listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded mfer happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.

It's truly wild to me how many people out there don't understand that the Star Wars prequels are a tragedy or how tragedies work.

Posts like "these are the Jedi failed movies" truly just make me shake my head. They're actually the "fascism wears a smile until it strikes you down and then it's too late" movies. They're the "the senate became corrupt and clapped in the face of genocide" movies. They're the "make people scared enough of war until they accept authoritarianism" movies. They're the "fear and possessiveness will tear you up on the inside" movies. The Jedi were the heroes of lore, people loved and looked up to them, looked to them for safety, and then too much got put on their shoulders on purpose by Palpatine, and also by a senate that didn't want to act (not you Padme and Bail and Mon, you're perfect). They were drafted and used and scapegoated, which is, you know, a tenet of the vast majority of authoritarian governments (Hitler and Stalin, for instance, might be on different ends of the political spectrum, but they sure both did scapegoat specific groups and commit mass murder, just differently).

When some people say "these movies are about the fall of the Jedi" what they mean is "the Jedi failed" but that's not what "the fall of the Jedi means." It means they were wiped the fuck OUT. Like, Jesus, in Rogue One Tarkin is talking about burning out the final MEMORY of the Jedi by blowing up the holy city in Jedha. Palpatine had to get rid of the Jedi because to get rid of the Jedi was to get rid of the final people standing in his way after he had already worn them out. His intention was not only to kill them, but to alter the galaxy's entire perception of them. To rip away hope. People are always looking for the Jedi to be Bad or nitpick their mistakes (because while other people are allowed to make mistakes, the Jedi never are). Palpatine made himself look like a benevolent grandpa who would keep everyone safe. And that, more than anything, is what gave him SO much power. He stole the narrative.

It's just like. Of course WE know what was going to happen! We know from watching the OT that the PT can only end in tragedy. But the characters don't know that! They don't have all the info! That's how a tragic story structure works. We see it coming and they can't.

Anyway. The Jedi are laser-sword wielding monks with psychic powers who just wanted to do what they could to help. The world would be better if more folks remembered that.

His eyes follow Damien's hand carefully, unsure of what the other wants to do. Pip winced slightly at the touch, the feeling of someone's warmth foreign to him, but doesn't move away. It might as well be the most comforting thing he had felt in a while. And just like that, it's gone. He lets Damien observe him, although he himself looks down - there's nothing else he can feel other than disgust. The halo doesn't glow like it used to; the warmth it emitted disappeared a long time ago as well. Part of it slides from the top of his head and hits the ground, surprisingly without a sound.

It's not like he cares about being an angel; he could have been a demon. They wouldn't chase him away at least. The worst part of all it was the loneliness. He spent years in the limbo, not a soul passing by close enough to hear him. Pip could see Hell's gates, but no matter how many steps he took in that direction, he could never get close. He couldn't fly back up either. The second worst part was the pain. He could conceal his appearance, but the pain of all of it never stops, and hiding it only makes it worse. His death wasn't painful, at the very least. The afterlife was torture.

A few feathers fall loose from his wings and he looks up at Damien as he begins to speak. Pip accepted that there was no way of helping him a while ago, he didn't have high hopes that Damien would find a solution. Still, it was comforting to have someone care and in a way, understand what was happening to him.

The last sentence makes him shiver, even that motion causing pain. Perhaps this was the worst part. He could feel it, his body falling apart, but Damien just confirmed it. Loneliness and pain were one thing, but he was afraid to die. He did once, he didn't want to disappear completely.

Philip looks up, his eyes meeting Damien's and he takes a small step forward "I don't want to go." he whimpered, tearing up slightly. There's nothing else he could muster to say.

   He wasn't a stranger to the uneasy feeling, he's learned to pick that up from people quite easily, though when it comes to Pip, he has to wonder how bad it actually is that he's giving off that sort of vibe. Letting himself be pulled into the alley, it only makes him wonder more what exactly is going on. 

   There's only really a nod in understanding, Damien's seen some weird shit, this town was full of it, so was Hell. So whatever was about to happen he was prepared for it. At least he thought so. Watching Pip carefully, his brows furrowed slightly at the change. Almost angry at how different the blonde looked now. He'd only heard of things like this in rumor, but it seems Pip's fate is cruel to him, even in death.

   A clawed hand reaches to grip Pip's chin as Damien observes, anger evident in his eyes that God had allowed his angels to reject one of their own through the gates. Another thing to add to the list to talk to God about.. he planned to go up there eventually to speak with him, but now it seems there's more of a reason to. 

   Eventually he lets go of the blonde's face, moving to observe the wings. These were an important feature for any angel or demon. It often kept them safe, out of danger if they could fly out of reach. His just seemed to look like they were about to fall apart. He didn't touch them however, not daring to accidentally inflict pain from a simple touch. 

   And of course, his attention finally turned to the broken halo, he's not sure if he can even touch the pieces without being burned, as halos are often a source of power for some. It doesn't lessen the frustration, but eventually he steps back again, letting out a frustrated sigh. 

" I don't think there's anything I can do about what's already done. I didn't even know this sort of thing was capable of happening. I've heard rumors of angels falling to Hell and becoming demons themselves, but that's all it was, rumors. See. Heaven's supposed to keep track of their angels and make sure nothing bad happens to them, you're the first case aside from my own father being cast out of Heaven. But he became a demon, he made Hell. You were stuck in the middle, and it looks like your soul is practically wasting away. It's a miracle you haven't just completely fallen apart or vanished from the looks of it. "

   It's probably not something that Pip wants to hear, but Damien's knowledge on the subject is limited, and the only two people who would know is his own father and God himself. It's.. frustrating to say the least really. Pip really was just dealt one bad hand...

