WOULD I: YES / MAYBE / NO HAVE I EVER BEFORE: YES / NO  ICON & WRITING SAMPLE (IF YES TO EITHER PREV. QUESTION):
i actually have considered getting into BNHA/MHA with a friend of mine but i just haven't been able to for the past couple of years. i think out of all the characters that interest me, Tsuyu is the only one that really piques my interest.
Tumblr media
not only do her abilities sound really cool, her personality is also unique to me. and how she's voiced sounds neat to me too. so, if it ever comes to fruition, she'll be one of the first muses!

title: from this perspective pairing: uraraka ochako x bakugo katsuki word count: 1,151 genre: fluff, comedy, angst but won’t make you cry, self-discovery synopsis: in which izuku watches his best friends catch feelings for each other.
Tumblr media
part 2: the summer
Izuku’s bull-headed childhood friend did his best at everything. No matter what it is. Be it handling quirks, close-range combat, long-range combat, studying, cooking, housework, playing instruments, or designing clothes. You name it. He’s practically perfect.
Except for having a crush on someone. He never did that before. He never experienced crushes. Katsuki Bakugo is uncrushable.
White Day followed after that sacred moment. As per old tradition, White Day is when boys are to reciprocate the gifts given to them or give obligatory gifts the same way girls do on Valentine’s Day. You can guess what happened next.
For the record, Izuku wasn’t stalking them. He happened to be within the vicinity. The vicinity was the dormitory’s kitchen where he tutored Ochako Trigonometry in the common room. She had given Izuku a heads-up that Katsuki asked to meet up with her that night. It wasn’t his business so Izuku didn't ask what it was for, but nothing stopped him from deducting assumptions.
Naturally, he’d worry for her. Katsuki never developed romantic feelings for anyone before. What if he tries to fight her for making him feel a certain way? Exactly, what if he beats his crush up or something?
Nothing could have ever prepared Izuku for witnessing Katsuki beckon Ochako to one corner of the common room away from their other classmates’ eyes. Izuku scooted himself behind the farthest corner of the counter and quite precisely eavesdropped. He doesn’t usually do something like this, nor does Katsuki usually give gifts to other people.
Izuku’s eyes went raw from how many times he’d rubbed them to be sure he saw this correctly.
He bought her a new pink umbrella.
And a pack of ice cream mochi.
The strawberry kind.
Her favorite.
It was inside a pink paper bag. A pink paper bag. He went out of his way to get a pink paper bag for her. Who is this man anymore-
After that second sacred moment, it was noticeable (for Izuku) that Ochako became significantly sweeter around Katsuki. She's sweet to everyone, however Izuku can tell that the gesture shifted something between them.
Ochako greets Katsuki more often, more specifically whenever she drops by Izuku’s desk. They would spar at most two times a week, much to Tenya and Tsuyu’s surprise the first time she’d told them. The most important of all is Ochako would occasionally drop by the kitchen whenever Katsuki’s on cooking duty and have a little chat.
It was beautiful. A beautiful change. Izuku might actually tear up.
Except Katsuki had no initiative on his part.
Sometimes Izuku finds himself staring at his childhood friend pathetically, which earned him death threats that he'd casually brush off. He can’t help it. It drove him insane.
It’s as if they were asking him to do something about this.
But no.
Izuku couldn’t possibly.
“You’re not going home? Kero.” Mina, Tsuyu, and Ochako gathered at one spot in the common room, discussing their plans for summer vacation. Ochako rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly from Tsuyu’s worried remark. “There’s no need, after all. My parents aren’t always home since they’re busy with work.
“It’s just a month. I’ll be fine!” The pink-cheeked girl displayed a smile that barely reached her eyes. Izuku and Tenya approached the girls after a moment of contemplating, visibly concerned over their friend.
Mina pouted, “‘Chako chip, you’re always welcome to join my fam and me if you ever get bored here, okay?!” The offer put another smile on Ochako’s face. “Thank you, Mina.”
“My place isn’t far from here,” Izuku proposes, “Want me to accompany you? I mean, if you don’t mind being stuck here with me.”
Finally, Ochako laughed. “You live here, too. Why are you asking me for permission?”
He scratched his cheek, “Well, you know,” and glanced at his peripherals to check if Katsuki was within earshot. He sat at the dining area two tables from where they stood. If there was an eavesdropper between the two childhood friends, it’d be Katsuki. It was worth a shot if the blond could think of an alibi to stay behind the dorms to still see her during summer break.
If he could just ignore the teases Mina does every time Izuku interacts with Ochako.
“I second the suggestion, Midoriya-kun!” Tenya jumped in, chopping the air with his hand.
“Thank you!” Ochako chirped, copying Tenya’s gestures like she usually does. “But I don’t want to hold you guys back from spending time with your families.” She regarded each of them, doing her best to lighten the mood. “We can have a sleepover before we part ways, how about that?”
With this, Mina squealed from excitement. “I love that idea! I’ll go get the others. Let’s go, Tsu!” And dragged Tsuyu with her for whatever reason. “It’s still 5 PM, kero.” And Tenya followed suit, already promoting sleepover protocols and sleep schedules while chopping the air again now with both hands.
Izuku huffed and crossed his arms, watching his classmates. He heard Ochako sigh. “I’m serious though. You don’t have to stay.”
He held his arms up as if to surrender.
She raised a brow. “Your mom probably misses you, too.”
He nodded and doesn’t say anything, as tears formed in her eyes. He inwardly fumbled, panicking, because his mom never taught him what to do when he sees a girl cry. He did know one thing.
“Hug?” He asked unsure, awkwardly holding up an arm to invite her. She chuckled, probably at how lame he looked, yet nodded and bumped her head on his shoulder with a quiet sniffle. He settled his hand on her head and smoothed out her hair. It wasn’t the first time they’ve hugged like this, but it’s definitely the first time in the common room.
Then it hit him. Like somebody spat on him, Izuku jerked his head towards the dining area. Eijiro now joined him at the table and seemed to be snickering at them. He, on the other hand, who had his back facing them, now turned his full torso in their direction.
Whatever it is kind of Kacchan emotion plastered on his face at this moment, it was not happiness. Far from it even.
Ochako shifted from under his chin, “For how long are you gonna hold me for, Deku?” She exhaled a giggle, wiping her runny nose with her sweater sleeve.
Izuku does not know what compelled him for what he responds with. Absolutely no clue.
“Until someone gets jealous.”
This made Ochako laugh from the pit of her heart. Izuku considered this as hitting two birds with one stone as he maintained eye contact with Katsuki. Who now looked more pissed off than ever. Glaring the complete hell out of the devious bunny-looking boy.
It only occurred to Izuku that he had been smirking all this time.
This might’ve been more fun than he let on.

