Ukraine Remembers.

Russian Gen. Igor Kirillov had been in charge of using chemical weapons in Ukraine in violation if international law. Such weapons had been banned in warfare since the aftermath of World War I. Apparently Russia has used chemical weapons over 4,800 times in Ukraine. Arguably this makes Putin's Russia worse than Nazi Germany in this regard.

Pedro Pascal showed up at the Golden Globe awards with his arm in a sling which chromatically didn't clash his outfit.

To me, that illustration makes him look just slightly like Littlefinger.

Pedro Pascal hit the red carpet of the Golden Globes where he was nominated for Best Actor in a Television Drama. He may have lost out to Kieran Culkin for Succession (who playfully shouted “Suck it, Pedro” in his speech), but he won big in the menswear department. After a strong, left-field track record that involves mesh Acne button-downs, Maison Margiela pajama robes and the shortest Valentino short shorts, he opted for a full Bottega Veneta look, with an embroidered turtleneck as the star of the show. In a simple pair of black trousers and chunky ankle boots, Pascal completed the look with yet another pair of statement glasses—this time, some half-rimmed black and clear frames. They've become somewhat of a calling card at this point, with their own fancam community to boot. And while we're talking the importance of accessories, Pascal had something no one else had at the Golden Globes 2024: an arm sling. When asked on the carpet what happened, he simply said “I fell,” before adding: “Be careful, it can happen to anybody”.

‘গেম অব থ্রোনস’ সাইবার হ্যাকের শিকার টেলিভিশন চ্যানেল এইচবিও বড় ধরনের সাইবার হ্যাকের শিকার হয়েছে। বিশেষ করে প্রচারের অপেক্ষায় থাকা তাদের জনপ্রিয় টিভি সিরিজ ‘গেম অব থ্রোনস’-এর ১.৫ ট্যারাবাইটস ফুটেজ, পাণ্ডুলিপি ও তথ্য হ্যাক করেছে নাম না জানা হ্যাকার। জনপ্রিয় এ টিভি চ্যানেলটি এ ঘটনায় দ্রুত তদন্তে নেমেছে । ৩১ জুলাই এইচবিও কর্তৃপক্ষ নিজেদের অনুষ্ঠান হ্যাকিংয়ের বিষয়টি জানিয়েছে। তারা জানায়, ‘গেম অব থ্রোনস’ ছাড়াও ‘রুম নম্বর ১০৪’ ও ‘ব্যালারস’অনুষ্ঠানের ফুটেজও হ্যাক হয়েছে। এদিকে দ্য টেলিগ্রাফের ভাষ্য মতে, হ্যাকার এক মেইলে লিখেছেন, ‘‘হে পৃথিবীবাসী আপনারা কি জানেন, এ যুগের অন্যতম হ্যাক ইতোমধ্যে হয়ে গেছে। এটি হয়েছে এইচবিও চ্যানেলে। এটা ‘গেম অব থ্রোনস’-এ।’’ অন্যদিকে চ্যানেল কর্তৃপক্ষ জানায়, পর্বের পরিমাণ ও অন্যান্য তথ্যাদি নিশ্চিত হওয়ার পর বিষয়টি নিয়ে তদন্ত চলছে। খুঁজে বের করা হবে কীভাবে এত বিষয় হ্যাক হলো। /বাংলা ট্রিবিউন

Just north of Evanston is the Baháʼí Temple in Wilmette which is shown in the reposted images above.

The Baháʼí Temple is the likely inspiration for the Sept of Baelor.

French artist Marc Simonetti created this image of the sept in 2009 – two years before the HBO series began.

The version used in the TV series had more of a Byzantine influence.

