I'm not a very positive person, i have a LOT of doomer tendencies. I feel everything like it's cranked up to the max, and as you can imagine it doesn't feel great. Every day throws more atrocious things in my face, and i can't ignore it 🥲

I see other people feeling the same way. We dissociate and numb ourselves by watching, playing, buying stuff. Hateful movements are gaining traction and climate change has its foot in the door

And it's all happening either way, to some degree. I feel like shit, and i'm sick of that. I might as well have a little bit of hope, otherwise i'll go bonkers 😭 Do we continue doomering our way through life or ignoring things altogether, or do we choose to hope a little?

That's why i'm looking into Solarpunk and am thinking of taking any readers (and myself) on a little journey through a better world, and how it might work, through a series of mini-comics I'm posting here. I don't have all the answers (no one person ever does), and i don't hold any pretenses that this kind of world is going to be our future. But i often hear "You love critiquing the status quo, but what do you propose instead?" I'd like to find out too. Here's to something we can hope for, no matter how slim the chances are! Because as I said, i might just lose my mind otherwise ☠️

P.S for new peeps: this is an AU with me and my friend's OCs, so all characters are genderless and go by they/them. It's not identical to our world in that regard, but other than this fact we try to keep it more or less realistic 🤙

but yeah! just wanted to let yall know out there, especially since the plagiarized works have already gained some traction and have 100+ notes on them. i've talked about them vaguely on my blog before, so if this sounds familiar, yeah this is them.

plagiarism is shitty, i shouldn't have to say that. it is not that hard to just write your own stuff. i know validation and publicity make you feel good, but stealing someone else's hard work is not the way to go. writers already have enough to deal with. just don't do it. what's the point of getting validation if it's not even your work?

again, don't send death threats, please. that's a bit far, and they likely won't even do anything since the plagiarizer has already been called out before and this was their response.

in honor of negativity november waning, here are some things i dislike about ci/disability spaces online!

1. the amount of unchecked internalized ableism. this is more rampant of instagram and tiktok than the ‘blr, but nothing makes my blood boil faster. it’s the (covert or overt) presentation of “see?? not ALL disabled people are [xyz].” it’s communication-abled, conventionally attractive people with decorated wheelchairs taking steps to separate themselves from the “undesirable” parts of disability. (aside: i think positivity from disabled creators is GOOD, i don’t think all content should be doom and gloom or intensely personal, what i want to target is the alienation of others with disabilities)

2. the suffering olympics + lack of empathy. this is probably self-explanatory, but stuff like the person on ig who said she’d rather have cancer than pots is just unsavory. while i want to acknowledge the turmoil that leads a person to think like that, stuff like “xyz has it so much better” helps nobody.

another common thread i see is in comment sections; people tend to vent about their illness with no acknowledgement of the creator of the video and/or the people they’re replying to. i think that on one hand, this is another symptom of a community that is hurting deeply (it’s also worth acknowledging that people with autism and/or adhd often empathize through shared experience. the complete lack of consideration for another/one-up-manship i’m trying to address is entirely different). on the other hand, the kind of community where nobody is willing to help each other is concerning and frankly not helpful. (i must say, though, that there are some excellent supportive spaces online and this is NOT the entire community)

3. that even with the aforementioned suffering olympics, the people who are silenced most everywhere else are often no more platformed online. i touched on this, but the people who gain most traction are generally privileged with communication. we shy away from ventilator users, people who are entirely bed-bound, people with visible differences that may make us uncomfortable. it’s a difficult pill to swallow, but we as people with non-apparent disabilities are every bit as capable of ableism.

4. the rampant misinformation! advertisers who misrepresent their products or audience make me incredibly angry, but i find that misinfo is spread just as easily by well-meaning people repeating what they hear. if you make health-related content, even if it’s just concerned with your personal experience, please take a look at well-established resources (if you have ehlers-danlos syndrome, i can help you in this realm). information is power, and where health is concerned, can be life or death.

I'm newer here so I wasn't around for the live developments, but from looking at it now, it appears that the DM timeline was: Nicola and Luke attend some dinner together and someone submits a blind to DM that L had kissed a Real Housewife who was sitting next to him on the neck. The woman in question and the dinner host respond, debunking it, saying that L was a gentleman and had a gf. Meanwhile, there are articles out stating that L is single, but there are also A's IG posts. Then, L and N slag DM off in an interview, calling her an unreliable source who had posted lies about L. DM gets pissed off and posts that she has proof that L has a gf and people fight her about it in the comments. Then DM sics Backgrid on L and A on premiere night. L is furious and refuses to play into it, so DM keeps A's name in her mouth to continue to piss him off and hopefully go public with her, thus validating DM as a source. Now Backgrid and People have dollar signs in their eyes, so they keep going after him.

