love how Solar Opposites started out as a sitcom about two aliens who can't stand each other, stuck with their teenage clones (whom they also can't stand) & a toddler antichrist (whom they view as a sort of self-sufficient free-roaming hamster?) on a stupid planet they can't stand

and 4 seasons later it's a sitcom about a family of genderqueer aliens, headed by a gay couple in a happy & horny open marriage (with a graphic off-screen sex life, despite their canonical lack of genitalia?) teaching themselves to be okay parents to their 3 kids (whose Sci-Fi Antics now slightly-less-frequently revolve around wreaking havoc on human bystanders, and slightly-more-frequently revolve around alien-clone-sibling-bonding*), to the point that the central plot point becomes "We need to provide our toddler antichrist with a stable home environment."

(also the grumpy alien husband is too busy ingratiating his family with their suburban neighbors to even remember whom or what he dislikes. what is this show)

I like the idea of the "alien" part of her being a sort of virus/bacteria/parasite that causes coral-like mushrooms to grow on her. the cat part of her is just for fun because I'm a furry lol, but could also potentially be part of the virus I guess. I like the idea of her needing to use a cane due to the virus making her legs and body weaker since it has to feed on the resources her body is providing.

tbh I didn't think too much about what the lore explanation for this is - I just thought "wouldn't it be funny if pearl had corals growing out of her head" and then spent an hour rendering said corals.

GOD OF CONSUMPTION

She’s the major god of the Firebacks (an alien species from OEH), and essentially she’s the oldest benevolent god, having killed and eaten the malicious gods before her. She stole the power of the Sun (which is what turned her into a god herself) and used it to destroy and consume the previous gods, as well as bringing fire to her people and teaching them how to wield it.

purification is a painful, painful process.

rough sketch based on a scene in the Ravenwood RP. Antony is confronted with a situation in which he has to utilize his divine power in order to save Melvin - who had been terribly poisoned. the only one strong enough to clear the poison from his system is Antony, but the boy's abilities come with the caveat that his physical body still isn't entirely capable of handling prolonged and intense bouts of purification for any extended length of time; even despite having been reborn as a demigod.

so that power breaks him from the inside out - just as it did back in Atria. he does manage to save Melvin, but at the cost of his own life... though no one is aware that he still retains the ability to come back from the dead by that point. ends up being quite a shock for everyone when he turns back up a few days later, naturally. ><;;

tbh, some pretty awful repeat trauma for Antony. poor kid doesn't deserve it, but the angst is just too good to pass up imo :0

Inspired by this post by @driftdisco. I always bawl when I think about how Hershel might not know who HE is because he’s turned himself into the amalgamation of everyone he’s lost. Each patch is color picked from his friends and family, I hope I did the idea justice.

ALSO: because of this I discovered that teen Angela’s outfit colors are literally just a few shades lighter than the orange and brown that Hershel wears as an adult and I’m SCREAMING!
