamed, ridiculously proud of himself.

"Got another one," he said. "What about... When the Roses Fade?"

The room went quiet.

I swallowed thickly, feeling the words settle into my chest like they were always meant to be there.

"When the Roses Fade," I repeated softly, tasting it. "That’s... beautiful."

Will shifted a little in his seat, suddenly shy. "Yeah, well. I have my moments."

I smiled at him really smiled. "You have more than moments, Will."

We locked eyes, and for a second, the world outside the living room didn’t exist. Just me, him, and the quiet certainty that he somehow always knew exactly what I needed.

I stood, crossing the small space between us, and perched on the arm of his chair. I ran my fingers lightly through his hair, and he closed his eyes at the touch.

"When the Roses Fade," I said again. "That’s it. That’s the album."

He opened his eyes, gazing up at me with something that made my chest ache.

"I’m glad," he said simply. "You deserve something perfect."

"And you," I murmured, pressing a kiss to his forehead, "are exactly that."

He smiled — soft, real, the kind that made me forget about deadlines and pressure and everything else.

Maybe when the roses faded, what mattered most was who stayed behind.

And for me, it would always be him.

❀ . . . Hello guys! First “informative” post here on this blog! This is nothing to grand but this is like an easy explanation of everything in the shifting circle! This is specifically made for newbie shifters who just started their shifting/manifestation journey or people who coming back to it after a long break! Also this is my specific view on these terms so I suggest going out to research if you are genuinely new here and don’t just use this post— also if there ever happens to be errors in the explainations LET ME KNOW! So I can quickly edit it or make a way better post in the future 🪽 (*cough some grammar mistake incoming 🫣)

Reality shifting ✩ the act of becoming aware of / moving your awareness to different realities. It’s something that we all natural do because we shift every second (A popular concept like this is something is Buddhism called “Annica” which means that all living things..Hell even creation itself is not set in stone and is always changing). With the concept of the mutliverse or just overall limitless possibilities when it comes to shifting, you can shift to any reality because any type of reality can exist. You can shift to where you are some millionaire’s partner or a isekai protagonist from a “fictional” media in this

Law of assumption ✩ a term coined by the famous Neville Goddard who was a very popular and successful mystic, writer, teacher, and philosopher. The law of assumption to put it in simple terms is the law that what ever you assume to be as fact and persist in will in fact be true and real in this reality…heck the moment you decide it to be true it will become the truth!

a perfect quote to describe it is this “Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live…”

3d / outer world ✩ the physical reality that we interact with right now. The stuff that you see, taste, feel, smell, and hear.

4d / inner man ✩ the inner world of man— you can say the person’s imagination, thoughts, feelings, subconscious, and many stuff relating to it! It’s the mental and non physical realm/state/reality To describe the relationship with the 4d and 3D reality we will use the famous man and the mirror example. Now if you are a newbie you may assume that the mirror is 4d and the 3D is the man but it’s actually the opposite, the 4d is the man while 3D is the mirror. The 3D is a mirror of the 4d and your overall current perception of reality. when the man doesn’t like the way he looks, he’ll be a fool to try change the mirror when he should be changing himself.

Imagination ✩ the imagination and the 4d are basically two sides of the same coin. They are basically in a way the same thing with a tad bit of different perspectives. To put it simple, the imagination is the real reality— consciousness, awareness, the 4d and even the 3D, the fictional stuff that we always think when we are kids to the reality that we are living in now. Imagination is basically the real reality

Conciousness ✩ the foundation of reality! The thing (+ awareness and the 4d/subconscious ) that is the reason why we can shift in the first place. A limitless force that exists in all things and one of the basis of awareness. I highly suggest seeing this video and @omniverseexplorer to really understand as they got amazing information

Awareness ✩ awareness is something very complex in the shifting community. It’s not just the state of being aware and perception but one of the main foundations of reality. It’s the thing that allows us to observe and perceive reality! When we say that we are awareness in this community, we mean that we are the observers of not only this reality but all realities! It’s not just our personal conciousness and personality but a formless and detached being that’s just experiencing creation and nothingness at the same time.

Permashifting ✩ Where you shift to you desired reality for long period of time or permently staying there with the option of coming back.

