His eyes are open but he felt the tunneling darkness clouding his vision. He feel his fingers yet they refused to move. What madness did he drove into to be in such a state of slumber?

This isn't slumber.

This is dying. He's dying? Him who had brushed with death countless time is eactually finally meeting him?.

He couldnt....he can't.

He made a promise to his beloved Iris. He promised that he will be by her side at all times. Even if they try to get him in this state, his more rabbid side would just murder them all...

Even his voice was weak.

Gods, he hated this. He hated the fact that he was dying in this pathetic state..thats when she called his name.

In a flash, his world turned white, the void, where he stands, breathing, panting as he looks around to see a black-robed skeleton, scythe in one hand and a basket of flowers in another.

How dare he say that. Defiant till the end, Belmont glared down at this avatar of after-life and shook his head, reaching for his weapons. Of course, not here but he still wish to snub this being.

"No....I have someone I need to protect. Someone that gave me an opportunity to show what a better life, a better outlook. Someone that loves me an i love them in return."

Death was cut off when Belmont suckered punched him, dazing the avatar before grabbing its waist and giving him a suplex to show that this mortal man has a fighting spirit, one that cannot die so swiftly.

"NO! No deals. No catch! I will not be another puppet for as long as i continue to live and as long as Iris is alive. I swear to any beings, gods, devils, whatever else that created this shithole of the earth! I! WILL! GO! BACK TO HER!"

Shambling back up the cloaked figure begin to chuckle a bit, enjoying this spirit burning bright and wild, like a flame scorching a town.

"Very well...not every day someone like you comes kicking and screaming that actually harmed me."

A boney finger poked upon his forehead and...

It was husky, bearly a whisper but he begin to breathe, that cloudy and tunneling vision widen when his gaze focused on his beloved's face.

ever since i read that brook and sanji get up at 5 am, there's been two possibilities in my mind:

1. Brook gets up naturally at that hour and then Sanji starts to do it too because he's not gonna leave one of his crewmates without breakfast longer than necessary

2. Sanji already had the habit of waking up at 5 to start prepping breakfast and Brook gets up too to keep him company
