Jashmas Days 7, 8 & 9

Sorry for the small disappearance! I had some important family/religious events which meant I could barely draw lmaooo

But! I’ve come back momentarily (since I’ve gotta disapear for 2 more days) for TFftT fanart!!

So, most probably might be wondering why this doodle isn’t as Christmas-y as the ones before. And that is because this doodle is kinda based on a memory I have from around these times, which is down here if you wanna read it! ⬇️

So, from what i remember, this memory went like this:

I was around 8-10 years old, in the first house i ever lived, celebrating my younger cousin’s 4th or 6th birthday. It was freezing cold outside, so both my cousin and I were inside the house, that was until our uncle decided to drag us outside and sit us by the bonfire were my entire family was sitting and chatting at. Then, my uncle basically started to ramble on and on to both us, giving us life lessons about things I don’t exactly remember anymore, but they all had the same ending: “Take care of each other as if you guys were siblings, no matter what happens.”

That conversation, as blurry as it is thanks to how young i was, has always been dear to me, specially since my lil’ cousin was falling asleep in my lap (much like Past is doing in this doodle!) and my uncle wouldn’t stop rambling despite the freezing temperatures of that night. Maybe it was the beer keeping him talking lol.

But. Basically, the small headcanon i have about these three is that they take care of each other, no matter what. And Future is always giving the other two life lessons, since he is technically the oldest one of them, Present always listens to him, keeping his advice in mind, however, Past always sleeps through them. (He’d rather be in his DS than listening to that “old man”)

Something Light for Law’s Birthday

Summary: I don’t know what this is. I don’t know why this is. This isn’t compliant with Attention but it could be? Don’t question any canon-compliance either, it makes absolutely no sense but it’s fun (to me)

You and Zoro force Law to come join you to celebrate his birthday.

Pairing: none really…it might be a lil something if you squint. GN!Reader.

“Come on man, you gotta loosen up.”

Law’s eyes were downcast, scowl deepening as he crossed his arms.

“I’m loose enough Zoro-ya.”

“Come on Law. One puff of a badly-concealed joint every six months is not what I would call “loosening up,” you nudged, knocking your hip into his. Eyes bulged as the preparation of a denial sat on the tip of his tongue.

“Law it’s your birthday, please just have a drink with us.”

Your feigned puppy dog eyes were your most abused weapon in your arsenal, and yet their impact was just as effective every time.

Zoro snorted as Law’s body went limp, allowing you to drag him towards the thunderous din of the pub.

“Stop trying to fight it Torao, you know it’s inevitable. Just let it happen.”

Placing his hands on stiff shoulders, you and Zoro worked in tandem to push and pull the grumbling man through the saloon-like doors.

The pub was loud, filled to the brim with a jubilant energy that wove it’s way throughout the staggering bodies. Everything in Law’s being wanted to reject the place, but he’d unfortunately fallen victim to the loathsome combination of your emotional blackmail and Zoro’s aggressive strong-arming.

Finding a place to settle was far too easy when you had two notorious pirates, toting bounties well into the hundred millions, at your side. Various grizzled patrons scattered like pests escaping fluorescents, and within seconds a worn-down booth tucked away in a darkened corner appeared—slightly obscured and just cozy enough for the three of you to squeeze into.

As you and Law sunk into the ripped cushions, Zoro tugged on the collar of a passing bar man, swiping the four tankards of ale sloshing about on the tray. Taking a seat on the other side of Law, he passed you each a pint, keeping the remaining two for himself.

“Zoro, stop being stingy and give me half of that extra one.”

“I’m the one that got these for us, you want another one, go get it yourself.”

“All you did was make that poor guy’s job harder by stealing someone else’s. What you should’ve done was get us some shots, we’re supposed to be celebrating his birthday. Do it properly.”

“Oi!”

You and Zoro—having leaned over Law’s body to fuss at each other—switched your attention back to the guest of honor, whose temples throbbed with irritation.

“You two have stolen me away from my crew and dragged me to this dump to celebrate my shitty birthday. Shut up and cheers my drink so we can leave.”

Your eyes ping-ponged between Zoro and Law’s, taking hold of your tankard and raising it in front of you.

“Alright Captain grump, come lend me your ear.”

Mildly perplexed and begrudgingly amused, he followed your lead. Zoro snickered beside him, stealing a few gulps of his ale.

“Trafalgar Law, you are one of the most irritable, emotionally-constipated, uptight men I’ve ever met.”

He sighed. “Is this really what you dragged me out here for?”

“But-“ you continued, “you are also one of the most thoughtful, insightful, and kindest people I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. Not to mention, you’re a total smoke show.”

“And ‘with cool tattoos’” Zoro mocked, slapping Law on the back as the other man choked on his drink.

“And with cool tattoos. Law, you’re a better person than you give yourself credit for, and I hope you know how much you mean to people. You deserve to be celebrated, okay?”

“Hm.”

Catching Zoro’s eye again, you leaned in close to rest you chin on his shoulder. Zoro mirrored you on his other side.

“I said,” you hissed through gritted teeth,” you deserve to be celebrated. Say it back.”

“Say it back Law,” Zoro parroted.

If he really wanted to, he could warp himself away from your clutches and back onto the pier where his sub was docked, sinking back into the ocean’s depths. He could easily make an escape despite the weight of your threatening eyes and Zoro’s grip holding him in place. He really, really could.

“I…deserve to be celebrated,” he muttered with a resigned sigh. You blinked, a satisfied smile painting your lips.

“I can’t believe you got him to actually say it,” Zoro guffawed as he wrapped an arm around his neck. Law balked as he was jostled, drink splashing onto his jeans.

“I know, I didn’t think I’d have this much influence over him. I’m glad you’ve began your self-love journey Law.”

