Here’s a silly question: how would Galahdan’s react to an outsider who had somehow stumbled into interacting with galahdan myth? Like a person who’d befriended crows and is clearly a but magic because of it, or someone who can talk to snakes? Would they be mad at them even though it just happened? Would they be determined to ignore it? Or would they be curious and want to solve why this happened, or wonder if they were originally from galahd? (Not the kids taken by lucis, who they know are. But maybe someone who was just lost or orphaned by the war.) related: has anyone become galahdan that galahd forgot was an outsider, or who they refuse to acknowledge was because they became important to their history?

Not a silly question at all, my friend. You might just get a bit of a longer answer. XD

No, the Galahkari wouldn't be mad should this happen. Though it should be said that it's not exactly easy to find these magical phenomena on either continent because Bahamut upset the magical balance so much by binding almost all of the black magic to the Lucis Caelum line.

(Side tangent: I came to the conclusion a bit ago that the Fleuret line doesn't exactly use white magic, but more of a holy magic. Though I don't like that name and am trying to come up with a better one. Cleansing magic is too narrow, I feel. If someone has a good idea, please tell me.)

All that to say that the outsider must have most likely been on Galahd for some magic shenanigans to have happened. Which also means that the Galahkari must have at least tolerated the outlander enough to have them on their lands. So no, not mad. Even if it had happened outside Galahd, they wouldn't have been mad. Magic is often unpredictable and can have a will of its own, which is very much no ones fault.

The Galahkari would treat the person who got out of their Magic Incident with whatever talents/changes lake any other person this happend to. Like a normal person. Might make fun of them though for being reckless enough to have had it happen. And then educate them to make sure something like that happens again. Because magic attracts magic.

I don't think they'd really wonder if the person has Galahkari ancestry. Because magic can happen to anyone. It's just more likely to happen to someone who already has a bit of magic, because - like I said - magic attracts magic. And Lucians can have a bit of magic. Or the Tenebrabi, or Nifasi, or the Accordanse. (New name for people from Accordo! I feel like this one might actually stick. XD)

To your last question:

No, not exactly. It hasn't really come up yet, but the Galahkari do have stories about Ardyn. Because there were still Galahkari roaming about the continent when he and his brother were (properly) alive.

Ardyn was an ally to the Galahkari and helped them out. In the stories he's in, he has a lot of epithets, like all important people in their stories do.

Flame-Hair.

Sun-Eyed. Blessed by the sun.

Healing-Hands.

The Blessed-Cursed.

Most people who show up in Galahkari stories and aren't Galahkari, are declared as such. Ardyn isn't. Though he also isn't declared a Galahkari.

Which means you could lawyer your way into saying the Galahkari are trying to redact history into saying Ardyn was a Galahkar. I could see that discussion happen in the Blinded History AU at some later point in the story. (Should I ever get so far into writing it.)

But no. The Galahkari never declare someone as theirs when they aren't. Cases like Ardyn's are the closest they ever get to it.

It's a question of mentality anf pride, mostly. The Galahkari don't exactly like outsiders. And never enough to just... steal their identity for their own.

Unit Viability Speculation - July 2023

DeNA: Establishes right away that Summer is for female protagonists. First Lyra, then Gloria, then Hilda.

DeNA: Creates Variety Scouts for all the less popular characters, killing any hope of alts for all but the most popular of options.

DeNA: Introduces Master Fair reruns, each signaling the next batch of new characters they’re about to drop. SS Lusamine predicts Alola VA, SSR Cynthia predicts Hisui, and now Archie predicts Hoenn.

Literally everyone: “Okay so it’s May. There’s a May alt. It is definitely May.”

Tate and Liza.

DeNA, I hope whoever pitched this idea is running the company now, because not only is this the best long con I’ve seen, this is also the funniest way to build this up I’ve ever seen.

Summer Tate They gave Jirachi to Tate. After all this talk of May, Wally, and Lisia, they gave it. To Tate. I am in love with this decision. Sincerely, outside of the nichest of fans of these two, is anyone actually happy here? Is it just me and @megazardx2? Well too bad, fuck y’all, my boy is thriving.

