Null, cult leader, if Hantengu had more smotion clones, what do you think they'd be more of? Love, lust, guilt, shame, boredom, lovesick? Or hell, maybe even a yandere clone that's absolutely obsessive over everything!! If you have time, please do give and show us your opinion (and maybe a sketch/drawing of a clone YOU think Hantengu would have more than the main four)

I've seen hantengu clone ocs, and I think they're very interesting!! But I don't think I'll make my own, I'm too attached to the main cast 🙏😔 BUT IF I DID, THIS WOULD BE MY THOUGHT PROCESS—

The clones are supposedly the four emotions that make up a human/demon, and in my head, the emotion Hantengu felt often is in order from strongest to weakest.

Fear -> Hatred -> Resentment -> Anger -> Pleasure -> Joy -> Sorrow

So, if there were any other emotions, they'd probably be considerably weaker to the one's we're used to. Maybe that's why they're not seen? Still WAYY stronger than the average demon and human.

Maybe they were fleeting feelings that he'd have occasionally... Maybe they need more time to form, unlike the main four. So that little eye thing from Urogi would form into another emotion if given enough time?

Perhaps there could be another set of four?

Anger -> Pleasure -> Joy -> Sorrow

Disgust -> Love -> Shame -> Numbness (??)

Plus, the other possible emotions that would sprout out like Zohakuten. Maybe if the love clone absorbed the others, they'd form the obsession clone. lust could probably be a branch of pleasure, so I'm lumping them together!

Disgust probably hits you where it hurts, literally and verbally? Makes you super insecure... Always grimacing.

Love is flirty? Probably makes fighting feel super intimate and makes your heart race in more ways than just his murder attempts..!

Shame always covers his face, probably more stealth based. The type to skitter everywhere and show up behind you until you look at him..

Numbness is sluggish. He moves like jelly, but because of that, he's so unpredictable that his hollow gaze makes your skin crawl.

Obsession is probably a close range fighter... Always getting in your face and reaching out to you with a manic grin.

To keep the tengu theme, they'd probably have similar outfits to the main four, but worn differently? and one of them would still have avian traits, but not a harpy like Urogi.. maybe he has smaller wings and human limbs to signify that he's the weaker version...!

Another reason they aren't seen could be because Hantengu and the main four are ashamed of these emotions? These feelings poke so many holes into his perfect delusion that he SUPPRESSES them to keep himself in his bubble.

I don't have many thoughts, but I do see them being resentful (heh) of the main four. they're their stronger versions and get to leave the main body, so they act accordingly.

The erasure of Aphrodite's actual kids in mythology for Rachel's OCs is worse when you notice they're all queer themselves:

Eros - Already a given as to why he'd be a queer figure

Anteros - God of Requited Love. In the more popular versions of his birth he's the son of Poseidon ans Nerites, another man. The god of the most happy form of love is from two queer dads!

Himeros - God of Sex, and specifically is considered a patron to Male/Male romantic and sexual relationships

Pothos - God of Longing and Yearning, and to many can be seen as a queer figure who represents the struggle of queer identities and feelings in a cishetero society

Hedylogos - God of Sweet-talk and Flattery, easily can be made into a bi/pansexual figure to represent queer joy

Hymenaus - God of Marriages and Song who actually crossdresses in mythology to save women in danger.

Hermaphroditus - God of Androgyny, who in the greek version of their birth was always neither male or female, but a mixture of both. They're a symbol of intersex people and being outside the gender binary.

So, Rachel had a whole BTS's worth of queer figures to include in her story, especially in a romance story, and yet removed all of them except one to make a gay best friend. The queer erasure has been there since day one and is worse the longer you look into it!

You're so right though, I feel like it would have made sense to not include them just for the sake of avoiding cast bloat, but instead she just swapped them out for a whole other cast of fake kids, and it's really telling when the OG kids were queer. Now we have... Mania.

