Used to be a stuffy made by Rosie until he ripped it up and made the TARDIS a smaller physical host in order to control and mess with.

KITT-E doesn't need food, water, litter, shots, doesn't get cold, can infact overheat/freeze though. All she needs is loved (and charged sometimes) The TARDIS is connected to her like bluetooth. Her ears have recording speakers that speak directly to the TARDIS and the large ball at the end of her tail is a lightweight circulation battery. (She's also magnetic). Her whiskers are how the TARDIS tells her what to do, and her big camera eyes are how she can see.

KITT-E is NOT water proof (yet, hes working on it) and can meow, purr, hiss, growl, and if she wants too, since she's bassically just a transmitter box, The TARDIS can send telepathic information to the doctor by KITT-E (imagine a hot spot shifting Wifi from one spot to another)

KITT-E technecally is just a host, so if the TARDIS gets too upset or broken, KITT-E will simply collapse. Syliva thinks she's creepy because "It's like a ghost possessing a toy"

So far KITT-E has pawed at doors, meowed for attention, followed 14 around, meowed to be let outside, has been scolded for hissing at the Master several times (she still remembers what he did to her), and sometimes you can see her staring at the bugs in the garden.

The more information the TARDIS gets, the more the cat can do. She also likes to curl up with Sylvia, checks on Rose, follows Shaun around curiously, paws at Donna for attention, and "naps" with Wilf. Which is bassically when she purrs, so he's happy with the vibration and sound setting and goes into battery saver mode. Wilf thinks that KITT-E is absolutely the most impressive thing ever and constantly praises the Doctor for making such gagets. Wilf doesn't call her KITT-E though and will call her TARDIS.

"Here kitty.. TARDIS do you want some of my fish?"

"She can't eat dad."

"Oh. Right. Poor TARDIS. No fish for her huh? Why not?"

"Because.. She dosnt have a stomach? Or a digestive system? She doesn't even have a throat to swallow. Theres just wires and gears dad."

"Oh thats so clever. You're so clever boy."

"Really? Heh.. well...it wasnt that hard."

"Oh I mean it. Shes brilliant. TARDIS do you want to come nap with me?"

Wilf just bends down to look her in the eyes like,

"A nap. With me? Would you like that?"

Gallifreyan Time Lady Reader x ?

Summary: Long ago after having slain Torvic for the tormented bullying he caused, Theta is caught between a rock and a hard place. Forced to make an impossible decision of being Death’s champion or choosing someone else to have that on their shoulders, even the Doctor is surprised by the outcome.

Warning: Betrayal, Back-Stabbing, Violence, Blood & Gore l ANGST

A/N: This came to mind and i wanted to write it. I played off a part of the canon where this happened with the academy era! Doctor and Master back then with the prydonian academy names of Theta Sigma and Koschei Oakdown.

Not even doing things he normally, if his life could even be considered normal, enjoyed could wash away the overwhelming sense of guilt that Theta felt. It had all just become too much and he had done something to stop it because he couldn't just take it anymore. Torvic had always been a bully, not just tormenting him and Koschei but you as well. From the words that would spit out his mouth out loud and under his breath to the physical assaults he would cuase towards others not himself, it was not just intolerable but despicable. Tensions always ran high when you were being tormented, especially ones you love and care about. Mess with a person's loved ones and you might be dealing with the Devil themselves. However, he didn't want to darken everything he is, going down the same path Torvic did. While the fellow Gallifreyan clearly needed to learn not only a sense of humility, but respect as well; it didn't give Theta the right to rip someone's life out of their hands once he held it in their grasp. A family had just lost a son, others had lost a sibling - ... a friend. It was ALL his fault.

