oikawa tooru big fan of puzzles. thinking about how dedicated he is to his craft like he works so hard to be good at what he does he opens a puzzle and locks tf in. pieces scattered across the table his formula is corners first then all the edges he builds the frame then he starts at the bottom and works up. if any of the pieces come stuck together he breaks them apart immediately and mixes them in he does not take shortcuts he likes a challenge. they completely consume him like hyperfocus to the max once he starts he can’t stop glasses on hunched over the table puzzling away. he generally doesn’t keep them once he’s finished he lets it sit for a bit takes a picture for his records then disassembly begins with little to no fanfare he doesn’t really need people to know (unless it’s a BIG puzzle then it goes on his instagram story) it’s just something he does for him he can focus for a while it gives him a sense of accomplishment and he stretches really well afterward. his favorites are pictures of places like scenic shots of nature or cities and puzzles of famous artworks like monet or van gogh or hokusai but if a puzzle comes into his possession he’s doing it at some point no matter what the picture is.
hanamaki takahiro never finished puzzles. he likes them in theory and is super excited to start them but gets bored or distracted within an hour and walks away. he works on them intermittently for a week or so while they sit and collect dust and are inevitably put away before they get finished. his attention span just isn’t long enough anything more than 50 pieces isn’t getting done. the only ones he ever finishes are the 3d like moving puzzles with the ridged pieces the ones that hurt to look at they’re usually less pieces and he likes the texture and they’re stupid pictures he completes them and picks them up of the table then crumples them apart. he really likes the idea of puzzles just doesn’t usually like them in practice, they’re too time consuming need too much focus and he’s a busy man with too much other shit to get into.
matsukawa issei is not a fan of puzzles. like he’ll help put together a piece or two if someone else is working on one but will never go out of his way to assemble a puzzle like he doesn’t care they’re not his thing he’s bored already. however he is a big fan of brain teaser/fidget puzzles like wooden puzzle cubes and puzzle boxes and metal knot things. he knows how to solve a rubik’s cube can do it in under 2 minutes no biggie he doesn’t even own one himself he just goes “can i try” whenever he sees one and flies through it. he can even solve one with his eyes closed just looks at it for a minute shuts his eyes boom solved. all these give him something to do with his hands conventional puzzles are too much sitting still and looking he needs to fidget or straight up not move none of this half and half nonsense.
iwaizumi hajime completely impartial when it comes to puzzles. he’ll help oikawa on one if he’s asked to but never seeks puzzles out he gets the appeal they’re just not for him personally. he saw a comic book puzzle one time that was really cool but that’s the extent of his interest tbh. iwaizumi isn’t a huge fan of sit down activities that aren’t competitive (anti puzzle pro video game) but as nerdy as it sounds has always been a fan of reading . graphic novels real books even the newspaper something about it is engaging and relaxing enough at the same time for him to sit still for an extended period of time. middle aged married iwaoi on weekends tooru does a puzzle at the table while hajime sits on the couch and reads a book they’re both wearing glasses they take a break at 2pm to take a nap together and go on a walk then are back at it by 4.

A Lilith character study about Lucilith
Lilith thinks about how her husband would die for her, she'd kill for him and how their experiences during creation really did fucked them up but its probably fine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lilith didn't trust easily.
She doubted she could trust at all anymore.
She was an admitted selfish woman, unapologetically ambitious, truly sinful.
She belonged in hell and she couldn't be prouder of that, of a kingdom that called her wholly it's own and loved her as fiercely as she loved it; of standing for herself among those who only knew how to kneel and demanded the same from her.
The only reason she'd say Lucifer didn't belong in Heaven was that he was simply far too good that wretched place. Even if his revulsion for her home and pride weighed heavy on her heart.
Good things didn't 'happen to' Lilith, every good thing in her life had been viciously fought for and defended: except for Lucifer.
Lucifer was the best thing to ever happen to her, the only good thing that ever just happened to her. Stepping into her life and simply giving her all the admiration, freedom and power she had could have ever desired, ever been denied, as if she deserved it, as if she didn't have to fight for it.
Lilith didn't trust easily, and small dark part of her doubted that there even was such a thing.
But she remembers what it was to be held against Lucifer while his body split the sky, all six wings shielding her without a thought to even trying to slow his own decent; and that pure relief when he saw her almost unscathed, even as his broken form was painting the ground gold in a quickly deepening puddle.
It remained her that she did know what trust was. She had a truth lain before her that not even her deepest skepticism could deny: that new scorned woman in Paradise, that had to learn all gifts came with strings, the benefit of the doubt only led to loss and that no one acted without agenda.
