Alfred 

-Alfred would be so pumped! He would pull you into a hug as soon as you handed it to him.

 “Wow these are so nice! I feel so loved! Though I feel a bit bad that I haven’t gotten you anything yet.” 

-He eats all the chocolates immediately. He does mention that the chocolates that have a floral notes are especially tasty. 

-To make up for his lack of a present, he tries to take you on a run so you have to get him to let his stomach settle before he makes himself sick. 

-Later, he gifts you a large and beautiful bouquet of Firenese flowers as thanks. 

“Thank you, [Y/N]. Though these beautiful buds will one day will 

Diamant

-Diamant would look quite stoic as he gracefully takes the chocolates from you.

-He sneaks a bite of one of them and hums as he savors the taste of it. He mentions that the grape flavor reminds him of some of his favorite dishes. 

“You are quite skilled in making chocolate. Perhaps I should hire you personally to make chocolate for me.”

-He blushes at his own words. 

“Obviously you mean more to me than just making sweets tolerable. What I mean to say is thank you for the gift. It is very lovely that you considered my tastes so carefully.”

-He offers you a polished and cut gemstone set in a bracelet made specially for you. Though he wouldn’t say it, it took a lot of effort to get it crafted from the gem he mined personally for you. 

Alcryst 

-Alcryst would be so confused. He wonders if someone dared you to give him a gift.

 “I’m so sorry that you would even have to waste this precious chocolate on me.”

-Once you explain that you made them specifically for him and put a lot of love into making them, his eyes get wide.

”I’m so sorry if I was insulting your feelings. How rude of me! I just never thought you would give such a lovely gift to me of all people. Even if I had really hoped you would find it in your heart to offer it to someone as lowly as me.”

-He quickly opens them to eat a few to show his appreciation. He picks out the flavors exactly and asks how you made them. He might not actually try to make the chocolate himself especially since he doesn’t often eat sweets, but he wants to show he really does appreciate the effort you put in for him.

Griss

-Griss would look oddly disappointed as you hand him the box of chocolates. 

 “What’s this? Chocolate? I’m not about that sweet stuff, babe. You know I like something more... substantial.”

-When you tell him that they are for him to give to you as rewards as you dish out his real present, a wicked grin stretches across his face. He seems extremely pleased at the thought.

- He pulls out a necklace with a small empty vial as the pendant. 

“I thought we could at one more event to tonight. I even know exactly where you should carve me open to really fill that thing up.”

Mauvier

Mauvier at first would be concerned at the chocolates that you present to him. 

“I can’t accept these, [Y/N]. I’m afraid that I do not enjoy them all that much. Please gift them to someone who will truly be able to accept them wholeheartedly.”

-When you explain to him that they are specifically filled with apple and nut milk pie filling, his serious expression melts. 

“Forgive me for jumping to conclusions. These are especially thoughtful. Would you like to eat these with me? There is a particular hill I think that would make a fine place for a picnic.”

-He does have a gift for you that he crafted himself, but he’d rather give it to you once sitting among the flowers looking out over the beautiful scenery. 

Pandreo 

-Pandreo would take the chocolate and immediately start praying for thanks that you would give him a beautiful gift like this. 

“Bless you, [Y/N]. May your kindness be returned to you ten-fold.”

-He of course invites you to his Valentines party in return. Normally he would go around to other people, but even in the crowd, his attention never leaves you. 

“I can’t wait to party with you till the sun comes up, [Y/N].” 

-During the party, he sings you a song that he wrote specifically for you.

Alcryst isn’t sure if the resemblance to Rafal is strong enough, but seeing that Fell Dragon act so polite to this women—so unlike his usual self—is enough for him to guess this might be Nel.

That she’s in Poe’s good graces eases Alcryst’s nerves a bit. But, agh, how does he introduce himself? You‘ve probably met me before… yeah, like that’s a conversation starter. Are you Rafal’s sister? Now Alcryst just sounds like a creep!

Maybe he should bring her some food as a peace offering. Alcryst doesn’t realize he’s staring at her, lost in thoughts of pastries and cheese cubes.

even those eyes, too, are red— like his elder brother's as well— houndish, in the way they watched and craved. and here there is a note of something the same. curtained behind a crouching timidity now, a gentle exterior. diamant spoke well of him ; when they had conversed, he had been stunned to hear that another alcryst had been capable of such unbroken ambition.

she knows those eyes the same as she had known them in her own kin : the ones who cowered wordless beneath their father's rule, and bore whitened, sharpened fangs behind their desperation made decisive.

"little prince," she finally greets, breaking his uncertain and lingering watch, and their mutual silence. "you have been standing there for some time."

