For you, I have chosen the Woolly inky cap, Coprinopsis logopus, a lesser-known but still very cool inky mushroom!

As they deliquesce (melt) they sometimes will become ink, but most of the time they form these cool looking lines along their cap, which makes me think of your art, because a lot of your posting is pretty lineart of characters!

Another reason I chose the woolly inky cap is because of how it fruits. They grow very fast and can pop up, open, and disappear within a day, or even a few hours. I chose that to reference the way you seem to always be starting and dropping projects, and as a nod to how many ideas, original characters and universes you have! 

They can grow in clusters, scattered or in clumps, and the cap sizes can vary dramatically between the mushrooms in a colony together. Woolly inky caps will fruit in fall, winter, spring and sometimes summer. They aren’t picky about what season they fruit in. Those points to me sort of represent how you make art for a few different fandoms, and make a variety of different kinds of art! Many mushrooms will only grow in one specific condition, and are very consistent with what they look like and how they grow, but the woolly inky cap will pop up whenever, and however it pleases! 

Based on my analysis of your blog, you really want people to interact with your posts, and sort of feel like people don’t care about your stuff. You ask for us (chat) to talk to you a lot, or have polls checking if it’s okay for you to keep doing your thing / posting random stuff, or if we want you to stop. The woolly inky cap, similarly, is the only somewhat-known inky cap that is not foraged, and it’s often overlooked when compared to the shaggy mane, inky cap, or mica cap mushrooms. But it’s still equally important to the environment as a decomposer, and doesn’t get enough credit. It has a job, (and I’m fairly sure you do too bc you posted about it at least once lol), and it does that job well!

Kira himself was weird. At least hard to deal with, his narcissistic nature and OCD being one side that you could manage, within small doses, but the other being his naturally cold demeanor made it much harder. Somehow, you did manage to keep some form of a friendship. It was always hard when you would bring things up, and he would brush it off or tell you to just cut them out. You had him; why waste your time with others. Correction, you occasionally had him; you knew he was fond of his own personal time and interests, plus sometimes you just need a break from his personality. Sure, it made him a little more grumpy when you called this out, but amends usually were made quickly, and you'd fall back into your routine with each other. In his own weird way, Kira knew she was more fond of you than pretty much any other person outside of his family, even if it was hard to tell. Something you probably only ever learn from his sister after his disappearance.

Josefumi always felt abandoned and left out less you were around. You checked in on him in conversations, invited him to plans, walked alongside him, and overall did your best to consistently remind him that he had value. Was it wrong for him to be sort of selfish when it came to you and how much you seem to want to be with him? It meant something special to have you around, even if only as a friend, and it wasn't like with Sakunami. Josefumi was, after all, who you always turned to as a close friend when Kira and you were doing your own thing. Although his brutally violence fighting was something you shouldn't forget, or could really as the aftermath of some of them had been burned into your mind, he overall was a kind and caring young man you admired a lot and took pride in being friends with. It wasn't hard to see his crush, a very apparent one, but nothing could ever come from it as soon as he up and vanished.

Enter Josuke, or Gappy, nicknamed by his two front teeth. An odd fellow who appeared from nowhere with what seemed no memories. Not to say he wasn't smart, but he lacked a sense of self and the world around him. And despite this. Not knowing who he is, who anyone is really, he notes there is something strange about you. Not in a bad way, but like your fates are connected. That he cares for you even if he doesn't remember who you are. And despite everything, those feelings from both Kira and Josefumi only seem to be brought more and more to the front as you spend time. There is no memory of who you were to them; they are all separate people after all, but the care he has seems deeply burned into his soul. Something he doesn't want to lose, no matter what it takes.

You knew this wasn't them even as you learn and piece together this was the two friends you had lost. Gappy was someone new, and you couldn't push the life you had in the past with "them" onto him. It crushes you to be around him at times, you admit to yourself. The loss of both Kira and Josefumi was devastating; after all, even with the troubling nature they both could have, you did care for them as friends. And Gappy himself wasn't bad; he had many good traits and was fun to be around, but it's not like he could fill the hole in your heart. But even with the distance you tried to put in, acknowledging to him it's nothing he did or didn't do, you just needed space. Time. One day, maybe things would heal more, and you'd be able to truly befriend the new boy.

Distance isn't possible, though; the feelings of Kira and Josefumi, even without memories of who they are, are ingrained in a way he can't understand or explain. Like an invisible string connecting those they held dear to each of his fingers, he can't see what makes them special; he just feels it to his core. And he can't let it slip away, let you slip away when you hold the secrets to his past and to the weird drumming of his heart. Please, just stay a little longer? His drive is relentless, and while he can play cute to keep you around if what it takes, he does have other means he'd be willing to try if you keep pushing him away.

i recently wrote to a new friend basic information about my setting and my story. i decided that it would be a good idea to duplicate it in blogs so that everyone who is still not know can get involved at least a little.

