How is canon Annabeth abusive?
You want a list?
Alright!
1. She constantly hits Percy. Kicking him in the shins, elbowing him in the ribs, punching him in the gut. Not to mention the judo flip scene. Also, this is never said to be done playfully whatsoever. And it's done constantly in EVERY book.
2. She always belittles and calls him stupid. Like his plans never work. Ha, they work more than hers! Also, the parallels of her calling him Seaweed Brain, when Gabe called him Brain Boy! Like how would you feel if you have a nickname constantly degrading your worst insecurities?! All the damn time! Not to mention Thalia, who Percy was the first person who helped her after she stopped being a tree, after spending the school year with Annabeth started calling Percy Kelp Head and viewing him as dumb. Annabeth who ignored Percy all this year, and was overall just selfish and mean when they met again.
3. Annabeth is so possessive of Percy. Even before they are dating (which doesn't make it any better when they are), Annabeth doesn't let Percy be friends with Rachel. Trying to drive a wedge between the two. And Percy, literally only has Grover and Annabeth for friends. He is so alone, he needs more friends! Oh, and then with Jason she interrupts the two of them chatting and trying to get along. Also, just how she doesn't like that Percy seems to like Camp Jupiter, like he can't seem to have his own differing plans from her.
4. Tartarus. Everything about that was so bad. Like in Tartarus, whom Percy fell down to FOR HER, Annabeth brings up Rachel because in her thoughts, she needs to keep her boyfriend on his toes. Like bitch! Then, we get to how she thinks Percy is so manipulative when he talks his way to get Bob to kill his brother. Like that isn't Annabeth's number 1 tactic. She's so fucking judgemental!
And then the scene with Akhlys in Tartarus. Where yes, Percy is being scary torturing this goddess who tried to poison them to death. But she just tried to kill them! He's saving their lives! And then, Annabeth makes Percy promise her to never use those powers again, because "Somethings aren't meant to be controlled." Like do you know how useful poison-bending could be to save lives? What difference does this make from using a sword to kill monsters when all of them are trying to kill and/or eat Demigods! Not to mention, if someone is poisoned, Percy could help heal them!
Next, because of how horrible Annabeth made Percy feel for using these powers he attempts suicide. After he gets out and faces Polybotes, who controls poison, he doesn't even try to save himself and says to Jason that he deserves to die by poison for what he did! He tried to kill himself! And Annabeth never talks to Percy about this again, and instead talks to Piper who thinks Percy needs to be restrained like he's some kind of monster when he was saving them! Percy is literally the most selfless and kind person out there. And Annabeth treats him like crap! She doesn't deserve him!
5. Percy isn't allowed to have bad thoughts on Luke. Luke, who's tried to kill him repeatedly since he was twelve! And in general, this ship is so toxic and codependent right now, it's in no way healthy.
Anyways sorry for my rant, but yeah Annabeth is abusive, and it's just so concerning how people possibly in elementary school are being exposed to this being a healthy relationship, where girlfriends can hit their boyfriends, and can stop them making friends with others, because they belong to them like some sort of object.
Yeah, I just relate to Percy so much, and I don't want him to deal with another Gabe.
Edit: Okay, for anyone who likes Annabeth or Percabeth, I don't care - you do you. You can like and dislike all the characters and ships you want, just as I can. So, if you disagree with what is said, that's fine, but don't expect me to change my stance when I have already pointed out several concerning behaviors. So, like good humans, we'll just have to agree to disagree and move on with our days.

Kinda going based off of your SA Hunter head canons and your Gilded Aged AU, do you think Hunter sees Belos interacting with Luz and feels intense Jealousy? Belos’ attention seems like absolutely everything to Hunter, to have someone steal that attention. How do you think that would play in their relationship? if you don’t mind me asking.
Yeah…. Yeah their relationship gets a bit rocky. Hunter just wants Belos to care about him, to love him, they’re family, and yet this human girl shows up out of nowhere and Belos is so nice to her. At least from his perspective. What gives her the right? And then Luz has the nerve to look at him with those big sad brown eyes and pity him?
and the thing is, he can’t even bring himself to hate her. She’s so nice. So kind. she’s interested in what he has to say, she teaches him Spanish, and she’s the first person who gives a fuck about him enough to worry and ask if he’s okay when he’s not. Her touch is gentle and he’s never been hugged before. It’s so nice.
He thinks to himself that as long as she doesn’t stick her nose where it doesn’t belong, they can keep being nice. Belos will reward him for being good, and Luz will be there to give him a breath of fresh air when he fails.
But Luz will do no such thing.
