No clue if this is any good lol - I started this evening and it’s midnight now, so it was admittedly a tad rushed, but I really wanted to get something out there for this :]

I know you’ll almost certainly never see this, and it’s highly unlikely I’ll ever bring myself to post it on the evil bird site in which you reside [/vsilly], but thank you Mr. Jash for all you’ve done for me and the rest of the community. Your music means so much to me and so many other people, and I know it’s helped me at least work through my own issues ^^ plus, massive inspiration and motivation for me to get back into art [and learn to draw people, which I’ve only done and started enjoying because of your music] !!

Had a lot of fun with the colors and textures on this one. Again no idea if it turned out well [and I am fairly certain the anatomy is a little fucked lol] but it was super fun to work on :D

The text in the background is simplified Mandarin Chinese [Hanzi]. Literally all it says is “happy birthday to you!” Over and over lol. No big meaning or anything, just a fun visual feature :]

This drawing is actually based on the image below (hence Jouse, which I was very happy to finally have the chance to draw, as well as the weird cake lol). I tried so damn hard to find the original image and I couldn’t, so I’m using a meme-ified version @rinrin-5409 sent me this morning. Thanks Rin! :3

my first thought was obviously elucien (*insert old ancient feylin era grainy fb comment ss* y’all know which one) but i definitely remember her saying almost the exact same words about bryce and hunt so she could’ve been referring to that.

with that being said, of course gwynriels and eluciens purposely misinterpreted her words and ignored the context of that quote and the rest of the interview but the today’s show tiktok came through with the receipts:

Boyfriend Sakura who has grown up and away from Makochi…

He’s calmed down heaps, carries a bit more muscle in his shoulders and only blushes at every other thing you say these days. He’s a stand-up boyfriend. He was taught well, but the most surprising thing is he doesn’t fight… Not really.

The days of him being in a gang are distant, he can’t even remember the last time he punched someone. There’s been no need. Since meeting you, his life has been content, calm: peaceful.

So, when you come home with bloody knuckles from socking a guy in a car park for being grabby, it’s a big fucking surprise when he starts to wash and dress your hands with an expertise you didn’t know he had.

And it’s even more of a surprise, when you find yourself in the same position the week after. Sakura’s cheek bone is bruised, but he looks well. There’s a glimmer in his eyes and a couple of scratches on his hands, but you don’t miss the glee in his voice when he tells you: ‘That guy won’t be bothering you anymore, don’t worry.’

today we start reading part two of lockwood and co’s the screaming staircase!!!

to celebrate here are some noteworthy moments from part one! [beware of spoilers!!]

there is a lot of incredible world building in this first part, but one of the bits i keep thinking of is how much these kids not only think about death, but are quite literally surrounded by it. they are constantly being informed by death around them. this is heavy emotionally intense labor that we’re expecting out of these kids

lockwood is a Silly, and he loves teasing lucy this is incredibly important information to me thank you for sharing this jonathan stroud

again with the world building, kind of crazy how pervasive the problem is that you see preventative measures in everything. we had a fun discussion about this in the discord too

okay lucy tell me how you really feel - but also the way his warmth for her is described (even when she is incredibly clueless) is so sweet to see. like talk about a crazy quote

this is an incredible closing scene like HELLOOOOO??? i’m obsessed with the dramatics like this would’ve had me HOOKED as a kid!!

these are just some of the moments that really stood out to me while reading (i had several more too but just to not make this post a million years long ya know) - i’d love to hear other ppls top moments from part one. but also YAY PART TWO HERE WE COMEEEE!!
