ㅤㅤEars flick back and brow scrunches further at the ever-unwanted nickname and threat of humiliation. He knows the hedgehog is right -- enough comments about what Scourge apparently did with Adonis' mother was enough to rile him up, most times. In a strange way, however, it was also doing..something to how Adonis did feel about his mother. Knowing what he knew about her 'love,' whatever the hedgehog was getting out of her..it likely wasn't something the maned wolf truly wanted.

ㅤㅤIn any other situation, he wouldn't have believed the words coming from the tyrant. He had no reason here to lie, however -- it served no purpose, offered nothing for him to gain. In this instance, perhaps..keeping him to his word would prove worth it.

ㅤㅤA frown stretches onto his muzzle at his offer for the potential future, however. Gaze directs away as he huffs a sigh through his nose. " I know -- can't, though. Not from you. Promised I wouldn't. " A shame they hadn't been at a point where such an offer could be made, before now.

( @omniversentertwined -- Adonis ) He didn't actually want to be here. He didn't want to stand in the same space -- breathe the same air -- as the rat that managed to pick at such specific nerves, every time they were within speaking distance. Especially not after their last encounter, with the warning that had to be passed onto him by the girl he so deeply cherished. Even now, the implication that the tyrant had never once meant echoed in his mind, begging him to make the much smaller hedgehog pay for daring to speak them. Remove his tongue so such insulting words could never be uttered, again. He was vulnerable, now -- mortal, now -- it would be so. much. easier. But he'd made a promise. Fists are clenched tightly and jaw is tight. A final breath through his nose, and he speaks. " The--... Ellen, and Cynic -- I'll stay away. Won't see me, won't hear from me. I give my word. " it would really be better, in the long run, wouldn't it -- for all parties involved? He was absolutely losing, here..but if it kept that from happening again, kept her from having to experience it, again.. ...Her... " ...Never speak that way of Azure, again. "

When Adonis first approaches, Scourge is initially ready to throw out a volley of insults and mockery while taking a fighting stance and getting ready to dodge several potentially fatal blows. But... the wolf shows uncharacteristic restraint, and maintains it long enough that Scourge begins to relax his stance.

Azure... the name's unfamiliar to him. It takes a second for him to piece it together, but when he does, Scourge snaps his fingers and grins. "Oh, the girl you were with? Won't utter a word about her, cross my heart Donny. Not like I don't have plenty of other ways to humiliate ya."

He's pushing it with that last line, he knows. But he intends to abide by their little arrangement. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, he rocks back on his heels. The maned wolf had left him limping and fleeing in their first fight, and their last encounter was only such a one sided beat-down in Scourge's favor because he'd been in super form.

...could he be trusted to leave them alone? He wasn't sure. You can't trust anyone, really. But Scourge knew enough to tell that Adonis was straight forward in every action he took. And with the cause of their conflict gone, as far as Scourge was concerned, this was an opportunity. "I'm holding ya to it that you leave those two alone... after all, if you're ever lookin' for a fight, I ain't hard to find."

Really scratched up but he didn't lose any teeth or anything, and he got up and tried to laugh it off.. But! Um! I think it worked out for him, too, because she was willing to trade numbers with him, after! I dunno how well they've been talking, though..I haven't really asked her about it, since.. "

ㅤㅤHe was not happy to be here.

ㅤㅤHe'd already had to stick to roughly gripping the railing on the deck -- despite how little the waves really moved the ship, he could just barely feel the shifting of his weight from side to side. It was...very unpleasant. He didn't feel like he had balance or control, here -- like it didn't matter how strong he was, this ship held his life in its nonexistent hands. It was the only thing keeping him from a watery grave, so..perhaps that was actually true.

ㅤㅤThe thought doesn't settle him in the slightest.

ㅤㅤBeyond that, he knows he overheard the shouts of what had to be children -- unsupervised, it sounded like. Ugh...he'd just have to avoid them. He had to do better -- he couldn't let this become an issue.

ㅤㅤ...Maybe it would be best to focus on literally anything else on this ship. He's going searching for a distraction.

ㅤㅤThe building..? A low hum is given as the maned wolf's gaze drifts. Which one, exactly? He didn't really pay attention to what was above or around him -- not unless he felt like he needed to. Danger for him wasn't something he cared nearly as much about as danger for one very specific other person..

ㅤㅤ...Actually, where was she, right now? He was pretty sure she'd stayed at their camp, today..so really, she could be just about anywhere.. Hnn..hopefully she hadn't strayed too far into the woods, by herself -- the thought of her potentially getting anywhere near a single cliff already has him antsy enough to want to start very quickly heading back.
