what is the best owl house fic you have ever read? Can you rec?

I'm afraid I can't say what's the single best owl house fic I have ever read. A) because I am a terribly indecisive person and there are lots of awesome and different fics. And B) (I am actually a bit ashamed to admit it) I haven't been able to do much fic reading lately, even though my "To read later" tag is more than full. I do plan on focusing on that tho.

However I can give a couple recommendations:

You're the light in my starry night by Norawrites/@witch128chick. It's a fic written mostly from Amity's perspective and basically tells the events of the show from her point of view. If you like Amity and her relationship with Luz, this is the fic for you.

Reasoning with crazy by Yogurthoops. This one's for the Belos fans. Where Luz and Belos talk to each other through crow phones, each unaware of who the other really is.

A night like this by serotonin_exe. This is an oneshot and it's very true to the writer's name. A big serotonin boost, in which Hunter spends a night at the Owl House.

My name is Hunter by bluelove22. That was one of the first TOH fics I ever read. It's basically a Hunter-focused canon divergence that starts from the ending of Eclipse lake.

A moment of peace and a confession of love by Nostalgicbee. Another oneshot, this one's dedicated to Lumity and it's incredibly adorable.

Once I do some more fic reading, I'll reblog this again with additions.

Nora. She's... she sure is.

She's clever, you can see that from the Orphanage attack. She's a little like Ross in that she doesn't think to distrust the Guild until Amelie reveals herself to be lying. I had a lot of fun with her in Hope's Renegades - but she spent most of her time trying to figure out the truth.

I think it's easier for her to make the decision than Ross, once she gets all the information. She can just decide. Bird primary (I say knowing full well no-one understands what I mean so have a link)

There's this one line from her atop the Tower that I really like, lemme find it...

"The Guild was built to serve both humans and Nexomon. It is clear that they strayed from their path long ago."

Nora sees what's happening here, cuts straight to the chase, and declares herself on the protagonist's side. Good for her! Good for her.

I also think all five of them atop the tower were just really awesome. That was a really cool moment. Favourite moment, definitely.

It took me a while to answer this one because I feel like I should have more to say about Nora? Given she's one of the protagonists of my fic.

Anyway, what song would you say if your Boss Music? I personally like "Beginning Of The End" by Spineshank, "Nightmare" by Avenged Sevenfold, or "Not Of This Earth" by Dance With The Dead, for mine.

I imagine my boss fight to be equal parts gross, weird, and cosmically horrifying.

Oh. Hmm...well...never really found any particular song to be my boss theme. But if I had to choose:

Either "Thunderhorse" by Dethklok, because I would only be a boss fight if I was seeking revenge for someone (or myself). Also I'd certainly hope a horse is involved in my boss fight.

Or "I'm Not An Animal" by The Blind Shake, because....eh....I just like listening to it. Also I am mean to myself, so hearing "I'm not incredible" has me like '....yeah. Lol Same. I suck.'

But in all seriousness, as a nerdy gamer, my boss themes would be:

"Fighting Against a Somewhat Stronger Monster" from Super Mario RPG (original and remake). Totally not me getting hyped about its release coming next week.

Hey there! I'm doing good. Waiting for act 2 of Arcane and trying to survive college. Now, let's get to these questions! I'm doing both ships because, why not?

Starting with Lumity!

5. Describe their cozy night in.

I imagine cozy nights in are one of their favorite things to do together, probably their preferred date too. They definitely take the warmest, coziest blanket in the house, make themselves comfortable on the couch and watch Azura movies with warm drinks, while cuddling together.

7. Would they build a pillow fort together just because?

Oh they absolutely would! And while in there they would take flashlights and books and read together!

19. How do they feel about PDA?

I think they would be okay with it. I mean, when they become a couple in the show they are very openly affectionate with each other, giving each other little kisses, holding hands, hugging.

33. Who’s the better cook?

Amity. No question. She makes all kinds of sweets and desserts (I headcanon she's a great baker) and also loves cooking in general because the mixing of the ingredients reminds her of making abominations.

I imagine Luz would be a pretty good cook too, but she wouldn't be able to be left alone in the kitchen.

35. Who’s more artistic?

I don't know. Both of them are really creative and artistic, they both are shown to draw and pretty well too (the art Luz made for her laptop wallpaper is really beautiful!), but if I had to pick one, it would probably be Luz because she's also a writer. I imagine she shares her fanfics and original works with Amity, and she in turn draws pictures of the characters or the scenes she liked most.

You mean their every night?

Okay, seriously now, if (when) those two got together, they would spend every night just lying next to each other as close as possible under a big blanket. I also imagine that they'd keep the windows open, to hear the sound of the waves, both as a way to remind each of them that the other is right there with them and they're both home safe. (I probably made a fluff question angsty. Sorry 😅)

7. Would they build a pillow fort together just because?

Yep! Absolutely! Sora would suggest it most of the time, simply because pillow forts are fun and he likes them. Riku would suggest it in case Sora had a bad day as a way to cheer him up.

19. How do they feel about PDA?

Sora would be the one more possible to do it, holding Riku's hand a lot and hugging too and just be close in general. Riku wouldn't mind, but I get a feeling he'd get really blushy about it and he wouldn't be as open as Sora. I do believe he'd hold his hand a lot tho.

33. Who’s the better cook?

Sora. Kid learned how to cook under Remy, Little Chef himself! You can't tell me he wouldn't go all out about cooking for his boyfriend!

35. Who’s more artistic?

Again, probably Sora, but I am basing this one solely on vibes.

As some insidious, wise, clever people may have noticed, yes, things are going to take a while to bring full circle. Hence... it's going to be a painfully long time until our two favorite dorks are finally back with each other. At least, painfully long for us as readers, because technically it's going to be a little over a year since the end of Part 2 and their impending reunion in Part 3.

Which then leads me to reveal...

That Hotaru will be around six months old by the time Sokka finally meets her. It will be longer than any of us would wish, yes... but I expect this glimmer of hope might just be enough to tide you over until we get there (as a bonus... I'm actually about 2-3 arcs away from FINALLY writing the long-awaited full-blown reunion! Will be a while before I post it, of course, but still...)

uh songs. i think for practicing u probably want to find a slow bpm song. practicing fast is a crutch--most poi stuff looks best if done slowly. something i struggle with.

Tons of resources online that I'm sure you'll find, id definitely say see if you can find a flow arts/juggling/circus group irl bc it's so fun.

my big tip is just like keep at it, you will hit yourself and you'll spend weeks trying to master plane control and eventually through lots of practice it'll start to come naturally.

i feel like the progression i wish i did would be like, tuck/reel turns, butterflies, pendulums, 3 beat weave