তুরস্কের জনপ্রিয় টিভি সিরিজ আরতুগ্রুল দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হয়ে ইসলাম ধর্ম গ্রহণ করেছেন ৬০ বছর বয়সী এক মার্কিন নারী। শুধু ইসলাম ধর্ম গ্রহণ করেই ক্ষান্ত হননি উইসকনসিনের ওই নারী নিজের জন্য ইসলামী নামও ‍বেছে নিয়েছেন তিনি।

ধর্ম পরিবর্তনের পর ‘খাদিজা’ নাম বেছে নেন ওই নারী। আনাদোলু এজেন্সিকে দেয়া এক সাক্ষাৎকারে খাদিজা বলেন, নেটফ্লিক্স ব্রাউজ করার সময় তিনি আরতুগ্রুল সিরিজের কিছু পর্ব দেখে ইসলামের প্রতি দুর্বল হয়ে পড়েন।

তিনি বলেন, আমি এই ইতিহাস সম্পর্কে কিছুই জানতাম না। এই সিরিজে আল্লাহ, ইসলাম, শান্তি, ন্যায় বিচার এবং নিপীড়িতকে ��াহায্যের ব্যাপারে যা কিছু বলা হয়েছে, তা দিয়ে আকৃষ্ট হই আমি।

খাদিজা বলেন, আমি দ্রুতই এই সিরিজের ভক্ত হয়ে যাই। তবে আমার কাছে সবচেয়ে ভালো লাগে মুহিউদ্দিন ইবনে আরাবির চিত্র। তার কথা আমাকে কাঁদিয়েছে। তিনি আমার সবচেয়ে পছন্দের চরিত্র।

তিনি বলেন, এই সিরিজ আমাকে আকৃষ্ট করে এবং আমি চার সিজনের সবগুলো দেখেছি। অনেক সময় আমি সিরিজ দেখা বন্ধ করে, এসব চরিত্রের কথাবার্তা অনলাইনে সার্চ করতাম। এরপর থেকে আমি ইসলাম এবং অটোমান সামাজ্র্য নিয়ে তথ্য খোঁজা শুরু করি।

ইসলাম গ্রহণের আগে খাদিজা একজন ব্যাপটিস্ট ক্যাথলিক ছিলেন। তিনি বলেন, এই শো’য়ে যে নৈতিক মূল্যবোধ দেখানো হয়েছে তা আমার হৃদয় জয় করে নিয়েছে। এই শো আমার জন্য একটি ইঙ্গিত ছিল। আমার ধর্ম বিশ্বাস নিয়ে মনে যে প্রশ্ন ছিল তা পরিষ্কার হয়ে গেছে এখন।

ইসলাম সম্পর্কে আরও জানার জন্য পবিত্র কুরআনের ইংরেজি অনুবাদ পড়েন তিনি এবং স্থানীয় মসজিদেও যান। সেখানে তিনি নামাজ পড়া শেখেন এবং পরে ইসলাম গ্রহণ করেন।

ছয় সন্তানের মা খাদিজা এখন হিজাব পরেন। তিনি জানান, তার সন্তানরা তার নতুন ধর্ম বিশ্বাস নিয়ে কোনও প্রশ্ন তোলেনি। তবে আমার বন্ধু-বান্ধবরা বলছে, আমার ব্রেনওয়াশ করা হয়েছে। ধর্মান্তরিত হওয়ার পর থেকে তারা আমার সঙ্গে দেখা সাক্ষাৎ বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে।

If I navigated the Stark genealogical charts correctly, Ned is the great-great-great-great-grandson of Cregan. Add one additional great- for Ned's offspring and also for Jon Snow whose mother is Ned's sister.

Queen Sansa's rule would be influenced by the rate of recovery The North was making from the various conflicts since the death of Jon Arryn as well as the severity of the winter which Westeros was experiencing.

Westeros as a whole was not in great shape by the end of the series. They managed to avoid complete annihilation by the Night King but at great cost.

It takes a while to rebuild and to restore resources. But Sansa has talents as a manager as well as political skills she developed through her various associations. So with help from a stretch of peace and a mild winter, she might be doing reasonably well.
