Harry and Ginny were casually strolling through Muggle London, hand in hand, as they enjoyed the pleasant weather while they did whatever caught their fancy. If Ginny saw some clothes that she particularly liked, then they would go into the store and spend how much ever they liked taking a look at all the clothes.

Harry saw some jewelry that he thought would look incredible on Ginny, so they went to browse some more. Being able to just browse, and not worry about someone going to randomly attack them was a luxury Harry was not used to, nor had. His entire life; until now that is, was spent looking over his shoulder in worry of an attack. But ever since he had defeated Voldemort, he had been more free than ever. Free to live his life, to be happy. He was free.

Being with Ginny also reminded him that he deserved love, to be loved, and not be expected to give anything other than love back. Dumbledore used to tell him that his ability to love was what made him so strong, and was the reason he was able to defeat Voldemort. Voldemort never understood it, the feeling of loving someone, and having them love him back. Even with a piece of Voldemort’s soul embedded in his scar, it never deterred his ability to love, and it didn’t change who Harry was.

It allowed Harry to have a future, and he knew that Ginny was it. Ginny was his future, and the Weasleys his family. Ron his brother and Hermione his sister. Family didn’t always mean blood, which formed the saying ‘Sometimes the family you choose is stronger than the one you were born into.’ And he knew it was true. Look at the Dursleys, they hated Harry, and they were supposed to be related to him.

He shook his head, preventing himself from thinking about the Dursleys, they were in the past, and now he needed to focus on the present. The past is the past, and it should stay there. The future was in front of him, and he’d find out what it was. For now, he could focus on the present, and he smiled at Ginny, who had been staring at him curiously.

“Something wrong?” She asked. “Nothing’s wrong when I’m with you.” He said, pecking her softly on the lips. “Smooth talker.” She grumbled, but Harry could see her fighting back a grin. He chuckled when Ginny’s stomach rumbled. “Guess I should feed my Weasley.” He said, lowering his voice. Ginny grinned at him and tugged his hand to a nearby restaurant. Yesterday was history, tomorrow was a mystery, and today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present. He was happy, and that was all that mattered.

I Can't Believe It, Splatoon Grand Festival! Just a Week Away!

I finally figured out how to send images from my switch lite to my phone, and from there I was able to email them to myself, so I've put together a little fit check :3

My splashtag is "Splatzone", which I thought was a fun name until I realized it was the name of one of the x series modes. Still keeping it cuz it sounds cool, plus it's my favorite mode to play.

Before people come at me for choosing team present, no, I did not do it just because it's being repped by OtH, even though they are my favorite splatoon idols.

I am a very anxious person. I always have been for as long as I can remember. I'm constantly worrying about the shit in the past, and the potential shit in the future. Both have looked bleak to me for most of my life. But recently, I've been trying to take measures to not overthink as much. Part of that has been trying to anchor myself into the present.

You can't do shit about the past because it already happened. You can't worry so much about the future because it is ever-changing.

But you can do something now. Right now.

You learn from the past to work towards a better future, right here in the present.

So….this is it for this installment of splatoon huh? The grand festival will be coming upon us soon.

As this is coming around, i guess this time I will be actually talking about it.

So which is most important to me?

Well the past is hard to remember, whether due to past car accidents, life stuff, and other things, it isn’t as important, as the actions have already been done, there is no going back now to change what happened no matter how much I may want to change it or see the alternate path.

The future is everything, and also way too much. Its way muddied in so many “what if’s” that to try and focus on it is a hard thing, the dominos you set up today can fall a way you didn’t expect and you need to be able to accept that sometimes the future you envisioned isnt gonna same as it did on the paper in your mind.

So that leaves team present.

As oogway once said: “the past is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift, that is why it is called the present”. But not only that quote is my reason for picking team present. What is important to me is the choices I make in the now, the choices that will become history that shape my future, the present shapes and makes both the potential futures and the stories of the past that I will tell.

That is why I am team present.

To the ones after us,

You may or may not be surprised to find this message. To be forward, we are, as far as we are aware, the first living beings in this local group. Or, we were. We are long gone by now. But we have left gifts. Clues. Knowledge. To help you on your journey in hopes that you will get further than we ever could. 

