★ i'm a huge animation nerd!! i especially love walt disney animation and pixar films. some of my favorites include beauty and the beast, tangled, frozen, toy story 1-3, onward, and coco. i love all kinds of other animated films too but you can expect to see lots of disney/pixar stuff in general on here as it's basically my longest lasting special interest.

★ i am also deeply in love with kingdom hearts and it's one of the things you can expect to see a lot of posts about. riku is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time and sorikai means the world to me.

★ if you couldn't guess by my url i'm also brainrotting hard over twisted wonderland lately and will likely continue doing so for the foreseeable future. i have soooo much love for so many of the characters i literally can't even pick a favorite dorm. but riddle and idia are practically tied for the spot of my fave character and i ship riddle/floyd and idia/vil very hard.

★ i am very into pokemon but especially the hoenn, unova, alola, and paldea regions and the pokemon mystery dungeon series. love pokemon adventures/pokespe as well.

★ also majorly obsessed with baldur's gate 3 at the moment. especially gale. and elenion, my silly little half-elf bard guy that i romanced gale with 💜 and i don't see this changing anytime soon either.

★ so the above things are kinda the main fandoms you'll see on here but my brain is also constantly hopping between other interests and getting me in the mood to reblog and talk about different things!! some of those other things can include uhhhh the PJO universe, utdr, a3! act addict actors, twewy, the original sherlock holmes stories + granada TV series, LOTR, ace attorney, avatar the last airbender, neopets, and also just. so many other things. unfortunately i shove 90% of what i like onto here instead of having sideblogs for the most part.

how did you do the wooma art study? whats ur sketch process? im trying to learn how to do art studies next year and urs was rlly rlly rlly good so i wanna know ur process...

Ok ok tho like I literally haven't been near the front for like a month or so cause our systems been working on other things and me and the trauma parts related to our trauma tend to 'pause' when were not being actively set off or when we don't have mental capacity to deal with our Stuff but I like popped up like an excited little mole rat cause y e s (and this is not a problem or me being mad, very thankful if anything cause this shit is one of my few dopamine topics and i usually only front for negative shit so WIN)

But thank you on the compliment ^^ I'm the Wooma kiddo in the system cause Wooma's art gives me dopamine and comfort and I just really like it so it means a lot that you liked it.

Our system parts that do art actually have very different processes, but the only parts that do proper studies are Riku and I and even in that we have different approaches so they'll probably reblog and add on their process as well BUT AS FOR ME

A lot of art studies (the Wooma one included) starts with a lot of just looking at the art and multiple examples of it to find some tendencies and similarities. You can do this physically by like drawing notes over some of the art that they've done or just mentally take notes as you look through it. A really good thing Riku and I would talk about when they were helping me figure it out when I doubted art as a hobby was that its really important while doing this to make take note on the things you ESPECIALLY like and find really cool about it because those notes should be mentally starred as inspiration for how you might like to modify your own personal art style

But like a good place to start is to google the style you like or look through their media / portfolio and just spend a good time browsing it and interacting with the source art itself and try to pick apart the question of "How do they do this" which we tend to look at line thickness / quality / brush type, proportions, major shapes and how they represent things (eyes, noses, facial expressions and the individual ratios of them), etc.

I usually don't actually draw over / draw notes directly over since I just like to browse and take mental notes and reference as I go but for the point of this ask Ill do a bit of an example pulled from Wooma's Instagram (I got lazy since I don't usually actually physically do much of this type of studying and got bored)

So

Collect a number of references, I just pulled from instagram thumbnails; then pull out thing that seem unique / stand out to the style to look more closely at

2) Lower the opacity and try to draw over the general base structural shapes and take notes on how things work together and the "steps" done to draw the basic structures

3) Doing the above gives you a general idea on the "rules" that are principle to under lying a style. Cool thing is to then make the layer below invisible so all you have are your notes and you have some general good guide lines to reference for later

Then after you did that you can try to do an emulation / try to do and study a specific one you like so like I did a few but one I think I still remember the specific image I studied from was this one [link]

And from here you just kinda plug the art that you are directly trying to emulate and breakdown free hand to the side / corner to regularly look at and reference how the original artist handled doing one thing and decide how you want to apply that to your own

Follow the notes and "rules" you found below and do it as well

Another note I like to add though is that you should never be afraid to go "I like that but I prefer to do it this way / apply my usual style" cause Wooma tends to use a more pencily thin solid / cleaner line but I just like the brush I used, I like the sketchy messiness and I also like coloring in the way i did which is not Wooma style, but just how I like to do things. The eyes are inspired and studied from wooma particular in size and general shape, but I prefered the more fluid and less clearly parallelogram shape and did that as well + my way of handling hair is not studied off of Wooma but rather inspired by the over exaggerated angular style / expressiveness of Wooma's overall art

