And here it is! My first fully completed Procreate Dreams animation. I used audio from one of Technoblade’s more famous rants during his Potato War series. I love Technoblade and miss him every day, so I hope that I was able to capture the magic of his energy in my animation.

I animated the roughs and drew the backgrounds in Procreate, but then I imported that into Dreams to do all the cleanup. It runs at 24 fps, but there’s a lot of variations to spice it up in there.

I wanted to really challenge myself so there’s a LOT going on in this short 9 second clip. There’s a camera move with multiple layers to achieve a subtle parallax scroll, there’s two lighting changes with one being a completely animated shadow layer, and there’s a warp effect on the curtains for when it opens and closes.

There’s still a lot that could be cleaned up. Some of the linework is a little more jittery than I would prefer, and the coloring process was awful. Every color was its own separate layer, which was exhausting to do. I really hope i can figure out a faster and easier way to do the coloring process because that took me over a week to complete! Yikes!

Overall I’m extremely proud of my work here. I’ve been working on this 9 second clip since Dreams released and I really wanted to showcase to everyone just how powerful Dreams is. I know a lot of people were complaining about it when it released and I wanted to do something to help reorient people’s expectations. I genuinely cannot believe that I did all of this on my iPad!

Techno: Wait– what the heck is that?

Phil: An End Crystal, he was about to use that to yeet someone.

Techno: [Laughs]

Grunks (?): Techno is not aware of the 2B2T culture, I see...

Fit: Ohhh.

Techno: Uh, I am not.

Phil: You see the obsidian he placed down over there next to that plane?

Techno: Yeah?

Phil: That was gonna be a blast radius of like, a huge Creeper– charged Creeper explosion.

Techno: Oh snap.

Phil: You know when you fight the Dragon and those towers have the explosive bits on the top?

Techno: Yeah?

Phil: Yeah, he's holding- he's holding one of those explosive bits.

Techno: I'm just gonna get launched.

Phil: I can't see him.

Squidkid: HE'S HOLDING NETHER CRYSTALS!

Phil: OHHH!!!

Squidkid: He's holding Nether crystals!

Ranboo: Wait, is he trying to Nether Crys– Or wait– is he trying to End Crystal us?

Techno: [Lying] I don't know how to do that!

Squidkid: If he tries, half of his dogs are gonna disappear!

Ranboo: [Overlapping with Squidkid] You're right, he wouldn't know how to do THAT.

Techno: More dogs, Chat! More dogs! It's the only way!

This is just me trying my damndest to rationalise inkling development, mainly how all the guts move around in the body. The internal anatomy is pretty rough, but it gets my point across.

All Inkfish hatch with only four limbs, but they eventually grow more as they get older. This totals to 8 in octolings and 10 in inklings.

the digestive and respiratory tracts are also completely separate from each other up until around age 2-3, where the trachea and esophagus fuse together and inkfish then gains the ability to speak.

Very young paralarvae are fed bits of meat as it's all they can really digest as their digestive tracts are rather short. However as the torso develops, the intestines also elongate which makes it a lot easier for the little squid to digest tougher things (like cellulose/plants and other junk). It opens up a lot more dietary options too.

They will have no problem chewing anything though, as they have very powerful and sharp beaks right from birth. And kids LOVE to chew on things, so hide your computer charger and keys. Even worse when you've got a squid with sucker claws, it's like having a boneless cat with a hyperactivity disorder and a can opener for a mouth. Nightmares.

I always thought it was a glitch when Halsin and Jaheira appeared in this scene, but maybe the tadpoles are getting stronger. Or maybe even tadpoles are capable of character growth and are now considering non-tadpole people part of the tadpole gossip family???????

Love how it was the ol' folks of the team that the tadpoles snitched to. Maybe they were all awake at the time. Having a 'back in my day' or 'kids these days' chat.

So part 2. USUALLY. I try to separate my patch 0 play to any patch 5+ plot-hole fixes. Because when nobody said ANYTHING after the tadpoles snitched on Greygold's ass, I had to play the rest of the game while going on a whim of my own interpretation of that WTF moment.

Had to surmise that maybe squid buddy somehow convinced everyone it was 'just a dream', so nobody wanted to talk about it. So. At least I wasn't too far off???

But, after hearing officially that the Emperor did a 'you-didn't-see-that' jedi trick, I thought of a funny so. I made an exception.