However, ever since a dangerous incident in her childhood, her quirk hasn't been the same. Despite it all, she remains hopeful that she can grow to be a powerful Pro-Hero. Nothing will stand in her way.
Except, something does.
Someone by the name of Katsuki Bakugo.
-
TW] brief yelling and claustrophobic scenario
~Part 1~
A comically large door stood in front of you, and you almost laughed out of the sheer absurdness of it. In bold red letters the door spelled out “1-A”, with the center of the A being a small window.
‘Man,’ You thought, ‘UA really spares no expense… even on their doors.’
This was it, the moment you had been waiting for your entire life. You had successfully gotten through the recommendation exams and were enrolled in the top Hero Course in the entire world. With your heart pounding in your chest you pushed open the door and found yourself gazing at a sea of students all staring at you. Panic quickly filled your chest as the painful thought seared into your head, ‘Shit. Am I late on the first day?!’
Sweat dripped down your face as you scanned the seats carefully, trying to see if more than one was empty. Relief flooded your veins as you saw a few empty chairs still dotted across the room.
‘Thank god, that would have been so embarrassing.’ With a small sigh, You quickly gathered yourself, pulling at the straps of your backpack and headed towards the back of the room. Suddenly, a tall man stood in front of you, arms pointed straight up in an up-tight manner. His blue hair was gelled neatly into a comb-over, and his mouth was turned into a thin frown.
“Excuse me,” His voice was full of authority and if it weren't for the uniform, you'd think he was the professor. “You do not sit back here. It is important that we follow the traditional rules of the seating chart that our teacher had made for us.”
“Seating chart” You asked, staring up into his glasses. He nodded firmly and pointed behind you. Embarrassment flooded your body as you slowly turned to find a bunch of names scrawled out on the chalkboard, neatly forming a seating chart of the entire room.
“You sit closer to the front, by the green haired girl Tsuyu Asui.” He pointed towards a small girl who stared with wide eyes at the two of you, before giving a gentle smile.
“Ah, I see…” You glanced around the room and to your horror saw most of the class had observed the whole thing, and a few had begun to whisper silently to each other. You could feel your face heating up and you had no doubt you were turning an embarrassing shade of red.
“It is an easy mistake to make, but do not let it happen again!” He commanded, once more waving his arm up and down. “UA is a very prestigious school, and us students must remain the best of the best!”
“Gotcha… best of the best.” You lowered your head and shuffled over to your correct seat, and quietly set your bag down under your desk. The girl with green hair, Asui kept glancing over at you as you settled in.
“Don't worry about him.” You looked to your right, and saw Asui’s calm smile again. “He’s been correcting everyone so far, so don't think you're alone.” She giggled and you lifted your head slightly.
“That's a relief,” You sighed. “I was already feeling like I came in late so that just really stressed me out. But it's good to know I was just overreacting!” In the background, you could hear someone yelling at the blue haired man for being too noisy and disturbing the rest of the students.
A cheery voice suddenly piped up as the chair in front of Asui’s leaned back, hitting against her table.
“He's so uptight too!” She had pink hair and skin, and startling black irises with orange pupils. “He keeps yelling at me to not lean my chair back, when class hasn't even started yet! It's just soooo unfair!!”
Noticing the blue haired man on the other side of the room stiffen, the girl quickly set her chair back down.
“I'm Mina Ashido! And don't worry about my last name because you can call me Mina!! And I'm like, super totally thrilled to be here!!!” She gave another cheery smile while fist-pumping the air and you could feel your nervousness run dry upon seeing it.
“(Y/n) (L/n), but (Y/n) is fine.” You smiled back at her, then turned to Asui. “That boy said your name is Asui, right?”
“Tsuyu Asui,” She stated, pointing a finger at her chin. “But please, call me Tsu.”
“You've got it Tsu! That is such an adorbz nickname!” Mina gleefully called and turned back to you. “Hey wait a minute, I swear I've heard your last name before, aren't you-”
Just before she could finish, the door slammed open as a nervous green-haired boy flew into the room, staring at something out in the hallway. With another yelp, a brown haired girl followed in after him. Curiously, everyone stood up out of their chairs to peer out at the scene. To your shock, a large yellow sleeping bag rolled into the room before flinging itself upright.
Everyone stared in quiet shock as the bag unfurled open to reveal… a homeless man? He had incredibly horrible eye bags, and his hair hung in front of his face in knots.
“Good morning, class.” He droned, kicking the bag behind him. “Welcome to UA academy.”
“Hey, wait, I recognize you!” The green-haired boy sputtered out. “You’re EraserHead! The stealth hero!”
The class collectively gasped as a few voiced their agreements, claiming to hear about him on the news after a couple of raids. You personally didn't know much about him, but after a quick assessment you had a feeling he must be pretty strong to be teaching at UA. Although, if he wasn't ranked then maybe there was more to him that you couldn’t know about.
“My name is Shouta Aizawa,” He sighed before moving front and center to the podium. “I am your homeroom teacher here at UA, not for very long though it seems.”
“What do you mean by that?” The boy in front of you asked, tilting his head. “Are you quitting? Or ooh! Are you going out on some top secret hero-missions?!”
“If this class general impressions are much to go off of, I expect that you all will fail after the first day.” Mr. Aizawa’s cold gaze pierced the classroom, and a hush fell over the students. “You all are already so disappointing, and I can tell none of you have what it takes to become heroes.”
You clenched your fists under the desk, trying to not wither under your teacher's intense gaze. You thought back to last night, the fear of inadequacy still lingered in your mind, and you were worried he was reading it straight off of your face.
“However, that doesn't mean there's room to improve. That's the thing with our super-human society now isn't it. Today we are completing a quirk apprehension test to see which of you really deserve to be in my classroom.”
“But sir!” Mina shouted, leaning forward on her desk. “What about orientation? There's supposed to be a big event today!”
“I command my classroom as I see fit.” He scowled. “You can't spend your time on frivolous things if you want to be real heroes. Now put on these uniforms and meet me outside in five minutes.”
As he stepped away from the podium, the chalkboard slid to the side to reveal small cubby's that housed blue uniforms. Mr. Aizawa stepped out of the room, and with only a second to breathe your classmates erupted into pandemonium.
“Fail us on the first day? Can he even do that?!”
“He looked so serious, it was so scary!!”
“Maybe I'm not cut out for this…”
“He said five minutes! We have to hurry!”
With that last statement, everyone ran to the front of the room. You followed suit, desperate to grab and uniform as fast as possible so you could hurry to the grounds. However, everyone had become frantic with Your teacher's declaration. The entire class was piled around the board, pushing and shoving to try and find their tracksuit.
"Hey wait, you took my uniform!"
"No, this one has my number!"
“You damn extras… GET OUT OF MY WAY!”
A large flash of light erupted behind you as a boy with light blond hair shot to the front of the room, and started violently shoving people to the side.
“Kacchan! You shouldn't use your quirk inside, someone could've gotten seriously hurt!”
“Shut up you damn Deku!” He shouted back. You glanced over, tracksuit in hand just as a hand grabbed your shoulder, shoving you aside.
“Everyone calm down!” The blue haired boy yelled, desperately trying to restore the peace. “If we all go one at a time there won't be an issue in grabbing our uniforms!”
“(Y/n)!” A voice grabbed your attention as you looked out to the Tsu standing at the door, holding a crumpled suit with her…tongue? In a flash it reached out to grab you and yanked you out the door, releasing you just as fast as she captured you.
“Tsu!” You exclaimed, “Thank you! But wait, Mina is still inside!”
“I'm right here!” Her familiar cheerful voice shouted, just as she came running through the front door. “Man, that blond boy is scary!! He almost burned my face off with that fiery quirk of his! He's so violent!!”
The three of you started running down the hallway towards the back of the school, laughing off the stress as the rest of your class began to catch up. You didn't have a watch to tell you how much time you had left, but you really hoped you would all make it.
‘I really hope he doesn't fail us if we’re late, that would be really unfair.’ A shiver ran down your spine as you pictured having to go home to your parents. After all your training, you refused to let that happen. No, you would go home a victor. Well, in this case, someone who did not fail their very first day of hero school.
Once Mina finished tying her shoes the three of you ran outside to the field, where four other students and your intimidating Teacher stood. Mr. Aizawa held up a stopwatch, and barely glanced up at the three of you. One of the students was that blond boy with the “fiery” quirk, who was sweating but other than that seemed perfectly fine. The others were a bird-like man, a boy with split colored hair, and a girl with her black hair in a ponytail. While the three of you caught your breath, the rest of your classmates showed up, with the green-haired boy running to a stop just as the stopwatch went off.
“I expect better from you all. That’s what I get for having my hopes high.” He sighed again and pocketed the timer. “As I said before, today is your quirk apprehension test. It's exactly what it sounds like.”
As you continued to calm your racing heart, your teacher droned on about how society doesn't test quirks the way they ought to be tested, and that it would now be his job to change that. He explained that this test would be several fitness exams that would give the students a number, much like the normal entrance exam had. Although, a key detail mentioned had caught your attention.
“Whoever has the lowest scoring points at the end of the day,” Mr. Aizawa stated. “Will be expelled.”

My Hero Academia Chapter 428 Spoiler Talk: Did Kohei Horikoshi Just Blueball Us???
So, that just happened, huh? Not a bad chapter by any means. It was a solid, slice-of-life-ish chapter that continues to give us our beloved Class 2-A kids some idea of how life is going to be like now that the war is over:
The chapter starts off where we left off 2 weeks ago with the new first-years (the new Class 1-A) fangirling over Shoto and Bakugo. Iida has to step in to stop the chaos while Bakugo and Shoto hide behind him like little kids using their big brother as a shield 😂! It's cool to know that our kids have fans now and seeing them as Senpai to new Kohais is a nice idea to think about. I also like that there's a panel of Shinsou in the class to remind all of us that he's part of the main group now.
There's also a tall 1st-year who is inspired by Deku and wants to be like him after seeing him fight in the war! I love that for him 💚! I don't think Deku's really had any fans outside his classmates before, so it's nice to see how people are looking up to him like how he looked up to All Might.
A little later, we see our Class 2-A working to help clean up the wreckage from the war with Fat Gum, Best Jeanist, and Edgeshot who FUCKING SURVIVED (BRO, HOW???) and is now just a big strand of string with a face and tiny string arms 😂😭! It's a funny visual for now, but Edgeshot says that he'll be better than ever hopefully which makes Bakugo show a wobbly, awkward smile 🧡.
I also love how much Bakugo has changed in general. It has been a slow, general progression, but it's clear that he's softening up and opening up more to the people around him. It's such great character development for him. I love this dude so much 🧡
It's also cool to see the kids work and use their Quirks to help clean up all the rubble. We've seen them do this a little before during the Provisional License Exam, but it's good to see it again because it's a good reminder that there's more to Hero work than just beating the bad guys and saving civilians. I can absolutely see how a lot of their Quirks can help out with clean-up duty, but I can't help but wonder how people like Jiro, Shinsou, and Kaminari use their Quirks though can already think of some ideas. Actually, Kaminari can restore power to towns and cities, but he can't use his Quirk to help pick up rubble.
The civilians and even the new Class 1-A kids come along and are more than willing to help clean up the mess too. The heroes are being trusted more again and then getting help from the people who they thought lost faith in them is a great sign for that bright future everyone hopes for. I also have high hopes for the new UA kids. They're already heroes in their own right by wanting to help during their first few days at the school. I also really like the look of the few new designs we get out of these kids. As expected of our mangaka!
Later that night, we are told that the students at UA aren't forced to stay at the dorms anymore, probably because things have calmed down after the war. This is good to hear because while I know the kids loved life at the dorms, I'm sure they missed their families too. I won't be surprised if some students in general decide to stay home for a while. I'm sure this also gives Horikoshi an excuse not to draw so many characters in one panel because god knows this man has his work cut out for him over the next 2-3 weeks.
The last couple of pages boil down to beautifully drawn panels of Ochako who's still keeping up that fake smile and optimistic façade and Izuku and Tsuyu worrying about her because something is CLEARLY wrong. Ochako does eventually break down remembering Himiko Toga and her fate. This chapter doesn't outright confirm nor deny what happened to Toga, but I'm pretty sure she's dead. I don't think Ochako would be this sad if Toga was alive in any capacity. It sucks because Toga had a change of heart in her final moments and I think she would have been given something of a second chance had she lived. But, maybe not because I don't know how society would really treat her if she was allowed to go out in public again. I would love for Toga to be alive, but I'm betting my gatcha money that she isn't... Still, this is a big loss for Ochako and I feel for her. I still can't help but feel we got blueballed on Toga's fate, though and I'm not sure how to really feel about that.
The final page shows us that Izuku used some embers of One For All to get to Ochako who's on the same hill back during the "We're Weird" conversation they had before the Final War. First off, Izuku bby 🥹💚. Second, this absolutely sets up Izuku and Ochako finally talking to each other since the Final War ended. I assume some kind of love confession is going to happen, but I'm not 100% sure because I don't know if now is a good time for that or not. Ochako definitely needs a shoulder to cry on and Izuku needs to talk to someone about what happened, so we'll have to see where things go from here.
Regardless, we have 2 chapters left and something has to happen before the end. It's going to be bittersweet next week though because we are getting the Cover and a Color Page in WSJ! These will be the last ones we get, so I hope they're special. Knowing Horikoshi, the art and coloring are going to be immaculate and I am going to cry happy tears for the next 2 weeks.
We will also get a 16-chapter tie-in chapter for the new You're Next movie by Yoko Akiyama, the mangaka for the spin-off Team Up Missions manga! I love her art so much! It's very similar to Horikoshi's, but the style and the coloring especially is so soft and cute! It's perfect for a slice-of-life-esque spin-off like TUM and she hasn't disappointed me yet. Plus, I'm 99% sure she did the manga tie-ins for the 2nd and 3rd movies too, so this was expected.
We're finally at the penultimate and final chapters of the series. I still can't believe it's ending. Just 2 weeks to go starting this Sunday.