Respawning ✩ Respawning is very similar to permashifting but there is a twist! Though yes you are leaving this reality with no intentions of coming back… the thing is you can’t come back to this specific reality. While permashifting is leaving for long periods of time or permanently with the option of coming back, respawning is when you are cutting ALL ties with this reality meaning that what you are doing is genuinely permanent. The closest thing you can do to shifting back here is going back to an alternate reality! This is why I will advise people to do this when you are 16+ and 100% sure what you are getting into because the moment you successfully respawn, that’s it!

- deathless : respawning is usually tied to stuff like death and forced reincarnation (hell people sometimes refer respawning as forced reincarnation) which is why it’s very controversial in the shifting and manifestation communities. Though as I respawner myself, especially deathless respawner I want to say that respawning doesn’t always mean that you die (+ death is very subjective when in comes to stuff like spirituality, consciousness, and quantum physics)! Deathless respawning to put it simple is basically you respawning with no intention and desire of the void vessel that you leave behind to die! Many deathless respawners use clones ( i will go into that later) to take their places and continue their lives here while they are in home realities

- sca : sca or sudden cardiac arrest is something that a lot of death induced respawners use if they don’t want their void vessel to continue on. I want to say that this is NOT 100% suicide and suicide is heavily discouraged in the respawning community! Sca/death respawners after successfully shifting intend for their bodies to die AFTER they are safe and grounded in their drs.

DR / desired reality ✩ your desired reality is quite literally the reality you desire to experience and become aware of. This can be any reality like you being rich to you being in some anime like one piece!

CR / current reality ✩ the reality that you are currently in and experiencing (basically like this reality that we are all in now)

WR / waiting room ✩ a waiting room is specific reality where you can just relax in and don’t have to worry about. It can be anything like a cozy cabin in a magical forest or space ship floating in the outer space. Usually people shift here if they can’t decide which dr they want to focus on or a place where they can just detach and not worry about anything! (This is also a great place to respawn/permashift to)

Home reality ✩ the reality that you like to consider your “original” reality , your home! This can be any reality, including this one that we are in. A lot of permashifters and respawners like to use this term to refer to the place they’re permashifting/respawning to.

Void reality ✩ this is a term respawners mainly use to talk about the current reality they desire to get out of. The reason why they call it that is because this reality is you can say “dead to them”, it’s meaningless after they respawn!

Void vessel ✩ similar to void reality, void vessel is another respawning term that basically mean the version of you that you are leaving behind and is meaningless to you.

Subliminals ✩ Very special audios with affirmations where the conscious and aware mind cannot pick up and interfere with that goes straight to your subconscious mind! The subconscious is not logical as the conscious mind and anything you tell it, it manifests to reality. If you use a subliminal to improve your intelligence and grades, your subconscious then programs you and reality to fit those affirmations in the subliminal. It’s a very useful tool in the terms of manifestation and shifting

Channeling ✩ the process of receiving and sending messages or information from/to non-physical entities, such as spirits, universal forces, guides, higher-dimensional beings or/and people from your drs(their higher selves). (This goes hand in hand into divination)

Scripting ✩ it’s in the name, you write and describe what’s your desired reality and overall which specific reality you want to shift to. NO as you script, you are NOT creating a new reality (you are not the special god of your desired reality unless you script it and even if so, that reality/concept always existed before you even became aware of it). Scripting is like putting a detailed description on your “quantum gps” that will help you know where you want to shift to. Scripting can be complex and different for everyone! It can be digital, traditional on paper, a simple Pinterest board, or a Shakespeare like novel.

Void state / pure consciousness ✩ your purest state of form! It’s where you are just awareness and not attached to any reality and the 3D in general. Since you are fully in the 4d in this state, manifestation is insanely instant and I mean INSTANT! Which is why an insane majority of the shifting and manifestation community focuses on it a lot because once you enter this state, your manifestations/your shift you dr is guaranteed! Don’t overhype too much, it’s just another state of conciousness that everyone entered at some point (just not aware or knew what it was)

Self concept ✩ it’s in the name : it’s how you view yourself and the world around you. It’s you current mindset and main state of mind. Even though you can have poor self concept and still shift/manifest, it’s really great to work on it because you can say it’s a main basis on your 4d reality ( 4d = 3D reality )

lucid dreaming ✩ when you are aware that you are dreaming! This usually happens during your REM ( rapid eye movement) time when you are asleep where you brain is the most active.

