Anger has always been a useful emotion behind which grief dwelt. Being the last of her own sisters, and having lost Jane to Valhalla, Valkyrie knows it well-- and she knows just how much Carol has lost, too.

She is worried about her, in fact, and it has perhaps been apparent in her frequent visits of late, but Valkyrie does not mind it at all. Had she not, after all, promised Carol that she would never let her be alone?

Apologies if you've already answered it. I've been reading your metas today and linked posts and ngl I really love them and I feel like we're in full agreement with everything.

With season 2 of Loki merely 6 weeks away (idk, are you going to watch it? I think I will, regardless of my current feelings about it) what are your thoughts about the upcoming season? What do you expect we'll get in it? Do you have any hopes for it, or do you think it will be more of the same. The current promo does not give me a good feeling tbh. Also do you think Hiddleston could leave the mcu at the end of season 2? Or at least if this could be the last time we see TVA Loki. Sorry for lenghty ask 🙈 my season 2 anxiety is off the charts, I expect it will be more of the same with Sylvie leading the story and Loki following her and I'd love to hear your thoughts about s2

Awww, thank you!!! Season 1 was something I felt so deeply for! All my hopes and dreams were focused on it. And then it shattered me in a way I didn’t know was possible. Now, I see that it took me a full year to cope and decode what I was feeling. The metas I wrote during this time (including the survey) are more like an open diary of how I processed the show and stabilized my mental health. It means a lot to me that now those thoughts may help others, too. 💚

I’ll put the answers under a cut, because there are some triggers included.

what are your thoughts about the upcoming season? What do you expect we'll get in it?

Frankly, I expect the season to focus mainly on Sylvie and her character development. If I put my criticisms aside and try to see what the creators wanted to do with the series, it looks to me like their only goal for Larry was to morph him from a villain to a hero in a way that would be undeniable for the general audience. This was achieved by him watching the video and finally finding someone he cares for. So his arc was completed in season 1. His role now is probably to serve as a guide for her, and maybe to discover that his true power is only achievable through or with her. I don’t count this as “his” arc especially, but more the core of the general admiration Sylvie is supposed to get from everyone in-universe. It’s a part of being a Mary sue. As is excelling at everything, even stuff that is opposite to your characteristics and you have no former knowledge on that would make it seem believable you’d excel. Like this, you know?

I‘m quite certain of this because Eric Martin is a huge fan of Sylvie and the ship. If you want to confirm I suggest looking at his Twitter. His tweets imply he intends to stay true to Waldron‘s and Harron‘s original ideas. This was confirmed by some people working on the set of season 2. I made the effort to find the original post, and it turned out that two people contributed to the post I experienced as thoughtful and reliable on Reddit. I personally believe those leaks.

I think it will be more of the same. Sorry, I wish I could tell you something more to your taste. I absolutely share this feeling, and so do others.

This article claims that Tom was supposed to leave the MCU at the end of season 1. Allegedly, season 1 was supposed to have 12 episodes and only was cut short because of Corona. This would mean that the original end of season 1 would be now the end of season 2. Does this mean he will leave? I can’t say. Disney‘s stock is progressively decreasing. Social media opinions on the MCU seem to grow more and more negative and depreciating. Perhaps Iger and Feige feel like Tom is one of the last strong pillars and try to keep him. At this point, I wouldn’t put it past them to try to keep the MCU afloat with Tom’s personal fandom. I don’t think that will work since Google stats show that his popularity decreased after season 1 to a point where it is now below the level it was after endgame. But they might attempt it.

Or at least if this could be the last time we see TVA Loki.

Even if he leaves I assume cameos are always a possibility, especially now that the studios are utilizing AI. But Loki? I‘m heartbroken, but I am very sure we have seen the last of him in TDW (and Ao3). May his reign bring him all the joy he deserves.

I honestly don’t know. I certainly won’t pay for it. The last time I always watched the episodes was the day they came out so I could write my thoughts down here. But ngl, I’m tired of the fighting, the anon hate, and the feeling that opinions online are getting more important than the love for Loki. Right now, I’m trying to focus more on my fanfics than on the canon. Season 1 made me unable to continue my fics for almost a year. I don’t want to repeat that with season 2.

I still think that the show has done great harm to the fandom, to (some) people with poor mental health who needed Loki as a focus point, (some) gender-fluid or non-binary people who got exposed to sexism because of it, and possibly Tom‘s reputation (based on the google trends Infos). But for season 2 we know what to expect. We know it’s not Loki but Larry who will appear. And in this case, I think it might be best to leave the season to those it was made for, so they can enjoy it and keep as far away from it as possible.

If you want to watch it and still want to give Disney some negative feedback, I recommend watching every episode more than 7 days after it aired. Afaik Disney only counts views in the first week as real interest. Alternatively, 🏴‍☠️.