Relationship Headcanons: Kacchako (SFW)
Confessions/dating
Ochako confesses first, by accident, right before graduation. Bakugo doesn't say anything until she tries to backpedal.
Before confessing, Bakugo would prepare a lot of Ochako's favorite foods "by coincidence" when it was his turn to cook for the group. She never caught on that it was intentional, much to his dismay.
Izuku knew about their mutual feelings before anyone else, because they both admitted it to him during different vent sessions.
Their first kiss happens just after patrol together. Bakugo had been acting strange during patrol, so Uraraka approaches him as he's removing his gauntlets to check in with him. Once she's close enough, he pulls her close and kisses her, explaining after the fact that he wanted to do that earlier in the day, but knew his gauntlets would get in the way.
Bakugo rarely (if ever) initiates any kind of physical affection in public, but secretly loves when Ochako holds his hand or hugs him where paparazzi can see.
Once he warms up to physical affection in general, Bakugo loves casual touches. Specifically, he loves rustling Ochako's hair as he passes, or resting his hand at the small of her back when they stand together.
Both Bakugo's and Ochako's hero agencies try to keep their relationship secret, at first. Bakugo blows up (literally) on a sidekick for flirting with "his girl," so they're forced to publicize the relationship for the sake of public safety.
Their relationship is actually extremely well-received by the public and "Dynaravity" merch sales padded their hero salaries quite nicely.
Mitsuki Bakugo absolutely adores Ochako and constantly tells her that she's too good for her son. At one point, she suggested that Ochako would be better off with Izuku...which went about as well as expected.
Ochako's parents were a little slow to come around to them being romantically involved, but Ochako's mother melted when she walked in to the family room to find Ochako asleep in Bakugo's arms on the sofa. Ochako's mother tells everyone she can about the pure adoration in Katsuki's eyes, much to his horror.
Marriage
Bakugo proposes to Uraraka two years into their relationship, at the Sports Festival at UA after jokingly asking her if she wanted a rematch. Unfortunately for the students, the celebratory uproar this caused postponed the competition for three hours. (Aizawa lectured them about wasting his time, but embraced them immediately afterward)
Bakugo and Ochako both wanted Izuku to be their best man/man of honor. Izuku became an officiate so he could stand in the middle. Ochako's maid of honor ends up being Tsuyu, with Bakugo's best man being Kirishima.
Children
They end up having two children, two years apart.
Daisuke (大輔) Bakugo- Male. Sandy blonde hair (like Ochako's dad) that grows in all directions with round, mahogany colored eyes . Insanely bright, and very helpful. A bit of a people pleaser. Quirk: Trigger-Switch: Producing nitroglycerin sweat from his hands, Daisuke leaves explosive handprints on anything he touches. When he claps his hands together, the resulting spark ignites the marks at once within a 30 ft radius (this extends to a greater radius as he matures). The more he touches an object, the greater the explosion. Prolonged use results in blisters/burns on his hands, causing him pain.
Hanabi (華火) Bakugo- Female. Chocolate brown hair, worn in twintails as a child, which evolves into tight French braids as a teen. Angular burgundy eyes. Ambitious, a little rambunctious. Has her dad's temper but is better at controlling it. Quirk: Sparks Fly: Hanabi can create floating balls of nitroglycerin sweat which she can propel toward enemies. Her preferred method of attack is combining the sweat into a large glowing orb, bright enough to stun enemies (similar to Bakugo's Stun Grenade), before peppering her enemies in tiny explosions. As her Quirk requires a lot of sweat production, Hanabi is at high risk of dehydration on the field. Overuse of her Quirk leads to dizziness, and in extremes, may cause her to lose consciousness.

Felt like sharing some speculation today:
All right, so we know My Hero Academia has the something of the same premise as X-Men in the sense that select a group of humans were suddenly born with powers, the whole 'evolution leaps forward’ deal.
We see in My Hero how the First Generation of people with Quirks, especially the ones who appeared non-human or semi non-human, were originally ostracized like the mutants of X-Men are, but then more people were born with powers and then more people had powers until it became a widespread phenomenon and ‘normal’ people became the minority and society had to restructure itself to accommodate the new normal.
Tumblr media
But have you read The Resurrectionist: The Lost Work of Dr. Spencer Black?
The plot is a 19th century doctor who theorizes that mythical creatures like the minotaur, harpies, sirens, and the like all existed millions of years ago but slowly interbred with humanity and eventually died out altogether.  So he believed that when someone was born with extra fingers, limbs, a tail or otherwise didn’t have the typical human shape, it wasn’t so much a mistake in genetic coding as it was the extremely recessive genetics of those ancient creatures trying to reoccur in the modern day.
...
Definitely an interesting premise, so now I’m wondering if the My Hero world has a cult, conspiracy theorists, or even some scientists/historians that have similar views regarding mythology.
If this whole Quirk thing happened back in the Stone Age where no one had the benefit of science or awareness of DNA, anyone born with an otherworldly power would have been worshipped as a deity. Or the ones born with a non-human appearance would have been reviled as monsters.
So following the idea of The Resurrectionist, maybe the sudden appearance of superpowers did lead people to take a closer look at the old myths and consider the stories of the gods/goddesses of old were originally stories of people with 'Quirks' who rose to power.  Humans with meta-powers ruled the world for a few centuries, then those powers inexplicably died off. For a variety of reasons or maybe unknown reasons, humanity lost that history but remembered the old stories and chalked them up to just myth until the powers that made it possible began to reappear full force several millennia later.
Some myths began as historical events but in being handed down hundreds of generations, the multiple tellings and retellings exaggerated them into the realm of impossibility.
Lightning/electricity powers:  Zeus, Thor, Hinon
Fire powers:  Hephaistos, Surtr, Hestia, the phoenix
Foresight:  Any seer, prophet, or oracle that appears in any myth ever
Ice powers:  Yuki-onna, Skadi, Morana
Water powers:  Poseidon, Chalchiuhtlicue, Anuket, Tlaloc
Plant-related Quirks:  Demeter
Gigantification Quirks: Giants, titans, nephilim
Ryukyu:  Is a dragon.  ‘nuff said.
All Might:  Herakles
Tokoyami having a bird head but otherwise appearing human is pretty reminiscent of the old Egyptian gods.
Hawks:  Any winged creature; take your pick.  Personally, the one that comes to mind for me is Hermes.  He only had wings on his sandals, sure, but the trickster archetype resonates.
Tsuyu: Naiads, nymphs, rusalki, any kind of water fae
Momo: Sedna (created sea life from her finger bones), Ukemochi no Kami (produces food from her own body)
Best Jeanist: This one's a bit of a reach, but the fabric thread thing coupled with the long, spider-like limbs kinda brings to mind the story of Arachne the weaver.
We do get a nod to Ancient Greek mythology with the prison Tartarus.  What better place to lock away beings with god-like powers than the prison of the Titans itself?
Obviously an incomplete list, but you see my point.
Personally, I'm leaning toward cultist ideology with this one as I find it hard to believe every civilization would have forgotten about a previous appearance of Quirks. But civilizations die off, civilizations are overrun by others and their histories are suppressed, maybe this hypothetical 'previous Quirk phenomenon' wasn't as widespread as the current one and so fewer people were affected and therefore fewer people were alive to verify the truth of facts, maybe this hypothetical time was from an age of oral history and nothing was documented properly, so not impossible just really, really improbable.
Still, I love mythology and I find it an interesting headcanon to think about.

Some thought for a couple aus
Wooden doll: Deku is probably the most popular hero to dress up as for Halloween because of the verity of masks
HMD: Pearl is class 1-A's class mascot, Hitoshi is Livid.
Norse/Marvel: Izuku turns ever so slightly blue during his match against Todoroki during the sports festival causing people to assume hypothermia
Shark bite: Izuku has a kiddie pool in his dorm to soak in that he sometimes lets Tsuyu use
Wooden doll
There are so many people dressed up as Changeling for Halloween or Cons, he has the most variety, they are very gender neutral and there's at least one mask everyone likes!
HMD
Pearl is for sure class 1-A's mascot and Hitoshi is having a mental breakdown.
NMML
Izuku can only turn the slightest shade of ice blue but when ever it happens everyone freaks out trying to take him to Recovery Girl. Cause what else could it be other than hypothermia! The sports festival is when it first happens.
Shark Bite
Izuku 100 percent owns a kiddy pool for the rare chance he dries out and he shares it with sue whenever he pulls it out. They absolutely just sit there and chat about their classmates while eating snacks and watching movies. They are bff's in this au.