🌊 Mentality has moon and ocean themes around her design, she's always seen with a veil that drags on the floor, her color schemes changes depending on her mood (usually blue cause it's her chosen color like Mind)

🌊 couldn't really show it cus lazy but her eyelashes have small watery dewdrops on them sometimes, and her lashes always seem to flutter every blink she has (this is inspired by the myth that crying makes your lashes longer and also crying makes your lashes flutter more)

🌊 she is not as apathetic nor arrogant as Mind is but she is just as stubborn. she may not be loud and obnoxious but she is always persistent in her ways

🌊 Mentality is also best at keeping secrets, it has a way of just listening and then never opening up her mouth about it but this has it's own cons, considering that she's insecure as hell

You know what, i'm CONVINCED that people nowdays don't know the definition of "fun", or they've just never experienced joy. "I can't believe people like a character based on 2 chapters😔" BUT do you realise that you're hating on her "based on 2 chapters"? I'm going to be honest, i may not like some things about the way her character is written, but i'm never going to full on slander on her. I HATE to bring up my fav characters...but do y'all remember Jamie and Gray in TIG? They made mistakes and the way fandom (not everyone) ignores those detals just makes me so MAD. and now that we have a new female character, and Grayson's love interest y'all are HATING. Some of you (including me) made her whole character up, idk if it was basied on your OC's or your own self...but now that she's different, you can no longer imagine yourself with Gray?...idk that just seems...freaky and fight me if you want IDC🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️.

I repeat, this doesn't apply to everyone, if you don't like her charcter, or somethings about her that's fine, some things threw me off guard too (the test shit...) BUT don't tell other to stop liking her character or "i don't get why they like her, we know very little", that doesn not, and will not stop me and some of us in this fandom from liking her. LIKE damn..give this girl a chance. First Ave now her..UGH, the way female characters get hate..for just existing...

usually, first i have a concept, the concept tends to be born out of "what ifs" and "wouldn't it be really [x] if [y]" as example: "wouldn't it be really funny if a bankrupt cashier was aslo a serial killer wOAH ACTUALLY IT CAN GET FUCKED UP RLLY QUICKLY LETS WRITE IT AND DO TROPE SUBVERSION" (deidamia rotari) or "What if there was an SCP scientist, but like, they were the definition of 'no thoughts head empty' / 'no thoughts only joy' while aslo being really good at their job" (noodle)

and in VERY, VERY unique cases i just grab a trope i like and put it in my story, example: jane teruel <3

once i have the idea, what i like to do first, if its a character, is to give it a name and design, because the concept doesn't tend to come with them😔 i tend to do this either by hand/drawing (noodle and katatasha) if i have a clear idea of what i want (tasha) or if i want a simple design (noodle),

and sometimes i Don't do the design by hand, and instead use some sort of character maker (read: gacha life 2) (sorry for being cringe😔 it will happen again) when the design is a little more complicated!!

Once i am done w/ those steps, then i add complexity to the character!!! like!!! aspects of their personality!!! backstory or something that approaches!! little fun facts!!! to finish em up!! and i note em down sometimes to make a little Character Sumary!! like!! you attempt to explain ur oc at (imaginary or not) someone until you manage to simplify it in order to avoid accidentally write them out of character!! while keeping the complexities!!! yeah its something hard to balance but you manage👍

after im done with creating the character, i then tend to put em in my shelves for a while, spin them, try to know what i wanna do with them....and if i figure that out!!! then i began noting down ideas and concepts until something!!! rises from the mix :3!!!

It looks like your more focused on the cartoon version of the critters. Which is fun! You make them all look cute and snuggleble. Have you thought about what a toy version of your critter oc would look like, perhaps after the hour?

Yes! I have a experiment version similar to dogday and catnap and a actually toy version lioe the ones who kill you in the game. I trier to make it as creepy as possible but horror isnt my strongest suit.

Sadly lovelylamb was not apart of the hour of joy😔 the prototype was too much commitment for her so she hid away with the rest of the smiling critters, after dogday was taken away and the rest were either eaten or killed lovelylamb was left alone, in the hideout the smiling critters made. To cope she would talk to herself for comfort pretending she was talking to the kids or her friends, reminding them to not go outside and to stay right here.

Unfortunately, she has a manic episode which leads to catnap hearing her and soon killing her. I had an audio idea for her cut out board but im not sure if I'll do it.

