Hehehe, this is based off of a photo from Malice Mizer live, it’s Simon in place of Mana and Fuma in place of Gackt. Very fun pose to draw!!! Especially cause it’s a pose with a whip and also cause idk why but I find poses with one or both arms up pretty easy to draw. And yeah yay, Fuma inclusion yippie :3!

I don’t have any other explanation for why this exists other than dresses are cool. So I made him one :D. The coord has a half caplet that connects to a shoulder paldron on the other shoulder by chain with a little cross. Under that there’s a blouse and skirt combo with patterns similar to his SQ armor and some rose thorn patterns around the ends of the sleeves and collar. Over that is a corset and under is a cage crinoline made to look like crosses peaking around the edge. Shoes carry outfit motifs like the roses on the bow tie and headdress and the lace throughout. Also, an eyepatch with cross on it because yeah, cute :3. I’d probably wear this if I had uh any skill in sewing at all (TwT ).

A not chibi version of the above outfit! Except probably without the crinoline with how the skirt fabric is sitting lol. Tbh I think Simon would probably be fine with this for a little bit and then get uncomfortable about having so many layers on. I don’t think he’d like tights at all 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀. Hmmm I’ll have to draw a version of it that’d be more comfortable for him hmm maybe tomorrow.

Simon facing off against his worst enemy: stairs! This one was practice drawing characters in backgrounds, since I’m so rusty at actually drawing those two things together (ToT ). I can draw a separate background fine, but the second I have to put someone in it I just completely forget what I’m doing XD.

This one is also a practice! He’s running up to the altar in Drac’s basement. The lighting was fun for this one, but I forgot to draw the whip in his hand 💀.

This one was an attempt at drawing a skeleton and keeping the same proportions in a drawing of someone (Simon) who is uh not a skeleton. Fun fact! It took me like 5 tries to get the skeleton to not just look like Papyrus Undertale cause holy heck do the skeletons from that game take a hold of some part of your art style and never let go 💀💀💀💀

CASTLEVANIA JUDGEMENT HAS HATS??? AS LIKE AN UNLOCKABLE?????????? So obviously I had to draw Simon (x2) with the bow options. Pink probs looks really nice with his hair tbh. And the striped bow was black and white so it fits with the Judgement design’s outfit. If I ever actually play this game again (I suck so bad at it), I’ll be trying to get these for the very important reason of Simon cute. :3

Ok now these two. The first one was a different attempt at that Mana pose, but a bigger scale and a bit less exaggerated. I ended up having to do a ton of edits to it cause I kept making things too big or too small lol. And the second one is just a couple dynamic posing practices. They’re also excuses to draw more arm up poses cause they’re fun X3. He was just supposed to have like a generic placeholder rectangle er um uh there, but some of the sketchy lines ended up looking like what’s supposed to be in that spot, so I just didn’t wanna risk these being on main tags out in the open 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀. Though, tbh, I’ve seen more explicit things on the tags so eh, better safe than sorry tho (- w - )

Your skwistok duel rants have actually made me ship them. I've been rewatching the series and I'm starting to see more sparks than I did on my first couple watches. Any other big series moments that have you seeing more of their compatibility?

hmm well, tbh skwisgaar accepting toki into the band was what sold me out on skwistok for good. but it's exactly because it explained EVERYTHING for me. before watching dsr i liked skwistok but i was convinced it was a one-sided deal on toki's part. but once that we were shown that it was skwisgaar who welcomed him into dethklok, that it was skwisgaar and skwisgaar only who wanted him in it i was like oh shit...he loves him back....

so rewatching the series with this origin story in mind, made me see them under a new light, particularly when it came to skwisgaar. whereas before i saw skwisgaar being uncaring of toki, i was now realizing that he did care, he just had a shitty way of showing it. he's a tough love kinda guy. yet, he's still a bit possessive of him and pretty protective for his cold bitch standards.

but anyway for skwistok moments that i find important in no order:

skwisgaar's weird jealous tantrum when he walks into toki and his guitar teacher in dethlessons. it's fucking hysterical but i'm also fascinated with the way it's framed like toki is cheating on skwisgaar. which skwisgaar definitely thought, by the way. yes, he was worried about toki becoming better than him but imo he was also upset about toki having a guitar bond with anyone that wasn't him. and hey, after the duel? it makes total sense.

