      She does believe in a couple of superstitions, such as knocking on wood to avoid jinxing oneself. She also believes in a few of the “luck superstitions” such as “avoid walking under ladders or breaking mirrors” or “finding a penny on heads and picking it up can bring good luck.” These are really just the common ones you hear every day, so she’s heard them since she was a kitten.

      Tea, for sure. Depending on the type of tea, she’ll add some amounts of cream and sugar, or none at all. Black teas receive a dash of cream and three cubes, while some fruit teas will receive one cube or none at all. Occasionally, she’ll also use honey as a replacement for sugar. She can take her tea either hot or cold, depending on the time of day or the weather conditions. If in the morning, or when it’s cold or raining, she’ll drink hot tea. In the afternoon, or when it’s dry, humid, or hot and sunny, she’ll drink iced tea.

      Lykoi usually goes for really simple flavors, with only a few toppings–white cheese with pepperoni is her favorite, so far. If she gets any sides or anything to go with it, it depends on if she’ll have people to share the pizza with. If she doesn’t, the most she’ll get is maybe a side of breadsticks. If she does, she’ll get at least one from each category, just to make sure everyone has plenty to eat.

      When she was younger, Lykoi liked to read the fantasy kind of stories, especially if they were long enough to have multiple books. She was also interested in series that played around the apocalyptic genre, like Susan Beth Pfeffer’s Life as We Knew It. After the end of the world basically almost happened, though, she’s shied away from the genre, but will sometimes look at semi-dystopia genres like the Divergent series.

      She was going to go out in the world and make a difference--put herself in danger to save other people! She was finally feeling brave enough to play the part of the hero, and she was going to make a very special blue hedgehog proud!

      ...

      She didn’t know who she was trying to convince with lies like that. Certainly not herself--especially not after hiding underneath this bridge at the first sight of a small group of robots. She was nothing more than a cowardly kitten, and no amount of pep talks were ever going to get her out of that--not when she was alone, not when she didn’t have anything truly driving her to act.. She’d flinched with a gasp at the first sound of something (or, rather, someone) hitting metal, curling into herself until things were all quieted down. At hearing a voice, she hesitantly stood from her hiding space, peeking out over the planks at the mystery person..

“S-So, ya got ‘em all? It’s safe ta come out? Were they..really jus’ easier than they looked?” ..Wait a minute..she couldn’t really tell from where she was, but she felt as though.. “...Ain’t we met?”

Scourge whistled as he kicked a robot’s head off into the distance, watching it sail across the sky before smacking into the green hill and rolling off. Damn, these robots were even bigger pushovers than most universe’s! He practically just had to poke the damn things. Regardless, the hedgehog picked up one of the Anarchy Beryl that had fallen out of his jacket’s inner pockets. He really needed to get zippers for the damn things…

“At this rate, I’m feelin’ a little ripped off..” he murmured to himself, kicking the deactivated husks as he glanced about. Guess it was more strength in numbers.

      Speaking to this entity wasn’t giving her any hope--this wasn’t the way to get him out. Sonic had to be in there, somewhere. If he could fight against it, maybe they could push it back--get it out. Get him back.

“Sonic--ya..you’re in there, right? Can ya hear me? We’re here, we’re all here--I-I don’t know what happened, but ya gotta fight it! Ya gotta fight it, so we can get ya back--please!”

      She didn’t know how to do this--what was she supposed to say, how was she supposed to help him? Trembling in her legs, she makes hesitant steps forward. What could she do? How could she get him to hear her, to fight back?

“We need ya here, Sonic--we all need ya!”

He let out a michievous grin, a little chuckle. It was so obvious he was acting differently, as if he was a completely different person. His grin almost seemed sadistic.

Dark tipped his feet on the ground.

“ωєℓℓ, тнαт вℓυє ι∂ισт мιgнт ησт вє ƒєєℓιηg ωєℓℓ, вυт ι’м ρєяƒє¢тℓу αмαzιηg.”

      That blue idiot? Something really was wrong--worse than she thought. This wasn’t even really Sonic, was it? The way he spoke--or, it spoke--it was almost like this was some creature that had taken over his body, using him like a puppet. Was that the case--was it really something as horrible as that?

“...What did you...”

      Her heart pounds in her chest and her ears, which flit back as her teeth grind together. How did this happen? How was she going to help him? She had to do something..

“What did you do with him?! Give him back!”

      If this was some kind of possession, Sonic must still be in there. She had to get him out--she had to figure out how to make this thing let go of him..

      ‘I feel perfectly fine~’ a part of her was annoyed with this response--the smallest part jotting it down as the same old song and dance she was used to hearing from him. No matter what he was feeling, no matter what was bothering him, he always pretended it was fine, he was fine, nothing was wrong. It didn’t matter who could see past that--and when they could, he’d brush it off and run away.

“No..that..you don’t..”

      There wasn’t any point in confronting him about it. His response was always going to be the same--nothing she could do would change that. Something was certainly different about him, now--aside from the obvious external changes. The fur along her tail bristles more as her nerves are played with, and the situation begins to make her feel uneasy. For a few seconds, she’s unable to find any words, but her voice eventually rings clear.

“When are ya gonna stop lyin’ ta me? Somethin’s obviously wrong--y’ain’t normally like this! Please, tell me what happened..an’ be honest about it..”

      The sudden, soft thud was enough to make her jump, on its own. Not seeing anything behind her, though, she’d at first settled down–that is, until she looked down.

      She really didn’t want to have to do this--her objective was fine, she didn’t mind what she’d be having to do. Having to stay with and potentially have to interact with other people, though..that much made her somewhat reluctant to take on this mission. Still, it was either this, or acceptance of the charges and the sentencing that would surely follow them. This was probably the best deal she could have been cut.

      Her brow creases and the end of her tail lashes once or twice at the other feline’s clear impatience with her--a part of her began to wonder if she was fond of this development, either. Sighing out a simple, “Fine,” she exits the shuttle, hands clutching at her bent elbows. Golden eyes glance at her new surroundings as she waited for the arrival of her new “shipmates.”