It had just happened so fast. He, you, Koschei and Ushas had been just sitting around together on the cascading red grass overlooking a mountain - a sacred place that you three all liked to go together when things got hectic. It was a place to just hang out together and have fun when not doing other things, also to destress and just relax. And Torvic had deliberately of their own free will, chose to not only invade such a special place but then to do the worst things topping all he had done so far.  Perhaps it was vengeance on the other's part because there had been prior attempts to stop his antics and while he had not been apprehended yet, his buddies did. Next thing he knew, a big rock had hit the side of Torvic's head causing the boy to stumble and fall to the ground, an ugly mark left behind on the bully that led to his death - breaths slowly leaving him.  He had ran from that place, wanting to put as much distance from what he had done, as he could. What could never be taken back. He had seen the mixes of shock and horror, unease come from the three of you despite the surge of knowing they were that protected and loved and cared for that someone would kill for them but Theta took someone's life, he k i l l e d someone. Someone who was other's child, was a sibling, had people who would be devasted at their death, the grief alone... That didn't make him any better than Torvic. The bully may have caused hell but how was he any better by snuffing out someone's light? So he ran.. He ran and he ran and he ran. He didn't stop running until the skies went dark and everything had went quiet. Even the slightest intake of breath was almost shattering. He had no idea that for any of you, you were forced home after the body had been discovered, an interrogation started, He had no idea that one of you were covering or going to cover for him, he had no idea that any of you were scouring everything in sight to catch a glimpse, to find him no matter what they might see and what state he might be in due to what he had done. He certainly had no idea of what was about to happen either - but he felt it as soon as it came. An overwhelming sense of dread, horror and unease shooting through his entire body, putting him on edge at the darkness he felt and it was more than just seeing it all around from. Well, from what he could see anyway. After he lost energy after countless hours of running with no idea how long he had been gone for now, he cried and broke down, punching and kicking at the trees to feel even an inch of something. He could still see Torvic's dried blood on his hands from where the heavy rock had bashed into the young Gallifreyan boy's head. The damage was so unmistakable that when it happened, you heard a sickening crack. Clenching and unclenching his fists as he took shaky breath after shaky breath to raim calm and composed, to not seem as edgy on the outside as he was on the inside, he finally spoke., tone of voice curious yet deadly sharp, "I know something is out there. No use making your presence known if you're not going to show yourself completely." Nothing... just pure and complete utter silence. Then every nerve in his being stung and he could feel it - an emptiness. Whipping around, he saw an outline of a figure emerging from the shadows, the figure incased in all black with hints and trails of smoke wisping all-around at every edge. The voice was neither identifiable either, it could have been a Timelord / Timelady themselves but they were tall n all black forming fitting clothes from head to toe, even their face covered and a cloak billowing out from behind them and at their sides. You could smell the d e a t h on them because that's who they were : It was Death in the flesh. An overwhelming sense of fear but not wanting to display it out of fearing weak, Theta slowly remarked, "Who are you?... What do you want?" More silence and then as if debating how to response from the tilt of where their head was, the voice spoke. "Oh... tsk tsk, is that any way to treat a guest? my my, seems like your species is but one of many that show a lack of decorum..", the voice coming from the figure, Theta can see it coming closer and he inwardly breathes to try and face the being at it's equal. "You know who.. or rather, what i am. Come on..", he feels the being at his neck and he involuntarily shivers. Such a place was an intimate area but he felt the complete opposite of intimacy. "Death.. You're Death.", he remarked, stepping forward and then turning around to look at the figure once more, not wanting it out of its sight. Was it here because of... He violently shook his head just as Death nodded, as if the being knew his train of thought. "You know, i must admit... I love me a baddie. The way you took that rock and... " Death said and Theta winced, "Pop went his head like needle to a balloon. Tell me, how did having the power to give or take someone's life feel? Now me, i am Eternal so i can take life but you, you could have given it back." Theta violently shook his head, "I hated it. I hated it from the moment it happened. Torvic could have faced countless other repercussions, he didn't have to die." He turned away then, not caring if anything happened when his back was turned. Perhaps that is what he deserved. He heard a dark chuckle behind him as he gazed at the sky of his home planet of Gallifrey. "You impress me. Ones far older and far stronger than you do such things as that and they find the beauty in it but you... you throw away the potential you could have. Imagine how it would be, away from all that guilt. All you could do with what you did earlier, not limited to one way." "No!.." "Yes-" "I said no!" "Are you challenging me boy?" "Not in the slightest but i'm telling you no!" "You haven't even heard what i was going to say yet." Death cooed, dangerous intent on their voice like they were going to speak for why they'd came after their little row of snarling and pleading and taunting back and forth. "I know so dont waste your breath. YOu want me to kill more people is that it? to cause more misery.?!" Theta yelled as he roughly messed with his hands, the blood of Torvics having dried, he could feel the indentation of the rock from when he held it so tight. He knew he heard that crack because he used all his strength and he knew Torvic is dead and not coming back not just because Death itself was here, taunting and tormenting him aside from taking the boy from his dead boy. "I can make all that pain go away Theta.. all you have to do is ask.", Death challenged, a smirk spreading across their facial features. They had a good feeling about this one from the previous few and far between attempts. This one has real potential. They lock eyes or rather Theta at the figure, not able to make any definite