If you found this, it means you reached our original home planet. We call it Terra. We evolved here. This is where we took our collective first steps into the vast unknown of the universe. This blue marble kept us alive for so long. There was a time in our history that we mistreated it. But we eventually realized how to truly work in harmony with our beautiful little part of space. From exploiting every aspect of it, reaping every resource dry to coexisting with it, realizing we are a part of it as much as it is a part of us. We no longer became overlords of the world, but caretakers, gardeners. And we took that philosophy into the stars.

As we traveled from star system to star system, we began to realize just how little we knew from observing back home. As you journey to other planets, you may find more messages from us. We have laid out some ground work for uncovering the greatest mysteries of the universe. Though we ourselves will never see what comes of the work we have done, we rest easy knowing that some others out there can go further because of it. 

We do wish to offer advice. Look to each other for support. Learn from the past, both ours and your own, find comfort and tangibility in the present, and prepare for the future, not just yours, but the ones that will come after. Do not be afraid of helping each other. So much of this universe can feel like a cruel and indifferent place, but don’t let that make you cruel and indifferent to each other. Finally, though the seemingly unanswerable questions of the universe are very alluring, do not let them distract you from the simple pleasures of existence. Enjoy the wonder of life and the company of each other. 

We as sentients have the remarkable ability, burden, and pleasure of being the part of the universe that gets to experience itself. You being happy is the universe being happy. You being sad is the universe being sad. And as you gaze into the great expanse in fear or amazement, know that in that moment, that is how the universe feels as well. We are reality’s answer to entropy. Not only are we prolonging existence, we may be the reason existence is at all. 

There is much to learn and much fun to be had, and we will be here in these messages to help guide the way.

Thank you for saying that it really means a lot, I actually used to write fan-fiction a couple years back and I’ve recently tried to start again but I’m very critical of what I write and how I write it so I’m incapable of producing a single chapter.

Now that you mention it, yes I completely understand what you mean about R not being able to be extremely cold to Tara. R seems like the type of person who’d be hurt and disappointed, someone who wouldn’t necessarily be cold to Tara but would definitely hide from her. For R I’d imagine it’d be an internal battle of what she wants versus what she deserves, we already get a feel for that in the first chapter but it was easier for her to choose what she wants- which is to provide whatever comfort and happiness Tara wants because she loves her so much over what she deserves- someone who cares about her in a consistent manner and not only when it’s convenient (boo Tara😡). After Tara’s outburst I think R would have to force herself in every way possible to really process that she can’t put Tara’s needs above her own anymore, as much as she loves Tara doing that would reinforce the notion that everything Tara said is true. We know she always runs back but now that’s she’s been ridiculed for it she can’t.

The way she’s always there for Tara makes me wonder about her background. Maybe this is TMI, but I personally have experienced many relationships like this in the past. My father abandoned my sister and I at a very young age, so part of the reason I would always be there for them and never left first even when I should’ve but wouldn’t- was because I never wanted them to feel as unloved and unworthy as I did when my father left me. By the time I was a teenager I’d already forgiven him for all the abuse my family endured because of him, in my heart nobody could ever hurt me the way he hurt me- so I’d forgive them even though the people around me would expressively tell me not to, you know? But im older now and I stand my ground, i can leave when if its what’s best for me and not get too caught up in what’s best for them.

I’m from California by the way! It’s 10:30PM right now, you’re from Brazil though? That’s so cool! Did you grow up there? My parents were born in Mexico but they moved to USA in the late 1980’s, I wanna move to Mexico and live there for a couple years because my mother loves and talks about her hometown so much, the idea of seeing where she grew up in person and picturing her as a little girl warms my heart.

I feel like everyone is gonna be critical when it comes to their own stuff, like, I'm not kidding when I said i thought second best wasn't that good, specially because I used to be an essay tutor/monitor at school and my writing had to be more than perfect. I haven't watched House of the Dragons yet, but I was captivated by the characters and their undeniable chemistry. They truly fascinated me, leading me to read into the history of Rhaenyra and Criston Cole through Google searches and watching short clips on TikTok and YouTube. It's my first time attempting to write a fanfic, and I'm still undecided on the title for this oneshot. I hope you enjoy it!

ONESHOT

Heat, that was the sole sensation Rhaenyra experienced at present. The scorching blaze that consumed her being, as she succumbed to anger that mirrored the flames. How did it come to this? Where did it all begin? Perhaps she pondered these questions before, but now she stands here defenseless. Her sons, yearning and desiring to safeguard what remained, she could not shield - not even for the throne. Ah, the throne, she mused as her body burned, she had time to contemplate. If only she were granted another life, she would not pursue it, would not even dare. As she closed her eyes, light was the only things she saw.