Matchlit - Chapter 3
cw: situationship, family drama.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
The two of you keep mum.
After all, your kiss is not the climactic scene of a made for television teen romance, or a lusty, drug-addled haze in the back of a car.
To you, it’s something more akin to a hairline crack forming in the wall of a dam, through which there is now a trickle of a new class of affection, with the overall structure remaining sturdy and strong.
You returned to the bonfire that night as though nothing had happened and nothing more does happen, other than a single exchanged glance over the flames.
Lili recounts the mini (and yet extremely polite) spat June had with Denki just moments earlier to you in a hushed tone. She doesn’t ask you what you talked about with Katsuki, and you don’t tell.
---
The trip ends without further mishap, although by now the entire group appears to have noticed the tension between Shinsou, Shoto and June.
You and Lili press her for information in the back of the van going home, out of earshot of the two mentioned men, which healthily distracts you from the fact that you want to kiss Katsuki again. Badly. It was all you could think about as you gathered all your things on the way out of the cabin with everyone else, distractedly piling on items into Izuku’s already overburdened arms just like the rest of the group as though he were a pack mule.
You thought desperately about the warm feeling of his lips on yours and the bitter aftertaste of beer and the texture of his tongue until -
“You did WHAT?!” Lili shrieks and June nearly strangles her trying to muffle her voice. Mina whips around from her seat ahead with obvious interest and June and Lili both give her a wide smile to cover up the fact that they have the type of gossip that will spread through the former UA class like wildfire.
Mina pouts at not being included, turns and goes tapping away at her phone, presumably to complain to Ochaco, Tsuyu and Hagakure in their group chat. June breathes a sigh of relief but when she turns Lii is giving her an intensely disapproving look.
“Wait, what happened?” you try to catch up.
“Stop thinking about dick and listen,” Lili frowns and you pout at her. Ironically, you are the only one not talking about dick in this situation as June reveals that she may or may not have slept with the #3 rookie pro Hero currently sleeping at the front of the van.
Your jaw drops.
“In the same house as Shinsou?” you whisper.
Blood drains from June’s face as she grimaces.
“Listen, I didn’t intend to.”
“I didn’t even know you liked him!” Lili hisses. “What about your on-off thing with Toshi? I thought you were on again.”
June lets out a sigh, her shoulders slumping.
“Can we text about this instead?” she whispers back finally.
The rest of the bus ride is spent quietly, with occasional hushed sounds and shocked looks in the backseat. Shinsou doesn’t look in their direction once the entire way home.
---
Bakugou, an incredibly eligible bachelor of age 28, finds himself standing in the living room of his family home just days after he kisses you for the first time, and staring directly in the face of possibly the most beautiful woman he has ever met.
And it matters not for a second.
He should have known when his mother asked him to wear something nice and get a haircut, and he already regrets complying, once it finally occurs to him that this isn’t just a strange woman in his family home, about his age and smiling at him in a manner that is polite but not warm.
He resists the urge to ask her who the fuck she is, or the other people in his room that bear enough resemblance to her that it is clear that she is their prized daughter.
“Sit down,” Mitsuki hisses under her breath, nudging him in the ribs. He wants to turn and leave. His father sighs and pulls out a chair for his mother so that they can face the waiting couple with their annoyingly beautiful daughter in the center.
The older woman eyes him carefully then smirks. She’s dressed lavishly to the point of being slightly gaudy, unlike her daughter whose stare is fixed. Again, polite but not kind. Staring, as though she is assessing the situation. Her not-glare reminds him vaguely of himself and it makes his stomach turn.
“Mitsuki-neechan, why does it seem like your son has been ambushed?” she laughs. The blood drains from her face but she laughs back in turn, reaching behind her to attempt to yank him in the seat beside her. To save face, Katsuki sits, because he is older now and more mature, but he is angry enough to spit bile.
“He’s just not used to so many people, are you honey?” she turns to him. Katsuki doesn’t look at her because if he does he’ll say something and it will be foul.
Masaru attempts to change the subject.
“We’re so happy you were able to come in despite the unforgiving weather these past few days.”
His counterpart nods, also uncomfortable by the exchange between the middle aged women, and hangs desperately to the change in tone. “It’s a lovely day today on the other hand.”
“Your home is quite lovely,” he adds, looking around quickly, finding something to compliment.
“Who the hell are you all?” Katsuki finally says in a gruff voice that is more curious than annoyed, and Masaru swallows a groan.
The young woman doesn’t laugh, look upset or scoff, still even kilter. It unsettles him and he looks away from her to her mother who legitimately clutches the row of pearls on her neck.
“How uncouth,” she tuts, then looks at her daughter. “Why don’t you introduce yourself to Dynamight?” she asks.
The daughter gives her the hint of a glare and it is gone as fast as it’s there, to the point that Bakugou is not even convinced he saw it. But he did.
She smiles wider, and it is even colder. Political even. Her eyes are a royal shade of purple and piercing, in sharp contrast to your gentle ones, and she adjusts her hair a little too gracefully, dark silk placed behind her ear before she addresses him.
Her voice is soft and controlled and she speaks in perfect diction. Katsuki wonders if she’s ever raised her voice in her life, whether in anger or in joy.
“My name is Kasumi. Pleased to meet you Mr. Dynamight . Or should I say, Katsuki-” Katsuki grimaces at the informality, “- since we’re apparently in the process of discussing marriage?”
---
The second the family leaves - Kasumi’s mother Hiriko giving far too many air kisses to Mitsuki for her to keep up - Katsuki can feel his fingers starting to spark.
And he doesn’t hold back.
“You must be out of your fucking mind, woman,” he hisses. Masaru’s head is in his hands and Mitsuki looks just as furious, standing to her feet.
“You’re nearing 30 and you have not a single reasonable marriage prospect because of your shitty attitude and you’re getting mad at me for securing you a near- princess ?!”
“Who the FUCK asked for a princess?!” he yells back, fists clenched. Mitsuki grits her teeth.
“I don’t have to ask you to do what’s right for you!”
Masaru makes a sound in hope to de-escalate but both have terminated the conversation, parting ways immediately with a march in opposite directions. Bakugou slams the door as he leaves.
As he drives home, mind still racing, he tries to recount the last few hours. The reality as he recounts it is horrifying.
He’s engaged, supposedly, to a woman he’s never met. To the daughter of a childhood friend of his mother that he’s never heard about and who he can clearly tell she hates yet wants so desperately to impress.
He can’t think of anything that could be worse in this particular instance.
Not to mention the fact that he’s just kissed you, and still needs to sort out what that meant to him. He can only run from these feelings for so long.
And perhaps he is running right into a brick wall.
---
You awake on a day just like any other, indulging yourself with eggs on toast for breakfast before making your way out of the house.
Your schedule isn’t too busy this week - no missions and no patrol, so you can focus on your true passion, photography. Cameras in tow, you head out to the city to work on more snapshots for your portfolio.
Too many of your subjects end up recognizing you despite not being in costume, and you make polite small talk while thinking of a better disguise. You’d never really hated the celebrity status being a Pro Hero afforded you, but it did make things inconvenient at moments like this. By the time evening comes, you’re satisfied with the shots you have taken and sit in the park, texting to your groupchat as June defends herself for the tenth time this week.
You have to break it off properly with him!
We weren’t even dating!
He thinks you were!
A thought bubble arises then disappears. You consider de-escalating but then June starts an abrupt video call.
“I’m not responsible for his feelings!” is the first thing that comes out of her mouth.
Lili looks irritated but keeps her lips tightly pressed.
“She’s right,” you speak up.
Somehow through the screen you can tell Lili has now shifted her attention to you and is mad at the betrayal.
“Okay but I need him to stop calling me like I can fix this,” she complains. “Leave me out of it, whatever it takes.”
“You’re not even in it,” June says, and suddenly she gasps. “Shit, there’s a robbery, be right back.”
Lili sighs, then in a dejected voice bids her good luck.
“Break a leg or something. I mean don’t actually break the robber’s leg but don’t get hurt.”
You wave as Lili drops off the line as well.
You’re thankful you don’t have relationship drama, not knowing that yours may be brewing sooner than you think.

