○ location: skyline shopping centre ○ status: open (cap at 3) - @providencepeakstarters
Phoebe was a mall person. She absolutely adored the mall. She liked the bustling crowds and the loudness, and how it was an environment where her body had to catch up to her ever whirring brain. She liked hopping from store to store to never buy anything but to gather free samples. The mall during the festive season was probably it at its best, with the lights and the tree and the mall Santa setup. It was also the best time of year for one of her favorite activities; people watching. Phoebe had gone to the food court to get an ICEE, stationed at an available bench with one other person there to do just so, seeing a man on the phone fumble through the pockets of his coat as he tried his best to weave through the crowds at speed. A bit of paper flew out and he kept going, completely unaware. “Sir!” Phoebe called, jumping up to grab it before it got stood on. “Sir you dropped this!” But it was no use, he was eaten by the mob of mall people. Phoebe glanced at it, slightly relieved it wasn’t anything important, just a coupon for two pretzels for the price of one. “Would it be bad if I used this? It expires tomorrow.” Phoebe asked aloud, nodding at her benchmate. “You could have the extra pretzel, be my accomplice in this crime?”

open starter location: firefly arcade
The noise of the arcade games around him, paired with the steady sound of music playing through ceiling speakers, was disorienting in the most familiar way. It almost felt like the club, except the music wasn't loud enough to vibrate through his body the way it did when he was working. He'd been eyeing the different machines for a while, attempting to make up his mind on which one to try first. Unfortunately, Eun Jae was the type of person who couldn't stand being bad at something, so he felt the need to pick very, very carefully.
Biting his lip in slight frustration, he turned to the person closest to him, eyes wide and pleading. "Which one of these is the easiest to learn, you think? Or, like, is there a game you could teach me, maybe? They all look kinda hard..."

❛ ☾ ◟━ LOCATION: outside the police precinct
❛ ☾ ◟━ TIME: afternoon
❛ ☾ ◟━ STATUS: open to everyone
Sometimes Gwendolyn wondered if it were best to just pack up and disappear without a care in the world. However, the idea of being on the run seemed too good to be true as she was certain that the Wades wouldn't dare to let that happen. It was evident that the current events around Wilmington were draining the life out of her as she struggled to comprehend how one place can be filled with so much complexities in its people and history. It was a mystery she was still struggling to solve.
Taking a long drag of her cigarette, the Chief of Police stood at a corner outside the precinct in hopes of having a quiet break from all the chatter and requests. However, she heard someone approaching and immediately blew out the smoke, before crushing the stick underneath her foot and making her way back inside. "Any questions, concerns or complaints, please file it at the front desk. If you're the media, I'm not taking any interviews at this time."

Location: Little Corner Market
Open to all
"Bread....olives....milk..." Meera ran her hand across the items in her shopping basket repeating the names before sighing deeply. Having just finished a lunch time shift and with some reading for college that she had had all summer to do but had failed miserably to even start her head was all over the place. "Ugh, what else was it?"

"I can't decide if I wish I could have a go at that or if the idea completely terrifies me," Leo remarked with a chuckle as he turned to his neighbor as the latest pair of knights had reached the end of their jousting performance.

who: open ( @aurorabaystarter ) where: somewhere busy
When the kid had first called out 'Miss Beauford', Katrina hadn't been all that surprised. The kids she taught often recognized her in public - it wasn't a huge town after all. But then she'd seen the worry in his features, quickly discovering that he was alone, having been separated from his mother in the busy tourist-filled crowd. He was quickly getting hysterical, Kat having a hard time keeping him calm while also trying to look for someone who could help. Instead, Kat decided to flag down a passer-by, hoping they weren't too busy. Excuse me, hi." All the while, Katrina kept a firm hold of the kid's hand, making sure he didn't get lost again. "Do you have a moment?"

