When Chrissy signs on to be his physical therapist, she knows from the get-go that this isn't going to be easy, but she's determined not to let Eddie give anything less than 100%. What neither of them expect is for Eddie to help her heal, too.

Why?? Why would anyone think this is an ok comment to send to a fic author?!!! I don’t get it!!

I’m terribly sorry random person who felt the need to leave this comment on one of my fics, but your dislike for people not naming chapters is not my problem - it’s a you problem!! So sorry I was more interested in writing the actual fic rather than coming up with titles for the 40+ chapters of said fic!

Most actual authors don’t name the chapters of their books and if that is what is taking away from your reading experience then sorry my fic wasn’t engaging enough for you.

You don’t have to post every random thought of this type you have directly to an author - post on your own sm page without referencing the work it’s about if you feel the need to share - a post on tumblr or Twitter stating you ‘hate fics where the author doesn’t use chapter titles’ is fine - it’s your opinion but you don’t need to put someone down to do so.

I love people who take the time to leave comments on my fics, it’s super rewarding and lovely and means so much to me. I love comments from people who engage with the story or want to leave constructive criticism- but this is not constructive - it’s just straight up criticism based on your own biases on a piece of work I created in my own time because I was inspired and chose to share it with fandom. I have no obligation to use chapter titles - in fact my personal preference is to not have them but I’m not gonna go around commenting on any fic where the author chooses to use them!

hello @camille-lachenille! I actually started this one on my flight home from the trip, so I'll share a bit of what I've wrote, then I'll ramble!

This bit is the very beginning of the fic;

“Surely exile, the task of righting what wrongs I have done, of facing the consequences head on and bearing them is a better, or at the very least more entertaining punishment than having me to eternally wander this lonely hall where no others are?” He paced, gesturing with his hands a bit. As much as one without a physical form could, at least.  “I grant! There is poetry in that, I who wished so much not to be left as I was, I who, in my every action only served to push them away yet hold them closer as a chain.” He grimaces. He had too much time for self reflection, though perhaps they would appreciate him talking about his flaws and not particularly enjoying it… “I know, the irony is simply perfect, but still, it has been uncountable years that I have faced this, literally, because there is no way to track time here, and even the pain dulls as it thuds through my missing bones and echos in this empty hall, again and again, unceasing.”

Now some rambling:

Feanor was begging to be sent back to Beleriand. All his time in the halls, he had been alone. Solitary confinement. He didn't even know whether or not Amrod survived his burns from the ships. Finally, the Valar agree. With conditions. But they do not tell him the conditions, and before he can ask, he is sent back.

He finds himself in the midst of a furious battle in a great stone hall, and he sees a figure about to stab Caranthir. Feanor strikes, the figure falls, and Caranthir is saved. But he is too late to save Celegorm, who was just struck down by another sinda. He says goodbye to Celegorm, and Celegorm dies. He was too late to save Amras too. I won't go into detail about Celegorm or Amras's deaths, like who the sinda who killed Celegorm is, I don't want to give too many spoilers.

It's at about this point that Feanor's brain catches up, and he realizes that Caranthir isn't freaking out that his dad is back from the dead. Then he sees his reflection. It takes him a moment before he realizes, it's not him. He is in Curufin's body, and he has a concerning about of blood on his clothes.

Feanor was sent back, into Curufin's body, at the moment of Curufin's death. All wounds were healed when Feanor returned. Feanor is shell shocked, for a time. He does not speak until they are all leaving Doriath - without the silmaril. He tries to tell his sons, to tell someone, anyone, but he can't. He tries, but he cannot form the words, or they come out all wrong as something else entirely. Perhaps if Celegorm or Celebrimbor were there, they would notice, But they're not.

From here, Feanor struggles to tell them, to make them see that he is Feanor, not Curufin. He also tries to stop them from pursuing the oath, and he tries to right his wrongs during the rebellion, in Beleriand, and his wrongs against his family.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?  Somehow I topped my word count from last year by 10k, which I was not expecting. That said, this year was right about average.

What’s your own favorite story of the year?  God this is a hard question this year because I wrote a lot of fics I really really love. For one single fic I'll go with Nova, Baby, because I love the story and I've got a lot of lovely feelings about it.

Did you complete your writing goals from last year?  The Goal: I want to complete a few large multichapter fics, which will probably mean my one-shot production goes down. I completed one long mulitchap, and then a few mid-length (~20k) multichaps. I think I wrote more of those than I have any other year. Surprisingly, my one-shot production wasn't super significantly decreased.

Do you have any writing goals for the New Year? Ok, I gotta come up with something. My goal is to have a similar mix of fics as least year, and also to write my first collaboration with @cricketnationrise, which will be a long multichap.

Did you take any writing risks this year? Wrote on a topic outside my wheelhouse (therapy 😬) and also posted a fic in a fandom where there weren't a lot of fics in similar genres (action/spies). Now that's no longer true, but at the time it was really freaking nerve-wracking.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Every fic I write in a fandom that's not RWRB? 😅 It's hard to complain too much, especially considering what happened to my numbers this year.