April

This one is quite obvious. April 1st is Tsuyoshi’s birthday, and hers and Takeshi’s is the 24th.

May

Golden Week, and especially Children's Day, is one of Rio's favorite holidays. The sight of koinobori fluttering in the wind is one that always makes her smile. She loved preparing theirs at home; it was so much fun.

August

Obon has always been a very emotional celebration for her. She was always the one who picked the flowers to visit her mother's (fake) grave with Takeshi and Tsuyoshi. It made her feel closer to her.

Also, she confessed to Dino during summer vacations, and he proposed to her that same day some years later.

December/January

So much has happened this month for her. New Year's are her other favorite holidays. They're some of the busiest days at Takesushi, but it feels so rewarding when they finish everything and enjoy their dinner together.

It was close to this date when she lost a small piece of her heart forever, but, some years later, also in December, little Calla brought a new light and joy to the family.

It's actually been tough finding joy recently because I've had alot going on, alot of stress, and less time for myself 😔 some small joys at least: I'm really excited about the next PJO book that got announced (but long wait 😭), it's made me really happy seeing how many people are so excited for OC Week this year like at least I know one event I run will be going over well this year 😭 also been getting more into Sonic again which has been fun! Oh yeah- and my oc's have been keeping me going alot lately lol and when others enjoy or take interest in them. rosie - something tells me rosie and fraser would like johnny cash's later songs, especially the american albums and unearthed. they just give me those vibes. i think rosie loves the man comes around and like a soldier. she likes the sound of the man comes around before the end of the world, but after the end of the world i think listens to like a soldier and down there by the train. out of his earlier music, she likes give my love to rose. in an alternate universe where everything is good all the time, daryl plays that sound in the car with her :)

fraser - i feel that every cool and sad teenage boy ever has to johnny cash's cover of hurt, so obviously fraser has listened to it for hours and probably even learned it on guitar. he also likes i see a darkness, the beast in me, and the man who couldn't cry. and send a picture of mother. he's a big enjoyer of the sad ones.

juni - opposite to fraser and rosie, i think juni much prefers johnny's earlier stuff. she loves the classics, like folsom prison blues and i walk the line. and i think she also loves train of love, i'm an easy rider, and the chicken in black. she finds the chicken in black so funny and sings it repeatedly until daryl refuses to play it for her ever again.

warren - warren listens to johnny's you are my sunshine all the time. alllll the time. it makes him feel warmer. he also loves big iron, the ballad of boot hill, and i still miss someone. i think that maybe, when he and bucky are driving for miles and miles in their stolen truck, they hear johnny cash on the radio a lot.

mazzy - mazzy also loves the chicken in black for how much fun it is, but i also think she listens to i don't hurt anymore and can't help but wonder where i'm bound a lot. and redemption day too.

ruth - ruth is a big fan of johnny 99 i think. that's the truth, new cut road, girl from the canyon, brand new dance. i think she loves that whole album and listens to it a lot. her favorite is definitely brand new dance though.

for books:

rosie - she is a big non-fiction fan and loves acquiring all sorts of semi-useless knowledge. lots of dinosaur books. i don't read a lot of non-fiction, so i can't say what her favorite would be, but it's definitely some kind of dinosaur book. and for fiction, she's probably read dinosaurs before dark a hundred times.

fraser - he likes the perks of being a wallflower for obvious reasons. but he also likes the catcher in the rye. he feels like holden sometimes, scared to grow up, scared to face his emotions, and disheartened by the world a lot of the time.

juni - juni loves dork diaries and junie b. jones books for sure. she's not a great reader, so to try and get better, she reads all the dork diaries and junie b. jones she can get her hands on.

warren - warren loves the outsiders. he's fascinated by the idea of having such a big and close friend group that it becomes a family.

mazzy - mazzy isn't a big reader at all. i think if she gave them a try, she'd like the percy jackson books though.

ruth - she loves poetry and philosophy books i think. leaves of grass by walt whitman perhaps. maybe the prophet.

and in case anyone is wondering, my favorite book ever is a heartbreaking work of staggering genius by dave eggers and you should totally read it. it's devastating and funny and so real.