features just that they had a human-like frame, tall and shrouded in black empty darkness. "Ask what..", Theta wasn't playing stupid but he wanted the being to go away. Let him wallow in his own guilt until he could force his way back home and deal with everything to come because he was not a coward who tried to get out of things.. Well, except this.SUrely this was an exception, anything would be better than this. "Feel like making a deal with the Devil? Well not the Devil, perhaps an equivalent but all the same." Theta looked confused but Death continued, "A disciple who follows after their leader right? ... Become mine. Become my disciple, my champion if i find you special enough. Live in my eyes and soon enough, all the guilt will wash away and you will come to live as me. You might even enjoy it.. Theta shakes his head, refusing to even entertain that idea, "You're not going to trick me, i won't do it, I said before and i stand by that now. Just go away!" Death remained still; "I could... but where's the fun in that? Someone has to take the memory of kiling that boy and seeing as the memory is too traumatic for you.." This is where Theta makes his second mistake, caught between a rock and a hard place not wanting anyone else to suffer but trying to get out of this guilt at the same time so he says one of his own best friends name which makes the dark being known as Death start to laugh, an eerie sort of sound that echoes and rings in Theta's ears, a sound he doesnt think he cold ever forget. "You would put your own best friend Koschei, who has enough misery with the sound of the drums in his head and everything else he goes through and throw  that on top him." "You know i don't want to." "Oh, i see it on your face, i know you dont want to . but why do then, why choose to put your best friend through that? Because you're more important?" "I know i am not! Torvic may have been hell but this? He didn't deserve this. He didn't deserve to have his life snuffed out because i just had to be someone more scary then him by bashing his brains in. I know it was wrong, that's why i have the guilt. Is that what you want me to feel? to feel guilt? There is no point trying to get me to feel something i already do and Koschei doesn't deserve to have a memory of something he didn't do, placed in his head. There is enough in there." "One might think you're a coward, not strong enough to deal with the memory so you would have the guilt on someone else who didn't do it just because you dont want to face what you've done and you know what? Between you, Koschei, Ushas and Y/N", it could be blamed on any of them... Wouldn't you like to know who? It will surprise you, not me. I tend to be in the loop of everything because i'm always around. I never leave, im like an itch you cant scratch." Theta's eyes narrowed, "What did you do?", they remarked, a dangerous steely tone to their voice, gritting their teeth as they eyed their figure.Balling their fists in what was a contrast for a previous reason, Death responded in only what could be described a smug why don't you find out yourself but they let the scream that erupted speak for themselves. Instantly, Theta bolted towards the sound, not stopping his running until he reached the source. You. You were writhing on the ground of your home around your family who were close and bits away. Your hair was flailing as you shrieked, tears falling down your cheeks as you pushed hands away, people who were only trying to help. Others were covering their mouths and their ears, some trying to escape the disturbing sight. Almost as if you weren't you anymore, your voice quieted from the words it had spoken, 'No, no get away from me!" , "Stop it, don't touch me." , "I will kill you, i dont want to.. please stay away." , "No please, im sorry please forgive me. I didn't mean to, im sorry. Im sorry!", "Bring him back, he didnt deserve it despite what he did.", to even more heartsbreakingly, "I'm a monster.. please make this stop. Dont make him suffer on my account." and some more phrases. Who was him? Torvic who died, YOu who had ran that it was going to be blamed on. Your parents were trying to hold you back from where you were beating your fists against them, using all your strength to run, to never stop running like he Theta had intented to. "My head, oh my head.." You were being held back by Koschei and Ushas. Them trying to help in the best way they could, wishing they could do anything. Your eyes and theirs, few had flashed to Theta as he entereds and people were going to speak with him. ALl of a sudden, almost as if there were a changei n the air as Theta entered and the dark being that only hid itself from the boy's eyes were around where you were. Too quick to catch unless you looked close enough, your eyes went pure black before you collapsed unconscious in Theta's arms as you both fell to the floor. Koschei and Ushas kneel to the ground, the latter checking your pulse. Koschei remarks, "Where did you go? YOu ran off after..." he and Theta shared a look which caused Koschei to quiet. They were going to speak later when the other adults were not around. Behind them all a silent figure only showing itself to Theta who glared intensely at the being. Time passed of you being put to bed, looking peaceful which was a stark contrast to how you were earlier. Hair tumbling and body contorting, hands at your head, tears down your cheeks and look of agonous pain on your face, now you were lying on your bed still looking gentle, so fragile. "What the hell have you done?", Theta remarked quietly under his breath as he spoke to the being, Death answered, "You couldn't bare the pain of what you did so you requested instead of being my disciple, to put the memory on someone else. I did what you asked." "I didn't ask for this and you know it." "No, you had said Koschei... and telling by that mark on your face, neither he or the look Ushas gave you, told you they were pleased." "Take it back..", he pleaded, glancing up at the figure. "No.." "II said take it back!" "No. "You take it back right now." "Guilt is inescapable ________________", Death responded, speaking Theta's REAL name. "You brought this on yourself the moment you took that boys life. You can either have the guilt of doing it or stick with your choice of putting someone else through that. You made your choice. I won't change it for you just because its on the girl you love. " Right as the figure disappears, Theta throws something big at it's direction but it hits the wall and shatters. He covers his head in his hands, taking yours in his as he glances at your face, "I'm sorry. I am so so sorry." He would fix this, he would make things right and as he turned to see an unhappy Koschei, Ushas AND Romana ; they nodded. They now have work to do.