Most fun story to write: All the Old Showstoppers, Will You Brie Mine?, You're the Perfect Gift for Me. Silly RWRB boys being silly, basically.

Biggest disappointment: Again, I feel like it's hard to complain when I have a fic that's closing in on 4k kudos. The goalposts keep moving, don't they, though? I still live in fear of pouring my heart into a multichap and having what will count as "lukewarm" reception, when before this year I didn't have a single fic above 1k kudos.

Biggest surprise: Most definitely Please Don't Let Me Be So Understood. Like I figured it would do pretty well (I hoped, since I put so much into it), but holy shit?? I still can't really believe it's on page 2 of the tag by kudos? And honestly also Always Where I Need To Be, this little one-shot about David stealing glasses.

Hi. So this is a rather creepy stalkerish silent reader(but please don't compare me with that Snake Manohar Jha tho) this side. I have become a fan of your writing although haven't even completed reading all of your writings rather just started with one of your FF - There's more to her.

Actually I had a question regarding a line you wrote in Chapter 9.

"......She had seen fate play on someone’s goodness, it was surprising to see someone’s goodness move fate......"

This line was for Payal, I mean, she was thinking this. So, the first part of the sentence, was she thinking about Garima taking in Khushi as her daughter and how she got a sister like Khushi for her lifetime because of 'Garima's goodness' ? Is it this or something else? Please do tell...

Thank you so much for loving my stories!

The first line of means that she had seen fate 'play' - as in take advantage - of someone's goodness. Be it her failed wedding, the dowry hassle, Khushi's pictures going live - just everything that went bad that can be blamed to nothing except fate.

Khushi was naive. Shashi only hoped for a good proposal. Payal tried to to be happy.

Yet fate preyed on everyone's goodness. Played with everyone's goodness for just no apparent reason.

Yet with Akash's small gesture, Payal is truly moved. Akash did not give the dupatta to Khushi out of a greater play of fate. He had no idea that it was Payal's birthday right until the very end.

He was just being kind, just being soft.

And the dupatta is so important in their relationship because it plays a key role in Payal developing a positive image of Akash. Payal has never had the fate of wishing something quietly and having it happen to her - that's what has happened with the dupatta and Akash.

She's a cynic. Much like Arnav.

So if Akash hadn't felt kind, hadn't felt generous, she might've simply not fallen for him and their fates wouldn't have been this intertwined.

5. The Hands of Angels, Homestuck/Doctor Who (Gen)

Eridan Ampora is a class A jerk, and for that reason I wanted to put him up against the Weeping Angels. Enough said.

4. Melody of Promises, YGO 5Ds (Pairing: Yuusei/Bruno|Antinomy)

I thought I was being really clever with this one. A story of two sides of a heart at war with itself, told in quasi-drabbles. (Each section is 100 words. The 'end' of a section flows into the 'start' of the next.)

Bruno/Antinomy will always be one of my favourite YGO characters, and this story is apparently one that can make @heleentje cry.

3. Accelerando, Breath of the Wild (Pairing: Revalink)

Written in a feverish burst of inspiration after some incredible revalink art by @acetier crossed my dash. Has a couple of minor flaws, but I'm still incredibly proud of the story I told. (Title choice was because everything would be rushing towards that natural end point; I wound up striking gold with it, not least because the story's pacing grew faster the more emotionally connected they became.)

2. Corrigendum, Breath of the Wild (Pairing: Revalink)

Along with its two 'predecessor parts', Memento and Lacuna, this has some of my best writing in it. Maybe it got lower engagement than some of my other fics* due to a) the length (11k+ is hefty going for a oneshot), b) the 'internalised ableism' tag, c) Gin playing coy about certain characters' dead-or-alive status until 2/3rds through the fic, but tbh I would still make those choices again a second time around.

* (this was published just 3 days before 'What a fool you have made me', which has two and a bit times the kudos of Corrigendum and had the advantage of being a slightly-cracky, rom-com-ish mess. Corrigendum is absolutely my favourite of the two, hands down.)

1. A Seed of Song, Breath of the Wild (Pairing: Revalink; guest star: The Chick.)

...While this is on pause for now, the thoughts are buzzing and I'm hopeful to get back to it soon. This story ballooned past all expectations and I'm determined to see it through to the end. (And then probably beyond the end as well -- I have AUs a-knocking...)

I'd say I won't treat you like you're oh so typical. However, this is a WIP and so I'm just going off of where I left things.

Hmm most of them have happy endings! My fluffiest fic is Like birds do, beginning to end.

Do you write smut?

Yes I do! Not all my fics have smut though. I will say I prefer writing my characters talk about sex, and exploring their sexuality as a major theme, to writing actual smut, not because I don't enjoy it but because it's hard!! I sometimes struggle to be creative.