skwistok drunk driving and shooting at the beginning of dethrace. i've already talked about how funny it is to me that skwisgaar was doing that with toki but mostly i think it speaks miles about the both of them that they chose each other to go fuck around and break the law. like, these guys are actually close???

in the same vein, skwistok pranking murderface in prankklok. the way toki lies in skwisgaar's bed so comfortably, like he's been there soo many times that it's essentially his room too. his two little feet dangling in the air, silly laugh while listening to skwisgaar on the phone. it's so fucking cute they love each other's company so much

the infamous 'stop copies me' from dethcarraldo. not only does it send me to tears everytime but it showcases their competitive nature in a way that i find both endearing and cute. i mean, toki repeating everything skwisgaar says and refusing to acknowledge it??? and skwisgaar acting like an offended child about it?? these guys share the braincell, how can you ever separate them?

toki dressing up as skwisgaar in the dethklok tribute band. stealing his clothes. acting stupid when skwisgaar pointed it out. looking absolutely elated when he was called skwisgaar skwigelf in that shitty club. shit out of a fanfic i swear. and then not only that but skwisgaar being fine with being toki in the tribute band?? you guys get a room my god

toki hitting skwisgaar the most in doublebookedklok* considering charles said toki was hitting his bandmates cause he wanted their attention...does it mean he wants skwisgaar's attention the most? look, it might be obvious by this point but having the narrative acknowledge that toki not only idolizes skwisgaar but wants his attention...

the unforgettable, the iconic 'i'll sees you in vallhaska' scene from the s1 finale. i feel like it truly bares skwistok's dynamic to its core. skwisgaar unable to say goodbye properly, so he tells him he'll see him again. toki unable to admit how he really feels about skwisgaar so he says he hates him. skwisgaar smiling because he KNOWS that's not what toki really meant. peak romance right here

skwisgaar actually trying to save toki in bookklok. it's played for the laughs but i can't stop thinking of how skwisgaar genuinely thought toki was going to die and, despite toki essentially ruining his life, he didn't hesitate to run and try to save him. 'comes back to me toki' lives rent free in my mind like what the hell was that. what in the WORLD. was that. jesus christ. how could they end the ep like this really

the entirety of the staresdown. skwistok canon, i'm afraid

last but not least i'd say the entirety of army of the doomstar tbh. it might not be focused on skwistok but the skwistok moments we got out of it were GOLDEN. narrative wise i give a special shoutout to toki carrying skwisgaar on his back + giving him his guitar cause he knew skwis needed it. the amount of love and concern in here. that's his beautiful guitarist wife that he adores.

these are the big moments of the top off my head but really it is about the details with them. a lot of nuances in their relationship are kinda lost to the background because it's not their dynamic that carries the plot, so you just gotta focus on them haha. for example one of my subtle faves is toki going catatonic in dethfam and skwisgaar going 'what?? you're not talking to me??' because like. damn this bitch can't handle his little guy not talking to him for 5 seconds. talk about being codependent

10. Elise - Underwritten, but time has shown us that she wasn't a bad character. '06 wasn't her fault, and Sonic's utilization in the overall plot aside, I like their dynamic together. Her design is also very nice when it doesn't have to abide by the game's overt realism.

9. Shahra - I was indifferent to her for the longest time since aside from Erazor's abuse, I didn't think much about her otherwise. Then all of a sudden, I warmed up to her starting from last year, as I've grown to appreciate her friendship with Sonic... though TBH, I have the Toll Girl indoctrination to thank for this shift in perspective.

8. Marine - If you didn't say shit about Bunnie's accent, you're not allowed to complain about Marine's. She's loads of fun, I don't care what anyone in 2007 said.

7. Cream - My favourite speedrunner. With a smile on her face.

6. Blaze - I'm sorry you've been used by Flynn and Co to downplay the other females, you don't deserve to be weaponized like that. Blaze is more than just a disposable Strong Female Character template... and more importantly, she's a cat.

