GoT/HotD and LotR have breathed new life into sword making. It may be a rare art, but it has avoided becoming a lost art.
A Scots swordsmith has thanked popular TV shows and films for keeping his craft alive after "almost" being the last of his kind. Rob Miller - who has a three-year waiting list for his commissions - has been working in the specialised craft for the last 33 years after he moved to Torrin on the Isle of Skye. The dad-of-one recalled learning his art from scratch in the early 90s through magazines and writing letters to booksellers to find novels to learn how to make intricately crafted swords from steel. With few swordsmiths around at the time, Rob feels he helped prevent the profession from becoming “completely redundant”. However, in recent years he has noticed a boom in demand thanks to films and franchises such as Lord Of The Rings and Game Of Thrones which hark back to the past. Rob has now set up a workshop in his back garden, where he lives with his wife of 15 years Meg, 52, who is also an artist, taking between one week to several months perfecting each of his commissions which are sent “all over the world” and cost anywhere between £700 and £10,000. “Whilst I’m not the last of the living swordsmiths, I almost was for a moment there and I feel I was someone who snatched it back from becoming completely redundant,” Rob said. “There were a few people worldwide but there weren’t that many back when I started.
So business is looking up for swordsmiths – partly an unanticipated consequence of ASoIaF.

GRRM said that The Winds of Winter is “three quarters” done.
Okay, let’s do a little math.
The last ASoIaF book was A Dance with Dragons which was published on 12 July 2011. That was 4,125 days ago. Presuming that GRRM began work on The Winds of Winter on that same July day, 75% complete implies that he still has 1,375 days to go to completion.
So by adding 1,375 days to today’s date, we can count on The Winds of Winter being completed on 01 August 2026.
You heard it here first! TWoW will be done in August of 2026.

You probably do not have a sword but you do have a ballot which is far more effective.

If Theon knew what Bran, Samwell, and Gilly know when he saw Jon at Dragonstone in the Season 7 finale. Artwork by NoontimeOwl at DeviantArt.
In that second frame you see a little of the family resemblance between Theon and Uncle Euron.

Generally, cats sleep where they feel like sleeping. But if your feline is a fan of Ser Pounce, the critter may be temporarily amused by this cat bed.
This picture was discovered in the section of a household design site featuring cat beds. Though the image itself may have come from Amazon.

Would a series finale involving the Faceless Men be a little too obvious?

I think it wasn't quite fully explained how Bran's power works. It's not that he knows absolutely everything already, it's like he has a dictionary in front of him, or an encyclopedia with all of history, and he can look anything up. Like at the end when Samwell says 'Oh, is this something you can see?' Bran can go back and look at it and say 'Oh yeah, that happened.' He hasn't been the Three-Eyed Raven long enough to look through all of history in the way that Max von Sydow's Three-Eyed Raven had to be in that cave for thousands of years and had been able to spend every single day exploring different parts of history, whereas Bran Stark is still only kind of looking at the important bits. It was more the fact that he didn't know where to look, not that he was withholding. That's officially how Bran's power works.

EDIT: Sorry, but the linked video was taken down by the YouTube user who originally posted it. When I tried to replace it with a similar video, Tumblr refused to embed it. I can’t tell at the moment whether this is a YouTube issue, a Tumblr issue, or some problem I’m having. Anyway, here is a link to the ending of S04E10. Unlike the missing vid, it features the last 4+ minutes of the episode -- including dialogue. As a bonus, there are subtitles in Turkish.
Remember the ending of S04E10 “The Children”? Arya Stark is on a ship sailing off to Braavos. That episode is probably my favorite season finale and the ending music gave Arya a nice sendoff.
This is an extended version of that music in the sense that it’s edited to play several times over. It shows how great Ramin Djawadi is at adding the right mood to a scene.

Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) at a gathering of GoT fans in 2016. In this clip he replies to two questions which have taken on more importance during Season 7...
1] Does he think Tyrion is actually a Targaryen? 2] How would Tywin have handled the threat by the Army of the Dead?
And because we miss Tywin so much, here’s an interview with Mr. Dance from near the start of Season 2. He reveals how he discovered the way his character was going to die two seasons later.

There are GoT related beers and wines, so a Scotch whisky doesn’t seem that unusual. Appropriately, it’s from Johnnie (White) Walker. Scotland is north of the Wall -- Hadrian’s Wall.

I love every single theory the fans of our show have, because they're so much fun. They get to show the dedication and love they have for the show, but you have to understand that it is a Doritos commercial.