Not sure if you’ve answered this so if you have, my bad but how would bonding work if ibara was for blackwhip, setsuna for danger sense, and kinoko/camie for smokescreen. Btw love your fics
Glad you enjoy my work!
Cool, might as well give this a shot (he said, hoping the floodgates don't open and swallow him up).
Reminder for the uninitiated, in 849, a third stage Bond between Izuku and one of his significant others results in the girl involved getting 1% of One for All, and the following enhancements happen... 1: One for All empowers the girl's original Quirk. 2: The associated past user of One for All's Quirk enhances the girl's Quirk, or is ported over in its entirety 3: The girl's Quirk enhances Izuku's use of the past user's Quirk
Ibara Shiozaki, via Blackwhip. Not something that was ever in the running. I didn't expect her to be cool with a polycule and the Tsuyu-Banjou connection (Blackwhip - Froppy Style!) was one of the sparks that caused me to come up with 849 to begin with. Still, it's a fun concept. In that case...
1: Shiozaki's vines get stronger, tougher, and grow faster. I'd also say that they can tasty fruits with healing properties. 2: Blackwhip's influence allows her to grow vines all over her body, not just from her head, though those wither more quickly. She can also protect her vines with Blackwhip's energy. 3: Izuku's Blackwhips can grow sharp thorns, causing much more damage when used as a weapon.
Setsuna Tokage was originally one of the candidates for the Second User's bond, and in a prior post, I offered her options as that Bond. And the Mei-Hikage connection was one of the four I started out with. But Lizard Tail Splitter has a huge sensory component, given that she can sense through her split pieces. So... 1: OfA would increase the range that Setsuna can split her body parts, alongside hyper charging her regeneration to nearly the same levels as the Nomu’s Super Regeneration. 2: Danger Sense would port over in its entirety. It's an easy Quirk to add to someone. Setsuna's own Quirk would allow her to sense Danger through any part of her. 3: Izuku could, essentially, "tag" a person, place, or thing with Danger Sense and be able to know whenever danger struck it. He'd start with a restrictive distance and number of times he can split his attention this way, but it'd increase with practice.
Camie Utsushimi, the Shiketsu student that Toga hijacked and replaced. She's very popular among a number of people I know, I wonder why? (my money's on the skintight bodysuit) Anyway, since I couldn't organically introduce her quickly, and I didn't want to drag out the bonds forming for too long, as I prefer relationships forming and growing between people rather than contriving reasons for characters to not start dating. So, she wasn't realistically on the table. But if I had chosen her...
1: One For All upgrades Glamour in two key ways. First she can produce enough mist that she can condense it to make her illusions solid, though they can still be broken with enough force, or blown away. Second, if someone inhales her Glamour, she can make them hallucinate in addition to her illusions. (blatantly copied from DeusVerve's Mirage AU) 2: Smokescreen gets ported over in its entirety, and can be used as a medium for Camie's Glamour. 3: Izuku can easily shape his smoke to make it appear as if they were objects. In one chapter of 849, I had Izuku create a crude Smokescreen-duplicate of himself that he used as a sparring partner, using Toru's light manipulation to make it look like several blobs of paint in a vaguely Izuku-shape. In this case, Izuku could make a perfect Smokescreen duplicate no problem.
Kinoko Komori, the mushroom girl. She's adorable, somewhat shy at first, but utterly powerful and, as the meme goes, you cannot kill her in a way that matters. If I didn't love Hagakure's peppy nature so much she could have been a candidate for the bond with En. And if she did...
1: Did you see how powerful her mushroom spore Quirk was in canon?! And you want to juice it with OfA?! Game over, man, game over! I took an ecology class taught by a mycologist in undergrad, and dear god are fungi some of the most insane organisms on the planet! What will we get? Fireproof mushrooms? Ability to grow no matter the light or humidity? Re-enact The Last of Us? I don't know, and I don't really want to. 2: Oh fuck, a mushroom's main weakness is sensitivity to light and you want to add Smokescreen to make it go away? Do you want to hasten your inevitable decay? Because Smokescreen WILL be ported as is, and it would contain all of Kinoko's spores. If the Smokescreen contains humidity as well, villains might as well just skip the middleman and arrest themselves to save themselves time and agony! 3: I suppose I'd make it so that Izuku's Smokescreen could drain the vitality of people trapped inside it, or perhaps clump together to impede people's movements. But that paltry power is nothing compared to the goddess of death that he just unleashed upon the world. Be grateful that I didn't add Komori to the polycule in this fic. It would've been all over but the shouting the second her bond formed.

It's a long time coming, but once S'ria is healed enough to travel on his own, he arranges a long overdue trip to visit someone in Doma. (Post 6.0)
Ao3
(vague references to sexual abuse)
S'ria trekked up the steep cliff on foot – it did not seem right to shortcut his way up via flight, this needed to be under his own power.
He'd considered asking G'raha to come with him, but he felt he'd rather do this alone. Even if alone meant G'raha worrying for him, with fighting being barely feasible yet at this point of healing. Even if alone meant him being absolutely exhausted after the teleport into Yanxia, he'd bear that.
And Hien had been kind about letting him regain his strength for a bell or two, all but insisting he did, so it was far less of a strain than it could've been. Hien had also looked at him with a gentle smile – sympathetic but confused – when S'ria requested directions to a location few knew of.
This was just… necessary for him, even if it would not be physically or emotionally easy.
Finally cresting the top of the hill – more of a mountaintop, perhaps – it was a relief to duck under the shade of the tree overtaking half of the small patch of land.
Even with a cane he'd brought along for such a trek, he still felt overexerted and a touch nauseous by the time he made it up – and gods did his leg hurt. G'raha would surely tell him that he had been overdoing it, when he returned home after this.
The shade helped greatly, though, and he took in the space properly. It overlooked many of the surrounding valleys, even the ocean was visible from here – as well as the wreckage of Doma Castle. Any sight one could choose to see was viewable from here… perhaps this had been chosen to give as many options as possible, if one view displeased.
S'ria carefully wove through the patches of spider lilies, unwilling to crush any underfoot. He wondered if they'd been planted intentionally in a fit of morbidity, or if they'd simply forced their way up through the ground in the slow dissipation of any remaining aether from Tsukuyomi’s summoning.
And there, just at the roots of the tree, was a simple marker. Nondescript, no sign of who may possibly be buried there. S'ria sat by it, leaning against the tree.
It'd been a very long while since the last time he'd had such a quiet moment with Yotsuyu – if ever, actually. He could think of one or two moments with Tsuyu that had been so still and peaceful, at least.
It was kind, though no less than S'ria expected, for Hien to grant her both funeral rites and privacy against desecration. He had not been unwilling to tell S'ria the location, but if anyone else thought to ask, S'ria expected Hien may refuse or play dumb on the matter entirely.
It was nice that he understood S'ria bore no ill will. It'd been well over a year since, now, and so much had happened in the meanwhile. Plus, the way things had ended… he wished it could've been different – he did not delight in this outcome.
S'ria was not sure what to say – he expected a still living Yotsuyu would not be thrilled by a ramble, so was monologuing to her corpse improper then? Though, perhaps some of what he had to say would've brought a small measure of comfort – maybe.
The rambling, S'ria felt, was what he most likely meant to do when he came here anyway.
“Hello, I – I don't know what to call you. Yotsuyu was your name, but you only ever seemed happy as Tsuyu… ah, well. I think I have different things to say to each of you.”
S'ria made himself more comfortable, stretching his leg out in a position that made it hurt a bit less. He took one cautious moment of listening, before he said anything that must not be overheard, but there was no sound except wind in leaves and distant birds.
“Tsuyu, I…wish things could've been different. Even in the days before I realized why I was so affected by you, I could not help but be attached. It seemed such a kindness, for you not to have to remember the bad parts… I thought of you often, those first few days after my childhood memories began to return. It must've been so awful for you too.”
He carefully smoothed the shakiness from his voice.
“I hated Asahi so much for forcing you through that.
“And then again, later – all I could think was that if I was able to forget what Zenos had done to me, then I could just move on.”
S'ria paused, a wry smile on his face.
“I don't have some sort of grand and wise answer for why it's better that I know, or any claim that I'm grateful for it. I'm not. I'm just… trying to exist in reality instead of hoping it'll just go away.
“...Gosetsu is still heartbroken, but in good enough health while traveling still. I'm sure he's been by to speak with you, long before I got around to it. I just hope you're resting well.”
S'ria leaned his head back to look at the tiny patches of sky through the leaves. “Ah, that was the easy part, though. Yotsuyu, I have… more things to discuss.
“I hated you when we first met, and even more so when you explained yourself at Doma Castle. ‘How dare she’, I thought. I took it rather personally and yet –”
He laughed derisively.
“I felt so high and mighty that it just made me feel guilty. I was so certain that I would not have stooped to your level, but who was I to impose my beliefs onto your life experiences, if I could not understand what you had been through? The gender dynamic of it was not lost on me either. How very bold for yet another man to judge you and think he knows better. And your story…it made me so uncomfortable to dwell on – though I didn't for very long. Gyr Abania called.
“Having no memories, it was easy to idealize the idea of home. I couldn't help but wonder – if I had been raised there for all of the occupation, hurt by soldiers and self-serving countrymen, would I have hated Gyr Abania the way you hated Doma?”
S'ria sighed. “After I remembered things, it was easier to judge you again. I'd suffered, and was still mostly kind, so you had no excuse – so I thought, stupidly. It felt horrible to think, but I felt even more vindicated because I'd been a decade younger when I was sold off – so obviously I'd ‘had it worse’.”
He scoffed, shaking his head.
“I never would've thought such a thing about any other victim. It was horribly unfair of me. Our experiences after weren't the same, though. Once I was free, I had people by my side that wanted to help. And even then, the moments of rage I felt towards Garlemald…
“I was surely not kind or merciful to them, even before I knew why – or, Fray really wasn't, which is on me too.”
S'ria looked down at his hands, battle-worn callousing from the handle of Fray's sword visible.
“I wish that my experiences were unique, but in Gyr Abania and Othard both… it was the same atrocities everywhere.
“So it's very easy to imagine a version of events where I went to Garlemald and was satisfied by the suffering. Soldiers and civilians alike, just damn the place – abusers and enablers one and all… it would have been easy. We really… are not so different, aside from the few things that mattered most – friends, a chosen family, time. I could’ve been like you, or you like me, if things were just a little different.”
The tears welled up, and he knew there was little point in fighting them. S'ria had been prepared for crying as a possible outcome of this visit – at least it should be cathartic.
“So I think I'm mostly just here to say... I'm sorry for judging you unfairly. I'm sorry that any of that happened to you. I'm sorry that no one was ever there for you in the ways you needed.”
He wiped at his eyes fruitlessly.
“I just… I'm sorry. I don't know if anyone ever said that to you, and you might hate it – but it's not pity. I hope that…us not meeting violently in the Aetherial Sea means that you are at peace now. You deserve it.”
S'ria took a single very slow breath in and out, plucking a spider lily to tuck into his hair. His eyes drifted closed, the warmth of the day now perfect with the tree shading him.
“I'm going to rest with you a little while, before I make the trek back down. I hope that's alright.”