Tate not only got Jirachi, but avoided what I thought was the guaranteed pain of Doom Desire as a two-turn move. No. It turns out that’s a passive now. Every other attack he throws out gets another stack of damage. While we don’t know how much, the way it’s written sounds like NY!Dawn and Oricorio, so I am fully expecting 100%. When this bonus damage activates, a random stat among the seven gets boosted by 2 stages, and the opponent’s special defense drops by 2. It’s a slow process, but special defense debuffers have my life, so I’m happy. Flash Cannon is okay damage, Thunder Wave is optimal Gauntlet shenanigans, and Charm is...present. Trainer move is a classic +4 Sp Atk/+3 crit, and sync requires lowered attack. So already his kit is wonky. Charm is sync setup, but then you’re not debuffing with Doom Desire, which takes time on its own, and you just know there’s paralysis multipliers in the grid so there’s that angle too.

Thankfully, his grid provides a form of Overwhelm 9 that I assume takes Doom Desire into account as well given how it’s listed as a P-Move? That or it’s only active on P-Move. Either really good or really bad, but it specifies attack so no -3 Atk Charm. Brainteaser’s nice, Rising Tide is fantastic, Fortuitous and another +1 on P-Moves is nice, Static Shock 5 is predictable, apparently another +1 to a random stat when he uses a status move, Natural Remedy and Quick Cure, Hit and Heal on trainer move, Ramp Up on Charm.

Tate is...interesting. I’m not sure what else to say about the lad. I think the kit is ultimately acceptable, but there are some oddities in his self setup. Oddities that Lucian completely solves. Sincerely, Lucian covers his DPS, his sync condition, and even assists Rising Tide. Will Lucian ever stop winning? But moreover, Tate is Steel-type, and raises the question...is this better than what’s currently available? Base Gloria’s expansion is to die for, Palentine’s Marnie and her Zone don’t really work well wit him given his special focus (first among the Steels to be bad with her, by the way), and we also have Rose this month, who...well I’ll get to that one. Tate just has competition, and I think the tradeoff is going to be one of utility. Tate will be better in Gauntlet than CS, no question. But I think Lucian does mean he has a home in CS.

Summer Liza I had to look this up, but apparently Celesteela does have comparable attack and special attack. I always assumed it was special dominant. Complaint redacted, this is all upside. That said, two Celesteela before a single Nihilego. I’m not mad, I’m furious.

Summer Liza and Celesteela come in as a Flying type Striker. After P!Elesa, this may raise some concerns. Be at peace, my child. Flying Shift Giga Impact be upon you. This is a double-edged sword. 4-bar spam Normal with 90 accuracy means big DPS numbers, but the tradeoff is she’s slow as hell, and has no other damage aside from sync. Iron Defense and Protect are defensive tools, very unusual for a Striker. Her trainer move raises accuracy +1, crit +3, then raises attack by how much defense is raised. Okay, so she uses Iron Defense, then trainer move, then she can spam. That’s slow. Oh, except she gets Free Moves Next and +2 defense for each status move used. So she sets up defense +4, boosts with trainer move, then throws out a free Giga Impact. Any +2 to defense off a defensive ally like, oh I dunno, Skyla, suddenly gets her to cap. That’s respectable.

Grid offers Super Victory (I love this stupid move on high DPS pairs), Tough Cookie (free money), MGR9 (Ghetsis strats), Towering Force and Team Sentry Entry for perfect self-sufficiency, HP Advantage 4 which is odd, Protect Physical Boost Up 3 for +3 physical moves up next AND Status P-Moves Up 2 for another +2 off either status move, which means Protect is a goddamn +5 physical moves up next stack on its own, Tough Sync 3, Piercing Gaze for some reason, and got dang Vigilance.

Liza. You fucking did it, girl. You actually did high Flying-type DPS without a dumb gimmick. I legitimately didn’t think we’d ever see the day. Sure, the gauges are a problem, but it’s nothing that can’t be solved by speed boosting, and Skyla is literally right there. On physical stages, that’s a free win. Masked Royal also fixes all her issues, doubles down on survival against physical stages, and debuffs defense for her. Guys, Liza’s really good. We actually got a really good Flying type Stiker who isn’t just good for sync. And it’s Celesteela. This is my daughter now.

Rose Steel Striker, okay. Good luck competing with Gloria for...oh holy shit.

Iron Head, High Horsepower, Stone Edge, Hit the Gas 5, Max Moves, and his main passive makes all of his moves and Max Moves AoE. Fucking suck it, Victor. It doesn’t even let moves suffer a DPS drop, he just does that. As an added bonus, how about we pull in some SS Giovanni, and make his Steel moves stronger while also making them never miss? Bro, Rose, what the fuck, man? Keep in mind that Iron Head is a goddamned 30% flinch rate, and it’s AoE now. His only flaw is that, despite his trainer move being Eusine-esque in its immediate capping of offense, it drops speed by 2. He was already painfully slow, and with Hit the Gas 5, Rose is looking to end a match really fast, or die trying. Which...hey, massive points for thematically appropriate sets.