#tiny ficlet#gilded cage au#basically luz catches on to the fact that Hunter is being abused PRETTY EARLY and she’s just. she’s gonna be in his business and standing+#+ up for Hunter 100% of the time. she’s willing to stand between him and Belos to stop him from getting hit#sa mention

On Stella (Helluva Boss)
The fandom fights a lot over Stella and how she's written. Fans who like the way she is presented say it's fine that she's a one-dimensional 'evil queen' trope. It's not bad writing that she's so shallow and one note--some villains are better that way.
That isn't an inherently wrong statement. Some of the most fun villains are shallow, evil, for evil's sake types. Unfortunately, I don't think Stella works as this type of villain for a multitude of reasons.
Reason 1: Stella's 'evil' trait is at odds with the themes of the show.
Stella's primary evil trait is that she's cruel to Stolas simply because she likes being cruel to him. She's abusive and hates him. That, by itself isn't the problem. The problem is that the story isn't about Stolas being in an abusive relationship--it's primarily about two people from two different classes, and how they have to become better people and change in order to have the loving relationship they both want.
Yes, Stolas being in a past abusive relationship could be a hurtle to his growth as a character and him being in a relationship with Blitz, but the show never goes there even when it could. Stolas is not shown as being triggered by Blitz's yelling at him. In Apology Tour he has no issues fighting back and telling Blitz off, ordering him to leave. Blitz's yelling and more aggressive attitude isn't what leads to their misunderstandings, where Blitz accidentally hurts Stolas by reminding him of Stella's abuse.
Instead, Stella's abuse isn't even touched on in any major way, and does nothing to move the plot forward or cause connected drama between the two leads. Yes, she hires Striker to kill Stolas and that does at times cause problems, but she didn't need to be abusive inorder to explain why she'd want Stolas dead. In a world where assassins and murder is around every corner, it'd make just as much sense for Stella to hire Striker because Stolas cheated, and it made her a laughingstock among her high class friends.
I'd even argue her abuse makes the story make less sense. We know, from Stolas's own admission, that once his daughter was born, their marriage wasn't necessary. He claims he stayed to give Octavia a normal life, but if Stella is as volatile as she's shown, why would he think Via being around her was a good idea? If Stella had been less outwardly antagonistic and instead more cold and standoffish, with the both of them having mostly separate lives, intersected by polite, if strained family interactions when around Via, then him staying would make sense.
One of the reasons I think more people wanted Stella to be a caring mother to Octavia was because it explains why her and Stolas were still married despite her constant abuse towards him. If Stella cared about Via, and they were close, Stolas would be not only reluctant to leave but to let their false pretense of 'happy couple' slip in front of Via, since both would hurt her. It also would make Octavia's choice to stay with Stella and her anger at Stolas hold more weight, and give Via more complicated emotions. She'd really love her mom, but be confronted with the fact she hurt her father, who she also loves. As it is, it's pretty clear to see that as soon as Octavia finds out Stella is pure evil, she'll easily go back to Stolas with very little if any internal conflict.
Reason 2: Vivziepop claims she's not a one-dimensional character.
A really huge issue with Stella being presented as a one note bitch, is because the creator herself claims she's not. In an interview, Vivzie says Stella is like Beatrice Horseman from BoJack Horseman, saying that at some point we will see things from her perspective.
The problem with this is that Stella has already been portrayed too negatively and flat for this to work. Beatrice worked because, while yes she was awful to Bojkack, she also had Alzheimer's which gained her some sympathy points, as did the way Hollyhock cared for her. She also wasn't always over the top horrible to Bojack, being more passive-aggressive and neglectful.
On top of that, despite her abuse toward BoJack, particularly when he was growing up, she wasn't framed as the reason for all of BoJack's issues. He was still responsible for his own shitty actions as an adult, and when he retaliated toward her, like tossing the baby doll off the balcony, it was framed as shitty behavior. More than anything, their interactions said more about BoJack than Beatrice. Him trying to hurt her, by throwing away her baby doll or putting her in the shittiest nursing home he could find was to show how BoJack wishes he could retaliate against his mother for all the things she did to him, but it leaves him feeling hollow because he knows that due to her disease she's not aware of who he is. It's meaningless, doesn't help him get any closure.
Stella is not presented as anything other than over the top abusive in every scene she's in. Nothing in the show suggests she's anything besides violent, even going so far as having her choking dogs in a childhood picture. Nor is Stolas's treatment of her supposed to reflect on him or characterize him. The only time it might is when he ignores Via because he's too caught up fighting with on the phone, but again, it's not given much focus and he doesn't reflect on it. The same goes for the cheating--yes, Stella was abusive and he doesn't necessarily owe her anything, but Stolas refuses to acknowledge that what he did clearly upset Stella, both times he talks about it asserting that he knows he didn't hurt her. No, they weren't in love, but cheating is still degrading, and Stella is obviously upset. Frankly, I think it would have made more sense for Stolas to rub that fact in her face--he has no issue insulting her, as we see later in that conversation. Instead, his continued assurance that he didn't hurt her or do anything wrong feels like the writers talking through the character, afraid watchers will judge Stolas to harshly otherwise.
