shadow fans are either some of the chillest mfs out there, or the most insane, and sometimes they are both. i hate takes on shadow that make him cruel and mean and intentionally rude and i feel like a lot of people who see him that way/depict him that way are actually just projecting their own nastiness onto shadow and just use him as a mouthpiece. and i can say this, because i've interacted with these type of shadow fans before! and they're even more unpleasant OOC!!

i think we've reached a general consensus that shadow isn't just mean, he's just jaded and probably super autistic so a lot of the way he comes off can be read that way - but it's the people who intentionally make him mean and callous and weirdly passive aggressive with the soul intention of using him as an excuse to be mean to others that i can't stand.

Cloudburst assaults his mess of fiery-hued tangles, forcing him to take refuge beneath the nearest awning. Structurally ancient, stony— and seemingly abandoned. Based on its decrepit appearance, at least.

— ;; Lours from vaguely familiar denizens are enough to make him abandon the darkened streets splotched with gelid puddles, slipping into the tenebrous quiet behind him without much of a second thought. Trespassing, breaking and entering, violating private property— jeez, abandoned or not, he’s made himself very welcome very quickly, wringing out his jacket in the doorway as he tries to warm up.

Which probably isn’t the nicest thing for the homeowner to stumble into.

Shadow might not like Scourge (but then again, who did?) or find him particularly interesting (he'd save that contemplative energy for Sonic proper, thanks) but he does have to give the green lookalike credit where credit is due. He stares firmly at the other for a minute, eyes squinting just a fraction as they come to settle on Scourge's sunglasses.

"Nice shades." Beat. "I'll have to take them from you sometime." Obviously Shadow should have a pair of red shades, they go with his quills!

(i never made an infinite banner and i probably never will-) @scumbag-the-hedgehog sent: "P-put me down…." The usurper's eyes are wide, barely concealing the fear behind those shades. Everything around him is a sickening red, the kind of red that feels like it's intruding on the natural spectrum of light, eating away at all the other color around it. Through the crimson light he can see an eye peeking out from that mask, glaring at them as some strange force holds Scourge up by the throat. He has to wonder how long he can keep himself collected.

"Come now, you were speaking such grandeur but moments ago." Hand idly aloft, the jackal kept Scourge above the ground. How easy it was to deal with speedsters when the friction they were so reliant on was deprived from them.

It would be a lie to say that, for the briefest moment, Infinite had mistaken this one for the blue blur himself, however-

"No, you're practically shaking like some sopping wet mongrel on the street."

Instead of releasing Scourge outright, he instead lifted him higher, grip only loosening as cannon materialized to drop Scourge into. It clicked, aiming downward to launch him directly into the earth below them.

"To think you even dared speak out of turn to me, just to be so quick to beg."

Amy insists they're not all that bad, just a little rough around the edges. Some of the others say differently, but two facts remain — one, there are precious few others in this world who started in another one, and two, this guy looks so much like the brother she's far from. It makes it — weird to look at him. The universe would put her in a world with a Sonic that doesn't know her and a Manic - lookalike that's probably evil. That would be how this worked out.

Sonia sighs, bangs falling over her eyes when his meet them. "Hah, sorry for staring. I'm, uh — you look a lot like another green punk I knew a while back. It's a little weird."

Hearing the insistent buzzing of her cellphone, Amy paused the watering of her plants. Huh. Who could be lighting up her notifications today, she wonders?

Reaching over for the device she unlocks it and proceeds to check her messages, only to promptly drop it on plush carpet with a comical 'EEP!' — a hand goes to cover her mouth, muzzle once again burning as she recalls the events that had taken place last week. She almost managed to burry that whole interaction in the back of her mind, after going a few days of not hearing back she figured maybe he was just too put off by the hammer. Understandable, too. She couldn't blame him for that. She was ready to just put the whole thing behind her and move on.

So she's a little surprised by this. Especially when it's apparent that Scourge is expressing interest in... hanging.. out? ( is this a proposal to go out on a date???? )

The girl paces away from her phone and into the kitchenette, head in hands as she's totally started overthinking it. She paces back and forth on smooth tile for a good long several minutes, until eventually she stops and bangs both hands on the counter with a huff.

" Okay. Relax, Amy. You can do this. You can text a random guy back who hit on you last week that kinda looks a lot like Sonic but you also nearly pulverized because you were too embarrassed. You can.. do that. Because you're Amy Rose, and Amy Rose isn't afraid! "

Returning back to the cellular device, she tentatively takes a seat on her living room carpet and reunlocks the phone, pulling the messages back up. She wastes no time in saving the number as a contact, before... deep breath... responding back.

Amy🌹 is typing...

...Does she accept? Well, she gave him her number. There'd be no point in that if she didn't follow through, right?

[to: Scourge]: I'm open to it!! There's a nice little cafe here in Station Square if you wanted to meet up there? [to: Scourge]: Does like.. an hour sound okay?