Unbeknownst to her, the gods do hear. Why now? Is it a blessing or could it potentially be a curse? That depends on the individual's perspective. What caused the gods to grant her another chance? She will find out perhaps sooner or later.

"What is this?" Rhaenyra wondered, as she hears breathing, sensed heartbeats intertwining with hers, and felt the touch of hands. As she opened her eyes, she witnessed the figure in front of her, their lips slowly parting - Ser Criston Cole. Is this the consequence of her past mistakes? Is this a dream, a reminiscence of the past? or is this reality? A kiss, a game of pursuit, a playful act she recalled, when she was young and perhaps naive. What was she doing here? She wondered.

Eyes brimming with desire, she can tell, yet she possesses the wisdom to resist, for it was this very temptation that led to their downfall.

"Ser Criston," she uttered, gently pushing him. She must maintain her composure, despite her confusion about the situation. She needs to unravel the mystery, but at the same time, she must avoid repeating the same mistakes. Perhaps the gods listened to her, but for what reason?

"Yes, my princess," he responded in a husky tone, his longing evident as he brushed a strand of hair away from her face. It was her own doing, as she spoke words she believed to be encouraging. She would later regret it.

As she extended her hands to caress his face, she softly uttered, "We cannot continue."

Rhaenyra continued, extending her hand towards him, "I understand my previous words, but I genuinely wish to prevent any future regrets."

“I allowed my desires to overpower me, neglecting to protect my rational thoughts. I offer my sincere apologies, Ser Criston."

“I am hesitant to break your oath, as this” she hesitated, barely audible “is the only thing you have." She remembered about the moment when he proposed to her on the ship. She doesn't wish to cause him pain, as they both have endured enough.

"You are an exceptional knight, the very reason I selected you, but it would be too much to request this." She reached forward, height differences are evident but nevertheless, it did not stop her from reaching and planted a gentle kiss on his forehead. Ser Criston gazed at her with unwavering focus.

Rhaenyra gestured towards the exit as they parted ways, saying, "You can return to your duties, Ser Criston. A kiss was all that I had to offer as a gift of your service."

Ser Criston stood there, unable to grasp the situation unfolding before him. He couldn't utter a single word as he stepped out of the boundaries of the princess's chamber. Unconsciously, his hand brushed against his lips.

As the door closed, a sense of relief washed over Rhaenyra's mind.

Possibly this time she can rewrite the past, her life, and it's a chance she shouldn't miss. Yet, little did she know, behind the door, emotions are brewing.

Ah, the famous Goetia of Mathers and Crowley!

Hmm. Dantalion. Andromalius. Who are they?

Today we won’t be talking about a single demon, or two, or even three, but four incredible demons! I’m just that generous! Unfortunately I can’t be too generous with information because there’s not much out there, being that most of these sources come from the same place. But let’s start at the beginning. In the hierarchy that I primarily use, that of Jean Wier, we find a list of 69 demons, as well as several princes and grand dignitaries; but in the Lemegeton we find instead 72, corresponding to the 72 angels of Kabbalah who stand in opposition to them. In this list we also find four additional demons: Vassago, Andromalius, Seere, and Dantalion. And 69 + 4 = 73, which raises us to one last demon, Pruflas or Busas, a prince and duke who rules over 26 legions. What are these new demons? Who are they? How are they connected?

Vassago, the third demon on the list in the Lemegeton, head of 26 legions, is a prince, said to be of a good nature, the same nature as Agares. What they meant by that at the time remains a mystery. No information on his appearance, we only know of his powers, which are knowledge of the past, present, and future, and he is capable of finding any lost or hidden thing. He makes men hypocritical, ungrateful, and perjurious. Vassago can be summoned between March 31st and April 4th. He is thus opposed by the angel Sitael. Vassago is mentioned in the Book of the Office of Spirits under the name Usagoo, who appears as an angel just and true in all his actions and rules over 20 legions. He has the power to make women fall in love with his summoner, and will reveal all their secrets.