Stella getting the Beatrice treatment will likely fail because there is nothing to soften the audience toward her even a little. She has been presented as Stolas's tormentor and nothing else. There are flashes of possible sympathy for her when she interacts with her brother, but for the most part they're framed as Andre being right and Stella being stupid, rather than Stella possibly being manipulated and used by her brother.
It also will fall flat because unless her background is another showcase of how even the upper class are hurt by the system, and this leads to something either story or character wise for the main cast, then there is no point to bring it up. The point of Beatrice's story was to show how generational trauma seeps down into the next generation. BoJack doesn't even have to know about it for it to reflect on his character and explain why he is the way he is. He and his mother parallel each other, where they start out as innocent children but through their parents mistakes, they grow up into cynical, bitter adults who both feel as if they've wasted their lives.
Reason 3: To many villains.
Stella has taken a backseat in her own villain story to her brother, who, just like Stella, is simply evil (he's even characterized as a catty bitch, just like she is, except less of a yeller). It's true Andre wants power, whereas Stella wants...well nothing really, just Stolas dead I guess, but for the most part they are nearly the same. Andre is just a better written version of Stella since he actually gets to make plans and have an end goal.
Once Andre gets introduced, Stella is redundant because she offers nothing different and in fact offers less to the story overall. If Stella was going to be a flat, evil for evil’s sake villain, she and Andre should have been combined. It would have made far more sense to have Stella be a bit smarter and be the one plotting to get Stolas's power. It also would have made the court scenes more impactful because Stella would be a character that was established far earlier, and who we know is a major threat to Stolas, since she's the one that hired Striker to torture and kill him.
If Andre was going to be the main big bad for Stolas, then Stella needed to offer something different. Generally the underling under the main villain is more sympathetic, and less evil, as a way to showcase how much worse the main bad guy is. Or they're more charismatic and show up far more than the main bad guy, like Azula and Ozai. As it is, Stella is neither. She shows up just as little as her brother, and does far less.
And, while Vivzie is a woman herself, I do find the handling of Stella to have mysoginistic undertones, mainly that since her brother has shown up, she is constantly shown as stupid, and that her only good quality is her looks--things her brother constantly brings up, but are not framed as shitty on his part. Them being essentually the same charater make this look all the worse, since Andre, as I've said, didn't need to be a charater at all, and Stella could have been the main villain instead. To pretty much sideline a female charater in order to introduce a male charater that fills the same roll is not the best. Just like racisuim, sexisuim doesn't have to be done purposfly, and I don't blame anyone who finds this choice to be sexist.
Then there's Striker.
Another reason I think Stella and Andre should have been combined. Striker worked really well as the side antagonist under the main villain. He's the one we see more of, he's more charismatic and has hints of a generally interesting backstory, one that we know would fit into the theme the show has of class issues. He's a mirror of what Blitz could have turned into, while Stella could be presented as Stolas's opposite. Even their work relationship could be a dark mirror of Blitz and Stolas's real love for one another.
As it is, Striker is under two other villains, one of which has become essentially unless to the story (Stella can't do anything Andre can't at this point, especially since her and Via aren't shown to have a close relationship). This reduces his threat level and reduced his screen time since he now has to share it with another character. We can see this in the newest episode, where we get a scene where Andre is talking to Stella and then Striker appears later at the trial with no explanation. If Andre and Stella were combined, that scene could have been Stella going over the plan with Striker instead. This would have helped Striker's character, since as it is, his appearance at the trial is confusing. Maybe he's just out for himself and his selfishness won out over his hate of Royals, maybe he was blackmailed, maybe he was so furious and his pride wounded so much by Blitz he'd do anything to bring him down, maybe it's a combination of all three. We don't know because we aren't given the set up. Is it cool that Striker was a suprise? Sure, but in this case it wasn't worth not showing the charater's reason for doing something that seems to go agasint his own charaterization.
Reson 4: Threat.
One of the main reasons to have a simply evil villain is so the can be incredibly menicing. The Aundence doesn't have to feel anything but fear for the protagonists and hate for the villain. They pose no deep moral question, and it feels great when they're beaten.
Despite being a major villain we never see her threat felt by the protagonists. Take her abuse of Stolas. We see her go to hit him and he catches her hand easily and tells her off without issue. Stolas has no problem standing up to Stella ever. In The entire show Stolas is never portayed as afraid of Stella.