I can't make them go away, but... at the very least, you know you're not alone.

Alcryst has a fair handful of dialogue and conversations that have him trying to help others from a place of understanding. I'd like to think that he's very in touch with his own feelings and vulnerabilities and can recognize them in others.

* What he struggles with, and where the asterisk comes in, is empathy for the enemies. In Brodia, having empathy for the enemy can potentially weaken your resolve when the time comes to kill them—in the worst scenario, it could result in your death, or the deaths of others. Alcryst tries to turn his empathy off, resulting in an effective archer that's described to be merciless towards the enemy, who passionately objects to Ivy joining the team despite her initial attempts to make peace.

With Diamant trying to shift Brodia's culture towards peace rather than war, Alcryst wants to unlearn that mentality. It's a struggle, but he's genuinely trying.

I have officially watched all of rosado's supports and some of them in Japanese, and it is incredible how they just didn't translate some parts? I need a transcript to confirm, but I'm pretty sure rosado uses 中性 to describe his townsfolk... that means gender neutral, literally the kanji for medium/middle + sex/gender

he also specifically mentions cutesy men and cool women, confirming people from his village are not just cute but in general showcase different types of beauty, regardless of gender (and yes! he also says the "regardless of gender" part in Japanese too! I love him sm)

there's also the first support with louis which I think is really funny because the ENGLISH VERSION JUST REMOVED TJE PART WITH "EVEN THOUGH I'M A BOY????" LMFAO

I imagine because they thought it was offensive or something? but I think it makes sense, fogado said to celine the firenese appear unsociable and closed off to those from other lands, closed off being the key word here

Emblem Ike Dialogue Analysis.

Been working on this slowly over time. Going through his bond conversations with different characters and comparing against my headcanon. Apart from them having him talk way too much about eating meat dishes there's nothing that really stands out to me as against my own headcanons.

Other than that, my favorite parts are counting how many times he mentions people from his games and in what context!

Of course the most common mention is his father, who comes up 6 times. He is mentioned in Alcryst's bond convo, where he sympathizes with Alcryst feeling inadequate next to Diamant and compares it to his own feeling of chasing after his father's reputation. He also mentions him in his Diamant bond conversation by mentioning his father trained him. Diamant then goes on to express his own insecurities about living up to his own father, Ike is the perfect sounding board for that.

Other than those mentions, Greil is mentioned with Kagetsu, Seadall, Saphir, and Madeline.

Shinon comes up twice. Once is a casual mention in Kagetsu's bond chain, the other is Ike making a direct comparison between Shinon and Rafal due to the chip on Rafal's shoulder.

Mist is mentioned only once but it is a cute moment where Ike compares Jean to her and says that he admires healers.

Other than that, Soren, Titania, and Makalov get very brief mentions (the former two for their combat skills and the third when Jade prompts him for a strange character for inspiration for her book).

Beneath the cut are some of the miscellaneous topics he discusses and how they relate to my hcs:

First of all the recurring mention of him eating meat got very old very fast. That is part of what made me drag my feets somewhat on writing this out. I don't know why they decided that was his sole character trait. I think he only mentions it a few times in PoR and RD and even then it is definitely only when food is already brought up.

I digress. Timerra and Merrin bring it up a lot on their own so it makes sense Ike gets involved when they do.

His bond conversation with Seadall is really interesting to me not only because they bond over those who taught them all they know and have since passed on but because Seadall's dancing gets one of the rarest Ike compliments of all: he calls the way Seadall moves beautiful and clearly admires him a lot. This is interesting because Ike is so rarely shown taking an interest in the arts. I like the idea that if he had the space to slow down a little bit he would be appreciative of performance and music and I like that this helps me fully form that.

With many characters he discusses training and the desire to get better. A few times he explicitly mentions that he trains alone and has a hard time training with others but often expresses a willingness to do so anyway.

He and Céline have very similar philosophies.

With Rosado and Panette he discusses having no manners or etiquette. I like that this never changes. A few people who are respectful of Emblems at large (Clanne and Framme, Pandreo, Alcryst) call him "Lord Ike" and he doesn't correct them. Most just call him Ike.

This one just made me laugh. Goldmary never change.

-Alcryst is constantly surprised that you would want him sexually. He feels inadequate, inexperienced, and idiotic whenever he tries to initiate anything. It doesn't help that when he wants you, he gets extreamly bashful.

Etie is a very disciplined person—particularly self-disciplined.

She maintains a deep dedication to her training, no matter how demanding or difficult it gets, and is diligent in her duties as a retainer, as well as her study of bodybuilding. She's the sort of person to dive headfirst into whatever her current goal is, never turning away from it until she's gotten what she wants out of it.