5. Heavy Magician and Heavy Rider - They're both members of the Hard-Boiled Heavies, and as we know, all five of them are Sonic and the Peak Fiction, so I can never mention one in isolation. I like to headcanon that Magician rhymes her sentences, Gruntilda-style.

4. Tikal - She's worth more than the million Whogivesashit the Echidnas in Archie put together. Also associated with Chaos and SA1 as a whole, so y'know.

3. Ariem - I can't justify why an Android-only character is this high up beyond "I just think she's neat". :P Her design is so pretty, and I really like her chemistry with each of the characters... I wanna see more of her (as long as she doesn't get IDW'd)... :<

2. Rouge - She was my #1 Sonic female for so long, and I still love her now. Playful, flirty, smarter than she lets on, and bound to have your back despite her jewel thievery. Just like with Blaze, there's more to her than being able to fight, and if you believe the existence of boobs negates her character, then I don't trust you with female characters in general.

1. Trip - After thinking it over more extensively, I concluded that my unapologetic bias for kindhearted shy ladies wins again, because I'm such a predictable bastard. Can you blame me though? She's cute. :3 She's nice. :3 She's dragon. :3

Casca

She is part of a weird fucked up love triangle with two dudes. All three of them are honestly kind of terrible for each other but she gets shoved aside in favor of the two dudes in most fics and is not allowed to grow past the toxic relationships of her past. Also she’s a cis woman who dresses pretty masculinely (because she’s in a mercenary band) so she gets type casted as the mean lesbian friend, when she’s straight in canon

I've seen more than one Yaoi Shipper say that Casca should have died during this one big canon event as opposed to being assaulted by one of the people in the Yaoi Ship, which of course conveniently would remove her from the narrative and as an obstacle to said Yaoi Ship. Aside from that specifically, though, I think it's particularly cruel to imply that being killed is a better outcome than being a victim of SA, and is an example of the contempt fandom on the whole has for female characters who act traumatized - particularly when both male characters in the ship have similar trauma and its never implied they should have died rather than be assaulted.

She's an incredibly interesting character in her own right with really good dynamics and parallels to Griffith and Guts, and the way those three play off of each other is integral to the story, but most of what I've seen completely ignores her in favor of focusing on only Griffith and Guts

Elizabeth Midford

She started as just a cutie fiancée trying her best, turns out she's also a swordfighting genius, very under pressure to perform feminity in the Victorian Rose type of way. Fandom crucifies her bc she's Ciel's fiancée and they want him to be with his butler, Sebastian, the demon he sold his soul to for revenge

anime was a shitty canon divergent adaptation that butchered her character down to her "cutesy silly girly" persona, which obviously made the 2008 anime fans hate her with a passion (nothing wrong w being girly I'm just saying the adaptation made her super one dimensional) anyways fujoshis used to treat her as a villain because she's the fiance of Ciel,, who as u might know already was HEAVILY shipped with his butler, Sebastian back then (now it's kinda looked badly upon, nice tbh that ship sucks ass xD) She's a bit similar to Misa Amane from death note in the way she was treated. (Like an obstacle the yaoi ship must overcome rather than a person)

she's my silly little rabbit! i could gush about her character but i'll keep it short and just say that she's really well written and one of the best characters in the series. anyways she's ciel's fiance and she's like, rightfully annoying as any other 13 yr old girl would be but the fanbase fucking crucified her for even existing. she gets demonized for being 'annoying', but then ciel gets yaoishipped with an even more annoying guy. there is 100% an argument that lizzie/ciel is weird bc they're cousins (i personally don't ship it) but that falls flat when her detractors then ship the 13 yr old ciel with an eons old demon who Canonically looks like his father. the anime also never reached her main character development until years after its peak and that was only in a movie, so she really got the bad end of the stick here. not me though i had a giant crush on her when i was 12

Had a question about who our favorite Zenigata partner is in a server I'm in and now I can't stop thinking about them. Tis the zaza sickness.