Now, if this is what in fact happened, why are people mad at L exactly? He might've not been serious with A when those original articles came out or was determined to protect her, given what happened with J, so he decided to claim he was single in public but be open about her existence in private. I agree that the people around him have been a bit callous with their posting of him, but are they not allowed to live? It doesn't make sense to me for anyone connected to him to have orchestrated any of this, it looks like DM just has a vendetta against him and Nic, given how she's been targeting her as well lately. It appears she has indeed succeeded in turning public opinion against them. I mean, is there anything I'm missing? Or does the fandom feel gaslit first and foremost, hence the backlash? I know about the HBS behavior, I'm just curious about the infamy of the pap walk and how it squares with them being completely caught unawares and how that would change people's opinion, if at all.

I will say that I don’t think this will be an easy question to answer. Or if I am even able to because it all comes down to what people believe and how they perceive certain situations. It is also not a black and white situation. I believe there are multiple things that took place before and after the premiere night that caused hate and outrage. But the tipping point was definitely the paparazzi walk. 

Your summary about the Deuxmoi timeline is pretty good. But I will say that Brynn Whitfield didn’t say that Luke had a girlfriend, but said “Flattered but definitely not true. Very much a gentleman and I’m very happy to call everyone from the dinner a new and dear friend ❤️." (Although, correct me if I am wrong and Brynn went on to say anything else). 

People knew about Antonia and Luke starting back at the end of 2023, but it didn’t get much traction until New Years, where the video of them kissing came out. After the video came out that is when they officially became friends on Instagram. So even though there were many articles that came out that said that Luke was single, a lot of people knew that he did have a situation with Antonia (and her continued stories and posts with his hands, legs and arms confirmed that there was obviously something there). 

At this time people did not like how she presented herself online (her public persona did not get a warm welcome and a lot of people thought she was baiting the fans with the things she did post). So having her be in photo’s with Luke on the night of the premiere seemed disingenuous towards Bridgerton and season 3. There was a build up to the hate Luke and Antonia got and the paparazzi walk was just the breaking point.

To be honest it wasn’t a good look, but I also do not believe that Luke or his team were responsible for the paparazzi (but some people still think it was a hard launch for his relationship and that him and his team had something to do with it. I can understand why those people would be upset if they still believe that). 

People could be angry with Luke if they still believe he's contributing to media manipulation, which would seem deceitful. I think fans are frustration with him because he appears to be playing games with the media and fans.

I will link my post where I have stated why I DON'T believe Luke or his team were involved. 

There are also people who do feel gaslit, just like you said. This has definitely caused some of the outrage towards Luke and the whole situation. 

There is a slight perception of deception that I can see happening (and not at the fault of Luke really). Articles reporting Luke as single while he was "privately" involved with Antonia, could create a perception of dishonesty. Fans and media might feel misled because Luke's public persona didn't match his private life.

I do think that after the night of the premiere it seemed like Luke didn’t quite understand the backlash he was receiving because of the whole situation, and so when Milan came a couple days later and there was the paparazzi 2.0 (I think people thought it was like pouring salt on a wound). It just didn’t seem like the timing for that was the most ideal. I think it fuelled the fire even more.

It was right after Milan photos came out that Nicola posted her Sex In The City TikTok monologue and I believe crisis management became involved. I think this was Nicola’s way of trying to tell him the hate was really becoming something and he needed to regroup. Then the Jimmy Fallon interview happened. Luke’s team said that the Milan fashion week was Luke’s last stop for the promo tour, and if his team thought it was his last stop, why the Jimmy Fallon interview? Crisis management. Although this is all speculation on my part.

Do I think that Deuxmoi liked the fact that Nicola and Luke both called her out? Nope! And I can see how the timing of everything does make it seem like this is some type of hidden agenda (and I wouldn’t be surprised).

If Deuxmoi is indeed targeting Luke and Nicola out of a personal vendetta, it could make the situation more complicated. The public and fans may be reacting to the drama rather than the facts, leading to misplaced frustration.

I know of two interviews where Nicola did bring up Deuxmoi and how she had to stop reading. The first one being in the Tumblr interview where she says that she had to stop reading when she started to see her friends on it and she would read stuff about herself that wasn’t true.