I love the idea of a Marauders afterlife. Purely because

A) there are a lot of people who have a lot of very violent things to say to Wormtail. And if you think Sirius is the one he should be scared of, you are INCORRECT. It’s Lily, followed closely by Mrs Potter, then James, then probably Tonks honestly, but more because I reckon Mr Potter is chill as hell and she’d take the betrayal of her cousin/maurader-in-laws very seriously.

B) Wormtail tries to butter up Fred. ‘I’m Scabbers, see, look, we’re family’. He wouldn’t even comprehend that Fred is one half of the Weasley troublemakers, a giant Harry Potter supporter and a full blooded redhead. Fred punches him in the face, a) for betrayal, b) how dare a middle aged man sleep in the same bed as his younger brother

C) Alice and Frank Longbottom! Finally passing away! Regaining their lost and broken memories! Talking to old friends! Seeing Neville happy! Reminiscing with the Potters about their boys! Lily telling Alice that don’t worry, I’ll fill you in on everything, we watched out for him too!

D) Tonks. And. Lily. I don’t care if you’re canon or shipping but imagine. Lily knows all their darkest fears and their most humiliating moments. There is literally NO ONE more likely to convince Tonks to turn into Snape at any random time and just pop out around corners. Not that she needs much convincing.

E) Snape. Gosh you think Wormtail is in trouble? Wait til James get his hands on Snape. I DONT CARE THAT YOU LOVED HER HOW DARE YOU BULLY MY SON LIKE THAT. Sirius stands there, smirking, because he knows James terrifies Snape (also imagine that James was what, 19? 20? when he died. Sirius looks younger in the afterlife, so what does Snape reverse to? Is he an old, gaunt man or a skinny 25y-o?). But he knows what’s coming next is so much worse, and that’s Lily slapping him cold across the face. No firey temper or sharp tongue. No reprimands. Just stone cold rage.

F) FRED AND THE MAURADERS. Imagine he comes through the veil, sees some friends, is comforted blah blah and the he sees James and he’s like

‘Harry? You can’t be here!’ All in a panic and James just goes

‘Nah mate I’m Prongs’ with a shit eating grin on his face. And he watches Fred put all the pieces together - he’s seen Lily, she’s easy to pick with the hair and Harry’s eyes, and he knows Sirius and Lupin and Tonks but this bloke looks like Harry and he’s holding Lily’s hand and it clicks

Padfoot, Moony, Wormtail and Prongs. Harry’s patronus. Harry’s dad is Prongs. Sirius turns into a dog, Moony is a fucking werewolf pun. A dude just turned into a rat claiming he was Fred’s family. And he immediately goes ‘oh Harry you fucker’ followed by

‘OI YOU TWO FUCKERS‘ directed at Lupin and Sirius and Lily is like

‘Whomp there is it’ grinning her head off knowing that there is a fourth Maurader for a bit. At least until George gets there.

