more!! again!! for the nico after blood of olympus fic!! actually I thought of this while writing the last one but I just finished it.

His elbows buckle and he lets himself fall into Will, snorting at his theatrical groan under the weight. They lay there for a second until Will shoves him gently, and Nico lets him manoeuvre them into a more comfortable position.

"Hi," he whispers, moving a curl away from his cheek. The greenish tint of the loft window casts a weird shadow over Will's face.

"Hey yourself," Will murmurs back, winking.

Nico rolls his eyes. "You look like Apollo when you do that. Please stop." Will squawks in protest.

"I do not! Also, since when do you remember what Apollo looks like? Actually, no, don't answer that, you can't bring up my dad while we're in bed, Nico, why would you do this to me?"

Now it's Nico's turn to sputter and whack Will in the chest - getting another dramatic oof and a laugh in return - before turning around to face Hazel's bed. He's not sure when he'll ever be able to sleep facing the wall. Will can't do it either.

As Will's arms curl around his waist and draw him back against him, just like they did back in the infirmary that one day, he thinks maybe he'd be okay trying that with him sometime. One day, in a house with gates, no longer wary of monsters.

Will noses the back of his neck, causing him to twitch. "What is it?"

Will's answering smile presses through the rough cotton of his t-shirt. "Nothing, sunshine."

Nico frowns under the covers. "Hey, what do you think of houses with gates?" He whispers.

"Gates? Well, it'd be safer, I guess, but we'd lose the neighbours coming over -"

"As if you want to see random people at the door anyway. What if they're monsters?"

"Oh, come on, darlin', I'm from Austin. Of course I gotta keep space for the neighbours to come knocking."

"…Fences? Actually, hey, why'd you assume I was talking about us? Obviously - Obviously I was talking about random. Random houses. For architecture reasons."

Will muffles his laugh into the back of his neck, again. "Oh, my bad. And I'm only here because you ripped a stitch on the lava wall yesterday."

Nico feels his ears warm.

"Shut up."

"I didn't say anything."

"..Still."

Will reels him in closer until his back hits his chest and he can press a soft peck to Nico's still-red ears. "I think a fence is a great idea, by the way. We could ask Hazel for help with some ward stones too, like you have in the cabin. Gotta make sure we've got at least one window and standing space in every direction, though, or at least in the east, because you know my dad would sulk if he didn't get to scream me awake in the morning."

Nico's blush gets worse.

"Now who's talking about your dad in bed?" He gives up on pretending. Will sees him through every time, anyway. "Also, shrines, obviously, and we need a spot to stargaze."

"Yeah, shrines, obviously. Maybe just yours, mine, and Lady Hestia's though, or else everyone else is gonna get pissy."

Nico barks out a laugh like it's shocked out of him. "Pissy? Don't let them hear you say that."

Will holds him tighter and settles against the pillows. "Sure thing, sunshine. Now can we sleep?"

"Yeah, yeah."

It's not long after that that Will's breath evens out behind him, his muscles untensing. Nico knows he's got a few minutes yet, so he thinks.

Today was…. good.

Today was nice. Normal, even. Just a day of camp schedules, working in the infirmary, an admittedly short campfire, and this. No monsters, and no mistakes. No deaths, but..

Unbidden, the moments in the infirmary come to mind. He thinks of helping Will scrub in for his one surgery of the day, a kid that had gotten parts of an arrow stuck in their leg a week ago and hadn't noticed til yesterday. He thinks of yesterday during capture-the-flag, stepping in and desperately trying to copy what he'd watched Will do, because Lydia was hanging crooked from a tree and there was no one else around but him-

He thinks of Patroclus tying the straps of Achilles' armour, watching his lover sleep peacefully. He thinks of what Connor had told him about at the campfire weeks ago, of Silena Beauregard taking on a drakon when Clarisse declared the Ares Cabin wouldn't be fighting.

He thinks he might understand.

Lydia wasn't the same (thank the gods), but if there was something to be done that only Will could do right, yet couldn't, and the only way Nico could take up his mantle would be to die trying - then, yeah. He'd do whatever it would take for these kids. To do what Will would do. He's gone to Tartarus already, hasn't he? At worst, he'd try his best and greet his father early if he failed to survive. Nico could even give Charon a tip on the way in for the hell of it, why not?

If there is a luxury that comes from being a child of Hades, after all, it is that dying is not the thing that scares him.

There's a brazier still lit outside the window. Its glow falls in slits across their bed.

Will grumbles, pushing his feet forward until their ankles are wound together. The sheets shift.

Nico smiles into the dark, into the chirping of crickets and the soft glow of the fireflies out the window, and falls asleep.

a weird thing about being neurodivergent is no one really bats an eye if I say I have ADHD. and though it has strengths, it's generally acknowledged as a disability

but if I mention I have an IQ of 136+, it's seen as purely impressive, positive, and probably bragging, and no one considers there might be drawbacks

if you have high IQ, you are almost twice as likely to have ADHD! also more likely to have anxiety, depression, autism, and even allergies and autoimmune disorders. smart people are 3 times more likely to have allergies!! Wtf??

then there's the shit like social difficulties and alienation, sensitivity to stress, easily bored, difficulty making decisions and overthinking, trouble communicating, high expectations, gifted child syndrome and not learning how to work for things....

high IQ people are up to three times more likely to use drugs!!!

just think about that. you'd think if you're smart then you'd know that Drugs Are Bad, but no. being intelligent can sometimes suck enough that drugs are the answer

Mutant Mayhem Spoilers

(Donnie appreciation post, he’s a little instigator)

Okay I’m being a little Dramatic abt the instigator thing, but I think I’m mostly right.