Okay but if Bill actually did steal Ford's eyes, do you know what that would mean??

Cuz the ONLY thing keeping Bill out of the basement- thus away from the portal- were retinal scanners, which would only work if Ford was himself. If his eyes were slits (thus Bill was possessing him) the door would not open.

So that's genius, right? Boom. Now even if Bill possesses Ford, Bill will never get into the basement! Hah!

But uhh. If the Eye Stealer takes Ford's eyes, that isn't a problem anymore, is it? Cuz they could just use those eyes, which would be stuck with Ford's original retinas, and open the door THAT way

And what would Ford have been able to do to stop them? Even IF he had sight, his body was so broken and battered and tired by that point that if he went up against a monster, he wouldn't stand a chance.

Not only that, but if Ford were to get possessed again, no one would be able to tell. Ignoring the behavioral differences, from a visual aspect, they look EXACTLY the same. The ONE TELL that Bill is possessing someone is just GONE.

The only thing Bill would loose in this situation is sight himself, IF he ever possessed Ford again. But that'd probably be worth it considered there is NOTHING BUT GAINS otherwise. That, and he wouldn't have much of a reason to anymore aside from psychological torture to either Ford himself or the people around him.

Like. That's terrifying.

No wonder Ford was so goddamn afraid. If the Eye Stealer was successful, there would be no way to stop Bill. That, and Ford would be blinded for life, and possibly killed, because there's no way Bill would treat his injuries after that, right?

He wasn't just backed into a corner here; he was actively being pushed into it.

As far as the world is concerned, Lu Ten II doesn't exist and the Royal Bloodline ends with Princess Azula. The little kid that follows Prince Zuko everywhere? That's Ten Ten, an orphaned stowaway his Crew found and adopted for some weird reason no-one ever questions—the kid is just that lovable.

(It helps, honestly, that Lu Ten II is a carbon-copy of poor, forgotten Ursa. No one would ever think to connect him with Fire Lord Ozai, long may he reign.)

Little Ten Ten loves to run off when the Crew is on shore leave. He gets into trouble sometimes, but only because of his chronic inability to look away from people who need help (it makes Zuzu both so proud and so shouty-because-he's-worried. It's fun until it isn't).

By now the Crew knows not to panic when the kid goes missing for a couple of hours in a harbor town—which is why no one noticed Ten Ten's disappearance until it was too late.

"Could someone please explain to me," what starts as a mutter becomes a shout as anxiety takes over Sokka, "why on earth did we go into town to buy necessary, highly specific supplies, and returned—not only with a stolen waterbending scroll—stolen! From pirates, Katara!—but with a Fire Nation-looking KID?!"

While Ten Ten is having the time of his life goofing with Aang, out-sassing why-is-this-happening-to-me Sokka, and melting Katara's heart—Zuko is losing his mind, sanity, and temper because how on Agni's name do you lose a Prince of your nation?

It's so funny seeing people either convert or just now going "BkDk is so gay" after, what, a decade of its run.

Because now?? Now you're admitting something deep is there? Romantic and/or platonic?

Maybe it was just me but I clocked that tension in the beginning, even when I wasn't into the ship like that (as in it wasn't a ship I thought about given where I started with the anime and manga).

When Midoriya called Bakugou "Kacchan" and not once did Bakugou not tell him to not call him that, that's when I knew "oh... y'all got something... to be worked out there."

Honestly I see Jimmy's refusal to put Curly out of his misery less about his weird feelings of envy or his delusions but the fact Curly is all but stated to be a shield to Jimmy from his actions and people seeing the worst in him.

The only characters that Jimmy really interacts with one on one before the crash are Curly and Anya, two individuals he has wildly different relationships with. It's likely that Curly really did most of the talking between them as the pilots and the rest of the crew as staff. They didn't know of Jimmy's more reprehensible behaviors cause they never really had the chance to and Jimmy is subconsciously aware. If they had disliked him more than Anya would have told Swansea earlier or even Daisuke when things got really bad.

It's why he takes the immediate opportunity to blame Curly; He's the shield. He's saved Jimmy's ass more times than he can count and more times than Jimmy would ever admit. Even when he can't really do it anymore, he mentally shields himself from his own faults by putting Curly between them. Letting Curly die puts too much on him because he doesn't know how to function without a safety net.

In the end Curly only lives because Jimmy needs the idea that Curly will inevitably make things better to stay alive, meaning Curly has to live, no matter how much it pains him to do so.

I do want to say that I feel a but relieved that it was not suicide per say(as it looks like till now) , most likely a drug overdose case gone wrong here. With this, atleast I feel Liam was not actively trying to end things for himself in a way.. it is accidental but all more tragic that it could be prevented if people used their brains!

learning that made me feel better too... but then also worse... but then better again... like it's all just fucking terrible. In the end it does make me feel better that he wasn't suffering that acutely in that way in that moment, that was really so horrific to imagine and live with, and of course for the people in his actual life who survive him the guilt would have been unbearable. I do feel better ever since I, also, reached that conclusion from reading about what happened. But also... he didn't want to die, he wanted to stay around and keep doing things and trying. And he's gone. And that's just so tragic and fucking useless. I let spotify Get me earlier with their 'remember Liam' playlist and listening to him say "I want to get better" and "I want to be a better man" in song after song.... it's crushing. I wanted that for him too, for him to have that chance. There are so many ways things could have been better for him, but now all of those possibilities are just... dead. It's just garbage, I hate death and people dying and I'm really honestly just fucking sick of it.
