The interviewer doesn't quite catch it, "-y, the both of you are always booked and busy. How do you find time for each other?"

Pedro thinks, but is distracted when you walk up from behind him. He looks back when you place a hand on his shoulder. Immediately, he's forgotten all about the question and dotes on you. He brushes a hand on your cheek, asking you if you're okay. You whisper something but then catch the camera. You give a bashful smile, "oh, sorry to interrupt."

The interviewer immediately waves a hand, "oh, don't worry about it."

Pedro mutters something and kisses your hand. He holds it as he looks back to the interviewer. He opens his mouth then shakes his head, "sorry, what was the question?" Pedro laughs.

The woman chuckles then moves closer to you, "you know what, I'm sure people are dying to know, what's something you newlyweds like to do together?"

Pedro instantly turns to you.

You purse your lips in thought.

"I-"

"Watching movies," you say.

1. How many works do you have an AO3? Lol. Lmao even. 289.

2. What's your total AO3 word count? 914,620 on AO3, but that includes co-writes as well as things I've podficced where the fic and pod are in the same work. My actual personally-written wordcount, per my Batshit Spreadsheet, is 771,819.

3. What fandoms do you write for? Mostly RWRB these days, though most of my back catalogue is Schitt's Creek. Also The Pairing and various other things scattered about.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Kinda think that I might be his type aka Alex and Bea fake date coming in at the top spot, which will never not bewilder me. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely fic!! But I am always surprised that it was a few hundred more kudos than:

With so much of my heart (that none is left to protest), the Much Ado actors AU. My magnum opus, my beloved.

We were supposed to find this - baby's first soulmate AU and my first RWRB fic. The brainrot really took hold with this one lmao.

All the Lonely Starbucks Lovers, in which Henry takes 'open mouth insert foot' to a whole new level.

Warm like the glow that you feel head to toe, the age gap fic with older Senator Alex and younger Prince Henry. This is probably the only one in my top five that really surprises me, considering age gaps are... divisive.

5. Do you respond to comments? Always always always.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I mean I did write that one MCD fic in Schitt's Creek, though I maintain the other five parts in that 5+1 are in fact angstier than the MCD ending.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Uhhhhhhh, the rest? The Doylist answer is any of my fics where the HEA is literally forever rather than 'till death do us part'; so, the Schitt's Creek afterlife AU and the RWRB zombie!Alex AU. (Is that all? Am I forgetting one?)

8. Do you get hate on fics? Yeah, sometimes. Weirdly, more through tumblr anons than on the fics themselves? A lot of them I just delete, sometimes I'll give them a bit of a public scolding etc. Frankly at this point if you come into my ask box to be a cunt on anon I'm going to assume you have a public humiliation kink and will indulge you accordingly.

9. Do you write smut? Who's to say.

10. Do you write crossovers? I'm more inclined towards a fusion than a crossover (love a good media fusion) but I did write a short RWRB/The Pairing crossover for VoiceTeam.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope. Someone did ask recently, so we'll see!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? HEAPS. @ships-to-sail is an ongoing collaborator, but I also did a bunch of "each write a chapter" type collabs in Schitt's Creek. Currently co-writing something truly fucking incredible with @indestructibleheart.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? IDK if it's a WIP by the strictest definition, but every day the likelihood of the SC kink!verse series being completed slips further away lol.

16. What are your writing strengths? Rae, you're the worst.

Smut, I guess? Giving people new kinks, apparently. Character voice. Also a very specific type of world-building where I explain nothing because the characters already live in that world and let y'all infer how it works, which came up a LOT on one of this year's Kinktober fics in particular and led to my spouse saying "okay so you're basically the Brennan Lee Mulligan of tree fucking", which is sure not a sentence I expected to ever be directed towards me, but here we are.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Anything original, apparently. Good thing I didn't quit my job to be a writer or anything OH WAIT.

(In all seriousness, though, I am genuinely shit at, like, plotting. And action sequences.)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? If it makes sense for the character, sure! I'm enlisting someone who speaks it for anything more complicated than, like, a pet name - I've seen what Google Translate tries to spit out for my second language and therefore don't trust it lmao.

19. First fandom you wrote for? terf queen mcgee's property.

20. Favourite fics you've written? The RWRB fic specifically based on the episode The Husbands of River Song from Doctor Who. Hands down the best thing I've ever written.