"there is a world consisting of giant hexagon-shaped pieces (when viewed from above) called hexares and they are all inextricably connected to each other by edges, like a honeycomb. inside each hexare there is its own atmosphere, soil, flora and fauna, even the laws of physics may vary (not every person will be physically able to survive). every world is weird, some of them are anomalous, in general, this is a kind of multiverse. in this world there is an association of neighboring friendly republics, an empire, which i have not yet come up with a name for. at the head of everything (for now) are people who proudly call themselves people-1, because next to them there are other variations of humanoid creatures that are closest to them in all respects, but differ in the course of evolution - people-2, people-3, etc. there are also a bunch of other creatures not only of a humanoid form (although closer to the capital humanoids predominate), but also various bizarre forms of life, this empire and all its branches occupy several hexes and continue to study the surrounding spaces for the sake of scientific development and resources.

in the capital there is an organization, an agency, where they recruit beings with and without education, promising elite work directly related to the government. the principle of work there is a little similar to the police or rescuers, but differs in high salaries and a wide area of competence. so-called universal agents, depending on their rank, every day carry out a bunch of orders of varying degrees of danger and absurdity, often related to the elimination or study of anomalies, protecting the population and other things, such as rescuing a valuable rare animal from a tree or working in a mine x–). in addition to agents, there are also personnel serving them, doctors, scientists sitting directly at the base or traveling to sites. agents, as already mentioned, have a system of ranks, they can be promoted to highly qualified (higher salaries, more expensive technology and weapons, tastier provisions), or even to manage departments, wings, or even become secret government agents; so they can be demoted to a coffee delivery person or a security guard. they have a lot of fun, but people’s moods towards them is not very positive. all the problems and responsibility for the poor internet connection in the area are being blamed on them hahah. there are also other factions: gangster families, some of which are also partially connected to the government (one of them is financially connected to the agency); independent researchers with or without a license; factories, stores, universities and others, larger or smaller. almost all of my characters are from the agency, but i plan to develop the setting and add a lot of characters to bring life to this crazy world."

Poise & Progress: The Game Plan

So in my last blog post (which was also my first might I add) I mentioned that I adore anything relating to leveling up and becoming a femme fatale. And so today I’m choosing to become a part of what I adore. 

Here, I’m laying out my goals and plans on how I will achieve these goals. I’ve decided to categorize them based on the areas of my life that I would like to elevate. I will add that this is neither an original idea or layout. I was inspired by a blog here on tumblr that I’ve been following for a while. (@boujeeceo - they haven’t been active for a while though but you can look through their page of course! I don’t gatekeep.)

I think for now this is a pretty extensive list of goals and aspirations even though in my head it feels like I’ve only scratched the surface. I’ll be going into more details on different aspects of these things here of course!

Character Analyzing in Seduce Me

If there’s one thing you should know about me, I love character writing. A story is only as good as the characters in it, and a big part of what makes me like or at least be intrigued about a character is its writing. However, the character writing in Seduce Me is… fine.

Big props to Michaela Laws, she has worked so hard in making me want to know so much more about a character, but unfortunately, a lot of that curiosity is locked behind a whole account, @sm-asks (which I highly recommend any new person or person wanting to learn more about the game check out because you can get lost in the account). Don’t get me wrong, I love the game, but I feel as though things are lacking and that’s what the account is for. Any person who has a question about the game goes on the blog and asks which Michaela then answers. But what of the people who don’t know about the blog who are missing a big chunk of the story?

I’ve learned pretty recently that if I have to look at another form of media to research a question that I have about something like a show or game, then the game is not doing a good job of expressing its storytelling. Now of course, having a comic or book about said form of said adding on to interesting or fun tidbits about a character by making something like a side story is fine, but if I know nothing about a certain character or plot I should know more about, why should I be forced to look somewhere else.

Of course, the game does a great job at expanding on characters like the incubi and Diana, but there are a ton of characters in Seduce Me. There are the incubi’s moms, their wives, the MC’s friends, the generals in the second game, the devils, etc.

Now obviously I get why Michaela wasn’t able or didn’t want to explain every aspect of every character (hence why sm-asks exists), but I feel like it’s kind of a waste to make these characters only to barely describe who they are. What I hate most is having a character JUST to further the plot, you might as well just have a box with a sign that says, “It’s dangerous to go alone, here have some trauma.” And while yes, characters are an important part of the story, again, it feels like a waste to write a character and only use them once for the story and never bring them up again. This is why I’m talking about character analyzing :DDD.

