>> 🔴 Broadcasting live from Wonderland!

The stream is finally up, crystal clear and high quality.

We see the parade route, a long and straight rode paved in a brilliant red and black mosaic depicting roses and thorns twisting their way along the street.

On either side is a tide of people, dressed in their best, waving homemade flags and signs with Jack's face on them.

Floating screens hang above the road, giving folks in the cheap seats a better view of the goings on.

The energy is palpable.

Electric.

Excited.

And then... a hush, as if some unseen figure has held a finger to their lips.

Feet stomping rhythmically as music slowly swells

"Ooh-whoa-ooh!"

From the crowd, a girl hurdles the barrier with ease, her long blonde twin tails flowing after her like a flags.

"Ooh-whoa-ooh!"

Her skirt is a giant upturned pink rose, there is mischief in her single blue. She produces a whistle from somewhere in her unremarkable cleavage and blows 3 clear notes.

"Ladies and gents this is the moment you've waited for..."

Dodo birds flock to her from seemingly nowhere, dressed in little waistcoats, dresses and spats. They coo obediently, and trail after the girl in V formation.

"You've been searching in the dark, your sweat soaking through the floor..."

The girl twirls eager cartwheels, her feathered entourage waddling and swaying to the music.

Behind them, marching neatly is an army of skeletons. Their bones painted gold, roses crawling through their ribcages, rubies glittering in their eye sockets.

Two skeletons bring up the rear, leading a great beast but golden chains.

Something like a cheetah with a rabbit's head, and a buck's antlers.

The beast hisses and roars at the crowd, but seems perfectly at ease otherwise. It's long jerboa like tail held high and proud.

The Greatest Showman keeps playing as the biggest hyena you've ever seen lopes along, blue eyes gleaming with pride, her pelt bleach white and spotted with chemical burns. A dryad sits on her back, ivy leaves fluttering in her hair, she waves a hand and two massive thorny vines burst from the soil on either side of the street, coiling together high over the road and blooming into an arch of black roses with eyes rolling in their middles.

The crowd screams in awe and delight as petals rain down on them.

The thump of heavy paws replaced by the clattering of porcelain as dozens of teapots of every shape and size scamper along the route on little porcelain paws, or chicken legs, or insectile limbs.

They honk, whistle and toot like a troupe of clowns, spraying the crowd and each other with showers of confetti from their spouts.

And then... the ground begins the shake as the biggest teapot anyone has ever seen wanders behind it's much tinier brethren.

Easily the size of an elephant, it's ceramic hide painted red and gold, its thick legs taking careful steps.

It pauses for just a moment and produces a geyser of confetti and flower petals from its titanic snoot.

Behind this beast is another monstrosity of metal and machinery chugging along on steel spider legs, music blares from the speakers that make up the majority of its body. At its apex is a certain dancing demon, his usual black and white color palette broken up by his red shutter shades and the rose pinned to his lapel.

Bendy is in charge of spinning the tunes for the entire parade, and is doing a damn good job of it, only pausing to floss and dab much to the elation of the onlookers.

His grin is genuine, happy, and magnificent as he waves at the crowd and blows kisses to the kids.

The smell of smoke, sweet and seductive, follows behind Bendy's DJ float. The music changes from bouncy pop, to old school circus music played on actual instruments by giant bugs with literal fire in their eyes. Smoke leaking from the corners of their grinning jaws like demons dragged up from hell.

An anthropomorphic ant rides on the back of a giant stag beetle, a ladybug with eyes for spots juggles flaming knives.

A pair of centipedes dressed like mimes turn themselves into hurdles and hoops for the others to leap over and through.

Arachnid beasts that defy description and logic chitter and growl as they drag a float behind them on sturdy chains.

The float itself is a flying trapeze! With performers doing death defying stunts without the aid of wings or a net.

Something grub-like and smiling wears a half mask, like the phantom of the opera, and tosses toys at children from her place high on the float.

And now, that hush falls again.

The anticipation so thick you can cut it with a knife.

At the very back of the parade, bringing up the rear, is a giant black rose being pulled along by a team of white unicorns with their hooves and horns painted gold. Each animal is firmly muzzled and wearing a ruby studded golden collar in addition to their tack.

The rose blooms, and there is Jack, standing tall. He waves at the crowd as they cheer for him and call out his name.

He blows kisses to them and the cameras.

He's crying, fat blue tears rolling down his cheeks. And yet his makeup refuses to budge.

The parade continues on it's way towards wonderland castle, hurry now.

The ceremony is about to begin.

Wow! not the thing I expected today, especially one a year old post, but okay.