But even though Etie is self-disciplined, good at holding herself accountable for her own training, or mistakes she's made and offenses she's caused other people (once she realizes she's made them), I think her upbringing as a noble played a large part in the discipline she carries herself with.

Etie: Out of all my siblings, my parents were strictest with me. I used to worry they hated me. Sigurd: They expected much because they saw much potential. You learned discipline from this, yes? Etie: Well, they gave me a body to run with, and running is how I ease my mind. So there’s that. Sigurd: Naturally, parents wish to protect their children. The reasons may elude the child, however.

In her A bond with Sigurd, Etie mentions that her parents raised her much more strictly than her older siblings, so much so to the point that she believed her parents hated her. Sigurd points out that this is what taught her discipline. I've also been looking into Etie's lines and information in the JPN text recently, and found an interesting detail in her Ally profile.

While both languages mention her having an older brother and sister, the JPN text specifies that her siblings are many more years older than her. In other words, a notable age gap. The wording used is similar to what Alcryst uses when he talks about his own age difference with Diamant (eight years, according to code), so I assume it may be a similar situation with Etie and her older siblings.

She is from a distinguished family, and the daughter of a marquis. Her family seems to have a close relationship with the royals, which is why she was able to grow up with Alfred and Celine, and would no doubt hold their family's reputation to a very high standard.

I believe Etie's view of her parents is rooted in truth, but also a colored perception. Sigurd's response ("the reasons may elude the child") only hammers in this assumption for me. It's not that she was necessarily raised more strictly than her siblings, but that she may have been too young to really remember or KNOW how her siblings might have been raised, because of how much older they are.

The brother was no doubt raised to take up the family's estate (much like Chloe's older brother), and Etie's sister was likely raised with those same Firene standards of elegance and domesticity, expected in noblewomen.

You can even see hints of that in Etie's own behavior. In the JPN version, she has an EXTREMELY polite and formal way of speaking, her animations are the same ones used for more elegant characters (like Ivy), and despite her unconventional interest in bodybuilding, Etie is very much a product of her highbrow environment. Now imagine her sister, who is probably the same, but without the love of muscle.

Having such older (and likely well-established) siblings, there were probably expectations put on Etie that her parents may have wanted her to meet, and her straying from their conventional view of a noblewoman added to the pressure.

But the magic of Etie is that she took that discipline, and instead of crumbling under the pressure, channeled it into something purposeful and positive: her passion for self-improvement, through exercise and training.

"...shit! Holy shit!" Alcryst sees a body drop in the distance, a shadow shaped vaguely like a man—an Elusian mage. Behind him Rutile laughs in disbelief, shocked delight, "No way!" His friend's hand roughly grabs his shoulders and shakes him frantically, joyously. "No way!! You bagged the guy!"

Alcryst freezes. For a young boy who has always been compared to Diamant, for whom praise is usually given with some kind of qualifier thrown in, this cheer and celebration for something he did is practically foreign. He keeps waiting for that but moment: Diamant would have done it better, he would not have hesitated a moment before the shot. It never comes. Only glory. Triumph. An unquestionable victory.

Heavier footsteps come behind them, then his cousin Sterling's annoyed rebuke. "Stop all your shouting, soldier. You're so loud you'll wake up the Divine Dragon— what the hell are you even shooting at?"

Rutile speaks up first, "Alcryst shot an enemy soldier! From 200 meters!"

"...Don't pull my leg, man."

"Just look!" Sterling is given a telescope, Alcryst scrambles for one as well. He sees his target, what was his target, lay unmoving on the unpaved road with a single arrow sticking out of their chest. Then,

"Two more coming in," Sterling reports. "Checking on their friend, most likely."

Alcryst hands off the telescope to Rutile before readying his bow once more. Blood roars in his ears. There's an unmistakable thrill in his heart that compels him to draw another arrow. And yet, for all of energy and excitement going on around him, Alcryst finds his mind quiet, focused on the task at hand.

Two arrows loose in fairly quick succession. Moments later, an uproar surrounds him.

"Are you kidding me! Are you fucking kidding me!" Rutile hollers.

Other men come up to the scene, "What's with all the noise!"

"Alcryst smoked three guys from 200 meters!"

As more and more people joined the celebration, Sterling pulls his cousin into his arms and ruffles his hair, shaking him, "Cos! Who knew a kid like you was a stone-cold killer all this time!"

"Amazing, Alcryst!"

"Three of them at that distance? Incredible!"

The sight of that vague figure goes forgotten as Alcryst is surrounded by praise, warm affection, smiles. Alcryst can't help but grin and laugh as the others begin to chant his name. Mother and Father will be so proud!

Wait till Diamant hears this!