For Grid, Rose is a Pokefair, and I need to talk about the 5/5 Grid first. He gets Free Moves Next on every hit while the field is a Steel Damage Zone at 5/5. This is, by far, the most lifechanging skill I’ve seen on a 5/5. Rose wants to buff, pop Max Move, then hopefully not deal with anything past that point. This lets him continue past that point. This is the off-type node. It’s that good. But, it’s also on a timer. Once it leaves, it never comes back. So I don’t think it’s all that worth it. Defense Crush 9 on AoE is hilarious though. Impervious is...fine. The speed drop being blocked is nice but eh. And extra power on his Max Move is...fine. I don’t think it’s necessary, and frankly it being at 4/5 kinda invalidates his 5/5 tools by clearing faster.

The rest of his grid is Double Down 2, Interference Immunity, Haymaker and Furious Brawn, Iron Head MGR9, MAX Super Preparation which is obscene for on-type, Double Down 2 and a 50% sync bonus when the Steel damage field is up, Sync Freebie, Max Countdown 1, and some Sandstorm stuff including Surging Sand 3 and Sands of Time 2.

Rose is...really fucking good, man. As much as I shit on Victor constantly, his AoE Max Move does put in a ton of work, and is a major selling point. Rose copies that entirely. While his base attack is lower than Victor’s, and his speed is a major issue, Rose makes up for it with much more efficient self-setup and frankly much better multipliers. Rose is free, Victor needs support. And I think Steel is a type in much greater need than Grass, while the backup of Rock and Ground, two types fairly notorious for a weaker presence, makes Rose particularly valuable as an offensive pick. But he’s very SS Giovanni-esque, in that if supported correctly, he’ll clear just fine. But if he’s not...he’s going to fail. Badly. Like, I don’t even want to think about how bad this guy has it in Gauntlet.

Oleana Hey kids, did you get Emma? No? Okay, here’s a do-over. Oleana and GMax Garbodor come in with Gunk Shot, a tremendously powerful Poison-type move. Love me some good Poison DPS. Move Gauge Boost is a choice, Venom Drench is interesting, and her trainer move is +4 Atk/+3 crit/+2 accuracy, and a -1 sync cooldown. Which is good because you want her Max Move early, as it applies Poison to all foes. Sorry, Toxic. Yeah, her passive bumps up her Poison status to Toxic, my bad. Oh and she hits the foe with Rebuff after the Max Move, by the way. And that Venom Drench? Yeah, any stat debuff from a status move on a Poisoned target is tripled. Two turns to max debuffs, and she’s an offense debuffer; I know several people about to go ballistic over this one. Statistically, she’s relatively slow and could be better on attack, 350s isn’t great for a starting point in this day and age, but it’s Poison so like take what you can get, girl.

4/5 gives Ruthless Toxin to randomly debuff the foe by 2 (not affected by passive), and Max Move Team Defense Down 2 (again, not affected) 5/5 gives Soften Up, and Venom Drench Twofer for free moves. Regular grid has Toxic Power 2 and 3, Virulent Toxin 2 and 5, Ramming Speed (???), Move Gauge Boost: Pep Rally 2 (aaah), Hit and Heal and Berserker 2 on trainer move, Potent Toxin for more Toxic damage, MAX Shielding for defense, Staggering 1, Posthaste 2, and Power Play. That last one is real nice.

Oleana is very good. Is she as good as Emma, though? In CS, I’m going to say no. It is very hard to compete with “I can perform a denial on turn 2 with hilarious consistency.” I don’t suspect Oleana will be able to do that, but who knows, maybe she will with Max Move. I think Oleana’s definitely top 2 contender for Poison damage, though. This feels well above H!Iris. And the debuffing is very nice, very efficient, and works well with some of my favorites. So I’m...admittedly very tempted here.

Variety Mallow Ugh. Variety Scouts. They’re not even Elite Four, so there goes consistency in that regard. And it’s Mallow. I’ll be honest, I don’t like Alola’s cast much, and don’t really like Mallow. To make it worse, they gave her Shiinotic. I mean...props for picking one of my least favorite Pokemon ever. At least Lurantis is still free to be on a good sync pair.