A/N: FORMATTING THIS FOR MIDNIGHT FROM AT 11:53 PM YEET
Tumblr media
Chapter Summary: January flies by as you begin a new semester. Izuku falls deeper and deeper. You begin to fear you may never pull him out.
Warnings: off-screen minor character death, murder talk, blood
Word count: ~3300 words
Tumblr media
January comes like an old friend, the cold biting, the snow settling over the house and the lawn in a gentle, untouched blanket. Izuku has spent most of it—all of it, except for when you drag him out somewhere—inside, focusing on grading, on work, until the exact moment he can break away to his real project of the day:
The Fucking Death Adder.
("Fucking" is not part of the man's serial killer alias, but it might as well be for how Izuku thinks of him.)
Four days into January had woven the threads Izuku had been collecting into a dead end. Nothing seemed to be happening anywhere—had the man gotten injured and was recovering? Or had he decided to lay low in light of too much attention? It couldn't be that he knew Izuku was getting closer—his habits hadn't changed except for you. Still he spent his time inside, squashing the occasional media request from a desperate journalist who still remembered his past and focusing more on his students than on things like getting an appropriate amount of sunlight for a vampire or remembering to drink. Still he isolated himself. Still he appeared to research, and teach, and teach, and research.
He wants to be grateful for his time spent studying languages, but his decent Russian only gives him enough to know that the news site he's scouring has nothing to say about mysterious murders matching the description. Neither does any of the others—in other words, just as much information as he had before. The man could be anywhere, and here Izuku is, sitting still.
Sitting still and waiting.
~
It is with great displeasure that I must inform you that suffering does not come to an end. Not even minor sufferings, or medium-strength sufferings that beg you for a steady supply of extra-strength Tylenol.
Or, in this case, not only one familiar face, but two, the first sitting just across the aisle from you in a bigass auditorium in a too-cold building on campus so that you’re stuck shivering with an arm not yet healed enough to make long sleeves comfortable.
Blond hair and a resting annoyance face.
Further ahead, towards the front of the room (you think making a point not to turn around and be forced to acknowledge Neito’s presence) is a head of fiery hair. It seems Itsuka and Neito still aren’t getting along. (Did they ever?)
Neito waves at you. You consider dropping out of college.
(If Izuku weren’t now also paying your tuition, too, you might.)
(You should really consider getting a job.)
On the bright side, suffering comes with good things! On Tuesday, there Mina is, TA’ing your general education credits-mandated dance class! When class lets out, you hang around and walk out of the building together.
“You didn’t intentionally take my class, did you?” she teases, eyes playfully narrow.
You snort. “No way. How do you even TA for dance? Gonna be grading papers this semester? Proctoring dance exams?”
“Oh, totally. For sure. Definitely.”
You check your phone. For the millionth time since New Year’s.
“You good?” she peeks at you.
You shrug. “I just… Did Tenya happen to mention why…”
“Oh. That. He hasn’t said anything… maybe ask Tsuyu? I know she and Tenya have been hanging out, like, constantly.”
Something in you twitches in discomfort. You can’t place it—why should you care? They’re your friends. If anything, you’re pleased that for once, people are getting along, seeing as how you tend to collect people who are incompatible on a fundamental level. (Case in point: Tenya and Izuku. Case in point: Neito and half of your friends.)
(Whether Neito counts is debatable.)
So you’re glad, really. And you don’t care! You don’t have a reason to care about something like that!
“Since when?” you ask.
(Dammit.)
“Since New Year’s, I think. Chalk it up to bonding over not being drunk at the party, I guess.”
“If only that worked.” You force a smile. It comes too easy to you. Why do you have to force it? “And yet the usual two are still at each other’s throats.”
She snorts. “Got that right. I’m not sure you’re ever getting those two to agree on anything, sorry.”
“Haha, yeah.”
(God, you really just said “haha” out loud.)
(It’s worse than you thought.)
Mina arches a brow your way. You hate her nose for these things. Ear. Whatever. She should take a journalism course and leave you to not acknowledge your problems. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing! Nothing’s wrong. I think I’m just stressed. You know, all the classwork, and I didn’t really get any rest over the break, and—“
“Oh?” Her voice drops low, teasing. “What were you up to?”
You roll your eyes, batting at her shoulder. “Shush. I was doing some personal research.”
“On what? Vampire anatomy?”
“I’ll bite you.”
“Go for it. Bite your hot landlord first, though!”
“Oh fuck you,” you reply, though there’s no bite to your words and you both know it.
She smiles. “There’s [name]! You were getting all gloomy there for a bit.”
“Was I?” You tilt your head. Maybe you were. It’s already slipping away, though. Fuck, are you experiencing mood swings? Do you need to call up your old therapist? “Weird. I already can’t remember.”
She hums suspiciously. “You’re a good actor, though…”
“Really!” You take on a mocking tone. “You just make everything unimportant slip away, my dearest—“
Now she’s laughing and hitting your arm.
Whatever it was, it’s gone, and with it, the pair of you go, too.
~
Neito to [name] at 3:47PM
Neito: You probably don’t care, but I wanted to tell you:
Neito: I called the number for the therapist you gave me.
[name]: that’s great!
[name]: like, genuinely
Neito: Regrettably, it seems that I’ve been put on a waitlist. Who knows when she’ll actually be available, but I thought I’d tell you
[name]: oof
[name]: that sucks
[name]: she’s totally great though. worth the wait
Neito: I sure hope so. You said she’s good with trauma-type things, right?
[name]: oh yeah totally
[name]: did I ever tell you my roomate freshman year stabbed me?
[name]: *roommate
Neito: she WHAT
[name]: right? it was totally out of nowhere
[name]: yeah apparently a girl with a transformation quirk totally replaced my roommate for no reason
[name]: like my roommate was just a random sort because I didn't really have any friends to room with so we'd never met or anything
[name]: anyways so she was dead before we ever met afaik shit was wild
[name]: some other stuff went on around that time too so I just bucked up and forewent some meals to pay for therapy lmao
[name]: all that to say doc fuyumi's great! aside from the scar it's like it never happened lmaoooo
Neito: well, that's a rave review if I've ever heard one
Neito: but are you just like a magnet for trouble or something?
[name]: hey, that's not nice
[name]: apparently I'm ALSO a magnet for vampires, thank you very much
Neito: I'm sorry but I'm failing to notice a difference
You roll your eyes and pocket your phone. You're sort of hoping your troubling vampire magnet tendencies will help you find the answers Izuku's looking for. Best not to curse it.

The time flies on. Maybe it's your nose being in so many books and classwork, maybe it's the looming presence of your lack of a job (completely for lack of trying, mind you) in the background of everything, but it flies.
(Izuku's no longer sure what day it is, let alone the time. He's trying, really! But sometimes things are more important than sunlight and keeping regular schedules, and Sbeve is good at reminding him to eat every now and then. So if he sleeps at his desk more nights than not these days, that's between him and his desk.)
And then, as January melts into February, you check your email on your way in the door after class. It's an absent scroll—you're worried about a paper draft for your Quirk Genetics course; you've been checking for a notification of the feedback obsessively every day since you submitted it. You've been working hard on this paper, dammit, and—
(He's replying to an email from a student. Run of the mill questions, but he's sure they just missed the line in the syllabus they need. No big deal! A quick reply, and—)
Anyways, that's not the issue, not really.
(His fingers still on the keyboard, head tilted in confusion.)
The issue is that, as always, the house is eerily silent. Some days it's been like you lived alone in this mansion. You hate it—not because Izuku can't spend his time doing as he wishes, or because you're finding that the meals you've grown used to just having have started trickling out, but because Izuku is steadily growing worse along with it. You can barely count how many times you’ve had to remind him to feed, how often you have to drag him away from his damned desk to make sure he sleeps and dresses himself.
(His desk phone is ringing, the one intended for work calls. His desk phone never rings. Of course he picks up—he's got tunnel vision, but he's still doing his job! It's probably just a matter of something his colleagues need to know. Not a big deal, either!)
(If his hands twitch with nerves and his eyes skim a news article on his second screen as he picks up the phone, that’s between him and Sbeve.)
And you've tried to help! You have! But there's only so much you can do when the man doesn't even look for information in a language you speak half the time. It's shit like Russian, which admittedly is extremely cool but completely unintelligible to you!
(Whatever he had been typing is gone from his brain. The words on either screen are gone.)
But still.
(Dr. Midoriya? Are you there?)
The mansion's silence feels heavier than usual.
(“No, no!” he replies, voice strained. “Yeah. No. Sorry. Just… yeah. You get it.”)
(I do. No one’s gonna blame you if you take a day or two off work, you know.)
(He navigates to a new tab and pulls up his email. He’s got someone to contact. “Oh, I won’t be doing that. Can’t fall behind, you know? But I’ll give the poor kids a day off. Uh, yeah.”)
You set down your bag and scroll back through your emails, searching for any point of interest. Feedback, or a new assignment, anything to keep your mind off of how useless you're being while Izuku falls deeper into tracking a serial killer who might be dead by now anyway.
(“Does anyone know yet?”)
(The chancellor sent out the memorial email earlier. Depends how many have checked their email, I guess.)
Your breath hitches on the words "In Memoriam" in your inbox.
~
A message from the Chancellor
February 2nd, 2051
Fellow Ravens,
I am deeply saddened to inform you about the loss of one of our Senior students, Momo Yaoyorozu, an undergraduate student completing a degree in Biochemistry.
Momo was an exceptionally bright student. In addition to her work in the International Honors College, she worked in the KUC as a tutor, offering her expertise to all students in many fields. She participated in the university debate club and has won many awards in the College Bowl since her beginning at the school. Momo had accepted an offer to join a Master’s program with Ossenfelder beginning in the fall, furthering her education in biochemistry.
Our thoughts now are with Momo’s friends and family, those who cared for and loved her, and other Ravens who are touched by this loss.
Visitation for Momo will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM Saturday, February 11th, at Respite Funeral Home, 48th Street. A memorial celebration will take place at 5:30 PM Monday, February 6th, in front of the Kevin University Center.
The U of O Counselling Center can provide support to any students and other members of the campus community affected by the loss of Momo. The Dean of Students Office may also be a useful support resource for students and may be reached during hours Monday through Friday.
Sincerely,
Shouto Todoroki
Chancellor