“So what is character analyzing?” I hear you ask, well the simple answer is looking at a certain character and figuring out who they are based on their interactions. But I like to go even more in-depth. We’re going balls deep into this shit baby >:D! I like looking at a character not only based on interactions but also on how they think, their feelings, how they changed, their sight, their taste, their smell, ok may not be that deep but you catch my drift.

Characters are only as good as the storytelling and the best way to tell a story is to connect. No single human is a single thought or action, humans are complex, what they do may not match what they think, what they think may not match how they feel, what they feel may not match what they do, and the cycle goes on and on.

But humans are not characters. A character isn’t always allowed on every path. Take Zeus and Hera from Greek mythology for example. They aren’t humans, they’re gods. Gods dedicate everything to one thing (or things) and they have to follow it. Hera is the goddess of marriage. If she sees someone cheating (cough cough her husband) she will take action. But since she can’t punish the LITERAL KING OF GODS, she has to punish the mistress even if they had no say in the situation, which is fucked up but a human wouldn’t do something like that, and Hera is not a human. Zeus is the god of hospitality, so if he sees you breaking the rules of hospitality, he will fight back. The gods are characters, consistently used to portray the story.

Now I want you to take everything I said about characters, humans, and gods, and throw that away. I like to consider humans and characters similarly because that makes for more interesting characters. Seeing a character as one thing doesn’t help the character, considering their complexity will help further analyze how they are in the story and what their actions were and will continue. Makes sense? Just follow my lead ;).

Let’s pick out a character from Seduce Me. Let’s do Sam because he’s the easiest to analyze (that’s not true at all XD). When we first meet Sam, he’s brash and short-tempered. Always fighting, always swearing XD, is constantly forceful (I’m running out of adjectives clearly ;v;). He’s your stereotypical bad boy and you can tell because he ripped off the sleeves of a perfectly good varsity jacket >:(

This is pretty good information to start with. However, when we pick his route, we start to figure out more information about him. First of all, his powers are super strength and speed. Second, while being short-tempered, he does tai chi. Tai chi is a form of martial arts that focuses more on rehabilitation with slow, focused motions and gentle breathing. Despite what “Karate Kid” says, martial arts is less about everyday combat and more about self-defense, and tai chi isn’t a high-impact form of martial arts. It isn’t like karate or taekwondo where the focus is more on using your body to deal blows, tai chi is closer to yoga from what I researched. This is quite surprising coming from Sam considering what we just learned when we first met him. Even the MC comments on this. Why choose Tai Chi over any other martial arts?

The more we go through his route, the more we learn that he had no reason to leave and just wanted to leave with his brothers, even though he doesn’t see the appeal of the human world. We also learn that being a demon means a lot to him. It goes more in-depth in the second game with the Binding Spell, but it is something we learn pretty late in the first game.

Now you might think I’m just listing off different things that happen in the game when interacting with Sam, but each of these interactions I can tie to an assumption. If I could skip over the first few parts for a moment,

* “Powers are super strength and speed”

- The strongest and fastest of his brothers

* “While being short-tempered, he does tai chi”

- Does tai chi as a way to calm down or is calm but gets labeled as hot-headed

* “Doesn’t see the appeal of the human when finding out at first” and “being a demon means a lot to him”

- Both points can go well together, being a demon is something very close to him which would make him hesitant about leaving his home

With these few points I just brought up, we can now look at the first few points I made and start contradicting when we first met him versus what we learned about him.

* “He’s brash and short-tempered”

- He might know of this and work towards it, but I like to think we assume this just from first interactions because we don’t see him do this after we get to know him (I mean outside of flashbacks)

* “Always fighting, always swearing”

- He is the strongest of his brothers, physically speaking. The always swearing thing I feel like that’s just habit, (I might be the nicest people who swear like sailors XD)

* “He’s your stereotypical bad boy”

- Judging by other points I brought up, I feel as though it’s just a style more than an actual personality because again, the more I see Sam, the more I start to think.

Sam doesn’t seem like the tough bad boy with anger issues. He acts more chill around us and his brothers (most of the time). We can look into his past as well. He was a middle child, he’s the only brute demon amongst his brothers, he never learned to read or write meaning he spent his time fighting and light pillaging.