Contrast this with how Moxxie and Crimson interact. Yes, sometimes Moxxie does stand up to his father, but we are shown how terrified he is of Crimson multiple times during the one episonde they interact. In comparison Stella's actions never make Stolas even worried. The most we see is him doging things when she throws things at him, but he doesn't seem genuinly afraid, and it's forgoten as soon as she leaves.
He insults her over the phine, insults her to her face. When he learns she hired Striker we arent shown him suddenly relize he underestimated her and become afraid. He instead he's more conserned with his reletionship with Blitz and getting him a crystal. Stolas never tells Blitz about Stella, so we don't even know how Blitz feels about how she treated him.
It's hard for a pure eveil villain to work when only one charater even seems to know they exist and they aren't even worried about offending them. The only way this could work is if Stella pretended to be nice most of the time, but was secretly ploting, like Scar in the Lion King. Instead she's framed as this force of nature, pure bitch, who torments Stolas, yet Stolas doesn't even show anxiaty when having to meet with her, something we know he's prone too because he shuts himself in the refrigerator when contemplating his confession to Blitz ending badly.
If the writers want Stella to be evil--make her evil. Let her be powerful and scary. Have Stolas fintch at her voice, show flashbacks of her hitting him, let her win arguments and verbally tear Stolas down. Make her smart enough to plan things on her own.
I think when alot of people say Stella is a badly written charater it's not nessesarily because they wanted her to be good, or complex. I don't see alot of people angry at how Mother Gothel was written (besides her deisgn being anti-semetic) or Maleficent. It's possible to write evil, one-dimensional female villains. The issue is that even as an evil bitch, Stella falls short in a mutitupe of ways. Her charater is a complete waste, even more so now that her brother has been introduced. She has no reason to exist and serves no narritive purpose. Even as a raod block to the Stolas/Blitz ship she isn't nessesaey because their main issue is the class systum. Stella could have been dead before the show started, leaving Stolas with Via for drama, and Andre could be the evil uncle trying to get Stolas's power.
Stella is pretty much a sexy lamp, execpt the sexy lamp is also a bitch. She's less affective then the random bitch charaters introduced in romatic webtoon comics that are only there to be mean to the main charater and try to steal her man. Stella's not badly written because she's pure evil and simple, she's badly written because she doesn't serve a purpose in the story and could be replaced with a sexy, evil lamp.
#helluva boss#Stella Goetia#helluva boss stella#helluva boss critical#helluva boss striker#idk#Stella is an interesting character because she really feels like a remnate of a first draft#like i feel like her and her bro would be combined asap if helluva was made a live action show or something#and if she had to stay change her from simply wanting to be mean because lolz#and more because she loathes stolas for cheating with an imp#i mean fans say thats one of her reasons#but it's not actually touched on past a few insults#like playing up her classism would really help make her fit with themes of the show more#i also think her being abusive sort of makes Stolas's half of the show a bit lopsided#like i wish she was more like Verosika because then Stolas could learn something from his past relationship like Blitz did#as it is all of Stella's critisizuims of Stolas are presented as her being a petty abusive bitch#which makes it harder for Stolas to get good advice on how to be a better partner#because none of the toxic stuff from his only relationship was his fault#even when I think there are some things that could have been used#like his habit of just not listening to other people#he does this with Via#and he does it to Stella#aka he doesn't even notice shes ordering a hit on him at the table#its played for laughs but Stolas's lack of paying attention to people#is shown alot#even with Blitz#like when he doesn't notice how much Blitz hates his nicknames#even though he's really vocal about it#idk i think it would have been nice if Stella could have told him that#in the same way Verosika was able to tell Blitz how he fucked up during their relationship

Solas and Mythal’s relationship is that perfect blend of fucked up and tragic I have been wanting from them for a decade. The mother and her child, the two lovers, a queen and a general, the dog and its master, the servant and the lord. Love it. I knew I sensed fuckery with the way solas talked about her despite ‘burning her off his face’. Then to see him shrinking up in front of her, how he groaned ‘mythal’ in dread and even began to hold the dagger out towards her to take bc he knows he’ll do anything for her if she asks. man needs therapy for his absolutely disastrous and problematic situationship thank you for letting me watch your traumas unfold like that king
#dragon age#if anything i wish they'd made it MORE fucked up!!!#it's honestly wild to me that they even left it as vaguely fucked up as they did considering how much they sanitized the game#also my love to hate her isn't even entirely from solas its bc i romance morrigan lol#in case the mythal defenders get on my case about calling her The Worst Best Person#it is The Abusive Mother in her that will keep her on the list#im a solavellan who is like WOO MYTHAL unhand him shebeast!!! but also go girl traumatize everyone you love#i know you're all sorts of fucked up as you became retribution. i wish we could have seen you as a proper goddess#because you're power hungry and unhinged with a need for vengeance despite the alleged motherly kindness#she has always been my favorite character to hate but also love she's so complicated#unfortunately her design is mid AF!!!!! in veilguard but she's so cool. i know you were supposed to be cool babe#i love that she's so unapologetic and bc of it you swing big hammers at her as a dwarf#'oh but she loves modern elves' ??? where??? the ones wearing her slave markings? crazy. love her though#personally i think modern elves and solas and morrigan and every dwarf that has ever existed#should hit her her with sticks until she moves on to a new host#prawn posts

"Angry robin" "violent robin" "misbehaving robin" shut up and accept my alternative; spunky Robin. Determined and head strong, can out-stubborn the Batman, has a strong moral-backbone and does what he thinks is right regardless of what anybody else says, Robin. Jason who was sassy and quippy and made crude jokes with a smile on his face. Jason who hid in Bruce's cape and whispered gossip to him. Jason who, if Bruce refused him something, could keep bothering endlessly until Bruce caved. And also dramatic Jason. If Bruce tells him no, it becomes a whole theatrical show; a monologue, a narration, embellishments, and falling onto the floor in his grief upon the fact his cruel father has denied him once again.