He slapped your hand away before you could pinch his cheek, shaking his mug in his other hand.

“Alright, I listened to your senseless babble. Fucking cheers me now.

With a chirping laugh you each took your mugs, raising them into the air.

“Happy Birthday Law!” you hooted, clinking his mug and taking a sip.

“Happy Birthday Torao,” Zoro grunted, tapping his mug and downing the rest.

Law sat still with his arm outstretched, a small smile etching his face. Without another word he chugged his nearly full mug, reaching for the second stolen tankard on Zoro’s side and draining that too. You sat with your mouth agape, eyes fixed on the space where the two empty mugs should have been, now replaced with a tray of short glasses filled with an amber liquid.

“Close your mouths and come grab a shot. We’re supposed to be celebrating me, aren’t we?”

Further invading his space, you and Zoro reached over and took a glass.

“I hope you don’t think that just because it’s your birthday you can hang with the big boys. You better pace yourself, we got a long night ahead of us!”

ryomina canon -- a thread

hi this is my transferring the ryomina post I originally made on my twitter to tumblr, as my twitter has been archived. this was originally made like a couple weeks after reload came out haha. ignore the bad formating :^)

since theres been a lot of persona ship discourse going around.. no im not trying to say ryomina is the only canon ship, nor that any other ship is bad. i just find the little dialogue changes that atlus purposely included to be interesting. you dont have to ship.

thats fine. just ignore this thread and go on LOL. now thats outs of the way, some of this will be.. a stretch, and definitely ranty. my apologizes !! and also, all p3p and p3fes screenshots and recordings r taken from online playthroughs.

and b4 someone says 'oh you havent played p3fes and p3p?!?!' i played p3fes on my ps3, as for portable. i havent, so sorry if i get info relating to that wrong ;; 

*Moonlight Bridge Scene*

firstly, i don't want to start off with the obvious love confession ryoji has on 12/1, but instead i want to focus on some dialogue changes that stood out to me. during the moonlight bridge scene, instead of fuuka being the to run up to ryoji, it's makoto. this stood out to me with the context of what happened on 12/1. there was no need for atlus to change something so minor, except if they wanted show the concern makoto has for ryoji. also! only the manga has makoto catching ryoji, in both routes for p3p, he just passes out.

they ended up changing the scene to resemble the one in the manga. purposefully choice atlus!

*12/3 Dialogue*

then followed by giving makoto dialogue choices exclusive to femcs route, where you can romance him. again it's such a minor change that struck me as interesting, did they want to showcase the bond between makoto and ryoji further?

imo its to push this idea that it personally effects makoto, that having to kill ryoji is a difficult choice for makoto, just like it is with kotone. he doesn't want to kill ryoji, he hates both choices, because of ryoji, because of what it involves to erase their memories 

*12/31 Dialogue*

since i'm talking about makoto killing ryoji-- let's go onto the changes during 12/31 !! the changes made here are some of the (imo) most major ones, as they ended up giving ryoji dialogue that ONLY happens when you romance him in kotones route

this dialogue ONLY happens if you romance ryoji in femc route, if you don't, the dialogue is exactly the same as in fes. i think its obvious on what the implications of ryoji saying this are. i don't think i need to spell it out to you dear reader on WHY atlus purposely added romance-exclusive route dialogue..

oh! and speaking of that, the additional dialogue after you choose not to kill him! again, theres no extra dialogue in his fes and no romance route, make of this as you will!

also, unlike pretty much all the slinks and additonal episodes added into the game, makoto actually puts ryojis music box on his bed board thing. a way to remember ryoji and the bond they had, even if they're separated.

in general, i think these slight dialogue changes help showcase that ryoji does, infact, have feelings for makoto, even if you choose to ignore the piano scene. from adding dialogue that's specifically from a romance route, to the literal music box. ryomina canon!!

anyways i think a lot of what i said above isn’t too far of a stretch, but im like totally aware everything past here might be me coping, but hey! its fun.

but let's continue looking at 12/31, except this time.. the bad ending! while the bad ending is mostly the same, ive noticed some changes when it comes to pacing and the animation. atlus clearly shows that makoto is visibly upset, they have him turn to show his face not just once (him turning his face towards the camera while on the bed) , but twice, when he gets up and gets ready to shoot ryoji. they make the change of his expression VISIBLE. his faces changes to visibly being distraught. then theres makoto summoning his persona itself is delayed in reload, there's cleary hesitant when it comes to him summoning it in reload. it takes a couple of seconds for the fade to black, vs fes where it fades to black as soon as he pulls out his evoker.

also seriously this additional dialogue when nyxs true arcana is revealed? i'd say it was somewhat taken from the movie, but come on. Come on, do i need to explain

anyways! i just. theres nothing i can say much other then they deliberately allowed for this dialogue to happen. they didn't need to, atlus didn't need to say that ryojis song (and by extension, ryoji himself) left an impression on makoto.

alright i think this is the end.. friendly reminder that this is all for fun, if you don't ship them, thats fine. i just think with atlus stealing dialogue from kotones romance route for ryoji, there's heavy, and id say canonically evidence of ryomina. 

and some afterthoughts as almost a year has past since ive written this thread. i still find the purposefully inclusion of kotone's romance dialogue pretty damning for ryoji lmfao. the more i've thought about it, the more i do genuinely believe that ryomina at the very least is semi-canon, with ryoji canonically having feelings for makoto.

sadly this is persona, the i know the persona fandom well to call the few examples we have of actual queer relationships 'queerbait', or just ignore it. it's a shame because i do think ryoji's love for makoto in reload is so well written, and such a tragedy. but hey, its atlus lmfao

..also ryoji saying 'next time i flirt with girls ill make sure they dont have bfs ^-^' then straight up asking makoto if he has someone like god ik what you are.