anyway here's literally all of the characters Zenigata's been partnered with that i could find (within reason). if anyone wants to elaborate on any of these guys (cough yata cough) please feel free to go absolutely ham. *(obligatory spoiler warning for a whole lotta lupin specials, waow-- notably zenigata keibu since that's probably the most unwatched of everything i cover. but if youre here im guessing youre as unfortunately well-versed as i am so LETS FRIGGIN GET INTO IT)

Starting off nice n' mellow. I'm pretty neutral on Yata, tbh. I just think he's neat and it's easy enough to write him and not much else. I've rambled about him being a stand-in for the viewer before, but overall i just don't have all that many thoughts on the guy (seriously someone please do yata). ironic considering he's hands-down the most prevalent sidekick to date, but alas. head remains empty.

MARIYA. Mariya my girlie oh how i love thee. finally, someone with a Gimmick on par with Mr. my-sword-can-cut-anything. Plus she's super sweet and smart and sharp and just an all-around endearing character. AND SHE'S DIFFERENT!! she's tagging along with Zenigata of her OWN FREE WILL like gurl what are you THINKING. there isn't a shred of coherent interview material to draw from this man, especially about Lupin. The dynamic they end up developing is on point, though!! Zenigata's initial total miscall of it aside, It's just plain ol' wholesome. If Yata's his surrogate son than Mariya's obviously his daughter. No shot in hell they don't at least keep in contact after the special's done. plus her snapping a pic of him every time he eats shit is peak comedy journalism

MOTHAFUCKIN' MELON COP!! an absolutely magical reefer-smokin' shitbag, especially in the edgy Tokyopop translation. He's a great foil to our otherwise serious(ly neurotic) manga Zenigata. Not to mention the combative potential with a down the line Melon.... ough. A more toned-down "newer part"-esque Zeni getting slapped with an extremely smug and insistent reminder of his angstlord past is such a delicious concept to me. i will be using this guy extensively in that exact way one of these days-- he's too fun not to.

a bit of a sidenote but i've gotta point fingers at gray jacket again (can't recommend it enough) for having my favorite melon depiction in fic; walther recently had him show up in their fic secondhand vanity as well (which i also can't recommend enough), so needless to say i think he has some fun potential.

Sakuraba and Kunikida from the live-action show get honorable mentions, obviously. They're both so different yet learn so much from Zenigata all the same. As far as reacting to the inspector goes, they're the ideal Yatas (again i am so so sorry yata-- surely someone will do you justice). Even though they aren't technically "new" to the force they're new to the Zenigata Shenanigans, and that is where the entertainment factor is. Sakuraba's the traditionalist keibu method-doubter whereas Kunikida's this mousey blue around the gills fella, and over their respective case file appearances, they both gain faith in/learn confidence from Zenigata, respectively. It really is a great bit of development to watch play out.

I'm gonna count The Guys™️ as a collective group/formless mass with maybe one of the Guyest of Guys as Zenigata's right hand Guy, like that one dude in Cagliostro. Apparently the name he's given in one of the dubs is Sam?? That's neat. But yeah the Guys! Right from the start, Zenigata having this army of inexplicably and absurdly loyal cops was always a fun trope and i love to see 'em whenever they show up. I had this idea ages ago for this fake documentary-style miniseries based around them-- all the usual Lupin nonsense goes on in the background while we get a peek at the typically unseen shenanigans happening on the law-bearing side. Getting assigned to the lupin taskforce is probably seen as some kind of punishment, but that just makes the camaraderie all the more tight-knit. There'd be some behind-the-scenes Zenigata/how he interacts with them, what they get up to on their own whack case assignments when they're in a Lupin sighting lull.... hell maybe we even learn why they're all so damn loyal to this one supposedly hyper-independent guy. I think it'd be fun but maybe that's just the Zenigata hopeful in me. Surely he's capable of building some semblance of rapport with the fine group of folks he drags around the world with him....

Let's just rip the band-aid off-- I dislike Oscar with a burning passion. which is weird, right? because i like Melon Cop, the dude who's totally cool with straight-up cold-blooded judge/jury/executioner-style murder. I dunno dude the obsessive daddy kink simping's just too feckin' weird for me. i checked the hell out so fast. If the goal was to make Oscar extremely disquieting, they friggin' did it. Granted he was written to be a bit whack from the start, and getting raised(?)/mentored by THAT Zenigata would irreversibly mess anyone up. I get that the fucked up-ness is part of the appeal, but man. How anyone can gravitate towards Oscar without heavily modifying his whole deal escapes me.