(When George arrives, before he can greet anyone, he drags his brother off by the collar and points the Mauraders out with the kind of venom that can only come from waiting 60 years to tell your twin such important information)

I expect there are people that want to say things to him. Very nasty things. His mother and sister for one. Probably Lily and James for two. Definitely Fred for three. Then Lily again.

‘You dropped my son off? On a doorstep?’

H) Regulus in NO WAY expects to be greeted warmly but what do you know. When he finds his brother, Sirius kind of just appraises him and goes

‘Well look maybe you aren’t all that bad’ *voice gets very soft, Sirius looks away* ‘sorry for always assuming you were a dick’

James, from like, a kilometre away, yells

‘SORRY WHAT DID YOU SAY? WAS THAT AN APOLOGY? DID SIRIUS BLACK JUST APOLOGISE?’ And he completely ruins the moment but also diffuses a lot of tension.

I) ANDROMEDA LOVING TEDDY TO PIECES AND SEEING TONKS AFTER AND BEING SO HAPPY AND TONKS JUST BAWLING HER THANKS. Lily is not present for that conversation, because that should have been what her son got, too.

J) Narcissa getting a relatively warm reception? And it’s so odd? Lily meets her at the train station and shakes her hand? And it’s this weird, mutually respectful relationship. It’s not forgiveness, per se, but it is a shared understanding of what a mother will do for her child.

K) Going all out, good grief, imagine the hell Petunia gets when she gets there. Oof.

L) LILY AND JAMES THANKING ARTHUR AND MOLLY AND HAGRID FOR BEING HARRYS FAMILY NO MATTER WHAT. Lily and James eventually meeting Rob and Hermione and Lily just falls into Ron sobbing bc really Ron was the mum friend, and James is crying while he hugs Hermione so, so tight. And neither of them are expecting it, they were just...raised well. And Harry is their friend. And they didn’t even realise it was such a big deal (mostly bc they were so young). Arthur and Molly do. They always, always do.

M) And finally, 893 years later when Minerva agrees that yes, maybe the afterlife sounds nice now (we all know Death comes for her and she tells him to go away for another century. And he listens.), she arrives. Greeted with Sirius, James, Lupin, Lily, Tonks and Fred, all standing there, waiting for her. All these kids that she probably taught, most of whom were in her house, all of whose lives were cut far, far too short. These young people who she loves so dearly, but was also constantly deeply exhausted and exasperated by. And they’re all grinning at her, waiting.

Unofficial Mal’s Voice Guide

By request I'm doing a quick guide to how I write Mal's speech! He's a lot of fun to write but it took me ages to figure out how to get across how he speaks, so here are some of the sort of rules I tend to follow. Also check this out if you didn’t see it already! Kate very kindly gave some advice on voice for fic writing XD

Accent: Spelling everything phoentically would get confusing but there's a couple of words I nearly always do, usually taken from the comic. The most important thing is readability though, if every single word is full of apostrophes it can get hard to parse, so if I’m struggling to read through I’ll leave some words with standard spelling. These are the most common ones I do

you/your/you’re - ye / yer / y’ (whatever sounds most natural reading it back)

for - fer

the - th’

to - t’

that - tha’

drops the g on -ing words

it’s - ‘s (pretty sure he almost always does this in canon but I dont’ use it lot just because it looks confusing when next to speech marks)

them / him / he - ‘em / ‘im / ‘e (again, can be confusing with speech marks and doesn’t always sound right, seems to depend on surrounding sounds?)

I’m - ‘m

had - ‘ad

Word choice: There’s also a couple of words I tend to use just cause they sound like him to me

I don’t think he calls Enid by anything in the comic but I usually have him use Ma

Exclamations: I definitely make him more foulmouthed than in the comic and if you like doing the same there’s quite a lot that fits him! These are what I think I use most, plus various sounds:

(Also, I like to give characters different filler words if possible so my Wolfe’s main exclamation / filler sound is ‘ah’ and he slows down when he doesn’t know what to say, while Ben is more like ‘hm?’ and repeats himself until he gets there, that’s just me though lol)

General: I think I generally give him quite short sharp sentences, unless he’s really emotional when it runs on a bit more. I can hardly ever get him to say what he means, until he’s really worked up and then he tends to say quite a bit more than planned! Dashes are usually my friend with him! I’m not sure how that compares to how he talks in canon. It definitely took a while for me to settle into it, even now I feel I could probably do better with him, but it does start to feel more natural so keep trying even if it feels strange at first! Hope this is of some use, and happy fic writing!