Affirming ✩ the act of stating a fact / confirming it’s true.

Persisting ✩ the act of consistently maintaining a belief/affirming to the current/desired story, even in the face of challenges or doubt

SATS (state-akin-to-sleep) ✩ term coined by Neville Goddard— is a very effective technique for manifestation and shifting. It’s basically the transition period from being awake to being asleep (a lot refer to this as hypnagogia which is the state between awareness and sleep, often described to have dream-like experiences or hallucinations)! It’s great a method became many describe as the moment you fall asleep and wake up perfect to decode your subconscious mind. Now how do you use this state? Well, you basically fall asleep imagining and/or affirming a scene/affirmation which implies that your desire has been fulfilled.

Clone ✩ this is tricky to explain, especially in a non-dehumanizing way as your clone is still you in a way. I would say that it’s like the remaining conciousness that’s left behind as you normally shift/permashift/respawn to your desired reality. As you shift, your cr body won’t just lay there unconscious (unless you intend it too) and this apply to ever other reality. Your drselves, or any version of you is not just unconscious waiting for you to shift there (unless you script it), they are continuing to live their lives just like the version that you are leaving behind will do. No it’s not some copy of you or any entity, it’s literally you in just the same way that all your drselves living their lives are you, you are just not aware of them. To put it simple, it’s just you (that’s “left behind”) living your life as you/your awareness isn’t aware of them and in another reality

Time difference ✩ the comparison between the time that you spend in your dr compared to the time that passed in your current reality.

Reincarnation ✩ a term mainly originated from Hinduism and Buddhism! It’s the belief/concept of the overall cycle of death and rebirth! After death, the person’s soul/consciousness/essence will be reborn into a new lifetime and form. I’ve seen a lot of respawners (especially sca respawners) use this term when it comes to shifting and starting afresh in their drs.

astral projection ✩ a phenomenon where the person’s conciousness/soul separates from the physical body without the need of dying and travels around without it, specifically to the astral plane. It’s in a lot of esoteric and spiritual beliefs and I highly suggest you research it from experienced people before you start doing it yourself.

irl magical girls/heroes ✩ (y’all don’t know how much I have to go into depth with this so I don’t fuck up the genuine meaning- any irl magical heroes that see this and think it’s a bit inaccurate, again please tell me 😭🙏🏻) Now I won’t say this is really 100% in the shifting community but as I go into into the whole rabbit hole of magical heroes (mainly on tumblr), I’ve noticed how a lot of the them use manifestation and chaos magic!

I dont think it's worth dooming about AI art because largely i still think audiences that are invested in art largely are compelled by process about as much (and sometimes more) than end product, and i'm not sure that AI models can really catch up with process. even when people cared a lot about AI images during their sorta bizarre nonsense era, it was kinda because of the inscrutable process creating works that were like. fun to think about. like remember 2021 neuralblender and the like?

this was fun because it was the kind of image that like... only an AI model would think to make, and there's elements of it that would likely be difficult for human artists to replicate-- not impossible, but like, difficult. as such this image was and is captivating to many people. current AI image generators are basically trying to imitate either photography or, especially now, particular illustrators or particular styles of art. except like. it skips past the process, or like, the process is completely different and like. not i think especially compelling? ppl might think differently about that but there's something about like a heavily rendered AI anime girl that is less interesting to me to an otherwise heavily rendered anime girl. i remember coming across a dark fantasy genre artist on tumblr, and i was about to send them an ask about how they got a certain texture in what looked like digital work-- before i looked closer and realized "ah, this is AI, they can't give me a replicable answer." that dampened my enjoyment of images that were otherwise fun to look at. this maybe sounds bad, but without process, an object becomes kinda kitschy to me. the art-object itself is more functional than anything at that point, like how "fountain" is interesting because of the presentation of it as art, though a urinal is just a urinal otherwise.

thinking about it with games, i think there's a lot of interesting lines people draw there: what elements of development would you have a problem with if you found out some developer used AI for them? image generation is particularly useful for textures, but texture work is something a lot of people care a lot about. people care about photography, painting, and image editing... but what about like, generating a height map for that texture? what about photographing a texture, and then asking like some AI model to make it tile better? different people care about different things more or less. there's games out there who's textures tell like, interesting stories, "Sonic Adventure"s developers went on trips to places in the real world and took photos and used them in the game. that's like, really very appreciable, and makes me admire that game more-- but like also. there's a lot of games where i kinda either don't think about the texture work at all, or only really admire it for obvious observable qualities- the end product.