If there’s one thing I’ve considered with brute demons is that while yes they can get angry (and usually do) they technically don’t have to be angry all the time, they only feed off of anger. Think of the 3 demons we know are brute demons. Sam, the Demon Lord, and Sergeant. Sure, from time to time, they do get angry, but they aren’t always angry. I’ve mentioned how Sam is pretty chill, but I also think that Sergeant is pretty chill unless he gets angry due to unreasonable circumstances, which is a fair reason to get angry. He’s determined and holds a lot of willpower, but that doesn’t relatively mean he has to get angry. And the Demon Lord is just plain evil. I can’t see him being angry, I only see him as a spoiled toddler XD.

With Sam being a middle child and not being taught basic learning I think can go together as well. Think about the stereotype of middle children, always forgotten and seeking attention. This would explain why the Demon Lord only cared about coddling James and abusing Damien while completely ignoring the rest. Sam never got any attention unless his mom appeared to give him a daily check-up. He probably had just enough attention to slip away and do whatever without getting caught.

A lot of the characters are very complex the more you get to know them, but Sam I feel is a little more concrete. While yes, I did say that a lot of the points we know of first meeting him versus getting to know him contradict, I completely understand why he would be considered and why he’s more like the ladder. I’ve always seen Sam as the more emotional of his brothers. One thing I know about anger issues is that people just don’t get it for no reason, in some cases, they get angry because the people around them don’t understand what they’re trying to prove. Sometimes they would get so angry that they’d start crying. I’ve always wanted that side of anger issues to be shown. The most I know of someone having anger issues is that they just want to be heard and understood, and Sam sticks out to me because of that. Constantly being told that you’re angry because you are a brute demon would lead to you constantly wanting to be understood and then getting angry for not being understood. Showing those emotions to me would make him feel more human. He doesn’t have to be one thing just off first base, he’s allowed to feel certain ways based on interactions.

Or at least that’s just how I see it. Everyone assumes different things based on what they think. Some use research while others use their own experiences, I use a combination of both. But if you are curious about a character, I highly recommend you take the time to analyze them and see what they could be through your thoughts. If you don’t know how to start, make a mind map, they look like the eponym of garbled thoughts spat up on a piece of paper. If you don’t know how to start it, start with a question and write the answer down (of course, you might want to make sure you write down why you made the point just so you know). Then look at the answer and start looking into where, this will start to make you think of why they act like that and research some more. Every thought has a string and it’s up to you to follow it and if you should stop.

I find character analysis fun. They not only help me understand a story better but also with writing my characters. Of course, you might want to do someone easier like Damien or Erik because they just have so much obvious shit written about them. And since I do enjoy analyzing characters, I might do this with the other characters (I have some fun ones in mind ;)), however, that might take like 80 years, so you might want to bear with me. But until then, I’m going back to fighting the urge to replay Seduce Me and staring at a wall for 15 hours.

I am sure, you all saw my last out-of-character post about how even with my only twenty-thread rule, I still ended up in a situation where I felt overwhelmed. Something, this rule was supposed to prevent. I am realising I have been looking at all this in the wrong way. To put things plainly, I have not been granting myself the same courtesies and kindness, the same compassion, I am constantly giving my rp partners.

I have been running multimuse blogs on Tumblr for pretty much ever. I have never done a single muse blog. You'd think with nine years of experience, I'd be a pro at this by now. Turns out: I keep running into the same problems over and over because of the situation, I am in. Aka I am a student with a lot of free time on her hands, a drive to create and probably some underlining form of perfectionism or at the very least stupidly high standards, even if I never verbalise those.

The first problem, I keep running into, is the fact that I feel to call my blog a multimuse blog of any kind, I need to have a lot of characters. This is a terrible sentiment because it always results in me spreading myself too thin. Furthermore, I think when I entered the League fandom after coming from Arcane, I felt like I needed a few champion muses to really count. I dunno why I thought this. Again, weird perfectionism and high expectations are strange.

Right now, I have that same problem again. Eight muses is simply too much for me to juggle. However, I do not wanna remove them because I bet I will have the temptation of adding characters again later on. Instead, I am going to basically make Naafiri, Yasuo and Kayle "by offer only" muses. This means that while they are still a part of the blog, they are basically invisible and very low focus. Unless I offer them to you to write, they cannot be requested to write with.

Speaking of priority, even the muses whom I will keep writing regularly on this blog - Jinx, Silco, Vi and Ahri - will likely shift in terms of who gets prioritised. Of my three primary muses, Jinx has always been my most loudest, consistent and most developed muse. She is almost like the mascot or insignia of this blog and I am pretty sure if you had to describe me to someone, Jinx would probably be the first character who comes to mind. Therefore, Jinx will be the one who is going to be given the most priority out of all my active muses. As for Vi, Silco and Ahri? I will get to their threads when the muse strikes me.