This wasn't asked for because nobody in their right mind would ask for this but this is a fic rec list of fics I cannot stop rereading

Just started yet another reread of Inimitable Verse by deniigiq and I fully plan on rereading their into the multiverse series which occasionally crosses over also - this is a Spider-Man/team red focused series, think comics canon infused early mcu-spidey since only homecoming had come out for a non substantial amount of time they were working on the series and the daredevil stuff is explicitly tv show AND comics. Also the multiverse series is how I got into Murderdock and therefore how I got into Spider Gwen

Unpretty's Sorrowful And Immaculate Hearts series which is just a loosely interconnected series of DC fics. My personal favorites are Empty Graves, in which Martha Kent keeps killing time travelers trying to kill baby! Clark; any of their clois fics but especially Third Wheel; and Anti-Social, which is a social media fic mostly about Tim and Bruce that made me cry laughing. Catch Bruce trying to get Walmart's employees to unionize. Also shout out to unpretty's only fic with Jason in it, it looks awesome but is tragically incomplete

This particular Reverse Robin AU which put in the work to reverse every single younger generation and is chef's kiss I LOVE this version of Tim he's wild

Both of Shoalsea's fics are in constant rotation for me I talk about Into The Brighter Night all the time in the tags of reblogs and stuff it truly lives in my head rent free. Anyway Tim gets kidnapped by aliens and the batfam have to watch as yj98 saves him and it's angsty and funny and such a good take on what could have been if the new 52 hadn't happened. And Compassion Builds No House is about Tim and Pru from Red Robin. Ugh they're both so good

Speaking of Clois (I did you've just forgotten this by now) brilliant (like a confession) by kathkin (penny-anna on the hellsite) is so fucking good I'm. Okay. Anyway it'll be listed as inspiration if/when I finally post my two person love triangle fic for them

I'm too anxious to catch up on this before it's done but jumble sale chic is hands down the best spideydevil fic series despite and because of the omegaverse

Make A Little Birdhouse In Your Soul is my favorite take on Jason, period, and has a lot of fantastic Damian stuff going on too. It's updating every few weeks still! Sometimes more often! I love you bacondoughnut it's me JustGail the person who will not stop commenting on your fic you're stuck with me forever

I lied above Rumspringa Murderdock is what got me into Murderdock but that series is second place. I found this one while scrolling through the tv show's mattfoggy tag, thinking I was safe

Speaking of Murderdock mattfoggy, The Lawyer All the Wickedness was written early on in spider-gwen's history and so diverges from canon really early in ways that I think are super interesting and creative

Oh also straight on 'til morning by merils (Tumblr url mamawasatesttube) does SUCH a great job unpacking Kon's trauma and building up healthy relationships around him including a budding timkon romance and yeah it makes me sad and happy at the same time

I feel like I've already recommended every JayRoy fic by poisonivory and genuinely I do reread them all, sometimes in order of publication if I'm in a particular mood. Maybe the one I've read most though is I've Got the Feeling You're the Right Thing After All which is about Roy and Jason starting a fwb thing while Roy still harbors old feelings for Dick. Can't see anything going wrong here lmao

I love it very much when it's well done - when the meaning is clear and the reader has learned something or you're expressing a nuance not available in the primary language you're writing in.

IMAGINE. the year is 2006- YES A Y2K AU IS WHAT IVE BEEN SLURPING UP LATELY.

Lillian is the sweet, bubbly cheerleader, Oscar's on the football team. They met at practice one evening and make googly eyes at each other across the field. This song plays when they start talking, hanging out like going to the movies, or to a park, or to an arcadia and crap buuuuuuuuuut this version plays-

At the end of the montage because it cuts to Lillian smiling all dazed at one of those old music stores that used to be in every mall?

So the daydream cuts to "The La's- There she goes" by the end of the song and it sounds kind of warped and the camera is pulling out of Lillian’s face as she's grinning with headphones on and that's the sound coming from the headphones before she takes them off because it turns out to be bothered by her friends because LIKE EVERY ROM COM MUSIC TRANSITION EVER we were just getting a pov of her happy place.

The daydreams usually bright and colorful and fast paced. She has so many iconic looks during this song its criminal.

JENNAS WORK OUT SONG.

Everytime before it starts, I imagine GAME (the agency she works for) goes to her telling her they need her for a "special mission". The issue is, for some reason, Jenna hasn't been using her powers for a while. Usually because she's in Townsville for another mission and has to disguise her special abilities.

The song starts with her being kind of rough with her skill. She's struggling to get up early. Her grades aren't the prettiest. She's dropping weights. She gets the pokey pokey during fencing, and karate lands her on her butt.