Using AI for code is another thing. I think like, it's kinda obvious that people would do this. programming is like an obvious use case for a language model, and i think it's questionable when people get up in arms about it. programs like RPGmaker are kinda highly appreciated for essentially taking out "programming" as a required skill to make games. this enabled a lot of artists and writers to create games, with mostly 'readymade' tools, which led to a lot of interesting art... obviously there's still programming work involved, event scripting, custom mechanics, but like i think that's similar to having to think about scripts at least somewhat even if you're getting some AI model do a lot of the work of implementation for you... but then again, there's games that are beautiful for systems that are programmed, and thought up by highly skilled people.

basically i think a lot of AI takes away the work in areas people don't necessarily care about. and that's a subjective thing. there might be a lot to care about in those areas. it makes me feel kinda bad seeing like, clipart go away in advertising. like. i saw some ad that had this AI generated art of a bowl of noodles, and it was passable from a distance, but there were a lot of problems with it that annoyed me, mistakes a trained human illustrator wouldn't make-- bad tangents, lines that didn't actually flow. but also like. okay. so what. like that's not art i necessarily care about being good... but like otherwise. process is literally cool and a lot of process will kinda have to remain human. i'd be weirded out if i saw some major company using a shoddy generated image like that because it'd feel cheap. similar to how it's a bit cheap when a game opts for 'readymade' assets.. if there's still some interesting process elsewhere there, interesting thought, that still creates intrigue. but i wouldn't be interested in like, an asset flip without ideas, lol.

tldr; i dont think writing, art, or programming are dead forever now, but like if ur writing copy, making illustration, or doing amateur work or something you will probably struggle with finding cheaper clients. which does kinda suck tbh. finding an audience that appreciates ur work and the process behind it will probably just be as variable as it always has been, though.

In the past misha has said castiel started out as a powerful angel but over time the writers starting making him weak and awkard because of mishas personality. Would you say this is the writers just being lazy instead of being creative?

As I mentioned earlier, writers eventually turn characters into the actors, it's believable that writers make Castiel awkward because they saw how awkward Misha was around the cast. Just go to any SPN conventions featuring Misha and you can see that he looks and feels out of place in the fraternity atmosphere. Where else do you think the writers got the idea for endverse!Castiel's harem and having an orgy in the middle of the episode?

As for "weak", do you mean the de-powering of Castiel every season until they stop explaining how his sporadic power works? Castiel was de-powered for the same reason why Sam's power disappeared after season 5,  because otherwise he would be an ex deus machina who could solve cases in the first 5 minutes of every episode.  What are they going to fill for the next 40 minutes?

It’s been long my unpopular opinion that Misha was Singer’s contingency plan since season 5 in case Jared prematurely leaves SPN. That way Jensen then will be promoted to lead and Castiel will be Dean’s new hunting partner. Except Jared didn't leave, and Misha kept waiting for his big day. So in the mean time the writers struggle to figure out what to do with Castiel.

There was a real chance that Jared would not return for season 11 so Misha and his team worked to prepare for his big day, long-time fans remember the YANA debacle. (X) (X). Around late season 13, Jared told WB that he accepted an offer from CBS and will leave SPN after season 14. Misha must have thought his time finally has come so he negotiated to get back on the regular status and the higher salary that comes with it.  Only for they to officially announce that SPN's 15th season will be its last during the filming of the season 14 finale. Imagine Misha’s shock and dismay, emotionally I imagine it felt like a giant middle finger to him.

Okay, now I’m finally not on the road and have a chance to reblog this, YEAH. THIS. The discourse around this has got to be among the most infuriating fan discourse I’ve come across simply because of how determined some people seem to insist that the rules of storytelling don’t apply to this one guy in particular.

Death in Star Wars is somewhat fungible. It always has been. It’s not a bug, it’s a feature baked into its DNA from basically the beginning. If a writer wants a us to know a character died in this franchise they have to make sure we know make sure we know that character is really dead. That’s why Fives has a full arc and dies in Rex’s arms, and why Crosshair has an entire mental breakdown next to Mayday’s body after failing to find a pulse.

