Piglin
Hog-folk of the infernal nether. They’re in a post-apocalyptic state now, but they were once the most advanced civilization in Minecraft, even trumping the Ancient Builders. They use machines instead of magic.
Sows are slightly larger and fatter than males, with smaller tusks. Boars are more muscular, with bony faces and coarse black manes. Boars often adorn themselves with jewelry, body paint, and the like, to woo sows, and bachelors marry into groups run by old matriarchs. Sows of high rank in bastions usually have a harem of males serving both as concubines and bodyguards. Piglin are for the most part polyamorous.
They communicate in Piglish, a mixture of signing and vocalisations. Complex sentences are signed, and sounds are used as emotive context clues, like auditory tone tags.

GUYS
Idk if someone else has thought of this before, but hear me out on this new worldbuilding headcanon for Minecraft. Phantoms pose the same ecological role as IRL vultures. That being, they eat dead bodies. The reason a lot of them swarm (and even attack) the player when they haven't gotten sleep is because they sense lack of energy (which, for a lot of animals means death is nearby) and assume the player is either dead or dying.

WOF tribe Merchant/Trading booth concepts:
Hey folks! This one was the recent winner of this WOF poll, so here’s my concept art that headcannons trading in Pyrrhia.
Read below cut for close-ups of the individual booths + the thought process / headcannons behind the design choices: 👇

Skywings: The Sky Kingdom’s mountain ranges provide plenty of pasture for raising sheep. As such, Skywing shepherds benefit from traveling to sell their wool, dyes, fabric, and woven tapestries. Many of these merchant tables also include herbs grown exclusively in the mountains, or ibex drinking horns that can be strapped on a dragon’s shoulder & carried in flight.
Along with goods, Skywing merchants may offer sewing services to fix tears, burn marks, or other fabric damage. They are sought out for their quality clothing, and most fabric across Pyrria originated from a Skywing’s talons.

Mudwings: Mudwings’ abundant food & cooking skills are envied almost anywhere in Pyrrhia. Their swamps have fertile soil, responsible for hosting diverse crops which can be purchased as produce at merchant stalls. For those lucky enough to find a traveling Mudwing merchant, the promise of a delicious dish can be whipped up and served at the stall in no time. Along with produce goods, Mudwings sell weaved baskets, spices, and cooking ware.

Sandwings: Sandwing booths offer luxuries of the desert: It’s most common to find accessories such as gold carved jewelry or musical instruments such as drums, lyres, & mandolins for sale. Though, even more sought out across Pyrrhia is Sandwing tattoos/piercings, which are done within the merchant areas. Ink etchings on papyrus paper are stationed outside their tents to showcase designs. All which can be selected, and poked into the skin with a tapping stick and plant dye ink by a trained talon.

Seawings: SeaWings sell a variety of ocean related goods; taking a share in the fish market with Icewings. Outside of food, there are den decorations like driftwood carvings, accessories such as seashell & pearl jewelry, and rope nets weaved by expert Seawing sailors. Some Seawings even sell fishing equipment, canoes, or offer sailor knot tying instructions to curious dragon buyers.

Nightwings: During the war, it was near impossible to find a Nightwing merchant. Most refused to participate in merchant territory, mostly as a way to keep up with their tribe’s mysterious nature.
Though in the more shady, unground parts of the market you can buy from a huge selection of obsidian weaponry, the sharpest in Pyrrhia. No one knew initially how Nightwings smithed so many weapons, or why, until their secret volcano kingdom and the intention to invade the rainforest was discovered. Then forging armor & weapons became clear. Along with a vast armory, for the right price, some Nightwing merchants offer Prophecies & Nightwing Literature (not always guaranteed to always be reliable) and assassin services as well (very reliable).

Rainwings: Though Rainwings haven’t been part of Pyrrhia trading for years, they have a vast hold on dragon medicine. An apothecary of herbs, salves, and remedies are all offered for various ailments due to the rainforest’s abundant resources. Along with medicinal goods, many Rainwings are fruit vendors, promising to any hesitant meat-eating dragons that such an array of flavors isn’t to be missed. Though, their fruit selling pitches often fall flat to most other predominantly meat-eating tribes.