They actually tend to do hair a lot more in a - for lack of better words - normal anime style but I was like noooo i like the angularness and "dramatized stylized" proportions and shapes so I was like ok im applying that to the hair even if you dont

Like I really like Wooma's art cause of how expressive it is due to how it breaks a lot of typical proportion rules and uses very sharp and dramatic shapes as a foundation sooo

Oh and regarding sketching, I don't sketch I just immediately draw and start with the foundation shapes and just add it directly over. I might erase a few lines that go over but I dont really have a sketching layer. Sketching would be a thing Riku or rather XIV would probably know how to explain better cause I just don't.

But ANYwAyS we have a movie to watch with fam and all soooooooo Ill have to give up the front but THANK you for the prompt to GO OFF cause it was nice to be back after a month or so to do something so fun and just info dump and sdlafkjlda

Materfred - important and vital. Ship between Manfred von karma from ace attorney and mater from cars. I wrote several fics. I reskinned the entirety of my immortal for them. I made a carrd for them (materfred.carrd.co). They are somewhat known because my tags abt them on a post got screenshotted and then the OP of that post blocked me (entirely fair it was a plague upon their notes)

The metis cykes obsession - metis cykes is a minor character in the fifth ace attorney game who has been dead for 7 years by the time the story starts and she has no dialogue. There are seven pictures of her in existence and two of those are of her corpse. I loved her I LOOOOVED her it was like spiritual, I've kinned for fun on and off but I was LITERALLY her IRL for like 6 months. To this day my feelings on aurametis are staunch like stone

The lamp blog - I used to have a huuuge hateboner for clay terran as a symbol of fandom latching onto background men instead of woman characters, and, spurred on by my friend group at the time, I made a blog called yourfavehasfewerficsthanthislamp where I just compared the number of fics XYZ character had next to the number of fics terran had. It was an obsessive hate-cycle which did nothing to actually uplift female characters and the methodology was intensely flawed (shoutout to the 'neopets has fewer fics than terran' submission - I mean, yeah, but I feel like you can't use that to say he is more popular than fuckin neopets. Or that neopets is a poor neglected soul that needs more fanfiction written about it) but hey at least I got reposted to Twitter

Earlier, I made an untagged post on my main about Noah's character after chapter 5 and the beginning of 6, and was surprised it got a few likes and reblogs from people who don't follow me. If there's actually demand for Noah character analysis I can do much better, so here's a longer analysis of Noah's story up to the beginning of chapter 6!

Spoilers below the cut, obviously. Also, please note that I haven't played much more than the beginning of chapter 6, so please no spoilers for the rest of the game!

In my original post, I said that Noah has the potential to be a selfish person. Here I'll take it one step further and say that Noah is a selfish person, it's literally his fatal flaw in N's case. He would rather give in and stop fighting for a better world to accept the world as it is if he can live a comfortable life with M, even if it means hurting other people and M herself. This is what Z calls the endless now.

Like N, Noah hates to fight, it's his natural instinct to avoid fighting, to surrender to the path of least resistance. The first time you really see this flaw is during the flashback where he got lucky seven from Riku. Noah lies to others about not being able to summon his weapons to avoid fighting. Riku calls Noah out by accusing him of wanting his friends to die, the natural outcome of rolling over and accepting what's coming at them rather than fighting back. Even after Riku gives Noah lucky seven, he still refuses to draw it in battle, he's letting it sit in its scabbard, not fighting with the full extent of his power.

The first time Noah uses lucky seven, to cut colony 4's flame clock, is a deeply significant moment for Noah's character. It represents the first time Noah's truly chosen to fight back. I don't think it's a coincidence that Noah uses it to destroy the flame clocks. Clocks display the present, the now, by destroying one with lucky seven Noah is metaphorically cleaving through the endless now, choosing to fight over rolling over and accepting Moebius's present.

Even after this moment, and after Noah starts to use lucky seven to cut through other colonies flame clocks, he's not really giving it his all. If he uses lucky seven, it's just briefly pulling it from its scabbard for an attack or to slice a clock. It's an improvement over not using it at all, but it shows that Noah is still holding back.

Another aspect of Noah's character that indicates his selfish nature is his relationship with death. Noah says that the reason he became an offseer was because he had to know the meaning of the smile he had seen on multiple people as they died. Noah thinks it's a smile of pity, because they get to move on, to leave behind the violence and chaos of the world and stop fighting, while he and everyone else are left behind living. Noah's desire to not have to fight anymore is so strong that he can't help but project it onto Crys, onto Joran, completely missing the real point of their smiles.