Grass support. Giga Drain, Stun Spore, X Sp Def All, trainer move is 1MP, +4 Sp Atk/+2 Crit/+1 Accuracy for the team. She debuffs attack when hitting with her Giga Drain, restores more HP when the foe is paralyzed, and has Status Immunity. Statistically, she is fine, with bulk hovering around the 300 mark. Grid gives Master Healer, MGR9 on Giga Drain, Shielded 1 on X Sp Def All, Endurance, Revenge Boost, debuffing special attack from a healing move, Pep Rally on trainer move (1MP, that’ll help), Team Sharp Entry, Stalwart, Quick Cure, Synchro Healing, and a 50/50 to heal again when hitting a paralyzed opponent.

Listen, how do you feel about Variety Agatha? That’s your litmus test for Mallow, because they’re functionally identical. Both are rapid buff bots with 1MP trainer move, both want status to heal themselves but can’t heal allies almost at all, both have some means of debuffing as desired. Personally, while I love Sp Atk/Crit buffers, I feel like Mallow kinda sucks. I say this knowing full well she’s going to be a Gauntlet solo aficionado with these tools. But I don’t like Mallow, and I hate Shiinotic, and the kit is not doing anything new. Easiest skip of my life.

Variety Kiawe Kiawe brought his dog. Apparently, following Crobat, the second Pokemon to three forms is...Arcanine. DeNA, come on.

Ember, Will-o-Wisp, Fire Spin, trainer move gives +4 Sp Atk/+2 crit and accuracy. Tech nuke is based on burn, instantly gimping his Gauntlet career. He is CS focused, and to emphasize this, he gets Extend Range to have moves apply to all foes. In addition, if the foe is burned, he debuffs special attack by 1, and if trapped, special defense by 1. ...hey yo Bede, how you doin?

Bede, laughing: “He needs two different statuses for -1?! PEASANT”

Grid debuffs attack of a burned foe, lowering speed of a trapped foe, Power Play and Interference Sync 5, MGR9 broadly for some reason, Terrify 2, Stationary Target 3, Scorcher 2 and Pokey Trap 5 for passive damage, Team Sync Regen, Propulsion 9 on trainer move.

In summation, Variety Kiawe is a statistically average Fire-type tech with slow-acting debuffs requiring two distinct forms of status condition and status change, impacting his point totals wildly in CS and having poor choices for Gauntlet as well, all while debuffing far slower than Bede. Did I miss anything? No? Garbage. NEXT!

Lodge Irida Lodge Irida comes in as a...Tech? She’s a Tech? I was fully expecting Support. Well, Fire type, so that doesn’t bode well.

Fire Fang, X Atk, Flare Blitz (oh no, it’s just like the main series), trainer move is Sp Def +1/Crit +2 and gradual healing. Sync multiplier is burn. Oh no. Standfast 9 (whew), Aggravation 2, and Hostile Environment 2. Girl, you locked your sync on a 30%, why?

Grid has First Aid 4, Aggravation 2, Double Down 3 (OH NO) and Scorching Sync 5 (OH NO), Hostile Environment 2, Superduper Effective 2, Burn Synergy 3, and a Standfast 5.

Okay. I don’t really know what I expected. But Lodge Irida’s not exactly good. High BP moves with recoil can work, we’ve seen what Lodge Gloria does, but Flare Blitz has the misfortune of positive conditions that hinder total DPS in exchange for a slight burn rate. I’m sorry, even at your best it’s a 50%, that’s not reliable. The issue with Fire Fang is that Staggering caps to 50%, but it can only activate one condition at a time, so you can’t use it for disruption and setting up her burn. In Gauntlet, Burn is bad by default, while in CS, unless I’m misremembering, the only spread Burn is from H!Morty. “And the new Kiawe!” I am not pulling for that clown.

Yeah, this is gonna be messy. Irida’s going to live and die by her DPS. Sync’s condition is too difficult to achieve, and frankly, her multipliers are pretty atrocious too for a Tech, being a measly 80% and partially locked to on-type. I’m really unimpressed.

Blue (Grid Expansion) I’m gonna be honest, Blue got basically everything he ever wanted. Ramp Up 2 on trainer move, and a full 150% sync multiplier. Granted, hit with the same Sync Power Flux bat as Caitlin, but at least it’s not a locked to on-type situation. His DPS was always respectable, albeit post-sync, so this works. If there’s any particular flaw, it’s that self-setup still requires three turns. Ethan had a lot of trouble with this, effectively needing sync to perform a denial and thus not working so well with Support EX. Blue has similar concerns, but the mega evolution made that mandatory anyway, so it’s not like he misses out on much. Without a good sense for his new damage output, I’m tentatively going to say this rules. Karen only got the Sync Power Flux, and she’s frankly insane. Then again, her DPS was directly tied to a high flinch rate, so I kinda feel like she got it a bit better than Blue just by design. But this seems wholly respectable. I don’t have Blue at EX, which is a shame because that’s really what you want here, but I imagine his fans will be pleased.