Icewings: Icewings have everything a dragon could need to brace the cold, with a selection of goods only found in the most frigid regions of Pyrrhia. Furs, bone jewelry, and fresh fish (thanks to frost breath) are served on ice. Though Icewings themselves don’t require fur to withstand the cold, it’s considered fashionable and common in upper ranks to wear fur as a status symbol. Since metal is hard to smith without fire & in cold temperatures, fur and bone are more accessible to Icewings for clothing statements.

Tribe variations: seawings
Here comes the next part of the tribe variations! I see you liked my previous post on this topic with Icewings, so here is the continuation. I see most people wanted seawings, and in the wof community people REALLY like seawings variations, so here they are! Who do you want to see next: skywings, leafwings or nightwings?

PYRRHIA
*Alt text available!

Roughly 1.5x the size of North America, Pyrrhia is the largest continent inhabited by dragons. Despite it's monumental size, very few areas on the map are considered un-owned territory, with even fewer areas being considered unexplored entirely.
Thanks to the continent's huge climate range, Pyrrhia has the most dragon tribe diversity of any landmass, hosting seven tribes in their entirety.
This includes: SkyWings, IceWings, SandWings, MudWings, RainWings, NightWings and SeaWings.
IceWing Territory
The Ice Kingdom, inhabited primarily by IceWings, is a large peninsula in the far north, also including a smaller cape just slightly south. It borders both the Sky Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sand.
While a large portion of IceWings live within the walls of the Ice Palace (an extravagant city compared to most other palaces), the majority live in villages and towns along the Ice Kingdom's coast. This is ideal for most, since the primary food source of IceWings are fish & sea-faring birds and mammals. However, it's not uncommon to find an IceWing family or two living further inland, hunting elk and other land-dwelling prey.
While only a relatively small portion of IceWing territory remains snowy year-round, the entire territory all the way down to Where-No-Dragon-Goes-Hungry can be seen blanketed in ice and snow during the winter months.
SkyWing Territory
The Sky Kingdom is home to the SkyWings, and is the largest land-based dragon-claimed territory on the map, give or take. Their territory borders several other kingdoms, including the Kingdom of the Sea, Ice Kingdom, Mud Kingdom, and the Kingdom of Sand.
Being quite physically big and territorial compared to most other dragons, SkyWings demand much more space (and use of such space) than their neighbors, despite there being much fewer of them overall. By technicality, the Sky Kingdom encompasses the entire Pyrrhian mountain range; although the SkyWings living any farther south than the Diamond Spray Delta tend not to argue about where borders are drawn, so long as they get a good night's sleep.
SkyWings tend to live solitarily or in pairs/family units, with the exception of those living in the Sky Palace working for the current Queen. Due to this, there are very few dedicated SkyWing towns or villages, with most SkyWings opting instead to pick out an ideal cave in the mountains to call home. This is of course not absolute, and there are many SkyWings living in harmony in bordering towns and cities with other tribes, some being SkyWing dominant.
MudWing Territory
The Mud Kingdom is home to the MudWings; the tribe of the largest land-dwelling dragons in the world. Their kingdom borders the Sky Kingdom, the Kingdom of the Sea and the Rainforest Kingdom.
Despite their size, they actually don't hold the largest amount of territory. Being rather sedentary, they typically never need more than the average pond to themselves and their siblings.
MudWing territory consists of a variety of land types, with the standard swamps and marshes; but also including bamboo forests, floodplains, sparse rainforest and grasslands. This variety in biome gives them plenty of agricultural opportunity, making MudWings one of the largest exporters of both plant and animal produce.