Usually, by the first pre chorus she decides to pull out the textbooks, and start from there. She's focusing on her study and then by the chorus she gets a paper back in class with an A+

BY THE SECOND VERSE, she's in the gym. She's doing those rope things

Awe yeah. Now she's getting into it. She's punching the punching bag, deadlifting the squats, perfecting her sword swing

WAKING UP ON TIME FOR PRACTICE.

By the second pre- chorus her fencing has gotten so good, the opponent who first tagged her, gets tagged

Lmao. It's not like Golden is full of masterpieces, but it's definitely very well produced in the sense that Jungkook sounds good in every track, and all the tracks sound finished and polished. The production is smooth, sophisticated, modern, obviously done by Grammy-winning or nominated producers (not that the Scammys mean much, but yeah). Even basic songs can still sound pretty great when they're well produced and recorded/have good sound engineering. I'm sorry, I don't know enough about music to explain haha.

Take Too Sad to Dance - it has cringy lyrics and it's pretty basic; it's objectively not a much better song than Never Let Go, which has better lyrics and a somewhat interesting chorus. Yet, Too Sad to Dance is way better produced, so it doesn't sound unfinished and amateurish. JK's vocals sound a lot better (and more interesting, the saving grace of the song), and the whistling adds a little extra to the song too.

Another example - My You, which was just Jungkook writing lyrics and recording over a melody the company had given him the year before. It was initially supposed to be a surprise during his birthday live, so at the time the company had given him 3 melodies they had lying around - clearly nothing they would miss. He couldn't finish recording the song during his live so he recorded it the next year for Festa. Yet, despite the uninspired melody, the overall result was still pretty, because the lyrics were sweet, the vocals sweeter, and the song had heart. Never Let Go is a lot like My You - kinda basic, with cheesier, yet sweet lyrics - but the production is genuinely so terrible that it sounds so much worse.

Why is there a voiceover in the beginning, a guy and a girl??? It's so annoying and the guy is talking about money??? How is that related to the song? What am I missing?? (EDIT: THOSE ARE 2 DIFFERENT PRODUCER TAGS!!! WTF?! They sound like actual verses. Who lets producers do that to their songs? It's not subtle at all and really not worth the shitty work they did.) It's truly astounding how so many people were involved in such a weird, low quality release. It doesn't even sound like a JK song. It has all the elements he likes, but his actual songs, like SWY, My You, Stay sound way better. Never Let Go sounds like a song he didn't have time to finish himself and trusted to the wrong people, because Hybe are a bunch of dumbasses, so they just ruined the song.

What fandoms do you write for? The Hunger Games ! I have some Star Wars fics on my AO3 from years ago, but 96.2% of those words are THG so. hjvbdhvhbddfbh

What are your top five fics by kudos? Sighs really heavily. So I pretty much only write OC stuff for THG, which means that the 3.8% of Star Wars fics are taking 3/5 spots on the top 5 kudos ranking. F in the chat. So starting at the most, we've got: Lessons Unlearned (SW), Is That Really Me? (SW), True Vengeance (THG), Widow's Bite (THG), and Take My Hand (SW). None of those SW fics are over 2k while True Vengeance is probably going to hit 300k by the time it's over... Really interesting to see the statistics of what it looks like to write in a larger fandom vs a smaller fandom tbh :0

Granted, I haven't written the ending of TrV yet but given that I've killed off all of Ven's arena friends uhh.. yeah. The Bridges We Burn could also possibly fall under this category... What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Now that's a harder question, rip. I do generally try to end my Victor Exchange fics on happier notes (Destined to Fall, Desiderium, The Bridges We Burn). I think Widow's Bite and No Sleep for the Wicked also end on more positive notes..? I wouldn't exactly call it Happy though.. (maybe some of my Star Wars fics would qualify, but I do not feel like talking about them LMAO)

Do you get hate on your fic? No, I'm perfect (insert sunglasses emoji here) /j I don't think I've ever gotten straight-up hate comments on my fics before though. I've gotten some criticisms (one person wasn't happy about the fact that the Games continue after the events of True Vengeance, according to the other fics on my profile hvfhvbf), but nothing that's ever put me down about my writing. ...Do affectionate death threats count as hate? What makes something unique is having different authors writing and interpreting said concepts !

Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but I've thought about translating one of mine into French myself as a way of practice.. Never got around to it though, alas.