I've seen him written tolerably in fic maybe... twice? He's in gray jacket (there it is again!) and SMRO (needs no introduction nor explanation), so obligatory kudos to anyone who can wrangle [gestures vaguely at all of that].

Vicky though. Vicky Flannigan from Island of Assassins is so goddamn funny. Still can't believe they took one of the most badass Zenigata character designs and actively went out of their way to make him bedridden. I've seen folks call him "Proto-Yata" and. Yeah. Can't argue. He's a glorified babysitter, if anything, and the only reason he's even remotely effective is because he (accidentally) broke both of Zenigata's legs. Funniest shit istg

ICPO LADIES!!! They're cute. Designs could be better but it's Babylon yknow. Despite being an admittedly fun romp, the special has its obvious.... uh. issues. product of its time and all that. iykyk. anyway LADIES. They're competent. They take No Shit from Zenigata. The random little crush that comes out of nowhere between Chinjao and Goemon is cute as hell. Plus, I've seen some pretty rockin' fandom redesigns floating around.... wouldn't mind in the slightest if they made a comeback.

I'm gonna lump all of the Betrayers into one category: Emily O'Brien from Angel Tactics, Kazami from Fuma Conspiracy, and Terry Crown from Alcatraz Connection. Never expected the "Zenigata's partner is the bad guy!!1" trope would be so prevalent, but it tracks in retrospect. It's a neat enough idea-- bummer they never seemed to nail it down, though.

The only reason O'Brien is so predictable is because she's so goddamn unlikable. There's hardly any screentime of them working together and in every single scene, the incompetency just feels so blatantly intentional its almost offensive lmao. Zero surprise in the slightest when she showed her true colors-- just mild annoyance, which tracks for the whole special tbh. Only worthwhile parts are the beginning and the end, and absolutely none of that has anything to to with O'Brien.

Kazami just has that chump secondary villain face y'know. Again, a bit on the nose how obnoxiously dorkish he is-- but them playing up him putting on his glasses so Fujiko can recognize him got a little laugh outta me, ngl. He served his purpose, plain and simple.

I'll never know whether Crown was predictable or not because I stumbled across ""Evil Columbo"" before I watched Alcatraz, but despite the spoiler I can at least say he isn't lame as shit. Pre-reveal, he's probably the closest we'll get to a taste of what Melon might be like in modern Lupin media. He's your run-of-the-mill corrupt sleazebag detective-- steals evidence, generally doesn't give a fuck, takes cheap jabs at Zenigata-- but their final standoff is what puts him above Kazami for me. Just a real melodramatic overdramatic moment of Zenigata Zenigata-ing his heart out.

Welcome to the ELDERLY MEN CATEGORY, OORAH. The old guy from Twilight Gemini, Kogoro Akechi from the pilot, and George McFly from First Contact. I could track down Gemini old guy's name, but I hand-to-god couldn't care less. The only worth a damn thing Gemini's given me is that one jigzeni screenshot, so we're just gonna move on to the next two.

Not much of Akechi, huh. He only shows up in the pilot and doesn't do anything of note besides be someone for Lupin to disguise himself as. Dare i say Goemon was a more effective ally to Zenigata than Akechi...? yeah sure, why not. Goemon's a zeni sidekick. i'll die on that hill. anyway I believe he's also a reference to a pre-existing character...? like Lupin, Goemon, and Zenigata are. All in all its probably for the best that he didn't make it to part 1.

Finally, the only old guy that actually has aspects to talk about. I actually really like McFly and the role he plays in First Contact; it isn't Zenigata learning from whoever his partner may be, but McFly learning from Zenigata. He's a jaded, on-the-verge-of-retirement type that thinks he's seen all the force has to offer, but here comes this young (is he considered "young" in this?? early, maybe) freak-ass foreigner cop with a vendetta he's practically frothing at the mouth to rectify. Neither of them are exactly enthused to be working together, but McFly sticks around anyway and learns to see past a lot of Zenigata's first impression baggage; the tenacity, the passion, the genuineness of it all. Not only does he want to make real change, but the crazy bastard can actually friggin' do it. ...Or at the very least make a sizable dent.