Their rich land also provides an abundance of earthen materials that other tribes covet for their own uses in construction, pottery and other types of craftsmanship; including kaolinite and other clays, calcite, etc!
RainWing Territory
The Rainforest Kingdom is home to the RainWings, the tribe of the smallest and most numerous dragons on the continent. Their kingdom borders the Mud Kingdom and the Kingdom of the Sea.
RainWings live communally, and thus are not separated into several towns. Rather, all RainWings (for the most part) share a single village that extends quite far throughout the rainforest, held together by the Queen's Royal Pavilion (marked on the map as the RainWing Village).
Although, since the events of the NightWing exodus from the Volcano, there lies a single other village amongst the jungle. Some RainWings find it comfortable enough to live there with the NightWing refugees, but don't prefer it.
The rainforest is a dragon's ultimate destination for near any kind of exotic fruit, flower, or animal. While RainWings used to be the top exporter of their tropical produce, these days the MudWings have taken on the task of growing orchards and vineyards, while the RainWings keep to themselves.
SeaWing Territory
SeaWing territory, home to the SeaWings, is technically the largest dragon-claimed territory on earth; this is because the vast majority of their inhabited space is underwater, and thus there is very little competition for territory. The land they control however, is the smallest compared to any other tribe, consisting mostly of small islands and islets. Their territory borders the Rainforest Kingdom, Mud Kingdom and Sky Kingdom.
Despite being the largest kind of dragon on the planet, they are incredibly numerous due to the abundance of food and territory. SeaWings live communally, but are spread across several habitable zones, including the Deep Palace and Summer Palace (their primary homes), and various island caves, huts, deep sea trenches, and sea stacks.
They are also partially migratory, spending warmer springs and summers in the Summer Palace, and living deeper underwater through autumn and winter.
SandWing Territory
The Kingdom of Sand, controlled by the SandWings, is the third largest land-based dragon territory on the continent. Consisting of vast dunes and open savannas, this desert environment isn't suitable for most other tribes. Their kingdom borders the Sky Kingdom and the Ice Kingdom.
Despite their large quantity of land, SandWings are actually not very high in population; more than SkyWings or especially NightWings, but fewer than most. SandWings are largely nomadic, not living in one particular place for their whole lives; instead relying on sparse oases and rivers spread throughout the desert, and traveling around for food.
Some SandWings, particularly those seeking refuge and safety from war, may choose to spend most of their time in small cities like the Scorpion Den, or border towns like Possibility and Sanctuary. Even then, many prefer to stay on their feet and travel often, reserving their town homes for sleep, rough weather or retirement.
Similarly, many SandWings working for royalty may choose to live in the Stronghold.
NightWing Territory
NightWing territory, the smallest and most uninhabitable, is home to the declining population of NightWings. It does not directly border any other kingdoms, but does have an animus-conjured portal to the Rainforest Kingdom.
Despite all the odds, NightWings manage to survive here on the small (near completely ash-polluted) ponds dotting the island, and by using desalination devices to convert seawater into drinkable water.
The prey on their volcanic home is close to non-existent; consisting almost entirely of occasional seabirds, crabs, beached sea turtles, and fish caught far out at sea using nets; although as time goes on, fewer NightWings are in good enough health to carry fish-filled nets back home.
Their fortress is half-collapsed due to a volcanic eruption, and the air is so hot, heavy and sulphuric that one might find it almost impossible to breathe if you hadn't been born there. What a pity.
Version with ALL Points of Interest

