As per Meredith's modern verse timeline, I've decided that, upon finding out the Stannard family killer was released after serving 30 years on 'good' behaviour, that eventually, Meredith ends up using the resources available to her as Kirkwall Penitentiary's Warden to track him down and murder him.

It is in fact, pre-meditated. Her plan involves tendering her resignation three days prior, then finding him at a bar and enticing him to come home with her under false pretenses. However, it ends up going a lot messier than she'd planned - both out of a revenge-filled rage and being high on a lot of cocaine - and in her panic, ends up ditching the weighted body in the river, and driving straight to the airport and leaving the U.K.

She ends up arriving at her wife, Amelia's ( @sanctamater ), stateside home in New York as they share dual US-UK citizenships, and out of precaution, they invest in a powerful lawyer to fight the eventual case. It ends up getting thrown out as there isn't enough evidence to convict (plus a firm fake alibi, thanks Amelia!).

Okay. I might be very very very delusional. But I had to get this thought out bc I’ve been thinking abt it for a while

So at the start of the series, this is how Nobunaga is portrayed.

He’s chill and laid back, and doesn’t take it to heart when he fights with Franklin. He even smiles as he does it.

But after the death of Uvo, we never really see this side of him again. Only for brief moments. The only moments we really see of him smiling are the times where there’s a chance he could fill the emotional void left in his heart by Uvo’s death.

The reason he’s interested in Gon and Killua is obviously because Gon is like Uvo in a way, but also because they’d be a distraction for him. Getting to train these kids to be phantom troupe material would leave him no time to linger on Uvo’s death. And after that chance is gone, we never see him like how he was at the start of the yorknew arc. From his appearance in the greed island arc to the current one, we hardly see him with a smile. And if we do, it’s not the same as his old, relaxed smile.

And you could say that he was just excited for the mission, and he’s usually like his later yorknew arc self. But even after they get assigned their task, nobunaga is still seen with this carefree smile.

We even see him looking at Uvo like this (i know what you are)

Not to mention we also see him with this same dopey smile when he was a teenager

All this to say, Uvogin’s death left such a deep emotional scar on Nobunaga it changed his entire personality and overall demeanor he’s had since he was a teenager.

Craziest part is that NO ONE else reacts like this. They’re sad and angry, of course, but they keep to the original personalities we see them with at the start of the arc. And I’ve seen some people say he was overreacting, which is kind of crazy, but Nobunaga was the closest to Uvo out of everyone. He outright says in the 1999 version that no one else in the entire troupe is closer to Uvo than him.

No one tries to correct him on this; they know it’s true. Same thing with the 2011 version, “I know him better than anyone.” which no one questions.

Their relationship was pretty complex. Franklin says they’d fight whenever they got paired together. But Franklin also knew they both enjoyed each other’s company despite that. Uvo preferred to fight alone, but he was so much stronger whenever he was fighting alongside Nobunaga. Having someone there to protect motivated him, even if he would never admit it. They were really comfortable with each other, as shown in the coin toss scene in the 1999 version. They exchanged quips, and we even got a scene of them smiling at each other.

Because of all this, I do think Nobunaga’s reaction to Uvo’s death made sense. I don’t know why so many people think he was being overdramatic. He lost the person that he was closest to. They were always paired together for missions. They were hardly away from each other. No wonder he feels so empty now. Nobunaga’s a valid crashout ngl

ARCANE SPOILERS

sorry this is about to be longwinded asf but is anyone else kinda disappointed with the last arc. this is mostly gonna be about vi and jinx although i think them teasing sevika stuff but her showing up like twice and not saying shit was also weird. from the start i didn't like caitvi on like a yay shipping level but i didn't mind them that much. the lesbian situationship bit in the first two acts of season 2 were funny, i actually enjoyed it cause hey girl i've def been there before, but the third act is where i really begin having issues. at the start of the season vi becomes a cop. i know she is one in league but with the story in arcane it feels a little bit of an odd choice but i digress, its coming off like she once again is shouldering the blame for jinx. she is vi's problem. she is trying to fix things. obviously this doesn't work, cait starts changing, there is the whole isha protecting jinx moment (isha's character in gen), vi crashes out. the build up so far feels like vi and jinx are going to reconcile at least somewhat to have an understanding of each other, the crashout for vi aiding in this with vi completely changing and then starting to have an understanding of her sister. the vander and isha moment in ep 6 was what i thought to be the climax for this. then act three starts. we're in a different universe where vi is dead but everyone lives in the memory of her. jinx has a huge memorial and pink in her hair, vander has a vi tattoo, ekko paints the mural. we go back to our universe and vi is rightfully yelling at cait not mincing her words at all, sure cait explains herself but never once has she shown any change with her actual actions. Vi learns jinx turned herself in and later when she goes down to find jinx she sees her suicidal and depressed. when jinx tricks her and escapes locking vi in why, after cait gets vi out, does vi not go running after jinx? why does she proceed to have sex with cait randomly in the jail cell her sister was in???? the line of jinx "supporting" caitvi felt like she was bitter and added to her depressed state. remember she became jealous that vi showed up with cait in s1?? that should've been ekko AND vi saving jinx later on. whats the point of jinx coming back with a haircut JUST like vi's and with pink in her hair for barely anything. what was the point of any of this. it does an incredible disservice to vi and jinx as characters and their entire relationship. its weird after all this vi would go back to cait. the final line for them comes off soo unbelievably laughably classist after everything i legit have no words for that shit. "i am the dirt under your nails cupcake nothings gonna clean me out" to the upper class person whose family was gassing zaun and who knows what else historically we as the audience don't know. i simply just do not think a character that is supposed to be embodying the hardships of the zaun would do all that.

Finally finished Season 1 of Steven Universe! Only took me nine years and one transition.

Lapis is the GOAT. The gems let her stay trapped in a mirror (put her there?) and she was still nice to Steven almost instantly, didn’t treat him like Rose. She only took the ocean in a desperate attempt to get home (very reasonable crashout), she warned the Gems about Peridot, and she fused with the orange one, sacrificing herself in the process, to trap both of them and protect the Earth.

Steven himself is a sweetheart but that kid is absolutely developing an anxiety disorder.

The three other Crystal Gems are absolutely banging each other, right?

Amethyst is Wario but a hot woman. I love it. Hope she can work through her insecurities.

Interested to see where Pearl’s character arc goes, it feels like it’s just started. I’m not sure whether she needs to chill out about fusion or the show needs to get way less chill about it.

So many questions about Garnet (especially given that she has two halves to explore) but her cool factor is overwhelming. She’s also really come in clutch while showing vulnerability in how she deals with raising Steven.

Greg is the only good Redditor.

Connie is interesting. I do wonder how she’ll handle being slowly roped into the gem stuff while addressing her parents, since that’s obviously where this is going. I hope they handle Stevonnie better in future episodes, the whole thing with teens hitting on them was super uncomfortable even if that was the point.

I need Peridot to come back (I’m aware she does, but you know what I mean.) Her vague ignorance of Earth contrasted with her calculated personality is fantastic.

Most of the other humans aside from Sadie and Lars are forgettable. I hope Lars gets some actual redemption and Sadie stops being down horrendous.

The pacing in the first half of the season was atrocious and the reason it took me so long to get through the show, there’s only like two and a half memorable episodes out of the first twenty. Then Steven is introduced to that mirror and things get genuinely incredible.

I wish we had more scenes from outside of Steven’s perspective - that’s my only complaint with the second half. The other Gems are doing so much that we see so little of and their dynamics are great!

Good show, hope the pacing stays stellar now that we have our main conflict with Home World