(Jason who has suffered through abuse and homelessness and poverty and starvation, who is the Fight out of Fight or Flight, who's built up defenses and walls and when pushed and triggered responds with the thing that's always protected him; anger. He's sweet and kind and funny, and when he sees a pimp hitting a prostitute he gets furious and responds with violence.)
#my dc posting#dc#jason todd#jaybin#im having so many thoughts abt jaybin and he is so important to me#in one fic he went on a hunger strike bc alfred didnt eat w them and did it for so long they had to compromise#i love a jaybin 100% willing to menace and bother batman until the man folds. as is his right#the thing abt jason's backstory is that it shows him unwilling to suffer for a home#ma gunn's is bad; he gets beat up and she tries to get him to help rob a place. so he leaves! and rats the whole thing out to batman#and shows up himself cus he didnt think he had been believed#and lets not forget the fact he hit batman with a tire iron and called him a 'big boob'!#the boy's got moxie!! let jaybin be crass and angry and sassy and flawed and traumatized without reducing him to 2d caricature of a 'troubl#d kid'#i dont like a jason who did nothing but use excessive violence and disobey orders and be cocky and all that shit#i like a jason who was. oh yknow. a complex person!! a child/teen who has been fucking abused!!!#you shouldnt erase the fact that jason's reaction/response to stressful situations and triggers IS anger#it's not an indication that he was always gonna become a criminal/red hood or whatever. get outta here w that shit#but like. let us not go so far in the other direction we forget to have him react and be affected by the abuse he's suffered#anyway. if anyone should be a drama-queen it should be jaybin. once he becomes truly comfortable w bruce he should dial it up to 11#a lot of red hood's appeal (to me&many others) is that he is an 'imperfect' victim. meaning he is angry and flawed and doesnt suffer quietl#but is loud and obvious abt it#so when i see jaybin written as the opposite its like. man whats that about#anyway. jaybin is good and cares and wants to help and protect people. and by god if i ever see anybody writing#him having arguments with bruce about the no kill rule WHILE robin again im gonna throw hands istg-#my tags are like a hidden treasure box. most of what i say is in here lmao

Julie told Danny what Frank's middle name was, so now that bastard can full name Frank any time he wants. He loves the expression of terrified 'Oh SHIT' every time he does it
New daddy issues trigger unlocked - idolized older male mentor scolding you with your full name
Danny has different ways of actually yelling at his stupid kids when he means it and almost always gets a reaction from them, I think.
Frank - full name, very stern, sends him away
Joey - asks what his mother would think
Julie - nothing, just ignores her which upsets her more
Susie - "I'm not mad, I'm just so disappointed in your choices"
#ask#penntoxide#the way susie will instantly burst into tears though#with frank its different because he's used to being screamed at or hit or abused as punishment#so to actually be firmly scolded and sent away by his not-dad makes something in him crack a little#julie's used to her parents' light punishments (since she's such a 'good girl') and isn't afraid of a hot temper#but being ignored?? getting no reaction?? totally dismissed?? no okay fine she won't do it again can you just *look* at her

That one chef saying that the worst thing about a bad boss is how they unlock that behavior in you and seeing Carmy mirror the attitude of the chef that terrorized him and gave him panic attacks and then ending the season with Syd having a panic attack because of the stress of working with Carmy...diabolical.