There’s a bliss that comes with this. You’ve known it since the first bite, and you’ll know it to the last. In the time following a fresh bite, your mind is clear, your emotions lulled, the waters calm ahead. You’d like to think that it somehow soothes Izuku, too, to drink from you like this. He needs it, of course. Idiot’s been forgetting.
He pulls back, buries his face in your freshly-bitten neck. His exhale is heavy, but no heavier than yours, which comes out more tired sigh than you’d have liked. If you’re holding him too tight, if he’s holding you too tight, well, you’re both used to that.
“Did you know a Momo Yaoyorozu at the university?” he mumbles eventually, and you still.
“I was trying to convince myself I didn’t,” you admit, voice already creaking with tears. “She was one of my TAs last spring.”
His words come slow, halting, haunting. “They aren’t publicizing the circumstances around her death out of respect for the family. Those of us on faculty have been told to keep a close watch on all of our students for the rest of the term.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean—“ He pulls away, stares you dead in the eyes so you know he’s serious. “They think she was killed. Her family had a lot of money, but we can’t rule out other motives if she was killed. The police want to question any of her professors, in case they know anything.”
Your blood hasn’t warmed since you first read the email. This doesn’t warm it now. “Did—did they say why they think it was a murder?”
He stares for a second, eyes hard, and then looks away. “She was in one of my classes. I don’t know when they’re coming, but just in case, you should cover your arm and your neck.”
“What? You don’t think—“
He sighs. “If it is what I think it is, then it’d be best if they didn’t see me living alone in a massive house with someone covered in the same kind of wounds as the murdered student.”
Your eyes are blown wide as you nod. “Right! Yeah, of course!”
He smiles, drops his head against your shoulder again for a moment. “Thank you. Now let me deal with those wounds.”
He pulls out his usual bandages—these ones covered in tiny, smiling bats—and smooths them over the bite marks as always. His thumbs linger on the edges, eyes somewhere far away.
“Izuku?”
“Be careful, okay? I-I won’t force you into anything, just… m-maybe stay in at night when you can for a little bit? Just in case?”
You let out a breathy, tiny laugh. “Yeah. I’ll be careful.”
~
The cops come, just as expected, two days later. You’ve got a scarf on, and long sleeves that scratch, but aren’t nearly as uncomfortable as you were expecting. Too bad you had to go almost the entire winter before you were able to wear long sleeves again.
When you answer the door, it’s two men—one who looks more detective than cop, and another who looks more cop than detective. “Good afternoon, there. We’re here looking to speak to a Dr. Midoriya Izuku. Does he live at this address?”
You nod, studying them closely. Given the tails on the more-cop one, you can guess that he’s just got an animal quirk. On the other… nothing jumps out at you. He looks perfectly normal. Nothing that would indicate a quirk at all. “Um, yeah. I think he’s in his office. If you’d like to come in, you can sit while I get him! But be warned, our cat bites.”
You lead them to the living room, let them sit on the sofa. Before they can thank you, you’re bounding off toward the stairs, careful to maintain a calm persona even though you know what you and Izuku both want out of this situation.
It’ll be rough trying to get it, especially without casting needless suspicion on fifty year-old baby-faced Izuku.
Cops probably expect a healthy amount of nerves, right? Polite smile, wide eyes? But Izuku would have obviously known they were coming and what for, and if you live here, of course you have an idea, and—
You’re overthinking it.
You poke your head into that damned hidden office, eyeing Izuku carefully. He’s looking better than he has in nearly a month, hair as untamed as always but clean, clothes that he definitely wasn’t wearing yesterday or the day before. If nothing else, thank fuck those cops didn’t give a specific date for when they’d show up. Izuku has been forced to pay at least a little attention to himself in the meantime, not knowing when he’d need to be presentable.
“’Zuku, it’s the cops,” you say, gentle. He’s easier to startle these days, too, with tired eyes and the occasional growl sent your way if you don’t telegraph your entrances enough. “C’mon, they’re here to talk to you.”
He raises his head with a resigned sigh. Even having planned for them to show up (you more extensively than Izuku… I think) he’s unprepared, dragging himself after you. You’re careful not to say anything strange, not knowing the quirks of the cops sitting on your living room couch. The cat one likely has better hearing than average; the normal guy? Anything’s fair game. Best not to chance it.
You split from Izuku as he greets the cops (“Good afternoon, g-gentlemen!” with only the slightest stutter) and poke your head in to ask about drinks. If you’re listening, if you leave your phone on the buffet with the recording app on, no one has to know.
Friendly chatting, quiet, forced laughter from both sides. The kind of laughter you would expect to hear from men talking about a dead girl—trying to be jovial in spite of awful circumstances. Failing, just a little bit. You’ve got drinks down in front of them soon enough—water, tea, and the most concentrated coffee you can manage for Izuku. (A sludge, really.)
You linger in the doorway to the kitchen, unsure of whether they want you out of the room or not. They don’t seem particularly bothered by your presence, but the normal guy flicks his eyes between you and Izuku as if trying to decipher something. You can’t place it until you do, and then it hits you in the chest.
You miscalculated.
It’s real nice to think about keeping suspicion off the uninvolved Izuku, lest they realize he’s in his fifties and connected to a very high-profile case, but—
I’ll be honest, her wounds were… strange… one of the men says from the other room. Almost like bite marks.
You stride back in, keeping up the pretense of chasing Sbeve. You scoop the little terror up, cuddling him to your chest and lingering behind Izuku.
“If possible, we’d also like to talk to your… um…” The normal guy has his eyes flicking between the pair of you again, confusion written on his face.
At once, you and Izuku are reaching for an explanation, because shit, yeah, doesn’t it look suspicious if the professor connected to the dead girl has a similarly-aged girl living in his secluded mansion for no apparent reason?
“Tenant!” you blurt. (“R-roommate!” Izuku yelps.) “He’s my landlord. I rent a room upstairs.”
(The visible relaxation on Normal Guy’s face makes you even more tense.)
“Uh, the name’s [name],” you follow up lamely.
He believes you. More than his cat-faced partner seems to. Easily, too. Completely and totally easily.
And that?
That stresses you out even more.

Been thinking a lot lately about like, how would Bylgrael feel about Yotsuyu.  Stormblood is A Lot for Byl.  Papalymo dies, Y’shtola is almost killed, Zenos is after her, she’s butting heads with Lyse, she doesn’t like Hien and his fixation on honor, and in the middle of it all is Yotsuyu.
Obviously it’s a bad first impression with Yotsuyu torturing people at Isari because Byl is a good egg, but beyond that, I’m not so sure.  Rage and lashing out is a part of who Bylgrael is.  Her fight or flight defaults to fight 99% of the time, when someone hurts her, her instinct is to hurt back, hell even when she’s terrified and emotionally broken in ARR she turns some poor Imperial into meat sauce on reflex.  Once she learns what Yotsuyu has been through, she’s going to understand entirely.  She grew up with a loving parent and a comfortable upbringing, and even still that instinctual proclivity for violence as a trauma response remains, of course someone that grew up being shown no love, being treated with such cruelty and violence on all sides is going to turn that hatred outwards at everything around her.
To an extent, Bylgrael can almost see some parts of herself in Yotsuyu.  If she had endured even half of Yotsuyu did growing up, she too would hate the world.  So everyone calling Yotsuyu evil and irredeemable doesn’t sit right with her.  Bylgrael’s killed a lot of people too after all, motivated by hatred and a desire for revenge.  The Fourteenth Legion, the traitorous Crystal Braves, Thordan and his Knights Twelve, is she just as detestable as Yotsuyu then?
So when Yotsuyu returns as “Tsuyu”, innocent and free of pain, Byl is honestly kinda happy for her.  To be relieved of all her trauma, to start fresh and be happy, is something Bylgrael herself considered more than once over the course of ARR and HW, though part of her own growth is coming to accept that hardship has made her what she is and she wouldn’t give up what she’s gained for the sake of “fixing” the past.  It does however, bring her into very direct conflict with Hien who seems to lament that honor won’t let him execute Tsuyu.  Not because to murder an innocent woman for his own catharsis is obscene, but his precious code of conduct says he’s not allowed to.  And then when he finds out one of his own is a slaver, he’s all too willing to forgive him because honor.  Bylgrael is already a pragmatic woman that thinks honor is a load of bull, so Hien being so hung up on it and using it to justify his actions is just abhorrent to her.
Naturally, Yotsuyu regaining her memories and the battle that follows tears Byl up because again, this is something Byl can understand.  She knows that horrible cognitive dissonance of being so angry and vengeful, but also grief and self-loathing, of wanting to hurt people and take your pound of flesh, but to recognize by the same token how destructive and cruel your pain has made you and how you will hurt those that care for you if you were to act on your impulses.  She doesn’t want to kill Yotsuyu, but Yotsuyu wants to die, with her dying breaths lamenting that she deserves this end and the pain it cause to those that made the mistake of caring for her.  That’s already a heavy emotional blow for Bylgrael but then it’s immediately followed up by Alphinaud leaving for Garlemald and the fight they have about that, and capped off with Hien having the audacity to be dismissive of Yotsuyu’s death.
And if that weren’t enough, when the Scions start dropping like flies, culminating in Alisaie getting yoinked at Ghimlyt Dark, yeah Bylgrael breaks entirely and is reduced to a screaming near-mindless husk of rage and sorrow, just like what she imagined would happen to her if she had to endure the kind of pain Yotsuyu went through.
So yeah, wouldn’t quite say they were ever friends, definitely not romantic, but like.  Bylgrael would not say Yotsuyu was ever her enemy, or even evil.  Bylgrael would mourn Yotsuyu in that special “I wish things had been better for you because I see way too much of myself in you and I’m not ready to unpack what that means” kind of way.