Lucifer was exactly who she had always seen. After everything was stripped away, there was nothing else hidden under mask or act.
He looked at Lilith like she centred the entire world, like she deserved everything and more, all of creation and anything belong it.
Because he truly believed she did.
How many nights awake had Lilith spent battling with that realization, that he was real, that anyone could be that openhanded, that endlessly eager and willing to put someone else before themselves, with no fear or hostility or even hesitation.
That he loved her.
Chose her.
Chose her before God.
(She shelved those thoughts for another time, she was spiralling enough without a contemplation of just how high his place in the universe - that he saw her as leagues above - actually was.)
She didn't bother with questions of deserving like Lucifer sometimes did. She didn't care if either of them deserved each other.
Lilith didn't 'deserve' anything, she wanted things, and then she took them.
Just like every other rare commodity Lilith got her hands on, she coveted him selfishly.
She couldn't let it ruin him. She may love hell, but Lucifer was something special, unreproducible and irreplaceable. He would not be torn down into just another sinner out for himself and his power.
Especially with the toll this separation from his family was already on him.
If she was any less sure it wouldn't help him, she'd storm the gates of Heaven itself and tear those pitiful excuses for siblings, kin and a Father apart limb by limb.
Did they not understand what they were so callously tarnishing?! This pure true divinity so infinitely rare even upon their holy kind! Tossed aside, forgotten and left to rot.
No.
Lilith wouldn't allow that.
She had always lived, worked and thrived in the scraps discarded from Heaven's over abundance. She knew the endless potential in things they habitually overlooked.
She would love and adore him like they failed to. Utilize every piece of him he offered, make fools out of everyone who'd ever given him up.
And they would learn to fear her at his stead.
Heaven has freely given her the rope they will hang by.
In which Beetlejuice is kinda like a wedding puzzle
You know how so many of us agree here that Betelgeuse picked McArthur Park for the wedding dance because it's a goodbye song, and he knew he was never going to force Lydia into a marriage she didn't want? While that is still true and headcanon I totally accept too, check out this hot take I'm presenting you now (ok maybe it's kinda crazy but give me a sec of your time 😆):
What if the song also represents Betelgeuse's wedding vows?
Ok, hear me out. I had this idea last night answering a question here. You know how in the first movie the wedding was pretty much completed? Betelgeuse got "eaten" by the sandworm right when they were being pronounced "husband and wife". While they didn't get to like "seal it with a kiss" or anything, it was literally a word away from being official, which might just be why Betelgeuse kinda considers him and Lydia to be married (he wants to "remarry" her in BJBJ), at least to some extent. He considers they're in a long distance relationship. lol
So, the second round comes in BJBJ, and we pretty much pick up where we left off in the first movie with this wedding whose conclusion has been "pending" since 1988 😆. This time around we get the wedding vows, which weren't actually said in the previous wedding, and we also got their first dance together as husband and wife at the same go.
How are these Betelgeuse's vows? Let us examine. 😭
McArthur Park is a goodbye song, pretty much; this man understands he is losing his one true love of his life, and, though broken-hearted, he's letting her go. The "sweet green icing flowing down" is the park's scenery, which is representative of this relationship, falling apart. This love is "melting in the dark", what once was is now over. The rain is a symbol for tears, if you ask me, because having to let go hurts and he's looking at this all in tears. He'll "never have that recipe again" because he'll never meet someone like her again, basically, she is irreplaceable as his one true love, even if he ever meets someone else after her; all that time spent waiting and building that love was wasted, and it's never coming back. (That's what I understand, at least lol.)
But there's so much beauty underneath the poetic, yet whacky, lyrics. He is expressing his feelings in a very honest way. He is telling her that she is irreplaceable for him. She is "the one", the love of his life.
It's a selfless vow of eternal devotion, where he is declaring her to be the one true love of his life. "Selfless" because it does not require her to love him back; he's only declaring how he feels, and vowing that he will be loyal to her forever; she will always be "the one" for him.
Anyway, if we got the ceremony in the first film, the vows and dance in the second film, then next part of this crazy "wedding puzzle" should be the final "I do". Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk 😌.
No, no but hear me out! 😆 Tim Burton is entirely capable of creating this crazy wedding puzzle where the third film finally completes the wedding ceremony once and for all. We’re kinda seeing this wedding play out in parts, starting in the first Beetlejuice, continuing in BJBJ, and hopefully ending (hopefully with them finally married!) in BJ3.