#idk if it's a little too on the nose or not (i literally just finished the season so i haven't had time to sit with it) but that whole#element is so interesting (and so devastating). and the ways that mirrors all of Nat's worries about continuing the dysfunction of her#family now that she has a kid...#i also think its a good portrayal of how not addressing your trauma and leaving things to fester can end up hurting other people way more#than it hurts you. like even if Carmy is okay with choosing to not have a life or to be close with anyone (which. debatable) he's#not the only one whose life gets fucked by that. the mess just radiates out until it hits everyone around him and he ends up creating#the same circumstances that caused his dysfunction in the first place.#even if evil joel mchale chef is right (a+ casting btw very punchable face) and carmy needs to ruin his life to be a good chef#--which is a big if--he's actively making the people around him less able to do their jobs. which then makes the people around them#less able. and so on. so in the end it's still net negative. and like. chef terry proves that he's actually completely wrong#the environment in her kitchen is the exact opposite and everyone is operating at an insane level anyway no abuse necessary#this season was definitely the weakest of the 3 but i rly wanna see where they go next. and they better drop the next bit soon bc that was#in no way complete#the bear#the bear season 3#carmy berzatto#sydney adamu#the bear spoilers

Look I know he lost some skin and some limbs and some fat but I am in a bit of doubt that Jimmy was carrying Curly around so easily.
Like he’s clearly too weak to take Swansea in a fight and he’s an old guy who’s been drinking mouthwash for months AND just got roofied. Not to mention he was very much starving by that point in the game. You can argue Curly was too and his condition just added on to the weight loss but he was just carrying him around like he was a handful of grapes.
In my minds eyes Jimmy can like lift like maybe 50 pounds with a little bit of effort. Like he’s got no muscles he’s average. Curly’s still big after he crash like that man ain’t getting picked up by that twig.
#jimmy needs to use the arm cruncher like part of his disdain for curly is this one’s just more capable#so I think he likes carrying him but it’s not easy he likely hit him on walls or almost dropped him a few times#he thinks it’s funny that curly would squirm or groan when it happened cause he still has to#depend on Jimmy’s support no matter how many times he lets him fall and it’s thrilling to him and agonizing to Curly#because he’s realizing all this time Jimmy has just been waiting for this exact moment to be in that position#well not this scenario but he wants that dependence from someone like it’s why he went after Anya#she’s likely the one he saw as the easiest being the only woman and depicted as rather petite and withdrawn not in the literal sense#just she’s not flashy with her self her personality is somewhat contained so unless you know her you wouldn’t see the change which is again#something abusers look for in forming relationships with people and taking advantage#mouthwashing#jimmy mouthwashing#curly mouthwashing

Andrew hitting Ashley out of frustration and her getting turned on by it. Like that's her main reaction to getting backhanded, just more horny. Eventually she asks him to do it again when they're in bed together. He doesn't want to at first, he feels like even by their standards it would be messed up, so she realizes she has to goad him into it, and gets a really twisted mutual abuse cycle going~
This is exactly the Coffincest content I'm into
I find it so sweet when guys worry about hitting you in bed it's cute to me
I can really see Andrew just getting lost on his anger and frustration for her because he both loves her and hates her with a passion and finally just backhanding her while she's taunting him and eroding at him
And her only reaction it's getting even hornier about it, Ashley just loves getting put in her place by him, manhandled and hit, and bred, tbh I can imagine her dripping wet over Andrew putting out his cigarettes on her skin.
Ashley is such a virgin I wonder if she herself would know what she's into it or if it's like a learning curve for her.
Afterwards just her wanting to gaude him into hitting her again and again while they are having sex and he doesn't want to because he specifically associates it with the part of him that really just wants to kill her and then kill himself.
And I don't think Andrew really likes that aspect of him.
And Ashley just realizing she can always taunt and gaud whatever she wants out of Andrew as long as she keeps pressing him and trapping the situation.
So she abuses him mostly psychologically (And at parts physically too) which results in him abusing her physically and they only get worse and worse ! That's so hot !
#Ashley living out my best dreams#one of my favorite Ashley traits is that she really does just hit him when she gets upset akdkd aww my girlie shes an abuser and my man hes#an abuser too they are everything to me#the coffin of andy and leyley#ashley graves#andrew graves#coffincest#soleil asks

I've witnessed first hand how fucking awful an overly controlling and manipulatuve mother can be.
It destroys your mental health. It makes you question your own worth and intelligence. It makes you unsure of who or what to believe. It makes you terrified of others perceiving you in anything but a positive light. And that's just mentally.
When people say Riddle's backstory was "tame" I want to strangle them because no, no it fucking wasn't. Just because she (supposedly) isn't beating him doesn't mean he has a "less bad" or "less tragic" childhood.
