"Yes, Sigewinne?" Wriothesley hums, not looking up from his morning paper. He holds a teacup in his other hand, the scent of freshly brewed English Breakfast filling the room.

Sigewinne is staring hard at him, head tilted as she examines the change in the Duke's wardrobe. "I can't seem to place my finger on it but your new necklace looks rather—"

Wriothesley promptly chokes on his drink, loud coughing breaking the quiet of his office as he thumps his chest, sputtering and frantically moving his paper out of the range of fire of his choking.

"—familiar."

Sigewinne hands him a handkerchief, which he takes with a wheezed word of thanks. She's squinting at him in suspicion, antennae twitching as she watches the duke squirm.

"I'm afraid I don't follow," Wriothesley coughs one last time into the handkerchief, clearing his throat in an attempt to get rid of the roughness in his voice. It doesn't work. "Perhaps you're mistaken, Sigewinne. Are you certain that you haven't just seen someone around the fortress using something similar? Or maybe you saw it in fashion on the surface."

Sigewinne is sure she hasn't. She just hums in thought, placing her hands on her hips as she continues to evaluate the necklace, while Wriothesley pointedly does not meet her gaze.

It's a simple thing, really. A silver circle on a thin silver chain, and from this distance Sigewinne can barely make out what looks like two letters and a date carved on it. It's this simplicity, actually, that makes it stand out amidst the Duke's otherwise chunky and bold accessories.

Sigewinne keeps staring, trying to remember just where oh where had she seen something like that before, and why does it nag her so much that she can't recall. Wriothesley doesn't offer up any information, however, having chosen to pour himself another cup of tea and resuming reading his paper.

Eventually, the nurse relents and turns to head down the staircase to leave his office with a word of farewell thrown over her shoulder, still bothered by the mystery that she just can't solve, but knowing what the Duke is like when he clams up.

"Oh! Hi, Sigewinne!" You greet, almost running into her as she descends, while you yourself are on your way up. You reach out a hand to steady her lest she roll down the rest of the way. "Leaving already? Everything alright?"

"Everything is fine," she says kindly, patting your arm in thanks as she looks up to your face. "Some patients to check on, but otherwise nothing particularly noteworthy. His Grace just refuses to answer any of my questions, however..."

But then her eyes catch on something shiny on your neck. Something shiny, and looking awfully like the object of her interest just a few short minutes ago. She glances at it, and as close as she is, she can make out what is carved on the pendant around your neck: A simple W and the date November 23 written underneath it.

She pauses mid-sentence, turning to glance over her shoulder.

Wriothesley is still reading his paper, but from here even she can see how he's trying to subtly glance over it in your direction. His fingers clench the sheets in anticipation and how his boot has started to tap on the floor despite his show of nonchalance. She looks at the pot of tea he had put out earlier, notices just how much tea there still seems to be in it, and the extra teacup that she had asked about earlier when she had first come in.

Just in case a guest stops by, he had told her, and nothing after that. Suddenly, she has a pretty good guess of what is written on his grace's necklace.

"Nevermind," she corrects, trying not to smile too widely. "But I certainly have to be going. Enjoy your... meeting with his grace. I'll see you later!"

You blink at her abrupt departure. "Oh? Okay. Uh... Bye, Sigewinne. See you soon!"

She nods, hurriedly excusing herself in an attempt to give you two some privacy, finally letting her happy little grin show once she was no longer in sight. She shuts the doors behind her and takes a moment, then practically skips her way back to the infirmary, her steps light and joyful.

note: AAAAA THANK YOU SO SUPER MUCH!!! i hope that i got kenma's character right because he's a bit of a challenge to write (ooc kenma scares me :p). i couldn't really get the prompt sentence /exactly/ correct, but it's the same concept. ENJOY READING!!! :D

"you want to bake what?" you ask, surprised. kenma kozume, your partner for the home economics project, wanted to bake an apple pie. in truth, you aren't very close with him, so you didn't expect him to want anything specific for the project. you always thought that he was more of a "go-with-the-flow" kind of boy.

"an apple pie," he clarifies. "if that's okay with you."

"no, no! don't worry, it's a great idea!" you reassure him with a shiny smile.

time skip.

you and kenma were walking to his place. he suggested that you both could do the baking there, and you were fine with it. you kept kicking little pebbles around while kenma had his gameboy out, having already memorized his way home.

soon enough, you both arrived at the kozume residence. the door opens, and there stands kenma's mother. she was actually quite tall with long dark brunette hair, her eyes golden and cat-like, similar to her own son. she had abundant beauty.

"well, now i know where he gets his looks from.." you thought. "hello, ma'am! my name is y/n. i'm kozume's partner for an upcoming project." you introduced yourself.