This brings me to the next problem I kept running into when writing multimuse blogs. My drafts always reached a number eventually that overwhelmed me. Even though the queue helped me, I also got into a bad habit: The idea that I had to post a reply every single day. After all, outside of studying, I had no job. I am on almost every day. In my head, I had no excuse not to post. And because of that, I set myself those ludicrous expectations that I had to constantly write and queue replies to keep the ball rolling. I beat myself up if my queue was too small or I didn't catch up quick enough.

I don't need to tell anybody how this isn't sustainable in the long run. Now more than ever, given that I have a student job, trying to finish my masters, am writing normally again, adding gaming and irregularly drawing as a hobby. I have to remind myself that it is okay if my queue does not post every day, that it is okay if things go slower. I have to remember to be kind to myself. I have to allow myself to take things slower. Including choosing to not rp every day and instead focus on gaming, drawing or fanfic writing. I have to remember that I do not make a mistake if I only write one draft or even none. I have to learn to be kind to myself. It feels like I almost learned this hobby the wrong way, so establishing new habits will be hard. But I am gonna try. I am sick of running into the same problems over and over again.

never an end—only a pause

      hi hello i'm sorry i haven't been around much. i kept trying to be around, but life got in the way. then i started coming back, but was discouraged because my dash has been deader than dead? it felt like coming back to an empty house...so i started slipping away again. then, when my creativity cravings were at their strongest (now), my health took another nosedive (and so i've had a headache for four days straight). i really, really wanted to do a series of individual posts with little doodles thanking some of the people i've made particularly strong connections with this year, but because i can hardly look at the screen, i'm doing a mass/gen post instead. so that's this.

      despite everything, i keep getting pulled to tumblr again and again and again. without you, that wouldn't be possible. without you, this blog wouldn't continue to exist. the stories on this blog are just as much yours as they are mine, because roleplay, by its very nature, is collaborative. someday, if i ever do manage to publish the individual (or collective!) stories of the characters on this blog in one way or another, they won't necessarily follow the same paths as their stories do on here. i have arcs and beats in mind, but on tumblr, they're more malleable. you have the power to change them for better and for worse. you might even make me reconsider what i thought was set in stone, or help me reach a new understanding of characters that i thought i knew as surely as i birthed them.

      roleplay can be such a special form of writing, wholly unlike any other kind of storytelling, and i could never for a moment forget all the bonds i've made with so many people here. i've met wonderful writers from all across the globe, and with the power of imagination alone, our lives have become indelibly linked through the worlds of our characters. that's such a magical, peculiar sort of intimacy that might seem mad to outsiders, and in many ways, they'd be right.

      roleplay, particularly on tumblr, is such a masochistic act of love, but i don't for a second regret the time i've spent here with you all, and i hope i can be here more consistently in the coming year. 2024 marks year 12 since i transitioned to writing on tumblr, and in the past months, i've managed to rediscover people who i met in the earliest days of my journey here. i hope you know how elated i am to see you still here, writing, even if we only peer at each other from across the room. i hope we can continue to write together, or at least near each other, for many more years to come. for those of you who i've yet to form much of a bond with, this is going to be our year! for those of you who i haven't yet met at all, this is me throwing a penny into the wishing well, asking the universe to bring us together.

Writeblr Re (Re, re, re) Introduction!

Hi all, I'm Ten. Again. I've been on Writeblr since, like...2018? 2019? College. I was in college, I had lots of time, lots of energy, super active. Then, well, I graduated, had to adult, the absolute love of my life became disabled, and now I'm a social worker doing my goddamn best. So I've been dead on this account for like, at least 2 years. Maybe 3.

But I'm, like, basically a cockroach, and I'm never going to get away from the desire to write things, so I'm working hard to try again, engage, prioritize the things that bring me joy. So, blurb aside, some shit about me under the cut!

I'm 24, and I do specifically case management and behavioral health services, but I shorten it to social work. Basically, I help advocate for individuals with mental illnesses and act as a buddy while they learn, or relearn, how to function in the community and work on themselves.

All my writing is queer. Literally all of it. I am deeply allergic to not putting LGBT+ rep in my writing, even if there's no romance people are LGBT+. Personally I am asexual, panromantic, violently nonbinary, and a complete disaster. My pronouns are they/them.

I write mostly sci-fi, fantasy, and supernatural type stories. And I always do happy endings. I deal with some really low lows in my daily life, writing is my escape, so I like to live in my worlds where everything turns out okay in the end, no matter how much suffering happens first (read: i am a slut for hurt/comfort).

Right now, my energy is so low that I do not want to commit to betaing anything long form, but I'd love to read excerpts, shorter stuff, cheer you on, etc!