#quinn quips#riddle rosehearts#heartslabyul#twisted wonderland#riddle's mom is so abusive and terrible#just because she isn't said to harm riddle physically through hitting or whatnot doesn't mean his past is tame#she was literally starving him#she stunted his growth bc of how controlling she was of his diet#she destroyed riddle as a person and ruined any chances he had of interact with the outside world normalcy#*normally#i well tell you right fucking now if he somehow never overblotted he would have been fired from whatever job he ended up in bc of his-#behaviour#she is so damaging to his wellbeing#for those wondering my mom is similar to this to my sister just not over what she eats or her grades or her job

i was telling my sibling about the Would Hannibal Eat Them poll mini essays i was doing and it became “people gotta lay off mr suzuki man. him and yamada are friends. they were acting. why would suzuki even be responsible for yamada’s paycheck when they’re coworkers. suzuki isn’t his boss. and again it was An Act” which devolved into “people Really hate goro when julie was the primary abuser in their relationship” and like man i Hate to be number 1 goro defender but like. like you honor he Did do that. but so did she. and then “bro i fucking hate policeman”
#i HATE to be number 1 goro defender bc like. women characters are USUALLY treated worse for the same crimes men characters commit#but i feel like people hate goro for being an alcoholic Combined with him throwing the bottle at julie#and they like. forget julie’s constant mistreatment of goro That We See#like i get it ! seeing a drunk man A Father act out and hurt his wife is. all too common a thing that happens.#i say this as someone who’s dad use to be Very physically abusive and was drunk for a lot of it !#but peopel don’t seem to realize that He Isn’t A Violent Drunk. julie is usually And Frequently the one hitting him#she smacked him in the cutscene we First see them#she hits him. she berates him. she threw out his belongings His Passion Projects. and up to that moment he just Took it#their daughter even tells you she hates her dad bc he doesn’t stand up for himself Or For Her against her mom/his wife#he is not an angry or violent person. he’s kinda just passive and sad#him throwing the bottle at julie was a breaking point type moment#Julie’s storyline is her realizing how shitty she treated her family!!!!!!#i believe in women’s wrongs!!!!!!!!!!!#chulip#words from the monarch

"It turns out that sometimes the future actually belongs to someone else."
Happy Taransusie Tuesday, everyone! Here's...
Content that only ostensibly focuses on Taransusie and is more than anything character analysis of a third party?
How romantic! 🎉🥳
Okay, but no, seriously. Joshing aside, the other day I posted a meme about Sectonia and how she might feel about the idea of Taranza eventually moving on from her. And it was funny. We all laughed. But things can't always be goof-goof "If everyone started saying 'she sent her for you' I would start haunting literally everyone here because no I didn't." I'm a serious guy. I like exploring concepts that make me go "OUCHIE!" and so let's look at that sort of idea through a more somber lens for a moment.
...How would Sectonia feel if Taranza eventually moved on?
Now, I don't know if she's out there... somewhere in Hades or haunting his ass, but either way I think about her a lot. How she might feel in death, especially if she was returned to her right mind.
I think... Sectonia would have a lot of complicated feelings. Like, before we even get to the relationship nonsense. Let's toss all that aside for a second. I think Sectonia would be simultaneously be crushed by the state she left Taranza in and still... upset to eventually see him heal from it. She'd be glad, of course, to watch the scars she left on him fade, but all the same... seeing him make new friends— leave her behind...
That would have to hurt a little bit, wouldn't it? After all, it's not like she'd be afforded the same opportunity. She died young. Via circumstances that were hardly her fault. Of course she'd be a little bit jealous. Of course she'd be a little bit depressed. Maybe even a little bit angry. And she'd feel bad about it, but she would.
So when you factor in the idea of Taranza entering another relationship... oh my gosh, those complex feelings would only intensify. Taranza deserves to be happy. Taranza deserves to move on. She would know that rationally, but at the same time, the heart isn't always rational.
I do think ultimately she'd support him. In whatever he chose to do. Even if it hurt her a little. The least she can do is give him her blessing after everything that happened.
But that's something that applies to just about any Taranza ship. Let's talk about Susie for a moment.
I... think Susie and Sectonia are people who have some similar issues. At least in my interpretations, they're both people who have warped and maimed themselves in an endless search of perfection hoping it will grant them acceptance from others. But this hasn't granted them peace of mind, and in fact all it's done is pull them further from 'themselves.'
I don't know. I just think they'd have a lot to talk about, even in contexts that don't flagrantly disregard the Bechdel test like this one. They're both girlies who would, like, really vibe to both "Oh No!" by Marina and the Diamonds and "Body" by Mother Mother if that's a sentence that makes even a lick of sense. Their mental illnesses aren't the same, but they're like cousins. Their mental illnesses went to school together.