"my, my! kenma, you didn't tell me that you were inviting such a cute girl over." his mother teased. you look away out of embarrassment. too bad you didn't get to see the faint blush creeping up on kenma's ears. he grumbles something inaudible, and kenma's mother eventually lets you both inside.

you explain to her what you and kenma would be baking, and she helps bring out the needed ingredients while kenma changes upstairs.

"my name is hiromi kozume, but you, dear, can call me anything you want." she says. "o- oh, okay, ma'am!" you shyly stutter out.

suddenly, the door is kicked down. there's a familiar upperclassmen of yours, popular for his athlecism in volleyball, his intellect, and.. his looks.

"hey, auntie! i just wanted to check up on my favorite insomniac." kuroo joked, knowing how truly wretched kenma's sleeping schedule was. hiromi merely chuckles. "yes, yes. he's upstairs changing."

before kuroo advances any further, his eyes land on you. "that's odd. kenma invited a girl over?" kuroo states out loud. "i know! i was shocked, too." hiromi exclaimed in relation, "honestly speaking, i thought that my dear kenma had finally gotten himself a girlfriend."

hiromi smiles warmly. "pretty, isn't she?"

before you could even retaliate, there's shuffling heard coming down the stairs. "could you two stop being nosy, please..?" kenma asks.

"not bad, kenma." kuroo pats kenma on the back, as the younger boy huffs. what does that mean..?

time skip.

it's been a few months since that very incident. now there's a new project, and you just so happened to be kenma's partner again.

"can we go to my place this time?" you politely ask, and kenma nods. he knows that you must have felt a bit uncomfortable from kuroo and his mother's constant teasing last time. every now and then, you and kenma's hand would brush against each other, and hiromi would have to hold in her giggle behind her teacup.

the sight of the two bashful teenagers reminded her of the years in her youth. how cute!

and kuroo.. well, let's just say he got kicked out of the house early by kenma.

time skip.

"hey, mom!" you cheerfully greeted, letting yourself in the house while kenma followed shortly after. you both took off your shoes and neatly placed them on the shoe rack, switching to a pair that were fit for the interior flooring.

"hi, honey. who's this?" your mother asked.

"kenma kozume. he was my project partner last time, but we did the project as his place instead, remember?" you said, trying to help jog your mother's memory.

"oh! you mean the boy with the looks?" she remembered, at the cost of unintentionally exposing you. she took a good glance at kenma, who stood there, taken aback at her previous sentence. "you're right. he is quite handsome."

"no, mom—!" you internally panicked, your face blazing red. "you didn't have to say that out loud in front of him..!"

unfortunately, you two barely got the project done because of all the sheepish communication.

ooc: Morning! Just passing by to update and let y'all know this week is insane and I don't think I'll jump back in to rp until next week (at least), or if I do this week it'll be for a short time only. I'll prolly ask someone for a summary when I'm ready.

Having to wake up at 5am everyday is rather challenging so my rp frequency is def gonna go down in general 🥲 and I don't think I can keep up with a real-time structure to the rp anymore without continuously having the blorbos faint or something djdkdkd. Not for the next 4 months which is the duration of my internship. I definitely don't wanna leave the rp though, it's been the most fun I've had for a long while and I'm really invested! So I'll see if it's possible for me to still make some time for it as I adjust to these changes. I wanted to ask if it'd be okay with y'all to have stuff happen in a different timing - this doesn't mean y'all rp any less, but rather that if I'm gone for a week, my guys haven't been gone for as long as I have. It's ok if not, but it'd definitely save me some trouble!

But hey, I'm having fun at work so far! I'm learning quite a lot! This week has been especially busy bcs I've been out to get some clothes, meet friends I won't see as often, general adjustment to change my autism brain doesn't like, an exam today also- and another friend came to visit from another country so I'm giving her lots of my attention atm. i have been studying for my dean studies degree (rewatching spn + going down all the dean winchester meta tags like im a crazy 1800s scientist and the tags are holes marked Centre Of The Earth: This Way) and i just want to say you are absolutely correct in how you perceive dean. also i wanted to ask if you have any thoughts on deans character change post-kripke era bc i have so many thoughts but they dont arrange themselves in coherent sentence forms. im like an idea blender constantly on the highest setting and every so often they throw too much material into me and i explode chunks of thoughts in ways that do not lend themselves to interpretation under our earth standards of logic. and it looks like you have a lot of really good dean thoughts™️. anyway have a nice day

hi thanks so much for being here! i feel like i'll have much more to say about post-kripke era dean once i get there in my rewatch (which i have not been doing lately, need to get back to that!!) but i think a lot of the changes we see in dean's character post-kripke era is a combination of the fact that dean really was becoming thee central character (i know i know that's such a deangirl thing of me to say but!) of the two brothers, like post-swan song felt like sam's arc as the "main character" ended, and for seasons after most of the central plots revolved around dean (purgatory, demon dean, mark of cain, the darkness). another thing that i think contributed to the changes post-kripke era is just that there were a lot of new writers coming in. also following kripke era was gamble era and sera gamble is a known samgirl lol (and not a huge cas fan) so i feel like that also impacted some of how dean was characterized during her era. but yea i think, in general, throughout the show, we see lots writers bring their own spin on all the characters and sometimes that leads to new characterization (both good and bad) and sometimes we have to grapple with some wildly ooc or inconsistent characterization because writers will just...not do their homework lol.

these are all mostly outside explanations for dean's character changes, but once i'm farther along in my rewatch i'll def start talking abt more in-world explanations. for me a lot of it goes back to just unresolved post-hell trauma. (and continuous trauma piled on top of all that). like dean IS different when he comes back from hell. early seasons (and pre-series) dean ISN'T all that angry. he's always had to be the mediator. but then he starts getting angrier (starting with john telling him he may have to kill sam). and then he comes back from hell and he's got a lot more anger boiling under the surface. and i think hell is a HUGE thing for him that the narrative never properly addresses or lets him deal with and heal from in any significant way. and i feel like having to bury that trauma so he can deal with the next big bad or apocalypse definitely has some effect of him.

anyways, i'm rambling now but thanks for the message, sorry it took me a few days to get to it!

Honestly, Nancy could have been a great character, but the show tries so hard to brand her as this sweet, perfect girl that all the shitty things she does get overlooked. It's like other characters, especially those who were wronged by her, aren't allowed to be pissed at Nancy. Robin wouldn't have been so nice to Steve if he had given her the energy Nancy did. And yet throughout s4, Robin wanted her approval, which was so ooc based on what we know about her in s3. Or Steve being so in love with her even though she cheated on him, which is such a sore point for him. It made him look so pathetic in s4. He deserves better than that. All the people who ship stancy only ship it because Nancy deserves Steve's love over Jonathan. They never ask if Nancy is right for Steve. He wants someone who loves him with all their being, which isn't Nancy. He was always her second choice. The fact that he might never know Nancy cheated on him makes me sick because he deserves to know, so he can move on and see it's not entirely his fault for fucking up. The show made such a huge deal of cheating, and Steve, it's the only real knowledge we have from his family life, yet he isn't allowed to react to it. They put him through it in s1 as a joke where he absolutely lashed out and got reprimanded. And then seriously in s2, where he just had to roll over as a sign for change, though he should have been hurt and pissed.

The show refusing to let Nancy learn from mistakes is what's killing the character. But you also have to ask if it's truly the shows fault or is it Nancy's character at this point because we see a pattern, and people like her really exist. She's so stagnant, she's still the same character she was in s2 with more gun experience.

Sorry for this, but I'm also so frustrated by her and the rise of stancy shippers. (If she gets with Steve without any reflection, I'll throw up. Or worse, Steve is dying for her or Jonathan as an act of "true love." I need to get him out of that awful show)

Yes to your points— but BOY am I holding out hope that 9-1-1 Lone Star navigates with good writing because things always change with that show. And with the rewatch of season 4 still going, here’s my headcanons for both shows (one for the mother show, one for Lone Star).

Instead of a full-on crossover episode, maybe there will be hints that the shows still share a timeline and universe. Mayhaps that drug cartel Bobby, Amir and Athena ran afoul of was also a cartel group (or knows of another rival group) that Gabriel Reyes has/ had history with. And/ or, if the Diazes make cameos in Austin during one of the 126’s emergencies.

Anyway, my headcanons are only a few sentences long, but for 9-1-1:

The Wilson-Buckley-Hans will def need to play their cards smart and/ or lay low around Bitchy Councilwoman Ortiz with getting an adoption status renewed. Hen may or may not have a group session with the characters/ families of characters she’d saved (much like Maddie did) and they team up to bolster the Wilsons’ adoption appeal to Ortiz and CPS.

Gerrard either goes out pathetically or “heroically” (like, a “morally right” rescue for the wrong reason) saving an MC’s life (Buck, Bobby, Tommy, Chimney or Hen). Like, he tells them something like “Hasta la vista you plebes, oh and btw you’re welcome” but their bad opinion of him doesn’t change.

Ravi FINALLY gets a “begins” episode or at least a bit more character exploration.

Every MC affected by the events of season 7 get moments with Frank because they are in dire need of real emotional help for their re-triggered traumas (Bobby, Eddie, I’m looking at you two) outside of each other.

Tommy (Kinard) and Buck have many heart-to-hearts before they decide on getting married or anything. (Because it’s very possible the writers will make this a speed run of Tarlos’ story arc.)