I am also down to be a reference for people wanting to portray mental illness. Personally I have the classic depression/anxiety/PTSD cocktail, but I also have ADHD and have lots of experience with what mental illness looks like on a daily basis. Also a decent reference for LGBTQ stuff, especially in rural areas, and stuff relating to my job.

Finally, I'm probably coming off as a bit cynical here, and I do often cuss/use sarcasm, but I genuinely want to hug all of your OC's and I want to do my best to support y'all with the few spoons I have!

About my WIP's:

You can tell I have ADHD by the WIP turnover rate in this blog. I have tags for them I believe, an organized post might happen later, but here's the two new shiny WIP's I anticipate working on the most over the next bit.

A supernatural...vaguely horror, vaguely satire, series of short stories about a group of people, all of whom met at a college, who meet up and protect their college town from monsters. I hate to call it Scooby-Doo meets Supernatural vibes, because it's not QUITE that? It's based on the RPG Monster of the Week, so hopefully that gives you an idea of the vibes.

I am also hoping to start a fantasy, dnd like WIP involving a character I absolutely adore that I made for another story with my partner that needs his own spinoff. More info to come? Hopefully?

new year, new plans

what's this? a geniune alrightrandy blog post that isn't just random slop? …finally.

all jokes aside, i'm well aware that i haven't necessarily been ultilizing this site – as well as other platforms im on, as much as i wanted to. however, considering the new year has just begun i believe it's time to make some form of change around here.

i just want to preface this by saying that, all through out last year, i've ran myself into some personal turmoil that led me to essentially lack any sort of focus to work on any hobbies. it's hard to explain, i feel like i have done a lot but at the same time i clearly didn't have much creative output as much as i wanted to. and again, it didn't help that i was also juggling with stuff in my personal life too.

i guess the point i'm trying to make across here is that, i haven't properly found a right balance for myself, both creatively and irl-wise. and i certainly didn't have a proper sense of direction either… but i'm hoping to change that this year!

through out the end of 2023 up until the mid january, i've went through a pretty prolific event that kind of sparked a slew of motivation and plans to really get myself back.

in summary, around the holidays a phone of mine completely bricked itself for some random reason, making it practically inaccessible for me to use. and keep in mind, i'm still saving up to get myself a laptop, so i really had no other personal devices besides that phone.

thankfully, i did manage to get a new one – however, the point is that me being phone-less for a brief moment was very "humbling" for me. not only it was the only device for communication and having a creative outlet, but it just goes to show nothing should be taken for granted. ANYTHING can be lost in a matter of seconds, a simple reminder that i really needed to get myself together.

and with that, everything brings me to here. i've somewhat finally came up with a plan to hopefully boost some motivation within me, and also have a better commitment to my creative output.

to get the obvious stuff out of the way, in reguards of my youtube channel – as well as anything reguarding about dj'ing and music. i am going to try my best to put a heavier focus on these since its something i'm still a complete beginner at. it's a new hobby i've recently picked up, and it only makes sense for me to try to lean onto it a bit more. matter in fact...

i just recently put out something onto my channel!

i'm going try to put out at least one mini mix on a monthly (or bi-monthly) basis. hopefully it will not only expand my portfolio as a dj, but i geniunely think this could help with my issues with commiting to something. plus, i think it would definitely bring in some life to my channel since i still have no clue what direction i want to take it in.

don't get it twisted, i still want to experiment with all sorts of different types of videos. however, i can't make any promises if any of it will reach the light of day. at least with these mini mixes, they will hopefully still appear consistently even if i have nothing else to upload. idk, i think its a decent enough idea to sink time into.

now, reguarding everything about creating artwork and ultilizing my platforms. it's still somewhat uncertain, however if you checked my pinned post i have recently updated it with new sites you can check me out on!

but in short, i will also try to branch out more and maybe even network myself to finding ppl / communities. and along the way, i will also try to get back into creating art since i really have been putting that on the back burner. again, no promises but i have been putting some thought into it! (i'm looking at you Newgrounds and Bluesky…)

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!!!!

[ Time for a New Year’s post! This year --- WOW! It was packed with action for me. As someone who has lived a very monotone life it was very exciting! I moved into a house together with my s/o, and we have established a wonderful life together. Writing-wise, I had a real break-through. In 2021 there was definitely something off about my writing, but I feel like I left that behind and moved forward in 2022. I also expanded my writing horizon by beginning to write longer (personal) projects, which I enjoyed a lot! Wordcount wise, I wrote a tiny bit more in 2022 compared to 2021, but unfortunately I wrote less on Nnoitra. However! It’s not because I’ve felt uninspired. Quite the opposite! I’ve felt MORE inspired this year, and that’s been the best feeling! I’ve simply been too busy to write as much as I’ve wanted to. Settling into a new life takes time, but I feel like I’ve done that now.