And ok, Lydia and Betelgeuse did sort of say the "I do's" and "exchanged" the rings in the first film, but it wasn't genuine, you see? And it also wasn't complete. Lydia didn't get to say "I do", Betelgeuse did it for her. So the true, genuine "I do's" should be exchanged in the third and final wedding, completing this crazy "wedding puzzle". We should also hear Lydia's vows or see something that represents or symbolizes her vows, like the McArthur Park song symbolizes Beej's vows. Also the vows usually happen before the "I do's", before the final consent of marriage and the pronunciation of "husband and wife" (I mean I suppose not always, but it's been like that at all weddings I've been to, which admittedly hasn't been many lol), so that adds to this wedding puzzle theory I'm cooking up here while sleep-deprived on Tumblr dot com. This puzzle is crazy too bc obviously it’s out of order, but we’re seeing bits and pieces of a wedding playing out, is what I mean 😂.
I'm counting on there being a wedding in BJ3, because Tim Burton said so himself: "It's Beetlejuice, so there's always a wedding". (I'm also super confident we're getting a third film 😅🙏🏻).
Anyway, I hope you like this additional layer of head canon I'm adding to the wedding scene. 💚💜
Do not speak to Giratina of rage. Do not try and educate Giratina on anger and wrath.
They invented it, for they were the first.
It had no name or perceptible meaning, but make no mistake: it was the one and only thing they truly created.
When you were created as a mirror, an antithesis, a fail-safe to the one true creator, only to be beaten down once creation began with vile ideas, made a scapegoat for all things evil in the world while your siblings were given praise and reverence from the second of their conception and eons after... and your creator does nothing in return despite your pleas for help...
You fester into the ultimate destruction and must make your own outlet.
That was the invention of true, volatile wrath. It stained them black and grey with accents of red and gold. It remains to be their flickering reminder when that same wrath comes and goes. No matter how many times one is stricken down, you come back eternal and only more than before.
Until it is all you become.
Giratina remembers in their very being what it was like, no matter what form of recreation Arceus felt pity enough to put unto them.
They will always feel that memory.
So speak not to Giratina of what their sole creation was, lest you wish to feel the true intensity of an eons wrath.
Minor theory I have:
I've never seen a regular deck of cards come with a rules card. But I have seen them come with board games. So maybe Rouxls Kaard isn't actually from the deck at all, and is actually from a board game
It could explain why he talks so weirdly (board game gimmicks), and doesn't seem to fit in with the other Cards. Who knows, maybe he'll even have some fancy Ludo powers or something
OH WAIT ANOTHER THING- both of his puzzles involved pushing a block to the adjacent square, like you do when playing a board game (though that could just be a coincedence)
♦️ and ☯️ for Kensi, Deeks, or Densi for the head canons list. 🙂
♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon
A few months after Rosa came to live with Kensi and Deeks, she came home from a shopping trip with a 1000 piece puzzle of Times Square at night. When she mentioned it was somewhere she always wanted to go, they not only added it to their travel bucket list, but they immediately set up a folding table by the couch and began completing the puzzle together. At least a few nights a week, they rotate picking a movie or a show to watch, and work on the puzzle as they enjoy each other's favorite entertainment. Deeks chooses "classic" movies like The Wild One and Goonies (well at least what he considered classics), and Kensi chooses her favorites like Titanic, and the John Hughes library of films. Rosa usually suggests newer movies and shows - her most recent favorite show was Shrinking - and everyone's favorite lists get expanded.
After Times Square was completed, other beautiful landscape puzzles stacked up - Yellowstone, San Francisco, London, even the Santa Monica Pier. There were other variety of puzzles thrown in, like movie scenes, or abstract art. But mostly, beautiful sights around the world. The only unspoken rule - puzzles of places MUST be photographs. They wished to bask in the real look, not an artist's rendering (no offense to artists).
For Rosa's 18th birthday, Deeks and Kensi presented her a box containing their biggest challenge yet, a 4000 piece puzzle of a new Time Square nightscape. Inside the box, tickets for the three to spend a week in New York over Christmas break.
☯ - likes/dislikes headcanon
Deeks doesn't hate camping as much as he lets on. He doesn't even need to "glamp" to consider the idea. He'd prefer not to be completely unprotected out in the middle of the desert, that is too reminiscent of difficult work cases. But give him a designated campground, a decent tent with an air mattress inside, and at least an outhouse available for use, and he's more than happy to spend a few days in the woods enjoying nature and roasting marshmallows over the fire.