And if it’s a character who’s part of the lead group in a show? You can’t just kill them on screen, you’ve got to justify it. Make the audience accept that it’s real and move on. Especially if you’re writing for kids. This is why Kanan got a solid episode of death prep, an on screen death, an entire completely silent credits sequence afterwards to give him a moment of silence, a reconfirmation of the death from the lead in the beginning of the next episode, a whole episode of processing and getting to a point of acceptance and consolation for the other mains, and then two more episodes of processing and acceptance for the lead while also making it completely clear that Kanan can’t come back and why.

And you know what? They still might not stay dead after that. I actually wouldn’t say no to either Fives or Mayday coming back, and could see it happening, even if I think the intent at the time was 100% for them to be and stay dead, and even if it would take a significant amount of retcon to do so. Star Wars has retconned more solid deaths than theirs and handwaved away the explanations of how. Maul is missing half his internal organs. How’d he survive like that for a decade? He got real angry, the force is mysterious, don’t worry about it. (I would object to Kanan coming back, but that’s because I don’t know how you’d round out his arc better than they did with Jedi Night. It’s the most narratively justifiable death in Star Wars.)

Popular characters come back in Star Wars all the time because they’re popular and Star Wars doesn’t really care about death all that much. There’d be nothing keeping Tech permadead forever even if they’d actually killed him off in the first place and I’m still not sure they did.

Because, I mean. They don’t kill him. They drop him off screen. All we actually know about his status is that he’s not wearing those goggles. We don’t even know if Omega, who’s usually right about this kind of thing, thinks for sure that he’s dead, because the most explicit thing she says about it is that he’s not gone. We don’t know if Phee thinks he’s dead because we don’t see her get the news—hell, you could actually make the argument that none of the bad batchers are 100% sure he’s dead (except maybe Crosshair, who might just have to think that). He’s not written like a dead guy, he’s written as MIA. The episode in which he falls is written like a textbook fakeout. There’s so much survival shadowing you could write essays on it. There was significant hinting he could be CX-2—something that’s never proven wrong on screen, by the way—which, if nothing else, even if it’s not him, served as a suggestion that Tech could have survived the fall because just hinting provides a gateway through which he could come back. He’s got a whole unfinished character arc and significant connections to the other arcs that remain unfinished. Nothing in the epilogue confirms he didn’t come back during the gap.

If I were writing this particular plot as a fakeout I genuinely don’t know what else I’d do besides just showing the man alive. It’s not just that he could come back, it’s that they’ve sort of written it in such a way that he kind of has to in order for anything outside of Omega’s arc to make any sense.

And yet this is the one character “death” where arguing that it’s a fakeout was considered the niche, delusional opinion in the more online parts of the fandom.

It was actually to the point that I kind of wonder if the solidity with which you can argue that it sure looks like an intentional (if extended) fakeout, and one of the very few intended fakeouts in Star Wars (Star Wars brings a lot of characters back, but with the exceptions of Ahsoka and maybe Fennec the returns are generally retcons after the fact) is part of what has some people insisting it can’t be changed no matter what. Not for the portion of the audience that sees themselves in Tech—with that part of the audience I think it’s as simple as the fact that we’re used to autistic characters being treated badly, have justifiably low expectations, and don’t want to get our hopes up because of it.

With everyone else, though, it’s like Tech comes up and suddenly any notion that Star Wars is space opera for children (slight sidebar—I don’t mean that as an insult, it’s just a categorization, I do think TBB is a for kids/for families show but I mean that as high praise in its case) flies out the window. I recently had a (maddening) conversation with someone who, turns out, kept arguing with me that Tech had to stay dead in part because he thought it was so obvious that the writers were/are planning on him coming back. No one does that for any other character in the franchise. Ever.

I’ve seen people go from arguing that Maul could come back again post “Twin Suns” pyre funeral on Tatooine (again, not out of the question, it’s Star Wars) to saying that Tech can’t ever come back. For reasons. I even put on a hazmat suit to trawl some old reddit posts about Fallen Order and the Ninth Sister’s “death.” And guess what?

No one in those posts thought she was dead.

Because no one in fiction ever dies in a fall like that.