Zenigata sincerely adheres to the idea of what a cop's supposed to be, fundamentally, and not what a "cop" actually is, as a vague collective occupational concept. Zenigata has a genuine effect on McFly-- enough to make him just the slightest bit less soured by the end of it all. It's a nice sentiment; that no matter where you are in life, ideas can still change. It's a small arc that flies beneath the radar of everything else, but i noticed it. I FRIGGIN' NOTICED IT, MAN

tl;dr Zenigata's a lonely guy, sure, but he doesn't have to be.

That should cover all of the significant parts/specials/movies, but if i missed anyone (any notable episodes? manga?) lemme know. Either way, it's nice finally having 'em all in one place.

starting off really strong with Firey and Leafy! I had a theory that by the end of TPOT at least one more from that post split group might rejoin TPOT(pls let it be Bubble but shhhh) although I wonder why they're building that little structure tbh. On a side note, I've never been a huge fan of Firey and Leafy's little plot they've had since the start, but I'll admit this moment is cute. but also RIP LEAFY LMAOOO

I'm surprised to see One have this much power, although I do think my theory still stands of her being the weakest of the algebraliens. I think her powers are primarily only active within the pocket dimension, leading her to want more power outside of it.

Love all the missing posters everyone's making here. They miss their friends. Pen and Needle's friendship is everything to me.

CAKE AT STAKE TIME!!!!!!

I was on the edge of my seat during this. I'm really really surprised Match got such a small amount of votes. I would have thought she would got more than like- David or something. ALSO RAGHGHHH SO UPSET THAT DORA DIDN'T MAKE IT IN but oh well. ALSO THE REVEAL!!!!!!! TWO OF THEM!!!!!!! I love how Bracelety did that, rip Bracelety. I'm surprised again, with how much everyone was propaganda-ing for Bracelety I'm shocked she didn't win by a landslide. BUT WOOOO LIY MAKES IT IN LETS FUCKING GO WE LOVE LIY IN THIS HOUSEHOLD. Pencil don't be mean :{ you made them cry. Also a little surprised that both teams up for elim get the contestants.

As much as I knew Barf Bag was getting out, it still hurt. Loved her lots. I'm thankful Donut is safe and Golf Ball. I really really wish Yellow Face went home, I fucking hate Yellow Face.

THE INTRO!! HAS THE NEWBIES!!! LIY NEXT TO FANNY AND PENCIL IS ON BELL'S STRING!!!!! also another funny thing I like how Two failed at starting it and Gaty did it. I'm absolutely obsessed with Two and Gaty's dynamic in general.

I loved this challenge, I really have been loving how Fanny has taken a leadership role in her team and tbh in TPOT in general. Like, she has her arc with Death PACT has been brilliant and now with One as well and Robot Flower??? She's peak!!!!!! Like she probably won't have as prominent of a role in One's story as like Basketball, but like- she's still probably going to be prominent. She's my fave for a reason!!!!!!!!!

Also already this episode I've wanted to tell Pencil to shut the fuck up multiple times, god I hate her.

I like how Golf Ball and Donut had a chance to talk one on one during the challenge.

I think I also liked how Pen opposed killing the David. I think the whole Death PACT rubbed off on him.

I, uh, I kinda don't care about Book. Or Team 2's storyline. like. at all. I honestly wish Tear Drop made it to the team swap. She could have made it better.

We love a good fight scene, and the whole Death PACT vs Robot Flower fight was absolutely brilliant. The reference to Robot Flower launching Fanny to put her head back on in BFB was really cool, and I loved its resolution as well. TB and BB teaming up with them to help out only to betray them in the end, awesome. Although its a bummer to see them up for elimination so soon. I really hope Robot Flower doesn't immediately get out after this, she's important.