Dojo Gloria (Grid Expansion) What do you offer a sync pair that’s this powerful? Apparently miscellaneous tools. Interference Immunity and Impervious are cute but wholly unnecessary. Restoring Strike is good for solos, but CS doesn’t really help much. The big victory is the 5/5 Head Start 1. Gloria is a fast-ramp all by herself now. If you care. I don’t. 3/5 is perfectly sufficient, everything in her expanded grid is like...okay. There wasn’t much room left to improve though, if we’re being honest. Would’ve liked to see Ripple Effect 4, but it’s fine.

Clair (EX) Oh my god, thank you. I love Clair, I’m so glad she got something. Unfortunately it sucks. All of Clair’s damage is in DPS. Her only multipliers are the 100% bonus damage to her Draco Meteor for Rain and Paralysis. Her sync is borderline negligible. It doesn’t exactly help that her favorite partner, SS Kris, needs first sync for MP Burst, so she’ll rarely see use from this. It’s nice, but it’s the kind of occurrence that’s like listen, DeNA, just do a windfall of the story pairs getting EX. There’s no reason to hold off. Most of them can’t even do anything with it.

Smoke Gets In Your Eyes by Caitlin Doughty (aka Ask a Mortician on youtube), it’s pretty good.

What's your favourite movie you saw in a cinema this year?

The only movies I’ve seen so far is Puss in Boots’ sequel and it was AWESOME! I want to see it again, but the tiny theater in town only keeps a single movie playing for about two weeks (unless if it’s a Big Studio Movie where it’s in there for a fucking month like they did with Avatar and anything Marvel Studios)

Shirt, leggings or pants, and I’m usually found wearing a plaid/tartan button-up shirt of some color and kind. I don’t get to dress nice often cause I tend to spend my time at work cleaning.

Do you go by your name or a nickname?

I got by [REDACTED] and John. (I don’t like using my birth name online, because I still go by it on days when I’m not John, but this name is very uncommon so... safety reasons)

I have a lot of nicknames from family members based around my birth name, my older sister has a specific nickname for me just as she does for our younger sibling, and online some of you guys call me by my username when you don’t use John. My girlfriend has a few names for me, and is literally the only person who is allowed to call me Johnny. I LOATH being called Johnny, she has permission because she’s cute and I love her.

Did you grow up to be what you wanted to be as a child?

Kinda???

I mean, technically, I did actually work as a museum archivist for several months during and after college, and my library job was technically an archive job. But this is work that is hard to come by, and is often done by unpaid volunteers, and I’d like to be paid.

Currently I work at a job that is nothing that I’d ever want to go to school for, but the pay is good and no one bothers me. That much.

Are you in a relationship? Who is your crush if not?

Yep, I’m in a relationship with my angel, Verzi. Have been since 2016! I do have a fictional crush (Lucian) and celebrity crush (Michael Sheen. Shockingly not David Tennant, but that’s on the grounds that I want to steal David’s gender. Also, Michael’s my type)

What's something you're good at versus something you're bad at?

I think I’m pretty decent at baking and cooking, I greatly enjoy doing these activities, and I think I’m pretty good at writing when I remember to beta my work. However, I’m terrible with time management, but that’s normal for people with ADHD, especially those who are unmedicated. Oh, and I’m HORRIBLE at learning other languages, but, again, that’s related to my ADHD. I’m trying, but it’s never been easy, even from a young age when I lived in Germany.

Dogs or cats?

Both, but maybe I lean a little more on the side of cats because I have three of them

What's something you'd like to create content for?

I dunno, I make stuff for the things I really like all the time, it’s just a matter of actually doing it or not. But then again... there’s this au someone has on twitter that I really like ant for, but I have no idea how to talk to the creator about doing so (mostly it’s a language thing).

What's something you're currently obsessed with?

*gestures in the direction of Good Omens, Doctor Who, Bendy, and the GOEU*

What's something you were excited about that turned out to be disappointing this year?

Hmmmm... work stuff. I legit happy with the work schedule I had gotten, and I was actually starting to get some decent sleep cause I wasn’t always stuck to four night shifts a damn week, but then a coworker threw a fit and quit on the spot over something stupid and now we’re scrambling to figure out how to give everyone enough hours.

What's a hidden talent of yours?