The thing that's insane about the Tech Lives Discourse is that it seems to live in an alternate universe where zero normal narrative rules apply. Because so many major character deaths in media that are otherwise definitive will still get a little bit of "What if it's a fakeout" and everyone accepts this at least as a possibility even if they personally think it's a real death. And in Star Wars it's pretty accepted that even if a character died onscreen in front of you there's always a chance they'll come back even if they died out of universe years ago.

But from the second Plan 99 aired, suggesting that Tech was alive got you insulted or dismissed as delusional despite him having the single most sus "death" in history. Suddenly real life fall statistics have meaning in Star Wars and "no body no death" isn't a common narrative trope anymore. But just for him, every other character continues as normal.

Genuinely I don't understand why it's so out there to assume Tech's alive. He fell offscreen into some clouds and the only thing we know about him from the epilogue is that Omega still has the broken goggles. Literally nothing is actually keeping him dead and the fact that "Tech's alive we just haven't seen how he comes back into the story yet" is treated as a delusional niche opinion is straight up bizarre. No other character gets this treatment! Why is everyone so weird about him?

the s1 remaster negativity is killing me 😭 now listen i am of the idea that s1 is beautiful as she is and that it shouldn't be erased (which it isnt being erased!) but its not unreasonable or unnecessary for AE to want to reboot it.

i think they're reasonably a little embarrassed by it and not because its poorly animated or they found walmart funny at 13 years old or the fact that it has angry birds and annoying orange and everything a teenager laughed at in the early 2010s. its because of the blatantly ableist tropes they (unknowingly at the time) implemented and all those really weird racist jokes they were finally able to cut out via youtube editor because they've grown and changed as people. rebooting s1 gives them the chance to revisit all that as well as other things (the TERRIBLE sound mixing, lightbulbs sudden transgenderification, the way brian talks about it being canon in this stream really makes me think they're gonna revisit that)

i do think there's a reasonable chance the crustiness of s1 will remain if its a reBOOT and not an HD remaster. while they did go back an redo all the thumbnails years ago, theres a newly animated section during karma waits (the halloween episode section) resembling the old style (all of which was done by adam himself!) and i really don't think they'll backtrack on the old style since its been implemented in various other instances. and in terms of the humor and shit i would hope they wont change much? but all in all they do keep the meta-narrative of ii in mind (brian has talked about iii also being a sort of escape for the cast) and i don't think they'll change too much going forward in that case.

Lol this is a nice essay but totally ignores that Zuko renounced belief in colonization and imperialism and became Katara's ally and friend, and that she did forgive him. That's what my original post is about, the fact that the show had Zuko go to great lengths to atone onscreen and had Katara forgive him onscreen. We actually see Zuko learn to respect Katara. We do NOT see Aang learn to respect Katara. You say the kiss was "a bit much" while downplaying Zuko's redemption, and then say that Aang "needed to grow," except that he did not grow. The kiss happened in late season three and is never brought up in the show outside of the episode in which it happens.

I'm sorry, but I wholly reject the idea that Zuko is not a romantic option if he can be Katara's friend, and he canonically is. Also, you missed the point of my post, which is that Zuko grew to respect Katara and Aang did not. If my choices are between a man who had to learn to respect me and my boundaries and was forced to grovel before me in order to earn my trust (a literal romance trope) and an immature child who disrespected my boundaries and sexually assaulted me but he'll never be held accountable and is extremely likely to do it again, I'm picking the first guy every time.

It's also giving the writers too much credit to say that they got the affects of adultification right. Katara experiencing trauma over being parentified is somewhat addressed, but she's still expected to take care of the group's needs and ultimately the show concludes that this is a good thing at the same time that the show uses those traits in Katara as sources of comedy. Also all the kids are more "adult" than real kids because they are cartoon characters in an adventure story. ATLA is not a realistic story about child psychology, nor can it be.