Seere, the 70th demon listed in the Lemegeton, is a prince ruling over 26 legions, and subordinate to Amaymon, king of the eastern realm of Hell. He’s not an evil demon, but rather nice. He has the appearance of a handsome man riding a winged horse. He has the power to go any place on Earth in the blink of an eye to do what he is ordered, such as to transport messages, objects, or even people. He’s something like Hell’s post officer. In addition, he can reveal hidden things, bring about abundance, and is said to be a demon of letters. Summonable between the 6th and 10th of March, he is opposed by the angel Jabamiah.

Dantalion, the 71st demon listed in the Lemegeton, is a duke ruling over 36 legions, and is one of the most distinguished demons. He has the appearance of a man possessing a number of faces, of both men and women, and holds a book in his right hand. He teaches every art and science, and can read anyone’s thoughts, revealing all their secrets. He can notably influence one’s thoughts and will. His greatest pleasure is to provoke impossible loves. Furthermore, he is able to project visions into people’s heads, no matter how far away. Summonable between the 11th and 15th of March, he is opposed by the angel Haiaiel.

Finally, Andromalius, the 72nd and last demon on the list in the Lemegeton, is a count of Hell who rules over 36 legions. He has the appearance of a man carrying a large serpent in his hand. He has the power to summon any thief who has acted against you along with all stolen goods, and will punish them as he sees fit. He reveals actions meant to harm you and punishes the wicked. If you are wise, he will reveal to you hidden treasures. Summonable between the 16th and 20th of March, he is opposed by the angel Mumiah. These are thus the angel and demon who correspond to myself, having been born on March 19th. Just a little info in case you want to send me a birthday gift.

Like I said, we don’t have much information on them, neither in the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, nor in the Infernal Dictionary. Most of what we know comes from the Goetia, the Lesser Key of Solomon cowritten by Samuel Mathers and Aleister Crowley and published in 1904. I don’t know where they found all this information. Nabi, to be honest I grew a lot and still growing, back then I thought kailangan ko mahanap yung perfect girl para mag work yung gusto kong relationship, yun pala it's the other way around, I need to find the girl who is willing to make a relationship work with me and that's what makes it perfect. “This too shall pass”, these magic words teaches us the power of impermanence. The basic idea of these words is to remind us that, whatever situation we are currently going through in life, is temporary and will change. Legend has it, that these words were engraved on a monarch’s ring, by his wise men to remind him that joy, sorrow, exultation of victory or desolation of defeat are temporary.

Nothing is permanent in this world. Everything changes except the law of change. We have experienced many elated moments and sorrows, support and setbacks, victories and defeats. They all have passed away over a period of time, maybe short or long, but have eventually passed away, leaving us to face the oncoming task with more vigour and resolution.

Therefore, let us rest assured that, these days of trial and trouble, hardship, pain and grief caused by the pandemic throughout the world, will not last forever. “This, too, shall pass away”. At the same time, let us try to live in the present and welcome each day, experience it, understand it and face it with courage and intelligence to ultimately enjoy it, because as Alice Morse Earle says “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.”

Gautama Buddha emphasises the significance of living in the present by saying “The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly”.

God has bestowed the greatest gift of analyzing and adaptation to us human beings to cope with any uncertainties and calamities. The present, if well spent, will be the happy memories of tomorrow and a foundation stone for what is in store for us in the future. Because, in today lies all the “truth and reality of our existence” as said by the great court poet Kalidasa in the 5th century “Look to this day, For it is life, the very life of life, For yesterday, is but a dream, And tomorrow is only a vision; But today well lived makes yesterday a dream of happiness, And every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day! Such is the salutation to the dawn”.

Ive watched a video where author compared the original english version of kung fu panda and russian dubbed one and they said that the iconic quote “ Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.” -

-didnt get translated correctly, simply because of language difference.

Mostly because “present” and “gift” can have same meaning in english (due to it being homonym with a meaning similar to “gift” ), but in our language “present tense” isnt a homonym to “present” with the meaning “gift”.

And someone in comments said:

Possible translation of Oogway:

“Yesterday has passed, Tomorrow is unclear , and today is real. That’s why it’s called present.”

Because  in our language “present tense” is an homonym to a word that could have meanings “real”, “true” or “geniune”.

Essentially, in my language context, that phrase could mean “Past is history, future is foggy and unclear, but present is real and geniune”.

Also people pointed out that present (“настоящее”) could partially be a pun for word “worthy” bc in russian worthy is “стоящее”.