Anyways, I love hearing both Donut's and Golf Ball's perspectives on their team. I still love the idfb crumbs we got for Golf Ball and I think that could play a part in her view point. I do want to see them idk reconcile a little?

OFF TOPIC BUT BLACK HOLE GOING "Nice to see you again, Liy :)" EVERYTHING TO ME.

anyways. I do want to see Golf Ball learn to hear her team's voices, and maybe for Donut to focus on winning a little more. I really want to have that be the arc, please, please jacknjellify, please if you want my undying affection(that you already do have, this wont actually change anything.)

most of the shots in this episode and its lighting were super fucking cool like- the one where RF stabs Gaty with Pin??? Baller. The one before the fight showing all the characters faces??? also baller.

I'm sorry, yet again reiterating how awesome Fanny's character development has been. She's awesome and now she's friends(I think) with Black Hole. She's everything to me. I love how much she cares about everything.

The ending to the episode felt a little rushed and chaotic. Like I feel like it was a "fuck, how do we make someone other than death pact lose?" kind of moment.

but honestly over all, quite possibly my favourite episode. I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, now I will be knawing at the bars of my cage waiting for TPOT 14 to come out.

Woow this new chapter was amazing! I want to say fun, what with Jaime's and Bart's brilliant dynamic, but it also carried so many layers for it to be just fun

Take Jaime's worry, for instance. One glance at Bart and he knew Bart ain't fooling nobody with the act he's putting up, then going all Big Brother on him when Bart talks about Jay and Owen. The connection he made between the two had my jaw on the floor, I have to admit, especially because Jay smelling like booze reminded Bart of "home" tore me to pieces and really made Jaime's comment later on only even more heart-shattering. It was so Jaime to accompany Bart with babysitting the twins too, not leaving his friend alone after the outburst he had a few moments ago. Or did he just need a distraction as well?

Though speaking of Jaime on the more lighter part in his fic, poor him😂! Starting the day fresh and excited and being the #socialking of the group only to get booted because of the asshole who tried to pay with paper clips, I felt bad for him but it was so damn funny. Hopefully he can catch up before the next class of the course when Bart gives him his peace again

Loved his guest-star appearance like the celebrity he is, there's still so much that I'd like to analyse and share about this chapter because WOW this was good

New TPOT and III episodes came out. Spoilers of course.

Firstly, III. My favourite part of it was the photo rooms, because I hadn't seen the old contestant's new assets yet. Shame not all the old contestants were shown though.

Suitcase's return, even through a robot thingy, was nice. She didn't do much but I liked it and how Balloon smiled at her.

All the Bot stuff was amazing, S tier stuff. Too bad she was eliminated. I'll miss her dynamic with MePhone, and she was starting to build a really good one with Cabby too. Missed potential but whatever.

Springy. I hate him. What is it with the II team and making antagonists you can really despise.

Now for TPOT's episode, which I personally think is the better of the two and also the best of TPOT so far. It was fun, Coiny and Pin didn't do anything at all, and Puffball's reaction to Golf Ball's nonsense was amazing. My favourite part of the episode was the vomit cereal, close second goes to Donut's Dora and David thing.

They brought back Gelatin's Steakhouse, which was a nice cameo. Didn't really have much of a meaning or anything, but whatever.

Eggy is eliminated, and I'm fine with that. Fries' elimination is not fine though. He was so close to safety and Midis Ball had to rip it from him...

Just Not was peak this episode tbh, probably my new favourite team. Nickel just got so jaded towards the singing announcer guy and it was so funny.

I hope Fanny survives elimination again. She's great.

Summarised: III's new episode was fine and TPOT's was amazing. Just Not is peak now. I do not make the rules.

M/F BroTP: Ellie and Diego. I really liked how DoTD gave them some scenes and an important moment together with Diego protecting her during her birth with Peaches. Diego fairly glows around the herd's mammoths, especially Manny (like he does with no one else!) and I headcanon that Ellie did try to get Diego to talk about his problems - before he decides to head out in IA3 - before defaulting to Manny since Diego is guarded with her and won't be as open like he is with her mate.

