Anakin’s head tilts to the side, and the anticipatory look melts off his face as he studies Obi-Wan as if searching for something just out of reach. Something that Obi-Wan is, perhaps, purposefully keeping from him.

“Are you—” he says, but Anakin speaks at the same time.

“Did you have someone then?” Anakin asks, far too lightly to be natural. Especially when Obi-Wan can see his hands forming fists against his tail. “Am I…”

Obi-Wan blinks, waits.

“You know,” Anakin says, frustrated. “Am I stepping on anyone’s toes, giving you my claim?”

Obi-Wan blinks, raises an eyebrow.

It makes the boy huff. “You know what I mean,” he snaps. “Swimming over anyone’s fins. Whatever.”

“Swimming over anyone’s fins,” Obi-Wan repeats, torn between amusement and fondness.

Anakin scowls and crosses his arms over his chest.

“No,” Obi-Wan relents finally. “I never thought that I would be mated at all. Or married, in the human sense of the word either, come to think of it.”

“Why?” Anakin sounds curious at least, impatience and frustration perhaps blown aside at Obi-Wan’s reassurance.

He really has taken to the possessiveness of the mers quite well, Obi-Wan thinks. But it makes sense—he was a rather possessive child when Obi-Wan had known him. It comes from having too few things to call his own. It comes from knowing instinctively to hold onto those things. Very, very tightly.

WELL...after almost 4 years of working on it, Evelynn is finally...FINALLY done. lmao In the end, she became a bit of an unwearable disaster, but all she had to do was look good in pictures, and by god, she did that like a champ~ 🖤

So it turns out once you get me going on something I Do Not Stop. So here's more art for the fic! More specifically, here's a front portrait of Yura herself:

Because I might have just come across some clips from this drama on Youtube and I was like oh wait (ʘ‿ʘ)✿ that's them

(The gifs are from the first scene in this video btw! Actually, quite a few of their scenes feel like something Satoru and Yura would do together, so that's fun hehe)