My oldest friendship dates back to Kindergarten. His name is Joshua, he gave me a flower, and told me I was pretty. I still talk to and hang out with him. I tease him a lot because I’m older than him by 7 months but he’s like;;; 6’ tall? I love him with all my heart though. We��ve been through a lot of shit together.

My current IRL best friend I met my freshman year; her sophomore year of high school. We actually only passed by eachother during passing period, but we both had the same nerdy Doctor Who bag. I had said I like her backpack and she was about to say thanks, but she burst into laughter after she saw we had the same bag. A few weeks later we were both cast in our school’s first musical of the year and she hasn’t been able to get rid of me since. We’ve gone through almost too much together if I’m being honest…

We’ve both been through our separate traumas over the course of that year, but we were there for eachother. She’s been my only constant over this year and I would do anything for her.

Okay. So. Everyone knows that I love Keith, I’d do anything for him, so naturally we’re partners. “There is no way you two aren’t twins.” If I remember, I think Lance said that.

Anyway, in the dream, this was before they left Earth. Keith and I were in the shack going over our cork board filled with papers/files stolen from the Garrison, photographs of the strange markings on the cave wall, the rock formations in the desert, and all of this string; we’re covering the board trying to figure out what the hell pulled us out in the middle of the desert. All the sudden there was a flash of light and a huge BOOM. Naturally we both ran outside and saw an alien space craft entering the atmosphere. My first thought of course “I’m taking my hoverbike and explosives from the back.” “I’m taking mine to see what the fuck is in that ship.”

I set off the explosives and get the fuck out of there. It all goes as canon but I’m riding next to Keith on my hoverbike while he has 4 other people on his bike. Im dying from laughter and Keith just looks pissed but then we get to the cliff and we’re both ecstatic about it while 3 of the 5 on his bike scream in terror. The rest goes as canon but I’m tagging along and adding in my 2 cents in every now and again.

When we go to look for Red, Keith can’t get a clear feel for him. Keith knows the general area he’s going to be in but can not figure out which hangar Red is in. Suddenly theres like this ping in my head and I grab his upper arm and start pulling him to the hangar Red is in. We’re both relieved as fuck and Keith goes up to him and asks for entry and Red denies, I look over and see all the soldiers running toward us and start backing the fuck up. “RED OPEN THE FUCK UP!” still no entry, Keith opens the hangar door sucking everything out into space. We’re both freaking the fuck out cause what the hell do we do?! Red comes in. Keith is in the pilot’s seat; I’m standing next to him cause what else am I supposed to do??

Then I woke up.

The Cameras We Love With Stunning JPEG Images

If you like to shoot for the JPEG and want a camera that will let you back away from photo editing, these are the cameras worth a look.

We recently posted an opinion piece about why you should shoot for the JPEG instead of the RAW. RAW files certainly have their place, and they can allow all manner of edits during post-processing, but not all photographers want to spend countless hours behind their computers: they’d much rather be out shooting. After all, this is what we love to do more than anything. If you’re a photographer who wants to break free from the rigors of editing images, and you just want to shoot and enjoy the images you create, the cameras we rounded up after the break are the ones you need to take a closer look at.

There is no don’t about it; when it comes to getting the absolute most out of your images, editing the RAW files your camera produces is the way to go. Having complete control over your images is great, but it can also be incredibly time-consuming. Unless I am shooting for a client, I find myself aiming to shoot for the JPEG more often than not these days. It’s such a nice feeling to know I don’t have to edit pics every time I take my camera out. Image processors inside modern cameras are incredibly powerful: they can work wonders with your images. When you also consider the film simulations and art filters many manufacturers now include in their cameras, it makes even more sense to have fun with the JPEGS your camera can produce.