Both of these negative traits of Noah's born from his selfish desire to take an easy way out of fighting come to a head at castle Agnus. Noah makes the choice to fight and entrust the future to the ouroboros candidates if they don't make it, a decision that really shows his growth up to that point, but he still won't give it his all. He still won't wield lucky seven to its fullest potential, he still holds back in battle. And for that, he loses to N. The party are imprisoned, can no longer summon their blades, and Noah tries with all his physical strength to break out of the prison. But he doesn't once try to call on lucky seven, something Riku points out on the day of the execution. Noah's lack of conviction to fight, his refusal to truly give his all, is what results in Mio's (or rather, M's) death.

Only after her death and smile does Noah realize what the smile really meant. He finally realizes that it's not pity, it's them pinning their hopes, their dreams for the future on him. In this moment, Noah is once again offered the choice, to give into the endless now, as he's been doing on some level the entire story, or to draw his blade and fight. And, for the first time in the game Noah chooses with all his conviction to fight. He quite literally draws his blade and uses it to cut a better future instead of the endless now.

Noah is the last main party member to truly find their conviction, the entire story up to this point has focused on the rest of the party finding their own reasons to fight. But when he does, it allows him to become far greater than N. For the first time Noah is fighting with all his strength for a world better than the endless now that has tempted him for so long.

all my life i always wanted to be a ballerina… i got enrolled in ballet class, stuck around for a lil’ while and literally after 7 years of ballet i discovered figure skating was real, i wanted to try it but i was ‘too old’ to skate. usually skaters start at the age of 5 or older 0o0 wish i had the chance instead of ballet!

“W-Watanabe-chan, do be careful with the door!” Hikari Yamada yelps as Michiko stumbles in, barely adjusting the ribbons on her uniform,”Why are you shouting all of a sudden?!”

“I need something sweet.” was the response,”I know we have those cute cupcakes with the faces! Can I take some, please? You can even take out a bit from my paycheck!”

“Slow down, slow down!” Hikari grabs a hold of her hands,”First off, take a deep breath and calm down.”

A beat of silence, but she complies, taking a deep breath and exhaling, feeling her shoulders relax.

“Good.” They sigh,”Second, kindly explain why you suddenly took an interest in the cupcakes?”

“...” they see her face flush and mumble,”...Its my teacher’s birthday... I wanted to bring cupcakes for my class... p...please don’t be mad...”

...

Hikari couldn’t help but burst out into laughter at that, to Michiko’s confusion and fluster. The older man slapped their knee and kept on laughing for a solid minute until he was wheezing and on his knees. The woman was less than amused.

“Yamada-san, this is serious!”

“I know!” They straighten up, laughing still,”Its just... oh Michichi... do you really think I’d be mad?”

“...yes?”

He laughed even more for a bit before finally relaxing,”Michichi... oh sweetheart... I’d never be mad at something so sweet...! Of course you can make cupcakes for your class!”

Michiko’s face lit up,”Really?!”

“Of course!” Hikari grins,”Free of charge! Just ah... don’t tell Yuna and Riku...”

She races over, hugging the larger man in glee,”YES! Thank you thank you SO MUCH!”

“Okay okay! Don’t thank me like this.” They grin, giving her head a pat,”Thank me with how you’re making these cupcakes!”

“Alright! By the way, do you have any motor oil at the moment?”

“...excuse me?”

Four boxes of six and three individuals. Michiko hummed cheerily as she carried them to the class, setting them on her desk and waited for their teacher to come in. It’s admittedly kind of nerve-wrecking. What if someone didn’t like their cupcake? What if she got the flavors wrong? She really hoped she didn’t flub some perfectly good cupcakes, especially the one for Manami (the trial and error on that one!).

“Watanabe.”

“Mm! Yes, Sensei?”

“Mind...” Sato looked at the boxes with a raised eyebrow,”What’s all this?”

“Oh! Well...” Michiko stood up, before setting the boxes all up and opening to revealed the contents. Each cupcake was tailored in flavor from base to topping to fit the recipient and they have little details that indicated who got what.

“Since I heard it’s your birthday...” She holds out the box containing the cupcake meant for her teacher,”I thought I’d make some cupcakes for you and for everyone, courtesy of Ambrosia Cafe!” She grins,”Happy Birthday, Osamu-sensei!”

I CANT DRAW OR FIND A PICREW SO UNFORTUNATELY YOU’LL HAVE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE CUPCAKES LOOK LIKE YOURSELVES (SORRY >.<) BUT I CAN GIVE LITTLE DETAILS:

-Manami’s is oil and orange flavored!

-Jetsam’s is all cute and pastel because she remembered how cute his shoes were when she first saw him.

-The 26th cupcake isn’t for her, it’s actually for Toshinori! She didn’t make a cupcake for herself...

-has bags under her eyes, yea she literally spent all night making these cupcakes (ofc she had help but still)

-There is at least one gumball in Jiro’s for the joke

KINGDOM HEARTS 4 LET'S GOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was pretty sure this was gonna be the announcement with all the hints but I'm still finding it hard to believe. Like I just woke up but it's early here so I was going to go back to sleep for a few hours but then I was like "oh yeah! KH 20th event finished, gotta check the news while I'm up." And now I'm wide awake with my jaw dropped. I truly feel like I'm in a dream or an alt reality or something holy crap!

I probably will go back to sleep so I'll reblog a bunch of stuff later, but I wanted to write down my first reactions. Shocked aside, I'm immensely excited (obviously!) And I'm smiling like an idiot. I love this series so much ❤️

Sora looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL 😍 The CGI looks sooo good ✨ Like wow! Baby boy I love you and I've missed you and I'm ready to bring you back home.

The only thing though is that I really don't like his hair. Like the hair itself is totally fine, but it doesn't really feel Sora-esque :/ It's not spikey enough and if you removed the little flips on the sides it'd be resemblant of Riku/Yozora/Noctis. Like everyone is just starting to look the same... Idk I'm sure it will grow on me (I didn't like his KH3 hair as much at first either) but that's how I feel at this point.

Also his clothes. He looks great and I love them (like who doesn't love that super groupies look), but they are a bit boring compared to past games. Like I get it, it fits better with the modern-esque Quadratum but hmmm. Wonder if that'll be his outfit for the whole game or just the Quadratum part.

I'm really worried it will be for PS5 only. Me buying a console specifically to play KH is nothing new, but I absolutely do not have the money to get one right now. 🙏 Please please please be a PS4/PS5 deal 🙏

Omori means a lot to me, especially the protagonist, Sunny. I am resident big name Flowey fan, so you’re right. Big name because there are 5 of us and we all know each other and are mutuals. Thank you for complimenting the ffc url too. I’m still really proud of it (not as proud of current one because... i don’t think anything can top just having a character name as a url. dghdgh) it’s a shame I don’t have a sideblog to use it on. I hope my art blog being @friskriel is redemption enough. I never noticed I tend to almost exclusively reblog before I like but now that I noticed it it is true lmao. I got into kh very recently through a good friend of mine, who’s into it and kindly helps me with getting into the games and sending me spoiler free posts as I go through them - so my posts may not be entirely indicative of the characters I love yet, though they partially are because I request posts with specific characters.  my kh blorbos so far are: xion, riku, roxas, and axel (I just finished bbs, for context, so this list might get additions later. I also like sora and aqua a lot, but I wouldn’t call them blorbos. Those 4 full on make me unwell. My favorite kh game is Days and I cried for hours after finishing it.)

Season 4 boutta be Infinity Train’s final season and I bet you anything its because the two guys kiss at the end of it and CN get scared just like they did when Rebecca wanted a Lesbian Wedding and fought them tooth and nail for it so they gave it to her but cancelled the original run of the show :|

My last art commission for this bunch and probably my favorite from this round! This one’s for boxvoxx from my Discord, who wanted a KH/Owl House sketch dump, so of course I was more than happy to oblige! So let’s run through these real quick. 

First off we got a standard Sora-esque design for Luz, complete with her Keyblade, the Portal Key! We also have Timeless River and Halloween Town designs for her (she’s a WareWitch in Halloween Town bc I couldn’t decide which one to make her ahaha). After that we got a lovely Eda design, with her Keyblade, Owl’s Wrath. Then we finish things off with a GayBlade for Luz and Amity, like that combined Keyblade Sora and Riku can use in DDD. Fun fact bout this one, Amity’s half is the lesiban flag colors, Luz’s half is the bi flag colors! 

Anyway this one was fun. Have a bonus Hunternort that wasn’t part of the comm, but that I had to draw because the thought literally would not leave my stupid skull:

Wait...does Sora still have his Gummiphone when he leaves in KH 3???

If he does, imagine when Riku misses him most, he texts Sora and says that he misses him and Sora texts back, “I miss you too :(,” but doesn’t realize how much Riku really misses him. Like he misses him so much it hurts him. He finally got him back and they never even got a moment to rest and just be with each other. He loves him and misses him. He loves his new friends and everyone else but he misses his best friends. Especially, his dearly beloved.

And imagine Sora missing him so much but afraid to show how much he misses him. Like just holding back a little bit when he texts him just because he doesn’t know if Riku has the same feelings. AND THEN IMAGINE THEM CALLING EACH OTHER. THEYRE BOTH SO GIDDY AND JUST BLUSH BECAUSE THEY GET TO SEE EACH OTHER.

Riku takes his turn telling him about what’s going on there and telling him how he’s training and everything. And imagine him just being so excited to hear how Soras been and if he’s okay. And he asks about Kairi too because they’re best friends too. He gets sad that she isn’t found yet, but hearing how excited Sora has been and hearing all about what he’s done, makes Riku so happy and just almost cry. He sits there, listening to Sora gush about everything, and listens with a big smile on his face and he realizes how much he loves Sora.

How much he needs him to live, how much he misses him, and just how much he loves him. And Sora begins to realize the same thing. As soon as they hang up, Sora isn’t as joyful or as happy as he usually is. He’s happy when he meets new people, but there’s less of a shine on his face. There was so much joy and happiness when he was with Donald and Goofy trying to find Riku and everyone. But now...he’s by himself and has no joy unless he calls everyone. He makes new friends but he knows that no one can replace Riku and his other friends. Especially, Riku.

He realizes that this feeling deep down inside of him...is love. True love. He loves Riku more than friends and wants to find Kairi and get home with him. He’s grown and realized that he doesn’t love Kairi like he thought...his light is Riku. And he loves him. And if he died in KH 3 ending, it’s obvious he isn’t gone for good. He will come back and he will tell Riku how much he means to him. If he doesn’t then I’ll literally LOSE MY MARBLES AND CRY. Like just let them be gay and happy...please.

Plus, they’ve lost their childhood innocence bc I mean...they’re literally 15. Like WHAT??? They deserve to be happy so just let them BE.

Dude Psychiatry Intake Assessments are so fucking hard with DID on the account they aren’t made to take dissociation and severe memory and emotional issues into play.

“When did your mental health issues start?”

*doesn’t remember before 13 years old*

“So do you remember what that was like? What brought you into?”

*doesn’t remember and has to try to piece together vague information*

“So what are an example of this experience?”

*can’t remember anything immediately in the last 3 days*

“Oh yeah that haha those days. Yeah when I was like 11 this bad shit happened and then when I was 12 that bad shit happened and before the age of 12 like who knows what happened but AFTER 13 ho boy there was a lot XD Man my life sure is crazy and I sure don’t sound extremely detatched”

“What would you consider your gender identity?”

“uhhhhhhh.... unsure?”

“So how much distress has this been causing you?”

It just gets you sitting there feeling like the psychiatrist thinks you are faking it or dramatic because you don’t remember shit and don’t sound serious XD

Man though, I still hate psychiatry cause it stresses me out to try to recall all this information when I hardly remember three days ago :v

I’m just glad they are gonna contact my therapist because god do I not know how to report my mental health properly in a clinical setting due to memory issues and detatchment issues XD

Feel free to reblog if you got any similar frustrating situations but honestly I was just like “Can we stop filling out the confusing forums and just get out a DES to go through since at least I can say ‘yeah I literally can’t remember anything’” :v

Also I’m not saying “Just get out a DES and diagnose me with DID” cause I already am :v 

It’s just things like the OCD-screening which I’ve been diagnosed with regularly has me going “Well I don’t immediatley remember anything so I don’t have an issue and am faking OCD and my psychiatrist should tell me” and having a DES Screening would be nice cause I can be like “Yeah my memory issues cause clinical distress such as right now when I can’t answer most of the questionaires properly”

I normally don’t pay that much attention to the follower count but considering my blogs barely ever get this high, let alone an OC blog, it’s really special to me. I’m constantly just in awe of how much people seem to like Atlas. I’m still reeling a bit tbh!!

I actually used to draw KH characters a lot (mostly Sora, Riku, Aqua, Roxas and Naminè 😂) but then the fire nation that is V3 attacked. I still draw them but not as often as I used to, and a thing that happens every time I try to draw them is that the DR style kinda slips through? I got a comment on KHA asking me if my style was influenced by DR and I personally don’t see it XD and then one said that I made Riku look like Nagito Komaeda with a Noctis hairstyle 😂😂😂 but hey your ask reassured me that maybe I’m getting better, I’m glad you like how they turn out ;;