It's also clear that the romance didn't happen because "Viacom needed a romance plot," Bryke have spoken often about their intentions for the romance plot and how it was meant to portray Aang growing into earning Katara's affections and proving he's grown up enough for her. Thus the problems with the kataang romance stem from the inherent fact that it was always driven by being a male fantasy, and the problems that exist aren't accidental, they were done intentionally because the writers don't actually care about how Katara feels. Disregarding what Katara wants and having Aang win her anyway despite being immature and never having to respect her is an essential part of that fantasy. Aang kissed Katara without her consent because the writers want us to identify with his frustration that she hasn't become his girlfriend yet. Aang never apologized for it because the writers don't care about that, people like you downplay the fact that he kissed her without consent because the romance was written from the perspective that Katara's feelings need to change to accommodate what Aang wants. The misogyny is an intentional feature, not a bug. Even if Zuko wasn't the better option (and he is) I think Katara should pick him because fuck that entire narrative.

Edit: I also want to address your tags because you use the word intersectionality but don't seem to understand what it means. It does not mean you "pick the lesser of two evils" (and I am EXTREMELY judging you for insisting that sexual assault is a lesser evil, wtf), it does not mean we should constantly judge people by identity alone. It means that arcs like Zuko and Katara's are actually necessary and should happen more often in shows, where they both have to learn to respect each other, because it's also intersectionality that Katara had to learn how to treat Zuko as someone with a facial disfigurement. Katara learning how Zuko has been victimized by his own family and how that parallels the loss of her mother is also a facet of intersectionality. Being like "oh these two characters can never have a relationship because of identity politics" is NOT intersectionality.

Just saw a post where someone took someone else's post and said that they were "projecting" onto Katara because the OP said that if they were in Katara's position when they were kissed by Aang in EIP after making it clear that she didn't want to be kissed, they wouldn't forgive Aang.

And the thing is, that first of all, projecting isn't a dirty word, it's a normal way to relate to fictional narratives. Second, we actually don't see Katara forgive Aang or even address the kiss in any way other than after she looks upset and angry and then runs out of the room. Audiences can ONLY project onto Katara because we don't actually get to see the resolution to that event from Katara's perspective. We assume she forgave him because she gets together with him in the end, but we aren't actually shown it and we know that they would be endgame whether or not the kiss had happened. Katara's forgiveness of Aang doesn't feel organic because she doesn't actually get the chance to forgive him, so of course audiences are going to question it.

Third, it's actually quite common now for writers and producers to consult audience members, especially those who fit the demographic of a character, on whether that character's actions seem plausible. This is especially true if the writers themselves aren't representatives of that demographic. Katara's actions were written by male writers, so it's not up to them to give the final word on what a teenage girl would do upon being kissed without consent, it is up to female fans to decide whether that rings true. The fact that the writers didn't even bother to show us Katara's perspective further highlights the lack of a female perspective being considered here.

The post in question also said that what Aang did didn't actually hurt Katara, and that she was just "annoyed and angry," but not hurt. And I feel like people who argue this in favor of Katara and Aang's relationship are actually downplaying the relationship quite a bit. Because if Katara loves Aang, she'd feel a whole lot more than annoyed upon being kissed by him after expressing that she was confused and felt that it wasn't the right time. She'd feel incredibly betrayed, she'd feel like he didn't listen to her. She might even question her relationship with him further and start to back away from the feelings of love that she was already hesitant to express, because what Aang is showing her is that he doesn't actually care about how she feels and isn't going to be careful with her feelings if she were to truly give her heart to him. The EIP kiss actually does A LOT of damage to Katara and Aang's relationship, and the fact that it's never actually addressed does even more damage.

I mean, if Katara didn't really care about Aang kissing her without her consent, I'm not sure why I should care about their relationship at all.

The post also brought up that Zuko has done worse to Katara but she forgave him. The thing is that we actually SAW Zuko earn Katara's forgiveness. This is a relationship I can get behind because the show cares about it. The show cares that Zuko hurt Katara and cares about whether or not he gets her forgiveness. Zuko and Katara would not have had a relationship at all without that conflict and its resolution. The show tells me that these two characters care about each other, and it does it without any sort of romantic drama AND without having the guy sexually assault her.

You are without a doubt the reason for Zayne's existence and his driving force all through school into becoming a Cardiac Surgeon. And all of that lead up to him finally becoming your personal doctor, everything he studied for is so he can finally fulfill his purpose to help you and your heart

At first, Zayne puts up a wall between you guys- trying his best to keep things as strictly professional as possible. Seeing your face in person again only brought back all the feelings he's boxed away and then some, and he was scared it would somehow come in the way of your treatment.