Ok so the marvels was really really fun, does it deserve some criticism, yes definitely, it’s far from perfect, does it deserve all the hate, and slandering it’s getting NO!

skadi & ortlinde being unable to understand their loved ones decisions until it's practically too late. the inability of ophelia, skadi and ortlinde to actually take action until it's much too late. napoleon serving as a symbol of hope in that regard, the rainbow finally spurring ophelia into action.

the from lostbalt manga scene of ophelia admitting that she truly had different wishes in life than where she ended up, apologising for not doing better. skadi grieving over this, over ophelia, as a mother who is in the exact same spot of being unable to leave the duty that was placed on her.

lb2 had potential man, skadi's character has so much potential. it just pisses me off that both the game and fandom reduce her to moe scathach when there's so much that could've been done with her character

🌩️ Thor cocked an eyebrow slightly as he looked over at the many soldiers that Lu Bu led, he gazed over them all before settling on you. You were the most beautiful woman he had ever laid his eyes upon in eons

🌩️ You looked at Lu Bu with worry and determination in your eyes. It almost made Thor... jealous. But why would he, an all-powerful being such as himself, be jealous of some mortal's luck with picking a spouse?

🔱 Poseidon was internally shook at hearing a mortal woman yell at him. Every time any human tried voicing their opinions to him, his mere glace would shut them up. But not this human. This one was different

🔱 Looking up slightly, he saw you standing with the other supporters of your husband. One of the males, Musashi Miyamoto, was holding one of your arms to keep you from jumping down and attacking the god with your bare hands while his son, Iori, was watching in shock at how strong you were

🔱 The one thing that Poseidon noticed other than your attitude was how you moved. You moved so delicately and swiftly despite your fury, and it was, dare he think, alluring. It was almost like you were an embodiment of the silkiness of a piece of the softest fabric ever

🔱 You raised your fist and slammed it on the nearby seat, causing Iori to jump and your elderly-appearing husband to chuckle. Poseidon merely watched stoically as you screamed once again

"You win this match and show Humanity just how amazing your old-ass is, Kojiro!"

"Alright, sweetheart. I understand what I must do." He replied, a chill-smile on his face while yours portrayed pure hatred towards his opponent.

🔱 The God of the Seas then saw you lower your fist back down as Musashi had his son wrap it up, as it was bleeding from the impact of cement and your fragile-hand. He saw your hanfu, it looked very blue, like the seas he ruled over for centuries

🔱 After this fight was over with his winning and a step closer to the destruction of those pesky worms down on Earth, Poseidon was going to need to pay you a visit. Maybe said visit will lead to something else? But, for now, getting rid of this hunk of waste was the first step to said future

Why?

Because we can acknowledge that that moment was important for Gwyn and her healing and her character. Even when everyone else did it too. This was 'HER ribbon'. This was the mountain that she climbed and conquered.

We don't need to negate the importance of that moment and we don't need to argue who did what and when and how. This moment was given to Gwyn, by SJM.

The killing of the King was given to Elain by SJM.

People keep calling Gwyn a Carynthian. Yet Gwyn said it herself that she is NOT a Carynthian, and that she is a Valkyrie.

Exactly the same way Elain said that she 'only stabbed' the King. It doesn't negate what Elain did, even though her own perception could be different. She is still the Kingslayer, just like Gwyn is a Carynthian because she reached the top of Ramiel during the Blood Rite.

Even Azriel diminishes his role in saving Elain, for example. 'I HELPED rescue Elain' he stated. No, he literally did everything, plus he saved Briar too, which he doesn't mention at all. But Feyre was there as well, and she played a part. But who truly saved Elain? Azriel.

Elriels give credit where credit is due. Gwynriels try to remove all the credit from everyone. That's the difference. Because 'nothing' matters to them and everything is 'unimportant'. But perhaps, it is actually very important?

Elain is much better suited for the male who is associated with sunshine, traveling, court gatherings, cunning and sass. The male who travelled to the mortal continent on a whim from her visions. The male who asked to learn more about her, and, six months later, remembered the detail of her being happiest while gardening with gloves—which is what he brought her for Solstice. The male who was the first and only character to verbally credit her for helping kill the King of Hybern.

The male who ran across an entire battlefield just to make sure she was alright. The male who understands that she needs space and gives her such so that she can be comfortable, despite how it pains him to be away. The male who gave up his home and best friend to come and be closer her, to get to know her. The male who saw through her murky state and declared that she needed to go outdoors—which is what ultimately helped her. The male who continues to work as an emissary for the Night Court just to be close to her. The male who is her mate, who was handpicked by a higher power just for her.

Azriel is much better suited for the female who has also experienced the depths of darkness, but chooses to smile at it instead of run and hide. The female who would rather die alongside her friend than to let her face their enemies alone. The female who pushes and pushes and never gives up, despite the circumstances. The female who sees his shadows as more than an accessory and smiles at them. The female who also lost a piece of innocence unwillingly and viewed herself as tainted and unworthy, but is making strides in improving her image of herself internally. The female who has seen him in his own darkness—the one he hides from others—and instead chooses to be around him.

The female who understands that he would rather be alone, but stays because he wants her to. The female who experiences similar responses to late-night stressors and chooses to train. The female that he feels an indescribable pull towards, and one that brings a smile to his face at just the thought of her. The female that chose bravery over fear when her friends needed her most of all. The female who thrives on knowledge and enjoys learning new things. The first female Valkyrie reborn, the first female Carynthian, a warrior. The female who has been foreshadowed to be his mate, handpicked just for him.

The list can go on and on for either of them, but long story short—I much prefer Elain and Azriel to end up with the male and female who is portrayed as their equal.