WHERE: the pour house. WHO: alec & OPEN. [ @bluestarters ]
Alec didn't love these early evening shifts when the sunlight still filtered in and a tumbleweed was more likely to roll by than a group of people ready to lavish him in tips, but here he was. Alone. He didn't even care so much about the money— he was bored. Alec flourished in social settings and could get downright destructive when left to his own devices. So after the third time he ran the beat up rag over the counter top and still no one came through those doors, his eyes began to rove over the shabby little dive for something to get into.
And then, sweet deliverance. The door swung open on a creaky hinge and Alec spread his arms like a model on The Price is Right. "Ay, welcome. Grab a seat before they're all gone." Every empty stool seemed to wait in anticipation, echoing his desire for company. He leaned against the counter, braced by his elbows, and smiled. "What can I get ya?"

open starter: @aurorabaystarter location: hidden gems thrift store
Maybe it was due to it being October that he was already eager to find a costume but here he was looking through every rack possible to find something that stuck out to him. Sure he had time but he didn't want to be one of those people who got everything last minute. He's done that too many times before to be happy with himself. Though he could make something himself if he tried though he knew his YouTube history would be filled with different things about sewing since he was clueless.
"Maybe I'm being too picky. Do you think this would look good on me or this?" He asked someone nearby, wanting a second opinion since his own mind was spiraling. He didn't want to look like a mess so he was hoping the other person would be able to help him out in some way.

For: @aurorabaystarter Where: Anywhere tbh
Ann had put everything aside since the funeral, she had taken a month off and now she just needed to remember how to function without her husband. There were several people she wanted to thank in town, and it started here, she really did have something for everyone for being so supportive. "Ah, finally, here you go, this is for you!" She said, handing over a wrapped present.

Location: Golden Hour Lounge Bar &&: @aurorabaystarter
Lia had just begun to walk out from her set, there was something about singing in a lounge bar that had just hit her in the right way. It was something she had enjoyed doing, and something people enjoyed hearing her do also. It was a far cry away from the family's business problems and it was a wonderful way to distract herself from anything to do with familial issues at the present moment in time. Perhaps a kinder person would have stuck around to be supportive, however, Lia wanted to get out of that bar and find her way home. Lia needed the comforts of home, and by far she needed to soothe her throat, long nights of singing took a toll on her throat.
She shivered lightly as she stepped out into the cool air, rummaging through her bag for her keys. "Where the... Oh, come on you have to be kidding me!" She exclaimed, her fingers slipping through a hole at the bottom of her bag. "Fuck!"

The last couple of weeks had been a handful that's for sure. Sierra, prompted by the meeting with her brother, that gone to her parents' home after years to talk to her mother about the situation and to stop meddling in her life and, of course, being among her family never really helped. Not Harry, of course. Seeing him had broken her heart but for different reasons. The distance that had grown between them, but not for the pain he brought to her soul. Her brother never brought her that, but her father did. And seeing her mother didn't help either. So she had to get away for a while, take a few weeks off to herself and be out of town—out of her troublesome life. She didn't go far, visiting some friends in California, and she was back just as quick as she went. Because she was a workaholic (and deep down she was scared to be replaced at the station).
Returning wasn't easy either, so much to get to, so much paperwork to review, too much to catch up on. She needed a fucking drink at the end of her day, so there she was, downing a whiskey as if there was no tomorrow. With a deep sigh, she ordered a second dose and looked to her side. "So, what's gotten you here tonight? I know what brought me."

Where: The beach party! Who: Open to anyone! ( @aurorabaystarter )
Sloane felt like she was on cloud nine, probably helped by the amount of cocktails she'd ingested over the last...hour? Still, it was time to break the seal and as the current song finished she extracted herself from the person she'd been dancing up against with a shout of "I need the bathroom" and stumbling off into the throngs of people who were still moving around each other. While on the hard flooring they'd put down to dance on she'd been able to dance in her heels easily, but as soon as she hit the sand at the edge everything went a little backwards. With a shriek she ended up in a heap right on the sand before dissolving into hysterical giggles coupled with a 'ouch' as she took hold of her ankle.

location: choose your own adventure
" thank goodness you're finally here!" eleanor exclaimed, relief flooding her voice as she spotted someone approaching. she quickly linked her arm through theirs, eager to escape the creeping presence of the person she had been chatting with. their questions had taken a strange turn, and elle couldn't shake the unsettling vibe—she really tries to give people the benefit of the doubt, but their energy was really off and she had been listening to way too many true crime podcast these last few days. " please play along, " she whispered urgently, glancing back as she waved a hasty goodbye at the stranger before hastening their steps. // @aurorabaystarter