For Lone Star:

Regarding why Grace is absent, which is the main one I’m holding out hope for: it’d be devastating if she’d died, OOC if she and Judd divorced/ broke up. Considering that Grace’s father has bad cardiac health (which, spoiler alert, he has had 2 in-universe with #2 in “Open” being the most recent and critical), we would hear that him having another one would definitely kill him. So when Grace hears that her father just went through heart attack #3 or another health condition that worsens his heart enough that that he gets only weeks left to live, she would be gutted about leaving Judd to care for Wyatt and Charlie alone. But Judd, even with his misgivings— hell, he’d rather carry the weight all by himself than keep his wife from her family while they’re suffering through losing their patriarch. So, he lets her take the leave, probably with “Grace— no matter how tired I’ll get, how much I’mma miss you, don’t you ever blame yourself for needing to be with your mama and sisters. Keep me posted on your daddy and them, take all the time you need— we’ll be here, my heart.” There you go. No breakup needed, and no need for Grace to be killed. And it leaves room for Sierra to come back on the show in the event that the show is greenlit for season 6 and she can get a better contract on the show with Fox.

If Enzo somehow put off Gwyn’s funeral for close on 2 years (minus the burial which already happened in season 3 I presume), and that coincides with Carlos having gotten closure, TK gets to have a private mourning service for both her and Robert. Or we get a flashback episode that features scenes with him as a troubled teen and how things were with him and Enzo (like, this is before/ during his drug use).

Judging by the bts bits, it looks like Carlos may stay in law enforcement and likely choose to transfer from APD to the Rangers. I think this has to be Carlos’ own decision, though, not just an honoring— that “killing parts of himself” quote already sounds foreboding even if there’s a chance it’s hyperbole. Most of what I have to say about Tarlos this season were things already voiced by tumblr friends, so there’s not much besides these two hcs about their arcs this coming season. I just PRAY they get a real reprieve!

Bro i am literally so excited for 911 season 8😭😭 i just wanna see how Buck and Tommy’s relationship will go, i wanna see how the 118 deals with Gerrard as their new captain, i wanna see how Bobby gets his spot back at the 118 as captain (cus we all know damn well Gerrard is NOT staying for long). I want to see what happens with Eddie and Chris and whatever they got going on, I just cannot WAIT!!! This fall needs to hurry up NOW.

I’m also excited to see 911 LS season 5 because Grace isn’t gonna be there, so i wonder how Judd is going to act throughout the season, especially with the baby, i want to see Carlos and TK’s marriage progress, and i want to see Carlos grow closer with his mom, following his dads death, and much more.

Apart from the 911 series, SWAT season 8 is also coming out this fall and i’m excited for that too. Chris, Street, and Luca all left, so i would like to see how the rest of the team deals with it. I’ve only gotten to season 5 so far, but I’ll be done before this fall, trust!😭

"I know, that's why you're beautiful."

Her brow furrowed as she squinted her eyes at you, seemingly looking for some sort of answer in the details of your face. When she couldn't find one, she let out a sigh. "I'm sure I'm going to regret asking this question, but why do you think that?"

"Because-" you finished your drink, " -because you always look beautiful. And its not just your face and your hair and your cute little headband crown thingy," you gestured to the broken horn on her head. "Its also like, your personality, y'know?"

She laughed at your drunk shenanigans. "My personality? Boy, you really are drunk."

You looked at her in confusion before continuing. "Yeah, like, how straightforward you are about everything. Like just now, you weren't afraid to tell me what you were thinking. Also you're a pretty kickass fighter. I like that about you. I like you in general, even if you aren't always nice to me."

She took a moment to process your drunken love confession before speaking quietly. "Then you're the first, because I don't think anyone has liked anything about me in a long time." She looked away, her mind swarming with unpleasant memories and thoughts.

"Hey, Sylvie. Hey." You waved your hand in front of her face, trying to get her attention. "Don't have a sad face, because then I'll have a sad face. Go back to having a mad face instead, like you normally do."

She let out a low chuckle. "Like I normally do?"

"Yeah, you always look really pissed off for some reason, like you're angry at something."

"I guess I do, don't I?"

The two of you sat in silence for a moment before she spoke again. "Do you really like me?"

"Of course I do." You reach your hand out to gently touch her face, and this time she didn't slap it away. "Do you like me back?"

"I do," she answered automatically, surprising herself.

You look pretty shocked as well, almost falling out of your chair in disbelief. "Really? You do?"

"I- yes, I do. Just try not to make a big deal out of this, okay? We're trying not to draw attention to ourselves."

"Don't worry, I remember." You playfully rolled your eyes at her. "Does that mean we're dating now?"

To lifeiscooking I would say macaque can be seen as OOC in sunbreak sometimes but honestly I see it as a result of change in circumstances.