When I was a kid, and my memory issues weren’t as severe as they are now (three comas and adhd will do that to a man), I used to be able to quote, word for word, whole episodes of shows I really liked. From Spongebob to YuGiOh, kids paid me to do these things at recess cause it was entertaining. I can still... sorta do this, but nothing like back in the day.

Nowadays, the only hidden talent I can think of is that I’m double jointed in my hands like my mom, unlike my dad and siblings. They can’t fuck up their fingers like we can (I can even bend my thumb behind my hand)

Are you religious?

I guess? I’m a Methodist (who doesn’t go to church) who also practices Buddhism and looks into the beliefs of Daisim.

What's something you wish to have at this moment?

For someone else to clean out my drawers and closet to get rid of old clothing I don’t want anymore, because right now I’m getting things ready for when I move out of my apartment in a few weeks.

they dont have any "names" i guess?? they go by redacted 2 , redacted & errorr// . because this is just how error// remembers it (it cant rememebr its own name / doesnt want to) , so theyre kinda stuck in some kinda purgatory . of sorts

pretty much redacted manipulates and tricks redacted 2 into helping to kill error// just becauz . they end up burrying errors body n thats that. so error is the 1st victim , but then ?? redacted 2 is dead (they die second i think??) and its framed as a suicide when in reality error somehow kills them. i havent figured it out but theyre probably some sort of paranormal creature wanting revenge bc well, theyre dead lol.

redacted ends up being killed after redacted 2 so yay! now theyre all in purgatory ! with this error forces them to relive this event but through errors own perspective ?? i havent worked out extra details but thats their backstory & stuff for now :-)

also errors family isnt the best & their sibling [redacted ??] was a bystander of this whole event

Interviewer: Charlie and Casper. How long does it take for you two to get ready? And are any of your costars jealous about how little time it takes?

Casper: *Holding in laughter*

Charlie: all I have to do is put my contacts in and I do that in the car so…..

Casper: the longest time we’ve spent in the dressing room, and with make up and stuff was for the Halloween special and the school dance… and even then it wasn’t a lot of time 15 minutes maybe😆

Interviewer: was there ever a time when the acting was improvised?

Charlie: most of my scenes with Casper were improvised but that wasn’t on purpose. It was either A One of us forgot our lines and we just rolled with it or B Yuuri gave us this thing we call a “loose script” where the script will have a few key conversation points and lore drops for us to include, but then we just improvise the rest…but aside from that there is one thing that comes to mind

Finn: Oooo The one scene that amazed everyone on set was actually improvised by Auron

He had changed his name a couple of years ago. Bucky had been gone for about six months when everything had gone down. His father breaking out of prison, the FBI not believing him when he said that he wasn’t working with him and instead did nothing as he was taken from his own home. His father forcing him to kill Dunholtz when Winn wanted to just separate himself from his father. It had all happened in a blur, the FBI barely finding his father before he had detonated the bombs.

He had left the next day, leaving Kara, James, Alex, all of them behind and instead changing his name to Owen Lucian. Winn had always been good with computers, scary good with them. Creating a new identity wasn’t hard, so when he settled into his new apartment, Winn let himself be comfortable. Working IT at a small start up company, doing community theater, and then landing a role in a new musical. Newsies was always a favorite movie of his growing up, so when he landed the role of Jack Kelly, he couldn’t say no. He didn’t care about the life that he had left behind, or that the people he had left behind could find him, this was what he had wanted to do.

Bucky had never really left his thoughts, wondering if his friend had come back home. If he was okay, or even if his best friend thought about him at all. After all, Winn hadn’t written him since he left, being so focused and driven on the fact that his life was falling to pieces in front of him and he had to pick it back up. But now, opening night on Broadway, Winn had to calm his anxiety as he read his own story in the Playbill. Or at least the redacted version that he had given them to publish. His new name in bold letters, Owen Lucian.

With his mics on, hat in his hand, he started to make his way towards backstage where they were getting ready to take a few pictures before curtain came up. Meeting with Hannah who was playing Katherine, the rest of the cast had filed in. And then he saw their photographer. He froze for a moment, as if his brain needed to reset because he couldn’t believe who was standing across the room, talking to the director.

Unable to stop himself, Winn made his way across the room. “Bucky?” He asked softly, suddenly holding onto his cap even tighter.

Does Alec or Peter have a full vampire form, like Lucian’s full lycan form? If so could we get a fix with it?

Peter doesn't in the Vampire Prince au, and [REDACTED] for More Than What You Know.