Blank Version

*You may use the blank version of the map for personal things as long as credit to Thorne & I is given! Tag me if you do :D I'd love to see!
This has been in the works probably the longest of anything I've made in relation to my WoF headcanons. I swear I've redone this entire map 3 or 4 times. After a year and a half, hopefully this is the last!!
I hope y'all like it!!
Huge thanks to my friend Thorne for her contributions to the climate placing, I wouldn't have been able to make it look at ALL natural without her help.
If you have any questions or suggestions for edits/additions please let me know! My ask box is open too.

Neuron misproduction ideas that spawned from this ask about iterators getting sick - maybe more along that line in the future?
Full transcript under the cut.
Neuron Misproduction
--
Neuron flies are comparable to living RAM for iterators. Their purpose is to process short-term information.
They are mostly made out of fat. A high-calorie snack for a slugcat.
Simplified anatomy chart labels each part of the body:
a. Protective membrane (Encapsulates the neuron)
b. Nucleus. (Large ellipsoid at the top-center of the neuron.) Longer-term data caching; oldest data is lost when it is overwritten by new data or when the cache is flushed.
c. Processing organelles. (Several smaller ellipsoids that line the inside of the neuron's membrane.) Data is constantly and cyclically refreshed.
d. Anchoring/connective tissue between the nucleus and processing organelles.
e. Cytosol that provides structural integrity to the neuron fly, and facilitates storage and transport of various resources. (Fills all the extra space of the neuron)
f. Nutrient processing system. Neuron flies mostly function off direct energy transferral, but organic components are still necessary. Both are absorbed directly through other iterator macro-microorganisms. (Resembles a simplified digestive system)
g. Connective tissue between the nucleus and flagellum, used when directly interfacing with other iterator components. (Fibrous tissue surrounded by myelin sheaths, like an axon or the umbilical cord of an iterator)
h. Flagellum, primarily used for locomotion (Long whiplike protrusions on the bottom of the neuron fly)
i. Dendrites that unsheath when interfacing (Many tiny split ends at the end of the flagellum)
--
Type: Flagellum deformation Neuron is missing some or all of its flagellum, and/or flagellum are uneven lengths
Not as deadly as spheroid neurons, but harder to detect by inspectors. Neurons without flagellum often cannot access other macro-microorganisms to interface with, and therefore gain resources from, so they usually die on their own. Can rarely cause clogs in single-row neuron transit or affect overall processing speed. A rising count of flagellum deformations may be an early indicator of issues with biological synthesis.
Neuron 1: Typical
Neuron 2: Very reduced flagellum with some shriveling
Neuron 3: Left flagellum forks into a second partially-formed flagellum. Right flagellum exhibits slight shriveling and fraying at the end.
--
Type: Gutless body Neurons that often appear normal from the outside, but are missing essential internal components.
This neuron type can often be detected early through careful inspections. Often presents as a virtual husk, only capable of consuming energy and moving about.
Ironically, the nutrient processing system is sometimes enlarged, taking up more space where the other organelles are smaller or missing. This neuron type is relatively easy to remove when detected, and doesn't cause major issues other than resource consumption.
Neuron 1: Typical
Neuron 2: Enlarged nutrient processing system, no processing organelles, severely reduced nucleus
Neuron 3: All organelles are severely reduced, neuron is slimmer and mostly composed of cytosol
--
Type: Spheroid Neuron's body length is significantly reduced, often resulting in a spheroid shape.
A spheroid neuron has warped or missing crucial internal structures. It is more dangerous than a gutless neuron due to still being able to process, and therefore corrupt, or result in the loss of information.
Not all neurons of this type are spheroid; it's just named after the common distinct shape. Many neurons of this type lack structural integrity, and do not make it past the production phase.
In a healthy iterator, faulty neurons are rare, and are usually recycled before they can even leave the production phase, or are otherwise destroyed by inspectors.
Mass production of spheroid neurons indicate severe internal issues. At that point, equipment and inspectors likely are failing to recognize faulty neurons or, worse, are indiscriminately destroying all of them. This encourages a stressful rapid production of neurons, which may lead to further equipment failure.
Due to neuron flies' major role in memory encoding and retrieval, neuron corruption can disrupt active processes and cause errors in data storage. In severe cases, affected neurons can corrupt the macro-microorganisms they interface with, and vice versa in a cascade effect, possibly leading to seizures and dementia.
Neuron 1: Typical
Neuron 2: Very round and flattened neuron. Nucleus is partially split and merged with a processing organelle. The rest of the cytoplasm is squished.
Neuron 3: Membrane is pinched into the neuron. Lacks a clear nucleus. Flagella connection is fused at one segment, forming an X-shape.
Neuron 4: Membrane is pinched and folded in several areas, resulting in an unusual asymmetric shape. Organelles are reduced and shoved into whatever space is available. Only one flagellum is connected.
Neuron 5: Membrane is overgrown on one side, leaving little space for the cytoplasm. The nutrient processing system is partially ingrown within the membrane.