Then the interview she did in Brazil with Luke where she mentions that the stuff she read about Luke was not true (and she wanted to defend him) and that she has also had some untrue things said about herself. 

The situation involves a mix of media manipulation, public perception, and privacy issues. Like I said earlier it's not a black and white situation. People might be upset with Luke due to perceived dishonesty or frustration with the ongoing drama. The media's role in escalating the situation and targeting individuals also contributes to the overall tension. It’s a multifaceted issue where understanding the full context is challenging and hard to summarize, especially with competing narratives and personal agendas that may be at play. So I hope this somewhat helped? I'm not even sure if I actually answered anything at all?

I also have to say that this is all speculation. I do not know any of the people I have mentioned personally. Anything is possible, but lets show everyone a bit of grace.

I’m laughing at their Vancouver two bit royal tour. Dropping the puck like QEII, meeting with local govt officials, charity engagements (more close up photos of her hugging people), IG site visits. Did they really think they could compete with Kate’s legs, Blackpink AND a new tiara?!

Vancouver had zero traction. I had to Google to get pics and even the best ones weren’t that good . Don’t they realize they need good pics at this point? Why wear black?

The SHINee World drama continues.

The CEO of Onew’s company (CEO Jang of Griffin Company, I think it’s called) posted an IG post in early hours of the morning complaining about how things went down re SMTown and other things, like the mini album that had been on the table for 2024; these things never materialized, despite the company planning them into Onew’s schedule. The CEO’s complaint centered on last-minute cancellation notices.

People criticized CEO Jang’s post, saying it was unprofessional to air out work/contractual complaints via IG in the early morning rather than keep it private and pursue it professionally; personally, I thought it was kinda cool to call out the bullshit like that.

Now, some people have twisted CEO Jang’s words to make it look like the complaint about a lack of cooperation made was targeted at Taemin, when I can say neither TM or BPM were mentioned in his posts; only SM was ever mentioned. My Korean is not good enough to be authoritative on this, but I would say that it seems easy to twist posts like that on social media because often subjects are omitted from sentence structure - so a bad actor could screenshot a post and make up their own context, since Korean is highly contextual (lack of pronouns, lack of subjects often); this is my janky take based on what I’ve learned of the Korean language.

Posts on Weibo and the qoo using the CEO’s words and railing against Taemin have taken off, with thousands of entries; this does mirror the incident involving the dating rumour on Weibo; apparently, just like then, the poster on Weibo was a ‘nothing’ account with limited activity that then, somehow, had super traction and virality. People do believe that on Weibo, these have been paid posts/paid activity. It’s worth noting that these posts have actively called for TM to leave SHINee, and this has bled into Twitter where I’ve seen people telling him to leave o.O

Through all of this, people who dislike Onew have been using anything they can to call for him to leave the group. Before the SMTown drama, there was huge campaign on Twitter using hashtags, asking for Onew to leave the group. This was K-fans and surprisingly, a lot of people I thought were normal participated in this. Hugely shocking. Anyhow, this activity is on-going. With CEO Jang’s actions, people are using this as another reason for Onew to leave - ie. how dare he go after TM (except, he didn’t…).

CEO Jang, although he deleted the IG post that was misinterpreted, he joined a chat room and chatted with Onew fans to clear the air. Again, we have the entire statement (search Twt; you’ll find it easily) and he makes no disparaging or shady remarks to anyone. If he’s guilty of anything, it’s talking too much in general. LOL. However, he did allude to how he refused to accept the funeral wreaths that anti-Onew fans sent to the company. He refused the order and it was refunded, and apparently that made the ‘anti fans’ quite angry. Again, I think that’s shrewd. And it shows that SM let that funeral wreath situation happen with that poor boy from Riize.

Cue the crazy TM fans: they took screenshots of CEO Jang’s chats (not the whole statement) and again, recontextualized things to make it look like the CEO was taking swipes at TM and/or BPM. I read through the whole statement and he did not. I can’t see how it can be interpreted that way. He talks about supporting the group and all five members and how he’s a shawol himself.

All of this has led fans to constant fight amongst themselves publicly. And TM did make a further Bubble message that was a bit sad, saying ‘I’ll work hard to repay the trust you’ve put in me.’ I’m all for him being clear and explaining himself. He didn’t participate in SMTown and I think it was fair to clarify, as he did, that the negotiations between companies are still on going. That was enough. It will be a little sad if all of this drama continues and he keeps making sad-sack commentary on Bubble.