However, Alec does have a vampire form, and we saw it when he beat the spit outta that vampire in that one drabble. It's mainly just his face taking on features similar to his bat form, and with the skin of his ears and the tips of his fingers becoming rather leathery. He's also got claws and is much, much stronger like this. And very feral.

I have three asks for feral vampire Hardy, and boy howdy, are you guys gonna get a one-shot for this! :D

I was also given the suggestion that this could work with Hardy getting shot if maybe Ellie gets kidnapped. I’m watching Broadchurch while I’m working on this, so let the angst begin!

On with the fic!

Alec killing that vampire that night was bound to be found out by his allies, and that meant trouble for the detective.

So, it clearly had Alec on high alert, just days after it, Lucian had a feeling that the man hadn't slept a wink. He was on edge, looking everywhere, even in the daytime.

Then it happened, just a week after the encounter, after Lucian had seen Alec kill a vampire.

Ellie went missing, and Alec went to find her the moment he found out.

"You can't do this alone." Lucian told him, walking behind the furious man, who stormed his way out of the city. He had watched Alec drain two blood bags in order to do this, to have the strength to track down the bastards who would dare to take Ellie.

“I don’t care. Go home, Lucian.” Alec snapped, turning back to glare, his eyes already maroon.

“I’m not leaving.” Lucian glared, his own eyes changing, becoming milky blue. He watched Alec’s expression change, it always surprised him, but the serious look returned quickly. “She’s my friend as well, Alec. I want her alive, safe and sound, and back with her family, just as much as you do.”

“She’s my best friend, and it’s my fuckin’ fault she’s been kidnapped!” He could hear the distress in the vampire’s voice, the pain in his angered expression. “I killed their stupid comrade, and they decided to kidnap Ellie! I wish she had never found out the truth about me, she’s be home now, with Tom, and wee Fred.”

He was breathing hard, his hand unconsciously going to his chest, and Lucian approached. He laid his hands on Alec’s shoulders, looking up at the man. “Alec, I can’t let you go alone on this, we have no idea what we’re up against, how many we’ll have to deal with. I’ve battled a number of vampires over the many years I’ve been alive, you avoid them, you rarely get close enough to encounter them.”

Lucian sighed, shaking his head. “I want to protect you just as much as I want to protect Ellie.”

“... I got a text, from her phone.” He mumbled. “They gave me an address.”

“Then let’s get going.”

Miller was alive, oh, that was a blessing.

But they had roughed her up a bit, though it was evident that she had gotten in a few hits herself, considering how her hands looked, and the still-determined look on her face. She didn’t shout when she saw Hardy and Lucian arrive, but she gave a nod.

It was an abandoned building, left to break and rot away. It reminded Hardy of the abandoned location where Lee Ashworth had been staying, Hardy wished this situation was like that, at least he’d be dealing with an asshole human.

There were three vampires, they looked similar to the one that Hardy had killed, except for one.

She had pale, unnatural eyes, while the others looked more like stereotypical vampires. Still, it was clear she was the leader of this small group, the others were minions.

And Lucian seemed to recognize her, and she him.

“Clever to bring the dog with you.” She smiled, it made Hardy’s stomach turn. “Excellent, we can do a trade then. The lycan leader for this human.”

“Why do you want Lucian?” Hardy asked, might as well play detective while here.

“What business of it is yours?” One of the other vampires asked. “You’re not involved in this matter.”

“You made me part of it when you started murdering in my jurisdiction, when your friend threatened to kill Becca Fisher in front of me, and when you kidnapped my friend.” Hardy snarled, feeling his fangs growing, not just the ones on the upper jaw, the bottom ones felt longer too.

The leader raised an eyebrow. “You really are one of us, aren’t you?”

“I am not one of you. Never have been, never will.”

“Alec...” Lucian spoke, gripping his shoulder. “We’re here to get Ellie back.” He said, as if to remind Hardy of what he already knew.

“I know, Lucian. But I want to know why the hell they want you.”

“Did he not tell you?” The leader asked. “About his past?”

Hardy knew details, he knew enough, that Lucian was the first lycan, that he had been involved in a long war in order to free his people after his wife was murdered by her own father, her own kind.

He also knew that Lucian had been feeling guilty, blaming himself for possibly having brought the war to the county.

“I know about his past, so you must be part of his vampires then. Well, at least I know I have advantages over you, the sun isn’t exactly my enemy, for one.” Hardy snipped, flexing his fingers at his side. The anger was building more and more, the longer they stood here.

He just wanted to finish this, he just wanted to get Miller and leave with her and Lucian.

