Really scratched up but he didn't lose any teeth or anything, and he got up and tried to laugh it off.. But! Um! I think it worked out for him, too, because she was willing to trade numbers with him, after! I dunno how well they've been talking, though..I haven't really asked her about it, since.. "

ㅤㅤAh -- right, there were supposed to be drinks with this, too, right? Her experience with alcohol wasn't exactly....great, but.. It wasn't supposed to be terrible when it was mixed in with juices and stuff, so..? She's taking a sip..!

I won't embarrass them a second time, here, so I apologize if you were looking forward to a story.. Embarrassing or not, however, we all may do things that we look back on with varying amounts of humility or regret.. Feeling such things only means we have changed from those experiences though, right..? We continually grow and develop.. It's a wonderful thing, don't you think..?       She couldn’t know how her attentiveness bothered him, but she’d certainly been noticing a thing or two about the blue blur--things she was somewhat familiar with. For now it was only able to be labeled as suspicions of hers, but if she could get him to talk about it--even if just a little, maybe she could conclude those suspicions. 

“Ya just..had one’a them looks, ya’know? Tha kinda look in ya eyes like ya had somethin’ heavy weighin’ on ya mind. If ya need ta get somethin’ off’a it, I can be all ears for ya..?”

      Of course, she couldn’t force anything out of him--she wouldn’t try. If he didn’t want to talk, there wasn’t much she could do.

      This was absolutely the best idea she’d ever had. The first time she’d seen advertisements for a casino that was offering half prices on its drinks for the holiday season were tempting enough, but with the added hope of not spending New Year’s alone as well as maybe finding someone who either wanted to be nice or really wanted to try their luck away from the slots -- well, how could she keep away, then? Her curiosity && patience had rewarded her, this time -- the drinks really weren’t bad, && her first few rounds ended up being free, thanks to a guy who’d had a little too much and was feeling a little too generous. 

      That was four hours ago.

      “ THHREE! TWO! ONE! ” The hangover that was going to hit her the next morning was sure to be an atrocious one. It was good thing, then, that she’d made sure to stock up on foods && drinks that would surely make it just a little less so. At least the bartender had cut her off, by now -- && was kind enough to have someone call a taxi for her. She’ll probably only make it to her couch or the bathroom floor, but at least she’d have a better chance of making it home, now.

      Normally, she wasn’t one for sweets..but whatever Amy had might just change her views. She’d originally planned to just try one, but that plan was completely ditched after tasting it. Now there was an empty box of sweets in front of her, and a rather angry hedgehog interrogating her for it.

🍕 = What is your muse’s usual pizza order? Do they order any drinks, sides, or desserts to go with it?

      Lykoi usually goes for really simple flavors, with only a few toppings–white cheese with pepperoni is her favorite, so far. If she gets any sides or anything to go with it, it depends on if she’ll have people to share the pizza with. If she doesn’t, the most she’ll get is maybe a side of breadsticks. If she does, she’ll get at least one from each category, just to make sure everyone has plenty to eat.

📚 = What is your muse’s favorite genre of books? What are some of their favorite authors and/or books?

      When she was younger, Lykoi liked to read the fantasy kind of stories, especially if they were long enough to have multiple books. She was also interested in series that played around the apocalyptic genre, like Susan Beth Pfeffer’s Life as We Knew It. After the end of the world basically almost happened, though, she’s shied away from the genre, but will sometimes look at semi-dystopia genres like the Divergent series.

Oh, jeez–was he listening in? Was there any chance he’d hear this? She looks around before leaning closer to the one who asked her, keeping her voice down as much as she could.

“Tha guy has his ups and downs, positives and negatives–like anyone does. He’s a big grump, an’ prolly still ain’t forgiven me for accidentally hittin’ him with a snowball tha’ one time, but..”

“Tha guy at least has a heart. I ain’t known him for long, but from what I can tell, he’s tha kinda guy tha’ would take care’a his friends, when he makes ‘em. At least..I think so..I hope so..’less I’m readin’ things wrong. Wouldn’t be tha first time.”

“…He’s nice around kids, though. So, that’s a good thing..”

“…Only main downside, I think, is his drivin’. He seems real happy with tha bike he got, but ah..don’t ride with him unless ya got full protective gear, or ya ready ta go at damn near warpin’ speeds–shit’s scary.”

“……Ya’know, I remember what I was doin’ tha day Doctor Eggman defeated Sonic–when tha war really started. I remember I was runnin’ late for a shift..I didn’t have tha shirt I needed, an’ had ta wait for it ta dry. Ashley scolded me pretty rough, tha’ day..but tha rest of it was regular. Joanna an’ her dad came in, same time as usual, ordered the regular–steak an’ fries an’ a chicken basket, no salt, no sauce. Missus Debbie an’ her crew stopped by, sat an’ talked a while..”

“Everythin’ was normal until someone pointed out tha news. People were bein’ evacuated because of an attack from Eggman. I remember seein’ tha list of cities that were bein’ evacuated, the current casualty count, the estimations, an’ tha report tha’ not only were officials workin’ ta help citizens, but Sonic was on his way.”

“I got ta witness tha report when he lost ta some new weapon of tha Doc’s--when he was taken, unconscious, an’ Eggman got ta continue an’ finish what he started with ease. I remember tha live broadcast endin’ real quickly after tha’.”

“……I remember..callin’ my mom..ta figure out if she was among those who were able ta escape. Tha’ was her city tha’ was first attacked, ya’know? …She never answered. It’s almost been a year, now. I never got a call or a text–nothin’. I knew, then..I know, now. She’s gone.”

“……I wonder if there’s somethin’ wrong with me, sometimes.. ‘Cause I never grieved her.. I’ll get sad when I think about her, yeah, an’ I’ll cry, sometimes, but… She was all I ever had..my only family.. but I never grieved her…”

“Okay, so this one time, right? This was back when I was still livin’ with my mom.. I didn’t like tha attic–don’t know exactly why, don’t know if it was just too creepy or if it was actually full-on haunted, or what, I just couldn’t stand bein’ in it or near it.”

“Well, she has this spiral staircase, an’ it’s the only way ta get up to tha attic, besides a pull-down staircase in tha hall. An’ I had ta get somethin’ from up there, an’ I was reachin’ through tha bars of the stairway ta get it. Well, I get tha thing, an’ I don’t bother luggin’ it down tha hard way, I just toss it over the stair railin’. Wasn’t heavy or breakable, so it was fine. Mom thought it was me hittin’ tha ground, though, so she gets up and comes bustin’ outta her room..but when she did, it sounded like somethin’ was comin’ out tha attic. So, I freak out, an’ throw my own damn self over tha railin’–for real, this time. Landed straight–” she gives a loud clap of her hands to emphasize this.. “–flat on my back.”

“I was winded for a bit, but once I could breathe, I couldn’t stop laughin’.. I used ta joke about it a lot with her.. It was kinda like an’ inside joke..just between us..”