First:

No matter what a persons opinion is on a character or show, you should never wish death on a person or tell them to kill themselves. at the end of the day theses are fictional characters that don’t exist and their value is far less important the life of a real human being. just because you can’t see the person behind the post doesn’t mean they aren’t a living person with feelings. you never know what a person is dealing with.

Second:

Yeah I don’t like Mabel and why I don’t like Mabel, is because she is a flawed character. Now I’m not saying dipper is better or worse, but mabel is not a good person. which is what the unicorn told mabel. and that was correct. Mabel isn’t a good person. She is selfish, insecure and forces her will on others many times throughout the story.

I recommend watching the following two videos because the author of the videos says it much better that i could.

In this first video He explains why he feels that Mabel is a bad person. He makes a lot of good arguments but he also makes some bad arguments.

Here he addresses those bad arguments, whether they affect his over all argument of the first video, I.e. that Mabel is a bad person, and then also addresses a apology that Mabel makes to Dipper in the comics and addresses whether or not that apology makes up for all the shit things, even counts because its not part of the shows canon, and if its just the writers trying to cover their ass.

Third,

I personally don’t like Mabel cause she is A LOT like a high school friend I had who was super toxic an manipulative to me. Just like how Mabel is repeatedly selfish and makes Dipper give up his wants for hers and constantly teases Dipper, This ex friend of mine was the same. They constantly acted nice and quirky and friendly like Mabel but they selfishly expected everyone to cater to their needs. the repeatedly put me in positions where I had to sacrifice my wants and needs for their wants. Now while every relationship has its ups and downt,This is not a healthy relationship aspect and is extremely manipulative.

And recently with the rise of more sows wanting to have strong female leads, this trend of female leads getting away with unhealthy and toxic behaviors that we wouldn’t tolerate in male leads is becoming more and more prevalent.

Another show that does this is Miraculous Ladybug. Now don’t get me wrong, I AODRE Ladybug. But i would be remiss to ignore the fact that some of the behaviors that Marinette shows towards Adrien are creepy at best and down right stalkerish and unhealthy at worse. If the main character was a boy and he was doing those things, we would consider him toxic and not like him. but because it’s a girls, a lot of people discount it as cute and quirky.

This really needs to stop. I of course want shows with more female leads. But I don't want show that write female leads in the exact same toxic and unhealthy way that male leads are written. I want them to be good examples to young children about what ways are appropriate to act and what ways are not appropriate to act. tings like is it acceptable to send someone a death wish over a fictional character, that kind of thing.

At the end of the day,while these characters are fictional, they have a significant impact on the audience and they influence it’s viewers. But we need to be able to hold these characters up to the light and up to high standards because of the exact reason.

If you really are having such a strong emotional response to 1 persons opinion of a fictional character, a character you no doubt relate with, maybe ask yourself why? Now I can’t presume anything about you, but is it because just as you relate to the fun quirky traits of Mabel, you fear that you amy relate to the bad ones as well? Maybe you already know that you do and are overcompensating. Maybe youre just a young kid that doesn’t know that you can love something and still be critical of it. whatever your reasons for wishing harm on me, I hope you know i hold no ill will toward you and maybe you can learn in the future to not wish harm on people with different opinions then yours.

The Ladybug Puppet Show

How to Succeed Thanks to Spite Part 4

Inspiration striked me.

“And then Chat Noir asked my little sisters if they could sign their drawing. He really loved it.”

Alya was telling her friends about her encounter with the heroic duo, and how they had given her their blessings for their video. She had even gone to school with her red shirt with black dots. Nino had a black shirt, and Rose had brought cat ears for him.

“This is embarrassing”

“Nah, you look Pawesome bro” Marinette side-eyed Adrien after that pun.

“We’re filming after class. You’re more than welcome to join us. You can be Hawk Moth”

Adrien almost choked on his drink.

“Sorry, can’t do, I have a photo shoot”

“Really?” Marinette took out her phone and looked at her calendar. There was no scheduled thing, so it meant that Adrien was uncomfortable playing Hawk Moth. Not that she could blame him.

“Besides, Father wouldn’t like me appearing in a video without his approval”

“Your dad is no fun. What about you Girl? Want to join our circus?”

“I’m not good in front of a camera. I don’t think having Hawk Moth interpreted by a girl would be…”

“You’re gonna make Hawk Moth a girl in your video?” asked Juleka. Rose was at her side with hopeful eyes.

“Well, our first choice was Adrien, but since he’s not available… and since we’re making a parody, we might as well go all out. You wanna be Hawk Moth?” Alya eyed Juleka. She was already wearing purple clothes, so she could just use a Butterfly mask and she would be a nice and girly Hawk Moth.