“Then you know what he’s done, and how he should have just stayed dead.” She replied, showing her own fangs to him. “I don’t see why you should even be working with him, or even standing so close. He’ll only cause your downfall.”

“If that were the case, it would have happened ages ago. Lucian is not going with you, it would be wise if you just left this place, go back to wherever you’re from, and keep your bloody war out of my town.”

The leader just stared at him, amused. That only added more fuel to the fire in Hardy’s veins.

“Oh, this can all end so easily if you just hand the wolf over. Once he’s gone, we’ll leave, no more murders, no more draining, simple as that. Your little town and county, your friend here? Safe. All we want is him.” She pointed at Lucian, whose eyes were pale, his own fangs bared, his nails like claws.

He turned to look at Hardy, frowning deeply, nervously. “It... this is my fault, Alec. I should go with them.”

“No.” Hardy said.

“No? Why not? They’ll let Ellie go, they’ll leave!”

“No.” Hardy repeated. “Because it’s a trap. It’s too easy, they’re not going to just walk away with you.”

One of the vampires made a snarling sound and grabbed at Miller, who shouted in alarm. “He’s a lot smarter than he looks.” The vampire said through ragged teeth, the face looked horrific, too many needle-like teeth, eyes nearly black...

“Let’s just end this already.” He lifted Miller, claws ready to tear at her-

And Hardy charged, slamming right into the vampire with a shout of rage.

Miller was released, tumbling, and moving to get out of the way as a frenzy occurred. Hardy didn’t pay attention to what was around him, he was already clawing at the chest of this bastard, tearing at things he didn’t want to register, until he hit something that made the vampire disintegrate under him.

There was shouting around him, and he turned, finding Lucian breaking the neck of a vampire, the body dropping with a nasty thud, before he jumped at the other one. But the leader was nowhere to be seen.

Hardy hissed, trying to listen, his ears twitching. He senses were stronger now, and the blood he drank, though not fresh, was still an added boost for him. He turned to see Miller doing her best to get out of the ropes around her torso, she was clever, she’d get it.

Lucian had just killed the vampire he had been fighting, but the leader wasn’t here.

However, Hardy could still hear her, heels clicking against old stone. He heard something, he knew that sound, he worked with people who used things that made that sound.

A gun being loaded.

He looked up, seeing a figure, the glint of something in the dark, reflecting moonlight. It was aimed at Lucian, who didn’t seem not to notice as he went to help Miller.

Either of them could be a target, but Hardy knew who that vampire was aiming for.

No.

No!

Hardy rushed, just as he heard the gun go off, and he turned to face the bullet, just a moment before it struck him right in the chest. He stumbled, the breath knocked out of him. He could hear his limited pulse in his ears, his body felt numb...

And then there was a burn, like the heat of the sun, directly in his chest.

He swore he screamed but he couldn’t hear it, all he heard was in unnaturally fast pulse.

“Alec!” Lucian gasped, seeing the man get shot, he... he took a bullet for him. Why did he do that?!

“Oh God, Hardy!” Ellie gasped, free from her binds, rushing towards her friend, but Lucian pulled her back just as a horrible scream ripped from Alec’s throat. It sounded so unnatural, and Lucian held Ellie close on instinct, to protect her, because he had no idea what the hell was going on.

He watched as Alec hunched over, gagging, blood coming from his mouth and nose as he continued to scream. Then it stopped, and he gagged, gasping, before looking around with wild eyes. Lucian swore his eyes were red, he only caught a glimpse before Alec’s attention went upwards.

He let out a hiss and charged, climbing up a wall and going through a hole in an upper floor wall, vanishing into the darkness.

Lucian could hear noises, shouts of alarm, before he covered Ellie’s ears when he heard tearing sounds. He shut his eyes, trying to ignore what he could hear, but... it was hard.

Then it was quiet, there was nothing, before he heard footsteps.

He looked up at the hole, seeing Alec there, splattered in blood, panting hard. He looked normal, no more strange, bat-like features, no more weird eyes. He looked like he always did, nearly human.

The hole in his shirt had a growing stain, blood, and he shut his eyes, falling from the hole. Lucian rushed, grabbing him as he fell, nearly dropping the now-unconscious man. His breathing was ragged, and Lucian could smell a terrible mix of blood and silver.

“Oh God, is... is Alec...?” Ellie asked from where she stood, her eyes wide and wet.

“He’s alive, but we don’t have much time.” Lucian said, his voice tight. “Ellie, we have to get a silver bullet out of him, or he might die.”