AND THIS MAKES ME REALLY EXCITED FOR 2023!! Now that I have wonderful living conditions with my s/o, and I finally get to be independent (I lived with my parents up until this year) - I am ready to take a big step towards becoming a professional writer. Which brings me to -

PLANS AND GOALS FOR 2023!

Consistency is going to be a big goal for me this year. It’s going to be my focus. I’ve noticed that I simply write more and at a better quality when I write consistently. Whenever I take breaks ( which I’ve been forced a lot into in 2022 because I’ve been busy! ) my writing gets weird and it takes a bit for me to get “back into the groove”. So this year, like I did in 2020, I’m going to be writing on here every day. Regardless of how busy I am, or what’s happening, I’m going to make one IC post. It doesn’t have to be a big thing, but it’s going to be a tiny bit of writing. So that I don’t get out of the groove. Writing on Nnoitra is SO important for my creative flow. I need him. Every day. More stuff that I wanna do in 2023 =

WRITE MY BOOK! I’m not going to “try” to do it. I’m going to do it. It is a short novel, so it’s going to be about 60 000 words. The first draft is going to be finished by March 1st Second draft will be finished 31th March. Third draft will be finished 30th. The final mock-print will be printed by 24th of May. That’s my mother’s birthday and my goal is to be able to present her the book on her birthday. Then once she has read it and given me pointers, I will write another draft - which I will take to a publisher I know from when he was my writing-teacher ( he always said that once I finished a book I should take it straight to him bc he wants to help me get published ). I’m excited!

CONSISTENT POSTING! I’m going to be writing daily on Nnoitra, but my other blogs are also going to have more consistent activity. I’m going to make sure that they all get some activity every month. The past year there are several months where I’ve not posted anything on my other blogs ( especially my one piece blogs as well as Muramasa has suffered ). This year I’ll write at least a little bit on all of them every month. It’s good for my creative flow to have the ability to write multiple different voices.

FINISH A LONGER PERSONAL PROJECT! I’m currently writing a story about my Star Wars OC, as well as a story about my Hogwarts OCs. I’d love to finish one of these ( most likely my Star Wars story ). This isn’t something that’s going to be published, but I would really like to print the story in book-form. Holding one of my stories in my hand would be... Amazing. Not to mention I’m absolutely in love with the story and how it’s turning out. This is by no means going to take priority, but I’d love to keep working on it and finish it sometime during the year.

WRITE FANFICTION! I used to write a lot of fanfiction when I first started writing way back in the days, and honestly? I really miss it. I loved getting feedback and have people actually read my stories. It gives a different feeling compared to roleplaying, which is more interactive. I’d love to be able to work on “shorter” fanfictions, instead of huge ones which I’m currently writing ( I have been writing a Merlin fanfiction since 2018 and it’s still not done ). I’d love to write for many different fandoms, and get inspired by the feedback.

WRITE SPECIFIC SHIPS! This is related to my other blogs, as well as fanfiction. I’d really like to write Muramasa/Byakuya, Mayuri/Urahara and Shinji/Aizen this year, either on my blogs or simply write fanfiction for these ships.

MASSIVE WORD-COUNT GOALS! The time for being satisfied with 20 000 monthly words is over! I used to write more close to 50 000 words. This means I should be able to write more close to 600 000 words in a year, in contrast I only wrote just below 300 000 in 2022. My word-count goal for 2023 IS GOING TO BE 500 000.

TALK/CHAT MORE WITH MY FRIENDS AND MUTUALS! Being social is one of the things I’ve struggled with in 2022, and I know it’s not good for me when I don’t talk to people, so I’m going to chat more with you guys! I miss talking to you!

Now for some goals that are only related to Nnoitra and this blog! 

DAILY POSTING! As mentioned, I’ll go back to writing every day for him. This doesn’t include one-liners, but actual in character content. 

REBLOG MORE ART! I’ll get better at reblogging my friends’ artwork because I want to support them.

CREATE MORE AUS! I already have a ton - but I want more. You guys can look forward to: haikyuu!au, footballer!au, band!au, shinigami!au.

PLOTTING AND MORE INTERACTIONS! Yes, I absolutely need and want more interactions! Both with my current partners and new ones. I want to plot more pre-established relationships ( specifically in AUs as well as main verse ).

COMMISSIONING NNOITRA ART! I need more artwork of him, so I’m going to do at least one monthly commission of Nnoitra artwork! I used to do this, and I really miss having a commission to look forward to.