Before MM was released and all we had were trailers I heard a lot of people talking about the potential dynamics of all the brothers, mainly that Raph was going to be the Rebel older brother that Donnie and Mikey follow with Leo being a wet blanket.

And while they were right about Leo being a wet blanket sometimes (it’s the anxiety), I think Donnie takes the mantle for a lot of the rule breaking and planning in this movie.

In the very beginning when Raph suggests staying out longer, Donnie instantly pulled out his phone and put the idea of the Movie in everyone’s heads. Didn’t even wait for Leo to response before he was off and Raph and Mikey followed. Almost like he already had it locked and loaded.

Donnie is the first one to come up with the plan to gain acceptance through catching Superfly, which all his brothers are immediately on board.

In almost every scene when Donnie is driving he’s always pulling some NASCAR, Mario cart, movie logical racing that gets them out of all pinches, and-

Donnie was the one who snapped out of it the quickest when Superfly was threatening to grind them into powder- able to divert attention and make the whole ‘we don’t like this plan’ seem like a joke and even offering to drive by himself so they could be closer to the machine piece.

He’s also the first one who yells at Cynthia when they’re put in the milking machine, which requires some guts ngl-

Almost every plan or outspoken moment or even quick save is done by Donnie. (With Raph coming in second for those quick saves)

I’m just super happy that Donnie got a ton to do in this movie and we can really see his potential.

And Donnie is still the smartest! He wasn’t the smartest because he was a tech master, he was the smartest because he could drive and he’s straight up the biggest opportunist in the film, with his smarts being more subtle then outright. It’s a different take on Donnie’s intelligence and I’m really glad they did it.

Ok this is so random, but I just thought of this while playing The Sims 4 💀

Imagine showing your best friend Keigo the game, showing him how it works, etc. And Keigo starts playing, because why not, his best friend (and totally NOT his first ever crush) likes it, so he figures he's gonna like it too. And at first, he just makes silly characters when he's tired and needs to turn off his head for a while or has nothing to do, maybe he makes a character that is a cooking chef or something. But then one day, he gets an idea. He can make you. He can make both of you and put you into a nice little world that he can make, a world that he knows you would surely love to see, with all your favorite hangout spots and everything.

And so he starts playing. He put the both of you into the same house, because why not? And it starts off nicely, playing as the two of you, making the characters into best friends, just like the two of you are in real life.

One day, he's just mindlessly scrolling through YouTube, looking for additional mods that he can download to make his game even better and more realistic. And he runs into one. And when he does, he has to close his laptop and think for a second. After a little self humiliation, he quickly downloads the mod and puts it in the proper mod file.

The mod in question is one of the more realistic mods out there - the Wicked Whims mod (for those not familiar - it's an 18+ mod with 18+ animations...). At first, he doesn't use it, but he knows it's there. He keeps playing, his character having a lot of fun with the character that is supposed to resemble you.

But one day his fantasies grow a little stronger. As he lays on the bed, fisting his cock to the thought of you, he remembers the certain file that is currently sitting innocently in his laptop. He doesn't waste a second as he gets up and opens the game with one hand.

Since your characters were already best friends, it wasn't that hard to quickly get them to do their first kiss. And then their first makeout session. And oh god he can't wait any longer-

He open the list of the animations, every description is like a drug that he can't keep his hand and eyes off of. It's paradise, he thinks. And so he spends and hour - was it already and hour? - edging himself to every animation he has downloaded, trying to find the perfect one. He tries every surface that is accessible, as he still projects how this would look like irl in his mind's eye.

One the post nut clarity sets in, he immediately deletes the mod and all of the animations off of his laptop in embarrassment. (Don't worry, he for sure redownloaded them all a few days later..)

So, you mentioned Keith and Maeve having a farm, when I mentioned the Harvest Moon AU, and it got me thinking about the context... What would their roles be, their meeting and romance line

If Maeve would be the protagonist, she would be the new farm girl, obviously, but I was thinking she doesn't know why she was tasked with with this little farm

Keith, I think would have a tea and natural medicines shop, that has been having a shortage of herbs recently. He is surprised Maeve can grow anything on that farm, but they start helping each other more and more often

And if we want to play with the bit of magic some Harvest Moon games seems to have, maybe the shortage of supplies was caused by a curse un the valley, and Maeve was secretly sent there because she can break it

I will probably end up thinking more about this later, but I just wanted to share this

This idea is so, so lovely! I love the little switch with Keith being the natural medicine shopper and Maeve the farmer. I don't remember much of the magic in the SNES version of Harvest Moon (last time I played it was ages ago), but aaaaawwww, I really really like it!
