With several of the members (Mister Sinister banished to The Pit, Nightcrawler left Krakoa and the psychic mutants are unable to vote) absent from the meeting, the Quiet Council are in shambles. There is more tension when Colossus works with Sebastian Shaw to install Selene on the Quiet Council. Mystique and Destiny's relationship are starting to strain when they question each other with doubts. Hope Summers was too impatient to come out of the quarantine and rejoin the Quiet Council that she fights with Rasputin IV. Colossus is still under psychic control at the hands of Mikhail Rasputin, but he tries ''desperately'' for Captain Kate Pryde or Storm to notice how blatantly not himself he is and do something to stop him. Unfortunately, no one notices him.

The Uncanny X-Men #189 - Two Girls Out to Have Fun!

Rachel and Amara are in New York City, admiring the buildings from the Statue of Liberty. Rachel thinks about her life in the alternate future where she has been trained to hunt mutants for humans. She cries, but tells Amara she just has something in her eyes. They decide to go to the Met to see art and to go shopping.

Elsewhere in the harbor, on a huge ship, the X-Men are wishing Storm farewell. She has decided to leave the X-Men since she no longer has her powers (see issue #185). She is returning to Africa, where she grew up. There are tears, hugs, and champagne as the ship gets ready to depart.

Also in New York, Jaime Rodriguez stops a couple of guys from trying to steal the necklace he found (see last issue). The necklace starts speaking to him again. It asks for Jaime's soul and in return, the necklace will (somehow) give Jaime "the world." Jaime screams "No!" and vows to get rid of the necklace.

At the Met, Rachel and Amara look at ancient Roman art and artifacts. Suddenly, Rachel psychically senses familiar thought patterns from someone nearby. It's Selene! Amara is angry to hear that Selene is nearby, as Selene is the woman who killed Amara's mother. Amara wants revenge. Rachel and Amara follow Selene's thought patterns to a nearby mansion, which they sneak inside. They find maids outfits and change into them to disguise themselves.

Meanwhile, in secret catacombs beneath the mansion, Selene meets with Sebastian Shaw. She wants to be the new Black Queen of the Hellfire Club!

Selene demonstrates her powers to Shaw, and he is very impressed. He feels like he has little choice but to accept Selene as the new Black Queen. Selene says she will return with a gift for Shaw, and she disappears.

Upstairs, Rachel senses Selene coming closer. Rachel sees Selene around a corner! She hits Selene with a psi-bolt, and Selene is down on the ground, unconscious. But then "Selene" transforms. It was Amara all along! And the REAL Selene comes up behind Rachel and grabs her by the throat. Selene places Rachel in a sort of trance so that she has to obey Selene. She does the same to Amara. Then, Selene returns to Sebastian Shaw with the entranced, slave-like Rachel and Amara as his "gifts." Shaw is shocked to see Rachel's resemblance to Jean Grey and he wonders if Rachel too possesses the power of the Phoenix.

Inside their minds, Rachel psychically works to free herself and Amara from Selene's powers. In the process, Amara gets angry at all the psychic intrusions and transforms into Magma. Magma melts a statue of Selene and causes an earthquake. This snaps Rachel and Amara/Magma out of Selene's trance, and back to the real world.

Back in the real world, Magma is also creating an earthquake. Shaw tells Selene to stop Magma, and Rachel psychically calls out for Professor Xavier's help. Soon after, Nightcrawler, Rogue, Colossus, and the Professor's astral form show up.

Nightcrawler teleports Selene away. Magma wants Selene back so she can kill her, but the Professor says his students do not kill. Magma calms down. The Professor confronts Shaw and Shaw says he has no quarrel with the X-Men, and that he was not the one responsible for taking Rachel and Amara. The team is able to leave without a fight.

Elsewhere, Jaime is attacked by another man in the subway. The man finds the necklace Jaime was carrying and picks it up. The necklace causes a huge fire and burns the man. A voice rings out -

"At last Kulan Gath is free! After countless centuries, my destiny is at hand -- to make this world mine forever!"

Currently rotting, so I present:

The Quiet Council playing Minecraft

Charles: Tries to establish a community with order and rules, fails horribly. Forgets that it's just a game and gets way too involved in Minecraft Server Politics. Eventually just closes the server.

Erik: Hangs out with Ororo. Illyana or Beto probably showed him the game so he knows what he's doing, but he's here to relax. Way too sick of Charles to help him.

Apocalypse: Uses his Celestial tech to play because his hands are too large for normal human tech. Still can't run shaders.

Irene: Sits by Raven and tells her what she needs to do. Just happy to lay her head on her wife's shoulder, and to ruin Charles's day.

Raven: Gets competitive, immediately wants the best gear. Keeps stealing Charles's stuff when Irene tells her he won't notice. Describes the beautiful things she sees in detail to Irene and builds a flower garden for them both.

Nathaniel: Spends the entire time making his skin. When he does get into the game, he griefs Charles's house and then harrasses Apocalypse with TNT. Eventually gets bored, sets his game to creative, and blows up everything.

Emma: Collects all the types of cats and spends time building a beautiful base with Kate. As in, Kate gets the resources and builds the base, while Emma gives directions and adds details

Kate: Pretty good at the game. Harrasses Shaw and griefs his village. Loves resource gathering and mining.

Sebastian: Spends his time levelling up villagers and turning them to zombies + curing them so he gets the best deals.

Selene: Doesn't understand the villagers are NPCs, so she sets up a cult in a village to worship her. Secretly, she gets a little attached to them. She also builds plenty of Iron Golems.

Hope: Probably a Minecraft pro. Basically speedruns the best gear and farms while dragging Bennet along with her. At first, she tells Bennet to get her resources, but after he keeps getting lost/dying she just does it herself.

Bennet: Has no idea what's going on, but follows Hope around and does what she says. Easily gets lost without her. He likes the armor and weapons, he feels like a knight again.

Piotr: Collects a bunch of animals, and has an army of dogs. I imagine he names them after flowers and dyes their collars to match. Of course sets up large farms.

Kurt: Doesn't really know how to play the game. Tries to help Charles at first, but eventually goes out on his own or helps Piotr on his farms.

Ororo: Hangs out with Erik. Charles kept asking her to help him build a community but she was more interested in building and mining with Erik.

Jean: Knows how to play through Rachel and Teen Cable. Probably tries to sneak Scott onto the server but he says no. Also tries to help Charles but gets sick of him.

Doug: Secretly competing with Hope. Failing miserably, but he's still having a great time.

Krakoa: Asking Doug questions about the game. Eventually tries to recreate Minecraft biomes on the island. It becomes a major emergency because suddenly skeletons and zombies are appearing at night and attacking mutants.