“No, Rose wants to”

“WHAT”

“Well, Hawk Moth uses Butterflies, and I have that butterfly costume from last year’s festival, I could totally be a Butterfly villain!” Rose said, twirling and posing.

The group looked at each other.

“Rose that is… BRILLIANT! Do you think you can get your dress for after classes so we can film it?”

“Yes! I’ll call my mom right away!”

“This isn’t working!”

Alya was frustrated and exhausted. Turns out, making a voiceover was much much easier than performing the stunts necessary for the video, even if they were just pretending.

Most of the class was with them, including Adrien, whose photo shoot was “cancelled” at the last minute, Ivan, who was reusing his suit from the movie to represent an Akuma. The others were extras or working behind the cameras.

Or at least tried to, as Alya reviewed their video so far; the first cameraman had been Max, who somehow forgot to record their performance. The second had been Kim, who got distracted and started recording a squirrel that somehow got inside the school. The third had been Mylene, who managed to record the whole thing, but was nervous and thus the footage was all shaky. The fourth had been Markov, who had managed to do a decent job, but by that try they all were tired and irritated, so the whole thing had been a waste of time.

“We could try again” said Nino hopeful, but catching his breath from the last stunt. Even with their daily parkour practice, this was still too much. “After we take a break”

“Yes, Ladybug, enjoy your little break, because once it is over, I will have your Miraculous! MWAHAHA” everyone looked at Rose. Despite the Fairy Princess Unicorn Butterfly Star costume, she made a scarily convincing Hawk Moth. “Sorry. Going all evil monologues is fun.”

“You should include more world play tho. Like ‘Enjoy your little break, because once it’s over, I’ll give you a lesson and get your Miraculous’” Now everyone looked at Adrien. Marinette wondered why everyone seemed to be good with evil monologues.

“ANYWAY. It’s useless; we bit more than we could chew.”

“Why don’t we try another approach?”

“Like what?”

“Well, we could edit the videos of Ladybug that you have taken…”

“I doubt we could get a coherent narrative using only fights with Akumas. Even for a Parody”

“Why don’t we make a ‘Top Ten ways the Eiffel Tower has been destroyed’?”

“For the last time Alix, we are not asking Chat Noir to destroy the Eiffel Tower just for footage”

“Spoilsports”

“Why not a web animation? There are tons on the net, and some are actually good”

“Because only Nathaniel and Marinette can draw and only Max and Markov can code, and none of us can animate. Plus, if we do a crappy one That Guy could gloat that we’re nothing without his ‘awesome’ movie.”

“Why not middle point? Not live action, not animation”

“… CGI? That’s even more difficult”

“No, I mean, we can use Marinette’s dolls” everyone looked at Kim as if he was joking, but then they turned to Marinette. “I mean, she already has Ladybug, Chat Noir, and a couple of Akumas. But not Dark Cupid, even though it is the Best Akuma.”

“We are not having that discussion again.” Alya eyerolled. “And the dolls, while awesome, would be difficult to control especially if we go with stop motion”

“Why not puppets?” suggested Max. “They’re a valid form of entertainment and if we make them right we will be able to control their motion in an accurate manner”

“The Muppets are fairly popular and even if we are clumsy, we should be able to make a decent show with them”

“Hmm… That would give us some suspension of disbelief in certain things…”

“Well, I don’t like bragging, but I’m an expert in theatre, and have worked with the Muppets before. They wanted me in the movie, but thought I was too young and casted Amy Addams instead.”

“Wonderful! You should go and ask the company and see if they can help us with some Muppets, or at least some patterns to make them”

“Err.. I…”

“C’mon, don’t be shy, I’m sure Kermit will be glad to help, and the sooner you ask for help, the sooner we can start filming”

“I don’t have their number in my cellphone”

“Oh, don’t worry, go home and call them there if you want”

Lila mumbled something and left. Marinette was annoyed that Alya seemed to still believe the lying liar who lies.

“Ok, now let’s be real. A puppet show is probably the way to go, but the only one who can make them is Marinette, and she is loaded with commission work for Jagged, Clara, Austin Moon and Kitty Section. It would be unfair to ask Marinette to do all that work and for free.”

The members of Kitty Section gulped. Marinette smiled at her friend reassurance, and the fact they were now playing Lila instead of the other way around. “Well, it’s not a problem, but with my other responsibilities, it would take at least a couple of weeks… a month, even.”

“Can’t you just cut your current dolls legs?”

“I’d cut your legs first. Puppets and dolls are very different things. Even if I reuse the dolls, I still need to design the patterns for a functional puppet. Once I have it I would need to tweak it for the different characters.”