I think this sort of... self-recognition through the other would both make things easier and harder on Sectonia. Because on one hand, I think it would further be a reminder of all the things she'll never have no matter how badly she wants them, but I also think it would help her... have more empathy for this person she's initially inclined to see as her enemy, and maybe even help her eventually want good things for her.
It's kind of a complex scenario. More serpentine than I could possibly portray in a single comic or Tumblr post. Eventually, I'd like to write a fic from a deceased Sectonia's perspective exploring these sorts of ideas. But for now, I'll leave you with one last preposterous observation:
Perhaps this, too, is yuri. 🤖🐝
#its the age old debacle! when does wanting to be another girl wrap around to wanting to kiss her?#kirby#taransusie#taranza#susie kirby#sectonia#queen sectonia#susie haltmann#susanna patrya haltmann#kirby of the stars#hoshi no kirby#hoshi no kaabii#i think all people who ship taranza with someone other than sectonia (me included) should be forced to like#write a 2000 word essay on how she still plays into his story and would affect his ability to have relationships#and is a fascinating character in her own right who adds a more interesting angle to literally any dynamic if she's like.#explored instead of carelessly brushed aside so whoever you ship with taranza more can 'fix' him#if you devote tons of time and thought to taranza and none to her outside of occasionally like .#treating her as his one dimensional abuser/fridged woman to eventually move on from#then i'm going to hit you with a giant flyswatter#several times#but enough of me complaining#a few details in this comic are specific references to my kirbyverse/fics i've written so i'll explain those here#panel with susie & implied body horror is because in my interp she mechanized herself in a desperate attempt to stay by her fathers side#then as for those last few panels with the scarf#and taranza not wearing HIS scarf#that's actually a reference to a fic i wrote about taransusie getting together and uhhhhh How Complicated that would be#i won't explain it all i'll post it eventually but what you need to know is when Taranza decides to enter a relationship#he leaves the matching scarf he had with sectonia at the base of the dreamstalk because he feels like he no longer deserves it#but mysteriously it ends up back on his bedside table smelling of cyclamen and zinnias the next day#wow. i wonder how that happened! definitely not a sign from someone saying 'hey. it's okay. i don't hate you.' nooooooo

I'm tired.
Bruce Wayne is a character driven by the loss of his parents, his family. He decided to become a vigilante, a hero, because he wants to protect families, he wants children to stay safe with their parents. Him gathering Dick, then Jason, then another bunch of kids, is him healing his trauma through them, because he sees himself in them. When he picked up Dick, it's after seeing a child cry in front of his parents' dead bodies, and he saw himself. He couldn't let him suffer like he did, become like him. When he picked up Jason, it's after seeing an angry orphan fighting in Crime Alley, and he saw himself. He couldn't let him suffer like he did, become like him. Because Bruce knows that he is a mess of a man, that he is far from healthy, and he doesn't want Gotham to birth more criminals or Batman. He lost his family, and he was alone, but those kids will not. He will be there for them, so they grow up in the warmth of a family, even after their loss. He wants them to have the life he never had. He doesn't want them to either be angry or sad, as he was and still is sometimes. That's also why Jason is his failure, because he wasn't able to protect him from the horror of the world, of the pain and the anger, but it doesn't mean he doesn't love him. He grew up all alone with a butler in a big manor, his communication skills are close to none, but he would never willingly hurt children or his children, even when they are all grown-ups. Bruce Wayne's character is about family, making him a bad father goes against the family theme. He isn't perfect, good never meant perfect, he fucks up sometimes, and he learns to be better. He does his best, and his best isn't perfect, because that's not possible.
And, he's a hero, protector of humanity, making him an asshole is completely counterproductive when it's not the point of the story to have a hero who is an asshole (how are you supposed to feel protected by an abuser? To feel hope because of an abuser? You can't, but we are supposed to root for Batman)
#batman#bruce wayne#batman the animated series has a great characterization of Bruce#like he cares deeply about people even criminals#he tries to make Harley see that Joker is abusive toward her he shows pain when Jokee hits her she was trying to kill him#telltale batman also#like he is fighting his inner demon he is so scared of becoming what he hates#also he admits of being a crazy bitch#dc comics#my ramblings

I'm so upset with the ARK Animated Series. I managed to watch it and they destroyed Edmund Rockwell's character. They made him into this creep and completely ruined his character.
#ark survival evolved#ark survival ascended#edmund rockwell#He is a massive creep to Helena and then hits her and demands she helps him abuse creatures#Like wtf??? They made him start out as the villain for no reason