I like to think that Barbatos doesn't sleep, sometimes he does it for pleasure, but he doesn't really need it. So he spends his nights wandering around the nooks and crannies of his room, looking at the different doors or seeing how the flow of water or a staircase has changed direction. Consequently, Barbatos does not have a bed in his room.
However, after what happened with Belphie and Mc, Mc would stop by his room constantly, to thank him (again), deliver homemade cakes or drinks, or just to see how he was doing.
At first the demon could not understand the human, weren't they afraid of that place? Weren't they uncomfortable with the certainty of the time represented in his room? Weren't they terrified of being so close… to him?
Those questions never left him, but he grew accustomed to the human's presence, he liked listening to them talk, how attentive they were to him. Sometimes he let them wander freely through the places he had so often wandered at night. And after a while he began to look forward to Mc's visits.
First he waited for the visits, then he began to crave them, later one visit was too little and he began to drag it out until Mc had to spend the night at the palace because it was too late…. But it wasn't enough, he felt he had to monopolize their ephemeral time, he needed those moments to belong to him alone.
Barbatos: Mc, are you coming today?
Mc: Barbatos! Yes, I'll bring the candy I told you last time.
Barbatos: I'm glad… By the way I have incorporated a new element in my quarters.
Mc: ????
Barbatos: A bed, thanks to you I find it more pleasant to sleep, so I thought I'd need one.
Mc: That's great!!! Hahahaha *with a mocking tone* so I can sleep in your room now?
Barbatos: *chuckles* I hadn't thought of that.
That's how the time-controlling demon did something he never imagined, incorporating a bed, even though he didn't need it, for a single human, was something strange to say the least. Although, of course, that a human would enter his most intimate domain without any fear was the strangest thing of all. And there was no greater pleasure than curling up next to Mc and sleep.
.
.
I've been going through a lot of Barbatos stories in devilgram and in many of them Mc falls asleep in Barbatos' room, but then I look at her room and I can't help but laugh at the thought of where the bed would be, because in that space a bed doesn't even fit 😂😂😂, so I think it's funny to imagine the origin of that supposed bed in a room that looks like a mystical ruin.
Thanks for reading 🩷

Players. Robots made by the ancient builders, put in stasis and made to awaken (‘spawn’) 1000 years after the apocalypse.
Alex was made to be a hunter, wanderer and identifier. She was captured by the illager empire shortly after awakening and subjected to torturous experimentation. She escaped, but not without terrible trauma and a taste for vengeance. Agoraphobic, abrasive, utilitarian, loyal, and resourceful.
Steve was made to be a builder, miner and engineer. He was taken in by villagers after wandering the world alone and afraid for an unknown amount of time. A cleric named Reinard taught him how to brew, read and write, and function in villager society. He is kind, shy, curious and naive. He likes people, but doesn’t know how to act around them.
Hero was the first player made. He is the only one who remembers the ancient civilization. Everything he knows is dead, except for the other two. The ones made to replace him.

Headcanons: Baby Tiefling
My headcanons on tiefling development/anatomy, specifically infant tiefling, because the idea of tiny, kitten-like tieflings was too adorable to resist!
I had to reference so many sphinx kittens. Wrinkly, squishy babies <3
Transcript Below Cut:
Horn Buds Horn tissue starts growing from birth, but bone doesn't start to develop until 2-3 months
Loose Skin As babies, tiefling have prominent scruff until right (around) 3 years of age. Depending on the variant of tiefling, some parts of the skin might still remain loose to help the body remain flexible while running and jumping. (Other spines, spikes, and ridges will start to show as the body fills into its loose skin.)
Tail Variety The development and grwoth of a tiefling's tail depends vastly on the individual it belongs to! Spikes, spines, and other bone growth might grow at the same rate as their horns, but some don't develop until puberty (and some don't grow anything more than the initial tail bone at birth).
OTHER - Ears remain soft & folded until about 2-3 months as well (ref horn buds) - Eyes will remain closed 1-2 weeks after birth - Tiny claws develop at birth, but they remain soft for the first few weeks - Infant tiefling might also be referred to as tiefling cubs or kittens! - That's (the drawing) baby Marzio!

upon the heart of magic mountain 🌸🗻
from the oceanic goddess revered in the cyberpunk city on its hillside, to the stories of the ochre-feathered canary who's song hasn't been heard in years, it has been long thought by theorists that perhaps the magic imbued into this mountain was no coincidence- but rather the creation of mystical beings seeking to make a haven of sorts, a home protected by the powers that lie within this volcanic formation.

a star system is a small number of stars that orbit each other, bound by gravitational attraction. a larger group of stars is generally called a star cluster or a galaxy, although broadly speaking these are still star systems. at the centre of galaxies, one can commonly find supermassive black holes.