Ask meme: Kirishima
Meme here
Why I like them: I love that he's so sweet and kind while caring about the people around him. He’s a good friend and I like that he remembers that the reason for a hero to get strong and “win” is to protect people.
Why I don’t: He hangs out with Bakagou to try and redeem him, however, he—like the rest of the cast—barely does the bare minimum in straightening Bakagou out. He barely calls him out and is often willing to overlook Bakagou’s aggressive personality because he’s so “manly” which isn’t good for either of them.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): I love how he comforts Tsuyu after they move into the dorms
Favorite season/movie: Battle training-Camp arc
Favorite line: Don’t really have one to be honest. (At least none that I can think of.)
Favorite outfit: I like his hero costume pretty well
OTP: Don’t have one to be honest
Brotp: Kirishima and Mina
Head Canon: Kirishima would love the street fighter arcade game and would be super addicted, but never wins the game
Unpopular opinion: Even though Kirishima is a bit of a good influence on Bakagou, the fact that he’s too accepting of Bakagou’s flaws and isn’t willing to call him out or put his foot down is bad for both their developments.
A wish: If Hori decides to write an AU where the characters are in a fantasy setting he has Kirishima go through an arc where at first he’s blind to Bakagou’s flaws because he admires him so much but over time comes to see he’s not perfect and some of his actions are harmful. From then on I want him to call Bakagou out and put his foot down on things (and no, I don’t just mean holding Bakagou back as he throws a fit.)
An oh-god-please-don't-ever-happen: Dying. I don’t want any of the class 1-A kids to die.
5 words to best describe them: Sunshine, sweet, optimistic, kind, protector
My nickname for them: Shark Boy

Part 3 - Chapter 20 - Anguish Shared
Blank Canvas Part 3
AO3 - here
Fanfiction.net - here
Happy Tuesday, dear readers! :D We're back again with another chapter. Got that promised sad fluff all ready for ya! Hope you like it!
Some reminders for you. In BC, the dorms opened early but were not originally mandatory. The ones who are in the 1-A dorms are Ochako, Aoyama, Kouda, Shouji, Shouto, and Satou based on plot stuff and the distance they were born from UA. Then for I-Island, those who were on the island were all the girls so Ochako, Hagakure, Ashido, Tsuyu, Momo, and Jirou as well as Kaminari and Tenya who helped out with the attack. Of course Izuku was there with Shouto, Mei, and Hitoshi. Then in the background were also Sero, Satou, Shouji, and Tokoyami. Just to be clear who was where to avoid confusion.
Linktree to all the things! This includes the discord, tumblr, and more! Join if you'd like! :D
Linktree to all the things!
End notes for the chapter are under the line.
‘Individually, we are a drop. Together, we are an ocean.’ – Ryuunosuke Satoro(Or Akutagawa...I found two different names.)
I'm basing Izuku's whole insistence on team work on this quote I found. One of my biggest issues with canon is that Midoriya tries to take everything on all by himself like All Might had done. Makes me want to steal Aizawa's capture weapon and catch him to I can noogie some sense into his thick head. Team work is a thing!
Anyway, I feel so bad for Izuku in this chapter. Thankfully I found a way to comfort him through Shouto who certainly isn't complaining. :P Plus I love to keep teasing the kiss. It's coming! ...eventually. ;)
At least Izuku is getting comfort and support from his friends and mentors as well! Sh-sh-shout out to Serif, Rogue, Mousy, Christina, and cooper for help with Kouda’s bunny name. It can be found in Kouda’s trivia section on the wiki and is stated in the MHA School Briefs #3 chapter 6. Yuwai escapes Kouda’s room and explores the dorms during Midoriya’s and Bakugou’s house arrest. it’s super cute and hilarious being from Yuwai's pov. XD
I'll reveal the full layout of the dorm assignments when we get to that part. But for now, Izuku is close to friends and far away from Bakugou.
One thing I'd like to point out for just randomness. When I started writing this story, I came up with the idea of Inko framing Izuku's success with the beach just as a fun little detail. Well, in real life, I actually eventually started working at a place that does custom framing and I have experience with that stuff having worked in the frame shop. I will never be able to look at framed things ever again. XD So at least to me, those three frames hold a lot of significance. Marking his accomplishments as well as showing the love and support of his mom.
We got to see Shouto's pov when it came to his childhood. Now Izuku knows more about Touya though not the full story. Just some things I felt he should know. :P Also bonding over trauma for the soft boys.
That's all for now! Next update starts Izuku official first day living in the dorms. We'll be meeting a character we haven't seen in a while and no, it's not Stain. I'm still figuring out when exactly works best for him to meet up with Izuku again. It will happen but not yet. Just wanted to rip that bandaid off now before you got your hopes up. I'm not that cruel. :P Anyway, more bonding and fluff next chapter! Gods know Izuku deserves a break from all I put him through. Tata for now!

Day By Day: Chapter 1 Preview
Dog Days
The world that they lived in was a superhuman society. The champions who stood up against the villains who decided to use their powers for evil were called heroes. That was the goal that all three students were aiming for. In order to make their dreams a reality, they enrolled at U.A. High School, one of the top hero schools in the country. And although they had been caught up in rather… harrowing events since the school year began, they were able to pass the provisional licensing exam only a few short days ago.
…well, almost all three of them at least. Katsuki Bakugo, due to his rough attitude, had failed the final portion of the exam. As a result, he was stuck in a remedial course alongside resident iceman Shouto Todoroki. Well… not for the next few days, at least. And that was all primarily due to what happened after the exam. Feeling the healing bruises on her arms and legs made Ruby Rose start to regret what had happened between herself, Izuku Midoriya and Bakugo.
Though, in hindsight, it was for the better. Midoriya and Bakugo — especially Bakugo — ended up getting a lot off of their chests that they had been keeping buried for quite a while. There were no more secrets left between the three of them. That was the one part of the whole thing that there were little to no regrets about. She could’ve done without all the fighting, though… Because of that part, they’re stuck cleaning the dorms top to bottom for a while. The first day wasn’t so bad. But things were starting to get repetitive, and Ruby Rose was starting to get bored.
Too lost in her thoughts, Ruby didn’t realize that she had zoned out completely until a wadded-up ball of paper bounced off the back of her head, snapping her back into reality.
“Quit spacin’ out, Red!” said Bakugo over the roar of the vacuum Ruby was currently in, his arm dropping to his side again. Ruby pouted as Zwei trotted up to her, picking up the paper ball that Bakugo had just chucked at her. “Your dog is doing more work than you.”
As he said that, Zwei dropped the paper ball into Bakugo’s trash bag. Ever since their fight, Bakugo had begun to be more open — well, as much as Katsuki Bakugo could be anyway — he had begun to accept that the dog’s presence was a staple in the dorms. Ruby had even caught him feeding Zwei some scraps from his dinner last night.
“My bad,” said Ruby, flipping the vacuum off to hear her classmate better. “This is just so repetitive. It’s starting to get boring.” She turned to the other person in the room. “Right, Midoriya?”
A head of green curls whipped around to face her at the sound of his name. “Huh?”
“Were you not paying attention, too?!” Bakugo barked, agitated.
“I was! It’s just…” Midoriya sighed. “I kind of zoned out, that’s all. Rose is right. This is getting kind of boring.” The first day wasn’t so bad since they had a whole list of tasks to do to keep them busy. Yesterday wasn’t so bad either. But now that they were on the third day of their house arrest, there was less trash and less dirt to deal with. There needed to be some kind of change, or Ruby was going to lose her mind.
“It’s punishment. It’s not supposed to be fun.” That was… true, but only if they let it be.
Midoriya shot him a look. “That’s not what I meant, and you know that.”
“Look on the bright side, Bakugo,” said Ruby with a small shrug. “At least the dorms aren’t as bad as the cafeteria was after our food fight.”
“Don’t fucking remind me about that,” said Bakugo, biting back a groan. He turned towards Ruby, eyes narrowed. “And most of that was your fault!” All Ruby could do was shrug in response. He wasn’t exactly wrong.
“Was the cafeteria really that bad?” Midoriya asked Ruby, seeing as Bakugo was going to be no help.
“I mean…” Ruby said with a shrug, “you saw how we looked after.” She and Bakugo — along with Denki Kaminari, Mina Ashido, Eijirou Kirishima, Hanta Sero, Ochako Uraraka, Tsuyu Asui, Tenya Iida and Shouto Todoroki — were about covered head to toe in food that Lunch Rush was not pleased to see had gone to waste.
…then again, them being so thoroughly stained that Ruby had to throw out the uniform she wore that day might’ve been her own fault, given the move that she had pulled off to end the fight splattered everyone and nearly everything. On the plus side, though, it gave Ruby the inspiration for her first super move.
Silence fell once again as the group went back to cleaning. A short while had passed before Ruby bumped into Bakugo, who was standing in the middle of the dorms’ common room.
“Sorry,” Ruby said quickly before Bakugo could snap at her for not paying attention. To her surprise, he said nothing. It was like he didn’t even notice her. And here he was just saying that she shouldn’t be spacing out. He was spacing out now, too! …or did he turn his hearing aids off as soon as Midoriya and Ruby started talking while they worked? “Hey. Bakugo.”
“Ha?” Bakugo responded, not bothering to look over at her. Okay, so his hearing aids were still on.
“What’s up?” Bakugo said nothing, only gesturing to the sight in front of him: a fluffy ball of white. "Is that...?" Ruby blinked, staring at the creature in front of her. "Is that Koda's rabbit?"
The full chapter will finally be up on Ao3 on January 21st!

The Hero Rapture
The Hero Rapture by IdeaHunter
One day, in Musutafu, a terrible accident in an apartment killed three people and injured many others. The deceased were a family consisting of a father, a mother and the four years-old son.
The vermin started coming, and refused to leave. It was manageable, at first, nothing more than a wasp nest or a spider in the attic; but soon the whole city was infested with every kind of insect and parasite imaginable. Not even UA was safe from the infestation.
A new vigilante hit the scene. This one was unlike anyone had ever seen before: he roamed the streets at night, more akin to a ghost than a real person. No criminal could harm him, no hero could apprehend him. Those who faced him would tell what happened with a haunted look on their faces.
How are these three events connected? Well, it involves a boy, his quirk and what remains of his dream.