What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

That one's hard. I hesitate to say because sometimes I get inspired by old ideas. I had one that is Wille as a new cat dad with a rascal of a cat who keeps breaking things, and Simon is called as a cat whisperer. The catch: Simon's methods are unique and involve him spending three days 24/7 at Wille's apartment. I just am not capable of this level of fluff lol

What are your writing strengths?

I think I develop really elaborate ideas and worlds in my head, and I do try to make them as convincing as possible. I only write AUs, so I think this is a big part of that. I like writing descriptively bc of my liberal arts degree, and I also try to work in as many life experiences and make things feel relevant to the world around us, aka writing from a critical perspective even if it's fictional. I hope I'm achieving this even slightly!

What are your writing weaknesses?

Oh god lol. I get writing exhaustion pretty hard because of idea overload, and I look back at the page and feel like I've lost my voice or style completely. I think I struggle with varying the sentence structure so things feel natural. I'm also working on incorporating metaphors and symbolism effectively - I've been writing papers for so long in college that metaphors don't come as easily anymore.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I think it's great, although sometimes I won't do it because google translate is unreliable and I don't have a beta reader currently. However, I like throwing in phrases here and there we see on YR a lot :-)

It would have to be You Kill Me, although it's not done. I put so much into their world and have so much more to show!! I'm proud of directly tackling a lot of the power dynamics and their intimate effects (on Simon especially) that I feel weren't addressed fully in the show, albeit in another universe. (Also yay for Felice and Simon's friendship and talking about racial issues together <3) The recent love for it has been so amazing and inspired me to keep going.

Thanks for the ask, this fic is spiraling into something possibly longgg, so I'll talk about the events I want to hit with this fic, and certain things I want to write with it. Also sorry this got long lol

I am avoiding big spoilers in this, I am going to be adding a lot of things but I'm staying relatively close to canon so going over what this is going to cover in this way is not very spoiler-y I think.

Well my pl*n (ahem, lol) is for this fragment I posted a while ago to be at the end of the next chapter. From there, Elured will be trying to figure out what to do from there, because he's been crowned king of the Noldor and his pl*n to see if Elwing was alive and live as a happy family flew out the window.

From there, he will try to get in contact with Elurin again. I won't say how that goes, for good or bad because I don't want to give major spoilers, but, well... you know how much angst I write 😂 (take from that what you will lol)

From there - however that goes - we will see more of Elured as High King. I will spend some time on him getting into the job, finding his feet and learning, and in a way finding his identity outside of being Elurin's twin, as someone independent and with such a different kind of power, and his struggle with all this.

And I want to spend some time on the 3rd kinslaying, and the War or Wrath.

The 3rd Kinslaying -

I want to show his point of view from Balar of the leadup, his interactions with Elwing in this time as he tries to protect her and advise her, but she likely pushes away because of how she has been infantized and treated as lesser by some of her advisors and lords and such. I think there would be a few more visits between Elured and Elwing, him meeting Earendil, possibly him at their wedding, meeting Elrond and Elros... some good things for a time.

Then I want his POV as he gets the news. As he rushes to try to help... I'm not departing from canon too much, I am placing Elured into canon as a different character. There will be differences. New things. But I want to explore it like that, without departing too much. We know so few details from that time so it's also exploring that time and what it was like.

Then I want to show him after, what he tries to do, his public acceptance of his sinda heritage, something he likely didn't advertise much beforehand.

From there I would start heading towards the war of wrath, and with Elrond and Elros leaving Maedhros and Maglor and coming to him. I want him to meet and know his nephews, some of his last family, I want him to teach them about their maiar powers... I want them to be a happy not quite family for a little bit. He won't tell them who he truly is of course.

Then the War of Wrath.

I want to cover things getting worse and worse, possibly in small bits with a lot of jumps. What I am particularly excited to write is the unlooked-for arrival of the hosts of the Valar and Finarfin.

I want to write the tension of it, yes, they are here to help but they expect the people of middle earth to stand down and let them handle it, and that will not go over well. I want the tension of them trying to reconcile two kings of the Noldor, them trying to treat Gil-galad as someone young, inexperienced and naive. They think he is going to step down, give his power away, give way to Finarfin's authority. Hell no. Then I want to see him show them who's boss and how they have no idea what they're doing and for them to teach the hosts how this place works, how to truly fight... then of course for the hosts of Valinor to gain some respect for the peoples of middle earth, maybe a Galadriel and Finarfin reunion, and a proper, respectful alliance lol.

(I have Thoughts about the hosts of Valinor finishing the war without the peoples of Beleriand lol)

From there it would be summary or jumping to the end of the war. I'm not sure if I will continue this to the second age, I prefer the first and third ages and know much more about them. But we'll see!

...okay this got a little long and rambly 😂 well I suppose that's always what happens when I talk about my fics lol

This fic, or theory I should say, actually started as part of another fic, but that fic has become a white whale and this one has branched off. This theory will be used in that fic, and this will be part of the universe that fic is in, if I ever get any in post-able form lol