SEND MORE ASKS! After I began counting my sent asks vs received asks, I’ve come to realize that I’m incredibly fortunate to receive a lot of asks. I want to give back to the community that’s so kind to me, and send out at least as many as I receive!

WRITE SOME SHIP STUFF FOR NNOITRA! I really miss writing ship-stuff for Nnoitra. I have an idea for a ship-story for him, so I’d love to write that. It’s going to be set in an AU and also in fanfiction-format. I want to write some romance for him, but I don’t expect him to find a partner ( he is simply very hard to ship with, though we will keep our three eyes open for ships for him! ). I just want to have some happiness for him!

MAKE PROGRESS IN HIS MAIN VERSE! I want to continue his story! I’ve been writing his main verse for 8 years now, and so much as happened! I’m excited to see how the story continues, and who he meets this year. I hope he can make some personal development, and have a good year!

As you guys can see, I have big plans for 2023. I believe I’m finally going to have the creative year I’ve been dreaming of. Everything is aligning perfectly for me. I’m better at dealing with my chronic illness than I’ve ever been, I’m in such a great place mentally ( I am literally so happy all the time? ), I live in a beautiful place with the love of my life, I take good care of everyone around me. Unit 09: ⪩༏⪨

As someone who expresses frequently excitement about nature throughout my day-to-day life, I was overwhelmed with many possible options to write about this week. At the same time, I’m an incredibly indecisive person which made this week’s blog prompt quite difficult. Throughout these blog posts, I’ve done a lot of reflecting on the life-long symbiotic relationship I’ve had with nature and what has kept me inspired on along the journey. What excites me most about nature is not elaborate and extravagant trips and research studies, but rather the fleeting moments we take for granted. The most significant and powerful moments I’ve shared with this earth have often passed by the time I recognize them.

These small glimmers are tiny moments that pass in a blink of an eye if you’re not paying attention. These micro-messages spark joy and bring many people a sense of reassurance and connection to the natural world. To me, they are much more than that. I was raised in an environment that encouraged creative exploration of spirituality, which I have always practiced closely intertwined with elements of nature. Something as simple as seeing my grandma’s favourite bird was enough to make my day, and I would spend that evening researching and reflecting upon the spiritual messages often affiliated with whatever sparked my attention day. The beauty of nature reaches far beyond its physical wonders and stress-relieving abilities that improve the overall well-being and mental health of Individuals (Bratman et al, 2012). It can also represent divine messages meant to reach you in particular moments and be a reminder of the strengths and qualities we share with the natural world. I believe that some of the greatest gifts come in the smallest packages.

My sister captured this example of one of these moments when a dragonfly landed on my hood next to Echo Lake.

During the pandemic I was struggling with the adjustment to synchronous courses and my mental health suffered tremendously with the new isolating reality. The weight of the unknown felt massive and heavy, however I found refuge in nature. It was the one safe space that remained a consistent and reliable outlet I immersed myself in daily. Focusing on the big picture did nothing but stress me out, but what really got me through the darkest and lowest points in my life was slowing down and noticing these little miraculous signs nature sent me. Searching for these teeny glimmers of strengthened my sense of connection with the environment. They sparked my child-like wonder to explore, play, and stay curious in the magic of nature. I began going on more hikes, volunteering with animal rescues, and meditating in the UoG Arboretum.

Something that excites me the most about these natural glimmers is when they show up as animals or insects. I remember waking up one morning in October 2021 feeling crushed under the crippling weight of midterms and burn-out. That day as I left my apartment, a dragonfly began hovering around my head and landed on my hand. It stayed put for at least 2 minutes. I believe dragonflies are debatably one of the most ethereal and enchanting miracles of the natural world. Belonging to the suborder Anisoptera, there are thousands of dragonfly species around the world. They are most commonly known as messengers of good luck, change, and transformation.

There’s a certain beauty in the constant cyclical transformation of nature. Dragonflies live most of their lives (up to 3 years) as nymphs in water (Miller, 2016). Beyond the scientific textbook definition, a nymph could also refer to a beautiful entity personifying nature. These mystical maidens of nature also symbolize living spontaneously, as they only live anywhere from a week to a couple months once they mature into their final aerial form. Their unique anatomy allows dragonflies to move each wing independently, letting them hover, glide, and spontaneously switch direction of flight in a millisecond (Miller, 2016). A dragonfly’s body and glass-like wings are iridescent, the beautiful colours and shimmering texture changes colors like a kaleidoscope and shift appearance in different angles and reflections of light. I believe their fae-like appearance and inspiring symbolism can be a reminder of light and positive change to us all.