Shoot for the JPEG With Fujifilm’s X Pro 3

When it comes to cameras that produce mind-blowing JPEGS, the Fujifilm X-Pro 3 tops the list. This beautiful, 26.1 megapixel, rangefinder-style camera is packed with gorgeous film simulations that can give your images a unique look right out of the camera. You can mimic some of Fujifilm’s emulsions (Provia, Acros, Velvia, Classic Chrome and more) right out of the box, which means you will love the images it produces and you’ll never have to step near a computer for photo editing if you don’t wish to. When you need the screen, it’s a bit of an annoyance; like when photographing a portrait subject in motion

Touchscreen menu navigation should be on this camera

Enhancing the clarity makes the camera take extra time to render the image

The battery life in long term use is about on par with the new Sony Z batteries

For street shooting, the wide and tracking AF area still lets you select a zone, but it shouldn’t. This can throw off shooting in real-life street situations

Shooting from the hip? You may accidentally hit the function button and not the shutter release

Exposure dial needs a locking mechanism

Multiple Exposure mode saves the final images only as JPEGs

Shoot for the JPEG With the Olympus OMD E-M1 III

Like Fujifilm, Olympus has been bundling unique and creative filters into their cameras for many years. The JPEGS from the E-M1 III are always fantastic, but they can be even better when used in conjunction with filters such as Monochrome, Vintage, Pop Art, Grainy Film, Pinhole, Diorama, and more. We called the E-M1 III a travelers gem, so if you want a camera that can come along with you on your travels and produce images that don’t need to be touched, check out the Olympus E-M1 III. Here are the pros and cons from our full review:

Pros

Feels nice when shooting for a long time

We like the shutter sound

Good continuous autofocus which does tracking

The processor is fantastic

The art filters continue to make Olympus unique amongst other camera brands. Shooting surfers with the cross-process and the vintage filter was so fun. Same with grainy black and white.

Live composite is so incredibly pleasant, along with Starry AF

The custom shooting mode switch on the back is something every adventure brand should have

Shoot for the JPEG With the Ricoh GR III

In our review, we said that the JPEG images that came from the Ricoh GR III were so good that the option to be able to shoot in DNG simply wasn’t needed. The color profile simulations that can be used to enhance your images are simply fantastic, and we were overjoyed with the results out of the box. If you want a pocket-friendly APS-C camera that’s perfect for street photography with its 28mm f2.8 lens, the GR III is the way to go. Here are the pros and cons from our full review:

We are smitten with the JPEGs and the color profile simulations

Pro Tip: When you shoot for the JPEG, the files your camera produces will be much smaller in size when compared to RAW files, but don’t get lulled into a false sense of security because you can still fill an SD card up quite quickly with JPEG images. Always make sure that you have plenty of spare SD cards in your camera bag or on your person so that you always have more storage space for when you max out a card, or if one becomes corrupted.

Shoot for the JPEG With Canon’s EOS M6 Mk II

The Canon EOS M6 II stole our JPEG loving heart when we reviewed it at the end of 2019. We love the form factor, the 32.5 megapixel sensor is the largest available in any APS-C platform, and it is capable of greatness. Couple it with the image processor that turns out clean, colorful JPEG images that are full of detail, and you have a winner on your hands. Every image in our review was a JPEG straight from the camera: that’s how much we loved the output from the Canon M6 II. Here are the pros and cons from our full review:

Shoot for the JPEG With the Olympus OMD EM5 Mark III

You can expect the same great quality JPEG images from the Olympus E-M5 III as you can from the company’s E-M1 III and E-M1 II thanks to the same sensor, and inclusion of all of the great art filters. The biggest difference is that the E-M5 III is smaller, lighter, and quite a bit cheaper. We loved the gorgeous retro styling of the Olympus E-M5 III, we lauded the weather sealing, and of course, we loved the images it could produce. If you want a Mirrorless camera that has a small form factor and that can pump out great images when you shoot for the JPEG, the E-M5 III might be for you. Shoot for the JPEG With the Leica TL2

When we first got our hands on the Leica TL2, we weren’t quite sure what to make of it, but soon we found out that this little gem of a camera was very good. While we weren’t blown away with the versatility of the RAW files, we loved the JPEGS that this 24.3 Megapixel APS-C Leica produced. The build quality is excellent as you would expect, and it can fire of 7fps with the mechanical shutter and 20fps with the electronic shutter. Pair this camera up with some great L mount glass, get the exposure right in-camera, and enjoy the results that the JPEGS will give you. It’s that simple. It would be remiss of us to forget about the little Fujifilm that could; the Fujifilm X-T30. This camera is small in size, but it packs a big punch. The little brother to the X-T3 features the same 26.1 Megapixel X-Trans sensor as the X-T3 and the X-Pro 3, and it features all of those glorious Fujifilm simulations as well. Shoot for the JPEG and X-T30 will allow you to back away from the computer and spend more time out shooting, which is what we all want to do. Here are the pros and cons from our full review:
