Ok so the redraw is back from October of 2022 and I am just. Really really proud of my improvement. I feel like the drawing just feels way more interesting now despite not changing in the subject matter, which is great cause I’ve kinda been in a rut recently. Also very happy to see my last post doing pretty decent (especially on the app sharing a name with a bangin Kesha song) so I’m glad that people are liking my art :]

Hello, it's been a while, I've been really busy and also my brain chemistry has been messed up, but I am, in fact, alive. So this is one of the love interests from the novel I'm working on, he's a bastard and I adore him, he's a boogeyman, which means that he eats fear and has some fun illusion and dream manipulation magic innately as well as some limited capacity to teleport, and he's got a thing about poison, which is an especially questionable motif as everyone knows his parent died because they ingested something toxic, and everyone also already pretty much knows it was him who poisoned them, but for complicated reasons nobody intends to do anything about it. The pin on his lapels is the house sigil of his spouse's bloodline, house Beaulieu, and that is why it does not match the other metal pieces on his person. He handles finances for the noble houses in the setting, and he's very good at it, which, paired with his marriage to Emmanuel, who is themself from a noble house, is the main reason he has not been imprisoned or executed for the poisoning debacle. He's also a very skilled pianist, he likes to play energetic, whimsical pieces, despite his overall rather bleak presence. He acts a bit cartoonishly evil in public and it has gone over surprisingly well for him, he's become somewhat of a boogeyman heartthrob for his exaggerated, usually harmless malice. Emmanuel calls him 'appleseed' affectionately since apple seeds have a small amount of cyanide in them.

Imagine Sephis, her hand firmly on her stomach, sitting in this stuffy office, smelling of ink and sadness, while a female human resources employee stamps first on Jason's death certificate and then on the posthumous marriage certificate.

The woman carefully hands her the papers, Sephis can't look at the purple markings.

"Survivor's Allowance - 10 gold Denarii can be obtained from any bank in new Rome, they can be exchanged for your gold drachmas or ordinary mortal money... Also, please accept my condolences."

Sephis can't speak, she just nods at her.

She was never Jason's wife, she immediately became Jason's widow, Their baby Ophelia was never Jason's child, she immediately became Jason's orphan.