“We can help with the sewing” Offered Juleka. Rose and Mylene nodded. Ivan nodded too. Everyone just looked at him.

“Mom taught me how to knit. It’s relaxing. It’s different from sewing but I can help.”

“I can assist Marinette with the engineering of the puppets” offered Markov. Max nodded.

“We can do the backgrounds” offered Alix, pointing to Nathaniel.

“And Marc, Adrien and you can do the plots and dialogues. Nino can be the director.”

“Yeah, we all can help in one way or another!”

Alya thought of that. A puppet show was a little low brow, but it was for fun and everyone was willing to chip in. Even Lila could probably help if she didn’t lie her way out of it, or got akumatized first.

“We can try that.”

Everyone smiled and cheered for their new group (plus Marc) project.

“Ahem” Chloe cleared her throat. Everyone turned their attention to her. “I couldn’t help hearing…”

“Because you were spying on us”

“… I couldn’t help hearing on purpose that you’re planning a Ladybug show made with puppets.”

ML Season 3 Rewatch: Silencer

This is the first episode I ever truly watched live, downloaded a VPN and everything to watch on RTS lol. I only know a little bit of French and I remember being really proud of myself that I actually understood like 80% of the dialogue, and I was all excited about being able to watch future premieres in French. Yeah that didn’t work out lol, turns out that Silencer just happened to have easier dialogue for me to understand than others lol. Anywayssss, let’s watch it again!!

I hate XY and freakin Bob Roth (also why’d they name him that lmaoo)

XY and Nino having the same voice actor in the English dub throws me off every time lol

really interesting that hawkmoth points out luka as having a “pure soul”

i wonder if the original concept for luka’s akumatized form stemmed from the whole “not good with his words” thing that he says when he’s first introduced back in Captain Hardrock. I really like that concept for his character, and that he like, lets his music do most of the talk for him - and then as an akumatized victim he steals the voices of other to let THEM do the talking for him. But, in the execution of his character it seems like that’s gotten lost a bit. Like, he was talking a lot so far in the episode, and seemed to have a pretty good handle on himself and expressing himself accurately. Idk, this is something I’d like to see explored a bit more with him eventually. Just to see him have a bit more flaws and be more of a presence outside of just liking Marinette, because I like his character a lot and I think there’s potential there but the writers are just sort of letting it fall to the side a bit and over focusing on his feelings for her instead

watching this back to back with Weredad is a little interesting, seeing how adrien/chat reacts to a love confession compared with how marinette does here. they’re both excited, and unsure what to do about it at first. although, the show purposely leaves marinette’s true reaction to be pretty vague - feels like they wanna leave us in the dark on the full depth of marinette’s potential feelings for luka, and don’t want us to overanalyze anything (which everyone does anyway of course lol)

marinette’s blush and shy little way of asking luka if he meant the things he said?? she’s so cute. also, her having the courage to ask him about his feelings is more than we’ve ever seen her be comfortable enough to do with adrien (besides the confession gone wrong in Backwarder). but she asked luka without any real hesitation or worry, which tells me she still needs some time to be a bit more comfortable around adrien before she’s ready to be with him for real (and that’s okay!!)

i love that his speech is exactly the same as when he was akumatized. even when he was under hawkmoth’s control he knows his feelings for her, and isn’t afraid to voice those exact feelings to her as himself either.

I really like this episode overall, it’s a nice little break from our usual bunch of characters (also like, where is Alya this season lol, I miss her), and I do like seeing a bit of development for Luka and Marinette’s relationship (although, like I said, I would like more of Luka himself at some point) And this is two episodes in a row where we haven’t seen Marinette interact with Adrien really at all which feels sort of strange when I think about it lol.

A lot of these earlier episodes don’t feel like they have direct lead ins to later episodes, but I do feel like the order so far is still the best flow of the ones I’ve watched. And this episode does make the most sense to me as being the first of the “Lukanette” episodes this season - it definitely feels like it comes before Desperada at least. Otherwise, I didn’t really see much else to pinpoint it’s location.

Chapter Seven Fieldwork

For this assignment I watched over fourty-five minutes of PBS kids live TV. I found only the first two commercials which were clips of Halloween episodes from different shows. Afternnot finding many commercials on live television I searched Youtube for other commercials, which I found there. Those links are attatched below. When I searched "How many ads are on TV per hour" I found that there are roughly eleven minutes worth of advertisements per hour of television which was how I decided the number of commercials to analyze for this project.

1: -Pbs kids halloween shows -not gendered -just showed pieces of halloween themed episodes

2:PBS kids -dancing raisins -science experiments -deep voice -included boys and girls