F/F BroTP: Mothers and daughters can count as a friendship, right? In that case, I love Ellie and Peaches' dynamic. Ellie is a good mother, she lets Peaches be herself but she still corrects her if necessary. Peaches as well seems to have a good relationship with her mother and it's sweet to see, becos it's always nice to see comfortable mother/daughter bonds in fiction.

M/M BroTP: Manny and Diego, of course! :) <3 For so many years now they have been my longest-adored friendship. Part of the reasons why I LOVE Manny and Diego goes back to IA1 and how they save each other virtually back-to-back in the story, and more so, are willing to risk their lives to the point of being willing to die for each other, and that just creates deep bonds and a strong friendship; this is even supported by science! I also love how pivotal Manny is to Diego's redemption arc and how he helps him grow as a character in IA1, which goes back to the whole "self-sacrifice" thing he teaches Diego as IA1's story plays out. And this is another reason why the sequels were such a disappointment to me, I was so hoping to see IA1 callbacks or inverses of IA1's ending scene with the Battle at Half Peak with Manny protecting Diego - since a tiger alone has it rough! - and that never happened, nor was their beautiful friendship explored/fleshed out as it deserved, imo … Anyway, their friendship is my favourite in many many ways I could go on and on about it tbh...

crack BroTP: Uh, I guess I would say Buck and Diego (most of these are Diego or Manny-based lol I noticed. Diego has many "circles" within the herd's dynamics because he is the glue not Sid! ;)) but it's not even really cracky becos Buck and Diego have good chemistry. Buck & Diego is also a good dynamic becos I learnt recently from the IA3 BTS - Buck is Diego's foil. He foils Diego, since he's wild and carefree, whilst Diego's heart has always belonged to the herd, even though he tries to leave it and so they have a good push and pull to their dynamic/bond with each other.

dynamic I didn’t expect to like: Hmmm... I think I am go ahead and say... Diego & Peaches! Sure, for me, it's mostly headcanons, but I remember when I heard about IA3 I didn't expect Diego's connection and chemistry with the mammoths he lives with to be explored like it was, and the fact that he was present at Peaches' birth gave me so many feels, oh my gosh, and I just fell in love with an uncle/niece dynamic btwn Diego & Peaches and it's become my second most treasured Ice Age herd family bond becos I love the idea of them being close and Peaches admiring Diego and thinking of him as something of a "second father" :) whilst he adores her wholeheartedly. It disappoints me so much still that officially we didn't get many scenes btwn them in the movies/specials to flesh out that dynamic but Peaches' relationships with her adopted uncles were so shafted and I'm still not over that ngl. :((((

dynamic I didn’t like: In all honesty, Sid and Diego.... their dynamic doesn't have the same vibe and earnestness that Manny and Diego have and Diego imo kinda always looks annoyed or bored in scenes he shares with Sid, especially in the sequels. The fact that the Sid/Diego "ship" is so popular is another reason, tbh, why I don't like this dynamic - they're suited more as brothers than a romantic ship imo. 🤷‍♀️ Heck, their entire dynamic is "little bro annoys middle bro constantly" let's be honest! Also I am aware this opinion is sure to be unpopular. 🤷‍♀️

YESS it could be so fascinating as a concept!! in sith i had it where the reader is the victim of a LOT of brainwashing/propaganda and she’s also a genius (i put my money where my mouth is though i don’t have characters just being like “she’s a genius” but then she’s consistently stupid like many ya novels do LMAOAO she’s emotionally dense but super super smart the plot twists that come about just because of the ideas she suggests have blown many minds) so she does a lot of villainous stuff while at war (she’s also like all of fourteen at this point #childsoldier) that emotionally fucks her up for GOOD like the whole point of the story was showing how “badass killer action girl” makes no sense as a trope given the human psyche so i did a ton of research into ptsd and coping mechanisms and wrote her to have a lot of struggles with mental health in between wars which i think is something that people really liked reading!! but anyways during the war at one point she ends up injured in enemy territory and gets taken in by a family that has a son about her age and they kind of fall in love before she returns to war and suggests burning their village down in order because it’s an obstacle in their way…i think that that kind of trope could work SO well with kunigami (where he’s the reader) just based on what wildcard might’ve done to him HAHA