All fans, domestic and international, feel the need to share their two cents. And I get that; I’m doing it in my own way here on Tumblr. But a Tumblr blog is also a place with less visibility and virality. On Twt and these other social media forums, angry comments from all sides are just stacking up, and although I’m always happy at the lack of violence and deplorable behaviour, it’s still hard to see constantly. And to see people accuse Onew of carelessness and TM of callousness. People are taking it personally, which I get to a degree, but posting these angry missives on Twt is just going to Times Square and yelling it out. At some point, it’s not necessary, in my opinion. And it does more harm than good.

SHINee members with their lawyers need to sort their shit out. No one wanted SMTown to be the way it was, but it’s not one person’s fault and also, SM fucked their own artists on this show too (poor Taeyeon), so, expectations should be metered. It’s hard when a group of men say ‘trust us that everything will be fine’. I don’t feel the need to blindly trust people I don’t know, especially on something so removed from me as this whole thing, but I will listen to what they have to say as long as they take the time to make their intentions clear. I don’t agree with people saying that ‘they don’t need to say anything’. They do - things are a bit fucked right now so yes, they do need to say something, but when they do, we need to accept that and grow TF up.

but I do feel a little bit salty when the time I put into something doesn't match the reward I get out of it.

my post popular posts are stolen memes from twitter and bluesky, stupid shitposts, and my insane political ramblings. those take anywhere from 10 seconds to five minutes of effort.

my art, on the other hand, I put so much time into that. I've been working on a huge project non stop for all of October, my celestial playing cards. and even my most popular post from that doesn't even have the fraction of the notes from the stupid shit I post in like a minute. my most recent piece has been in the works for literally a week straight, and it took me begging people to reblog for it to actually get any traction.

like, to me, the fun I have making something is always more important to me than the attention I get. creating art is what makes me happy. not some stupid number. but I would be lying if I said I didn't care about that stupid number at all.

and then I feel like a bitch for constantly reblogging my own art. like I'm desperate for attention.

and then at the same time I have to deal with stuff like this on ig

scammers and assholes like this who take advantage of the little guys. they prey on people who get very little traction and do stuff like this. "please give us money and also the rights to post your art and take all the credit". eat a bag of dicks.

ok. newsletter website is functional. Not good, not pretty, but functional.

I've got to fill it out and work on the graphics. I have a lot of neat ideas, I want each section and part of the website to have a little critter.

Art is gonna be a dragon

Writing is gonna be an owl

community announcements is gonna be a werewolf

the 404 error page will be a void.

Submission's are gonna be a fairy

I don't know if I'll need more, but that's all I have for now.

But! It just seemed like a fun silly way to decorate the website and newsletter. Give it some personality.

I've decided I think I want the name to be Nonhuman Notions. NNN, nonhuman notions newsletter. N^3. n cubed. Or Nonhuman Quarterly. But NNN has a bit more whimsy to it, which I think reflects what I want the newsletter to be more. It's a collections of ideas and actions connected to being nonhuman. Nonhuman Notions.

Depending on how much I get done on my own in the next few days and how many reddit communities get back to me and the amount of traction I can get on tiktok and IG ( debatable as to how much reach we're gonna get on those ), I may open my formal interest form soon.

Neither Reddit communities I've reached out to have let my post see the light of day, so I just may have to cut my losses there.

Anyway, I don't know what steps to exactly take next. Until I get the Formal "Do You Want To Be In The Discord Server While I Work On This" google form out, it's probably just going to be me throwing things onto the wall :,]

Hi ari sorry to ask you this but ik you've been reblogging fundraisers and idk who else to ask 😭😭 how do you know if a fundraiser is trustworthy and stuff? I got a link in my inbox and a separate account also followed and messaged me (idk if I should give the usernames) idk I just find the timing weird ig? I feel really bad for being suspicious about it I'm just scared abt clicking links here and I don't wanna post something that might be a scam yk

no worries ! sorry it took me a while to answer this.

for the most part, as a general rule of thumb - i try not to reblog or post any links i can't verify myself and that haven't been vetted by other trusted palestinian activists which i will list.

some of the main blogs for reliably vetted fundraisers are @/90-ghost @/el-shab-hussein @/ibtisams (previously as i think they have since deactivated) and @/fairuzfan. they will often reblog vetted fundraisers and have them compiled. @/fallahi-fag also has a list of fundraisers though they are currently inactive on their blog in general

some posts will also include their vetted screenshots on reblogs so its worth sifting through and seeing if you can find them.