Have you ever co-written a fic? Ooh, so Technically, no... BUT. I do create tribute characters for SYOT (Submit Your Own Tribute) fics, which is more of a collaboration than co-writing. I also have three fics I've written for the Victor Exchange event in the SYOT Verses discord server where the pov victor characters were created by another author and I wrote their stories (and I received a fic for the victor character I created!) What are your writing strengths? Ooh I love writing dialogue, and also fight scenes!! Description is fun too c: But yeah, I have been called the fight scene queen by a friend once so I think that counts as a strength LOL.

I get hung up sometimes on structure/style things while writing and it makes the process take a bit longer. I think also sometimes I tend to meander a bit... Honestly the tiny qaf fandom going crazy over Randolph Clarke Harrison in the year of our lord 2023 was not on my bingo card yet here we are 😂

I'm enjoying it and to echo what's been said previously it is a bit of an "omg where has this personality been hiding all this time?" kind of reaction but I'm living for it. Randy is so deliciously funny, bitchy and gay. It's great to see him able to be himself and unapologetic about his opinions (which looking back at the qaf space he was in and maybe not being able to do so back then) I bet is so refreshing.

The way he and Jordan drag each other then just burst into a fit of laughter is so me when I'm talking with my friends, then in the next breath talk about their intense childhood trauma, relatable.

Randy and the stupid quiz is always a highlight asdfjkl. I've listened to so many episodes now they've all sort of blended into one, but the poly pocket episode is a highlight. To hear their thoughts on society's obsession with monogamy and their fear of non traditional relationships. How every tv show or film always has to focus on getting the boy/girl at the end and how that is drilled into us from such a young age being so boring. Even the topics I'm not well versed on or interested in is easy to listen to as it's literally just two best friends chatting.

His experiences coming out at school and at home, talking about how he's an introvert and not really comfortable being the centre of attention, hence why he and Gale got on so well as they are very similar in that respect. (Now I can't stop imagining them having really deep, creative conversations between takes about life and the arts and then going into some dramatic romantic britin scene and rolling their eyes lmao)

Randy seems to be in a very happy place in his life personally which is lovely and yeah, I'm probably gonna be in withdrawal once I finish the episodes!

Okay. So. Story time.

Imagine you're a girl (who will eventually be not-a-girl-but-it's-good-enough and queer) in middle school. You've been reading fanfiction for a year or so now1 and, with all the audacity only a thirteen year old can have, you consider yourself fairly well versed in the intricacies of those websites.

Recently, however, you've been getting disillusioned with the selection of fics available to you: you can guess almost every single plot beat ahead of time, it's hard to find exactly what you're looking for, and, quite honestly, you're bored of it. You still read it of course, something is better than nothing after all, but you can feel yourself yearning for something different.

And then, by some miracle (in the form of someone you rarely talk to and the girls locker room), you learn of AO3 and this? this right here? it feels like your holy grail. There are so many stories! It's so easy to filter things!2. And all that boredom you felt? Well, it's gone.

Now. Let me tell you something about AO3. Most of the ways to filter only provide a set number of tags to choose from3 or specific options that are available there4. The only thing that's different is the language filter which provides you with a drop down menu with all the languages you can choose from5 sorted in alphabetical order. This is all to say, you're already paying attention to this because it's different from the rest of the filter system and, just by virtue of the way it's set up, the options are slightly smaller so it's much more likely that you'll misclick and choose the wrong language.

Let's skip forward a couple months, to the point where you've gained the muscle memory of how far to scroll and where to click to choose English, but not quite enough for scrolling too far and missing it to be uncommon. At that time, the two languages right below "English" were "Español" and "Esperanto"6. Being a curious youngster (ie. you had to know everything already or else you were a failure), you knew what Spanish was, but not Esperanto. You knew it sounded familiar and that it was something European but not from the north or east7.

So you go ahead and look it up. At this point, you have absolutely no idea about conlangs beyond whatever Tolkien did and that making up a language sounds neat. And learning that Esperanto was created specifically to be a "neutral"8 language is music to your "if we could only just talk to each other things would be fine" ears.

Anyway, story time over lmao. While that's about as far as my first foray into conlanging as a medium (for lack of a better word ig?) went, I remain vaguely interested and, eventually, I learned way more about it. So here I am. Writing this even though there's prob other things I should be doing lmao.

Last one I heard just a few minutes ago while finishing my homework was "Sonne" from the "Klavier" album and, seriously, if y'all feel like it you should check out the song, IT'S JUST *CHEF KISS*; I swear that whole album speaks directly to my soul, but this song in particular does something to me. The notes for the verses are so dark and intense, just like the original song, but at the same time it has this neat and elegant detail, and don't even get me started on the chorus part, because it really gives me the chills. Is so delicate and smooth and delightful I can not not fall in love with it.
