open for: anyone @aurorabaystarter where: carnival
"I'm telling you, I have good aim...and I will win this duck damn it." Mason said to the other as he adjusted the hold and took aim. "Maybe my eyes are a little dry, how many times have I tried again...three? This is my last one before I have to pay another round. The real question is....is it worth it."

Open starter: @aurorabaystarter
Gracie was stressed, which was normal for her. She wanted to make sure her designs were good enough to not be rejected but of course it didn't go as planned so instead of crying about it, she decided to go grab baked goods to make herself feel better. Gracie turned to look at the other and waved the chocolate croissant. "I'm just saying, these chocolate croissants are the best."

Open starter: @aurorabaystarter Location: Four Leaf Pub
"I think nothing beats being new, I got lost...lost, then I almost lost my phone, it's been a rough day." Claudia said out loud to the other that was nearby, taking a long sip of her drink. "But hey, at least it's not a huge city like LA or New York. God I can only imagine the type of shit I would be in."

Status: Open Location: Outside Elegance Dance Studio @aurorabaystarter
Linnea was standing outside handing out some fliers with another one of her coworkers just to get a little more attention to the studio. Sometimes people wouldn’t realize something was in town unless it was thrown at them. And she was always willing to help someone new dance. “ I promise it’s fun! And it’s all different types of dance “ she replied as someone walked away with the flower without acknowledging her. “ I don’t know if this is working “ she said out loud but gave another smile as she handed another flier out. “ would you like to learn how to dance? “

open for @aurorabaystarter where: sea glass boutique
Maia straightened the racks in her boutique, the soft hum of pop music creating a soothing background as she tidied up. The Sea Glass Boutique was now her pride and joy, and she loved every moment of running it. Today was particularly busy, with a steady flow of customers filtering in and out, each one hoping to find something special.
As Maia adjusted a display of elegant summer pants - the linen kind, the boutique’s bell chimed, announcing the arrival of a new customer. "Hey, welcome!" She greeted them, "let me know if there's anything I can he-" her attention was drawn to one of the jewelry cases that had made a noise. A few of the necklaces had fallen. Maia let out a heavy sigh, clearly it wasn't the first time it had happened. "Sorry, I swear to god my grandmother is haunting this place and she hates the way I've redecorated."

Cricket & Nikki's birthday party @ Ocean Crest Rooftop || Open to all
Nikki let out an excited shrill, hands reaching out to take hold of the other's hands. "Oh my God, thank you so much for coming!" she offered with a grin, honestly excited. "I know this is..different, but it's going to be absolutely amazing" she gushed. How many people would throw a prom themed birthday party in the middle of November? Well, two..tada, and welcome to their party!!

“Can you believe they have Salmon vodka?” Lacey turned to the other to hold up one of the bottles before setting it back on the shelf, figuring to waste some time by browsing at the store when she knew she probably should have been grocery shopping and alcohol technically wasn’t food, she picked up another bottle to look at. “Makes you wonder what type of person drinks these absurd alcohol choices and before you ask, yes I am procrastinating on doing homework."

where: you pick!! @aurorabaystarter
"The best part of eating out is the fact you can box up what's left to eat it later." Chase picks up the bowl to start dishing it into the to-go box, pausing when a few pieces fall onto the floor instead. "Oh shit, well... Tell me you had better luck than me."

where: ocean crest who: open! @aurorabaystarter
Cole paced back and forth outside his apartment building, anxiety gnawing at him. He had searched his apartment from top to bottom, but Rocky, his beloved pet rat, was nowhere to be found. "Rocky? Rocky!" Cole called out, his voice echoing through the otherwise quiet night. He could feel the stares of a few neighbors who had stepped out to see what was going on. "You haven't seen my rat have you? He's grey, long tailed...kind of round.."

location: beach
There’s just something about the beach. Isn’t that what they say? It should be weird, returning to a great expanse of nothing but sand and sand and sand and water and water and water over and over and over, but just somehow isn’t. Tricia kicks the sand she had buried her feet under when she spots someone coming. She looks up from her comfortable spot, perfectly built (see: blanket, phone, headphones, book, green grapes) apart from a pair of sunglasses. She always seems to forget those. Her hand acts as a shield as she looks at them. ‘Hey,’ she says, ‘I’m tinkering with the idea of digging a big hole. It’s just the lack of tools. Of, uh, reason… that seems to be stopping me.’

#aurorabay.starter#by all means assume connections !!! trish has lived in aurora her whole life so i need to get plotting soon>:)

Starter: Open, assume connections if needed ( @aurorabaystarter ) Where: Driftwood Coffee
Aaron felt pathetic. He had been in town for close to two months now, and he knew that wasn't a long time, but it was as though he forgot how to be a person, and closed himself off. He wasn't like this, wasn't someone who enjoyed being on his own. He had always thrived in community, and he was finding it hard to wrestle with his past, with his choices. He needed to get out more. Needed to push himself into the unknown.
Which is how he found himself at Driftwood Coffee, papers to grade in his tote bag. He ordered a black coffee and a pumpkin bagel, an attempt to get into the season. He sat down at a table, his long legs awkwardly crammed and folded under his seat. He didn't even realize he was speaking until the words left his mouth. "I'm sorry... fall is great and all, but this isn't a bagel. This goes against the very nature of what a bagel is supposed to be!" You could take the boy out of New York, but you couldn't take New York out of the boy.
#aurorabay.starter#aurorabay.event#he's so...#stupid#also this isn't exactly an event starter but he's miserably eating a festive food so it sort of is?

who? Open where? The Reef Bar
Despite the endless hoops she'd put herself through, there was only one kind of establishment that she felt comfortable seeking refuge in after a hard day. Marjorie Guest had a taste for the expensive and refined and it wasn't even as though she couldn't afford the budget required for her taste. It was only, she'd grown up in places like this. She had slung beer under harsh neon lights of aging beer houses before she'd gotten anywhere or been anyone. Sometimes, after a hard day, it was nice to go back to that place and reminisce on how far she'd come.
It's no wonder that the blonde moves her way through the local crowd, settling at a stool in the corner. When she was younger, she lived off of double jack and cokes but that drink was likely less appropriate for someone of her age. Just as she's beginning to relax, she feels her phone buzz. She digs it out, eyes trained on another mother emailing about her toddlers in tutus class-asking to be let in despite failing to pay the registration or register on time. She sighs and presses a finger to her temple. "Vodka tonic with lemon."
Another sigh leaves her lips as her manicured nails begin tapping out a response to the overeager mother. “You know, sometimes it’s nice to retreat to a place that doesn’t demand anything from you but your bar tab.”
#aurorabay.starter#to be honest besties#this is the equivalent of me hurling spaghetti at the wall to see what happens

Status:open Location: Any of the bars @aurorabaystarter
“ You know what, I gotta stop opening my mouth “ Nelson said with a chuckle. He had offered to buy everyone a drink in the bar but then one drink turned into several and now he was getting looks from people who insisted he’d pay for Ubers to get home. “ I never said they had to drink until they couldn’t drive home though. I guess the prospect of free alcohol was just too much for them to pass up. I did fully fuck up by not setting limits” not because it cost a lot but because people were probably more rowdy in the bar than the owners had hoped and he felt bad about it. He’d offer to pay for cleaners in the morning to help tidy up.