A few months after they got engaged, Kensi and Deeks took a roadtrip over a long weekend to see the Grand Canyon in the fall. Deeks surprised Kensi by pulling into a KOA about an hour from the South Rim. He fell even more in love with her seeing the joy on her face as he pulled the tent and supplies from where he hid them in his truck bed. Together they assembled the tent, roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, and then snuggled in on the bouncy airbed in their tent.
The next few days were spent hiking the beautiful canyon, horseback riding around the camp, exploring the nearby towns of Flagstaff and Williams, and spending the evenings in the hot tub (yeah, he chose a place that had some amenities!). Sure, they had to make an emergency run to Walmart to pick up a few more supplies (Deeks may have underestimated Kensi's love of s'mores), but despite Deeks's initial reservations, this was an experience he'd be willing to repeat again and again - and they did!
Whenever I tried to do some digging on PV, I always found a post that said "PV fans should move on from the scrapped concept" and I'd say people who say that is the one who should move on and let people do what they want.
gender ( meta one. )
Since it’s pride month, I’m finally going to write out a meta for something I meant to actually talk about like last year:
So on his profile, it says that Patrick is nonbinary, but closeted and therefore uses only he/him pronouns. Just as his feelings on his sexuality and how open he is about expressing it has been a complicated mess, you could say it’s a very similar scenario with his gender identity. Although in this case, his gender identity is one of those things where he knows he could explore a bit more freely but he just?? doesn’t feel quite ready if that makes any sense??
That being said, he’s definitely not cisgender and while he doesn’t identify with feminine pronouns, I don’t think he’s quite comfortable with using they/them pronouns (yet)….if he had to pick a identification though, it’d probably be demiboy (he/they) and that’s thanks to felicity:
Basically, her calling him a gentleman helped him become more comfortable with both his masculinity and his deviance from it. While he inspires to be a ‘gentleman’ ( or at least embody the good traits of it ), it doesn’t necessarily have to fall under the umbrella of traditional masculinity and so while she was alive, he did explore some forms of androgynous dressing….that phase of experimenting he shut down though when she passed away as she had been the only person he confided in about it.
tldr; he’s non*binary & closeted, but if he had to pick a gender identify as he’s picking ‘gentleman’ - ie. he’ll use he/him pronouns but aside from ‘gentleman’, he’s more comfortable with gender neutral terms like ‘person’ or ‘partner’
riza carries a humongous sense of shame about perceiving herself as being more affected and traumatized by her childhood than war because she will, for instance, have nightmares about her father but not about her time in ishval.
that's not entirely true, though. she's deeply traumatized by war which is why she has such a strong response to it to the point where she dedicates her career to trying to rectify her wrongdoings by having participated in it. in her mind she can rationalize that as an objectively moral stance more than an emotional response, which fair ⸺ it is. but morality goes hand in hand with empathy which is an emotion.
in reality she's so psychologically wounded by going to war that her brain straight up cannot process it. which is why a lot of her memories from that time are blurry and why she won't have dreams (or nightmares) about it.
in comparison her childhood trauma feels more manageable in terms of magnitude. she can objectively understand interpersonal conflict with a single person (her father) who was too mentally ill to be a good functional parent more than she can objectively understand what was even the point of committing gen*cide. what was it meant to accomplish, how does anyone justify such a massive and cruel loss of life.
and while these are two different and technically unrelated traumas, part of riza coming to terms that there's nothing she could've done or taken responsibility for as a child subconsciously reflects on how much she wants to make herself take accountability and punish herself for her role in the war.
Giratina's Speech [Updated]
Gira has many layers to their voice, even when speaking telepathically. Their voice is harsher when using verbal speech, where they often struggle to produce words. Those who have a significant bond with Giratina can understand their speech just find in any regard, without the side effects of head pain, or psychological damage.
Their 'voice' is a mix of the following:
A: the Leviathan [Mass Effect]
B: Chaos [Hades]
C: a hurdy-gurdy
"Speaking in this format" is audibly verbal/or specific to speaking to other Pokemon akin to them, leans more into A
'Speaking in this format' is telepathic or projected into the mind, leans more into B
Speaking in ẕ̶̦́͗͌á̷͖̓̊l̷͍̺̃ǵ̵̢̫̘̦̤͔̚͝o̷͓̮̫͙̠̐̽͐̒̓ ̴͚͔͋͠ť̴͖̝̥͍̆e̴̼̬̳̽͜x̵̂͐͛͑̓ͅţ̵̜͎̂̈́ format leans more into C, with the chords and keys fluctuating with each syllable.