But he can't hold himself back for long, especially after you find yourself seeing him outside of the hospital more and more often. Going from quick hellos in passing, to checking out new Cafe menu items together, to even showing up at his place unannounced to make sure he isn't working on his day off. Somehow you've worked yourself into his daily life without any effort and everything just feels like that's how it was always meant to be

Of course your own feelings start to develop too, you aren't even sure when they first appeared. Could you have felt this way when you were both kids and didn't realize it till now? Or is it a result of getting closer and seeing so many different sides to him lately?? It all happened so naturally you almost didn't notice it at first until you sat there staring at his profile in the car one night in content silence and it clicked. You love this man with every fiber of your being

Nobody made any moves for the longest time, any plans you guys had made together were seemingly still platonic- much to the groans of those around you who were very aware about both sets of feelings. One night as he is walking you to your apartment door after spending the day together, you mention something coming up- Maybe its another Twinkle Toy's event, or even just a new movie coming out that you are dying to see. But he smiles as he listens to you excitedly talk about it, obviously deciding in that moment he was taking you to it no matter what

"So what time does it start?" "I think the site said 8pm" "Alright then, I'll pick you up at 5pm. Does that work for you?" "Why 5? We don't need to be the first ones to show up you know" He smiles at you "Well I figured it was only right to take you out to dinner first if we were going to be out that late. We don't have to if you don't want to though-" "No, dinner sounds great" you say with the biggest grin "Its a date then" he responds as he lifts up your hand pressing a gentle kiss on it before walking back to the elevator leaving you stunned

Did he just call it a date?! You spend the foreseeable future with your head in the clouds, practically floating with excitement for the date- which goes amazingly once it approaches. It's just like every other time you guys have hung out, but also nothing like it at the same time. He helps you in and out of his car and offers his arm to you while you walk side by side. Every little action he does is seen in a new light. There is no way you could ignore the flips your heart does every time you see his absolutely smitten face- not even aware of your own equally smitten look in return

And any plans from now on have all become official dates as well, with him treating you like an absolute princess the entire time. He never takes that next step forward though, only going as far as holding hands and gazing lovingly at everything you do. It looks like you have to be the one to initiate anything more at this rate

Once again he walks you to your apartment door, and he lingers just a moment before he turns back around and you grab his arm in that moment. Stammering a bit before giving a determined sigh and placing a quick kiss on his cheek. Out of sheer embarrassment you tried to enter your apartment quickly, but its your turn to get stopped. And this time its with his lips crashing onto yours. It was brief, way too brief, but absolutely electric- he apologizes and you shush him and give him the goofiest in love smile before you part ways for the night

Zayne is constantly in battle with himself as to not move too quickly or do anything that you might not be ready for. He usually lets you make the first move, or tests the waters in a way where you can take the lead in whichever direction you are most comfortable. And without a doubt, like with the first kiss you guys shared, as soon as you show him that you are okay with something he won’t hold back (of course always asking permission the next time)

Brief pecks goodnight, turn into deeper kisses in the car before you get out. He grabs your hand every chance he is able to as if its second nature to have your fingers linked between his at any given moment. You only had to invite him inside once at the end of a date before it was a given that after every subsequent date you would spend some time on the couch cuddling and making out before he went back home

Even when things started getting more intimate between you, he always made sure you were the one making the first move and continued with caution- always getting your consent before doing anything. It was touching knowing he cared so much about you, but sometimes you wished he would just stop holding back and have his way. There's nothing he could do that you would say no to at this point, you love and trust him with your entire being

You wouldn't change anything between you guys. You are Zayne's entire world, and he has easily become yours as well

i have seen a lot of posts about lucanis & illario lately, that specifically call out that some of the things Lucanis says about him are kinda mean. usually in context of 'yes what illario did was fucked up but they BOTH went thru the fucked up training and lucanis says shit to him too' etc etc. and i'll be honest as someone who does have a contentious/estranged/very-low-contact sibling relationship. everything lucanis said came off as super mild to me and they should both be WAY nastier to each other actually. yes even when you include their dynamic in wigmaker job which was both more lighthearted And heartfelt. but like if you want realism they should be going from that to 1 minute later annoyed enough to break out the super cutting remarks dragging up the worst things the other has ever done/said, specifically becuause they know it will hurt the other most. then i would believe it more tbh.