there is a google doc here compiling vetted masterlists as well as other information that i do my best to cross reference if im uncertain.

there is also currently a masterpost with all of the fake fundraisers that i can't find currently. i will link / rb it once i find it again since for whatever reason the link is lost that you can check against if you're concerned about it in general.

it also helps to keep in mind that people will often send messages to blogs that are currently rbing donation posts to move traction along when donations are slow so its alright i think generally to operate on good faith

Hey Tumbler!!!! This is my first actual post lol, and I wanted to make it me info dumping :3. This is all stuff I wrote about one of my OCs and I hope yall love her as much as I do

(PS there is some swearing so, yeah :D)

Her name is Penny (short for Penelope (NOT IT IS NOT A EPIC REFERENCE)) She/Her and she is a “Straight Christian girl” who just so *happens* to have a “special interest” in the HOTTEST girl in school. She lived her life normally, going to school, getting *average* grades, she when to church on Sunday, the whole chick and kabotal :3. Uhhhhhhhhhhhh, she’s in band (cause of course, what do you take me for? A MONSTER?) and she plays flute :D. She had both of her parents together still, a younger brother named David, and a dog named Goober. You could say she basically had a perfect life, to her it was that at least. She had lots of friends, right? I mean, she was basically one of the most popular girls in school. Well, everyone did know penny, and she was the most popular girl in school for YEAR, until one new girl transferred to their high school. Piper was her name, and DAMN did she gain traction fast. She was initially accepted onto the cheerleading team (that didn’t matter to penny as she was in the marching band ✊) and all of the students started paying attention to HER instead of penny. And Penny was 👏M👏A👏D���. Don’t get me wrong, she has always been in and out of popularity, but something about piper just, AH, but she did know what. After many months of just HATING Piper, she went to go talk to her priest about it. The priest, sounding a bit off from usual, gives her a drink the he says will “calm her down”. She, being told by her mother to always trust the priest, drink the gold-ish drink. Penny feels, find ig? She still DEFINITELY hates Piper, but like, it’s not like a hate hate anymore? She doesn't know how to describe it fully. Anyways she goes home, just, feeling normal per usual. She has dinner with her family, she showers, brushes her teeth, does her whole routine. Something was a little off tho when she started brushes her teeth thought. She had a, tail? No that couldn’t be, she look behind her and it wasn't there. She look back in the mirror and IT WAS THERE AGAIN. “WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON” she said to herself. Just thinking she was so exhausted, she went to bed soundly. The next day she got up LATE in the day. Luckily it was the weekend, so she didn’t really mind. She looked at her alarm clock and it was…. 16:00!!!! JESUS, she normally wakes up at 11 at the latest in the weekends, BUT 4 PM?!?!?!?! She rushed to her bathroom, hoping she wasn't just going crazy, (and to absolutely NO ONES SURPRISE) she looked in the mirror, and her worst nightmare came true. She was a DEMON! She had two long red horns, two scaly wings the size of her arms, and still from yesterday, her tail. She SCREAMED, almost shattering the mirror. Her mother ran upstairs, “honey are you ok?” Said her mom, looking like she just say a ghost. “I’m hideous, oh my god I’m discussing” Penny repeated what felt like a million times. Penny's parents not knowing what the hell to do, take her to the church as that was the last place Penny went to before she went back home. They burst through the church doors, yelling for the priest to help them with there daughter who is sobbing her eyes off. The priest came running out. “Let me take her to the back, I can help her there. You will have to stay here” he states to them, still not fully sounding like himself. He probably just has a cold everyone has been thinking. The priest takes Penny to the back of the church. She stops fully crying, only having a few tears left in her eyes, only to see a SATANIC CIRCLE ON THE GROUND. What was the priest was now a full on demon, looking like he was about to sacrifice Penny! “WAIT, NO PLEASE STOP” she screaming at the demon. “Ooooooooo, so your a screamer huh? The boss is gonna like you” Penny is in absolute shock. The demon can talk? What dose he mean screamer? WHAT BOSS? SATIAN? “WAIT NO, ILL DO ANYTHING, PLEASE” she screams, what feels as if she is ripping her vocal cords apart. The demon freezes, and slowly turns his head towards Penny, with the worlds biggest smirk as if this wasn't his first time doing something like this
